Sutta Pitaka (Dhammadàyàda sutta).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
Like this I hear.
One time World Religion in Savatthi (Xa-Ve), Jetavana (States-da Lam), Anathapindika's garden (Solitary Level). When in that spot, the Blessed One called the Male-stilts: "The Male-stilts", - "White World Religion", the Male-stilts obeyed The Blessed. The Blessed One said:
-The Male-stilts, be heirs of My Dharma, do not be heirs of material wealth. We have compassion for You and I think, "How are My disciples who are My inheritors of Dharma, not inheritors of wealth?" And, monks, if you are the heirs of my wealth, not the heirs of the Dharma, then not only do you become the people they say, "Both teachers and students are those who inherit wealth, not the heirs of the Dharma, "but also I become the one to whom they say," Both teachers and students are material heirs, not heirs. France ".
And, monks, if you are the heirs of My Dharma, not the heirs of wealth, in those days you will not become the people they say: "Both teachers and students are heirs of the Dharma, not the heirs of wealth, "but I also become the one to whom they say," Both teachers and students are inheritors of France, not inheritors of wealth. ". Therefore, the Male-stilts, be the Heirs of My Dharma, do not be heirs of material wealth. We have compassion for You and I think, "How are My disciples who are My inheritors of the Dharma, not the material heirs?"
The Male-stilts, here, one time I ate finished, satisfied, full, finished the meal, self-indulgence delight, contentment, and left the food of food that we deserve to be thrown out. Then there are two Male-stilts, hungry and exhausted. We can say to the two of them: "Monks, I have finished eating, contentment, completeness, finished the meal, self-indulgence, contentment, and left this food of food I deserve to be thrown away. If you want, eat it. If you do not want to eat, I will toss the food in the absence of green grass, or I will cast it in the water where there are no sentient beings in it. " Then a Male-stilts can think as follows: "Now World Religion finished eating, satisfied, full, ended the meal, self-delight delight, contentment; and this is the food of the Blessed One, If we don't eat, the Blessed One will throw that food on the spot where there is no green grass, or will put it in the water where there are no beings in it. But World Religion taught as follows: "The Male-stilts, be the heir to my Dharma, don't be the heir of material wealth". This type of material; This food, let's not eat this food and spend the night today, starving and exhausted. "Then he did not eat this food and spent the night that day, hungry and exhausted. Male-stilts Monday thought as follows: "World Religion finished eating, satisfied, full, ended the meal, self-delight delight, content; and this is the food of the World Religion, worthy of being thrown out. If we do not eat, the Blessed One will toss that food in the absence of green grass, or put it in the water where there are no beings in it. So let us eat this food, eliminate hunger and exhaustion, and spend the night like this today. "Then he ate that food, except hunger and exhaustion, and spent the night like that. Bhikkhus, oil-stilts for this Male-stilts, after eating that kind of food, except hunger and exhaustion, and spent the night like that, but for Me, the first Female-stilts deserved more respected, and deserved more praise. Why? Because so will bring to Female-stilts, for a long time, little sex, know enough, ascetic, easy to nurture, essential needs, effort. Therefore, the Male-stilts, be the heir of my Dharma, do not be the heir of material wealth. diligent. Therefore, the Male-stilts, be the heir of my Dharma, do not be the heir of material wealth. diligent. Therefore, the Male-stilts, be the heir of my Dharma, do not be the heir of material wealth.
World Religion preached like that. Saying so, World Religion from the seat stood up, went to the monastery. At that time, the venerable Sariputta (Xa-profit-waving), shortly after the Buddha left, immediately called the Male-stilts: "Hey Sage monks-stilts!" - "Dear Mr. Hien", the Male-stilts obeyed the author of Sariputta.
