Vocabulary.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. The causes and origins that lead us to go in samsara, in the Three Paths of the Six Paths to suffer or enjoy happiness are all due to the three karmas of body karma, speech karma and mind karma. The Story of Retribution Evil words and Not knowing Tolerance at the beginning of the New Year Of these three karmas, mental karma is the most important. It is the master of all good and bad karma. If we want to fully understand the three karmas, we can't go through it all in a few pages. So in this short article, we will only learn a small aspect of the negative consequences of verbal karma, and from here we will infer the good and bad consequences of the other two karmas. In the Sa-di law there is a sentence: "Commenting people in life, hammer in their mouth, often to cut themselves". This is a warning, reminding us to be careful with our words. If you accidentally or intentionally say a bad word, criticize or insult others, you will receive painful retribution like someone slashing your body with a hammer. In the Sa-di law, there is a story as follows: There was a novice criticizing a bhikkhu who chanted a sutra like a barking dog. The bhikkhu knew that he had compassion, so he taught him to repent. The Sa-di repented but the sin still did not end, after that he had to fall into five hundred dog lives. Through the above story, we can clearly see how heavy the consequences of verbal karma are. Only one evil word in a few seconds but suffer the consequences of suffering in the evil path for many lifetimes and many kalpas. So be careful what you say. We must say good words, say useful things. If we cannot say good things, we should be silent, but absolutely do not say bad words so as not to bring harm to the body. The Buddha said, "Speak as the Dharma, be silent as the Dharma". There is also a very good folk saying: "Speech does not cost money to buy, choose words to say to please each other". Buddhas, saints, and sages always remind us to be careful not to speak evil words. They tell us the evil consequences of oral karma through many stories in books and scriptures that every time we read it, it makes us shudder! Here are some typical stories from the scriptures: The story of Loc Nu in the Great Means of Buddha's gratitude. In a very ancient life, immeasurable aeons ago, a Buddha was born with the name of Venerable Bhikkhu. At the time of the Buddha, there was a family, unfortunately, the husband died early, leaving behind a wife and a young child. From the day her husband died, the wife worked hard every day to raise her children. Every time she comes home from work, she brings food home for her children. One day, because she was busy with work, she came home late, the son at home waited for a long time, was so hungry, he became angry and said: - My mother today, for some reason, does not feed me, does not look at me, leaves me like this? Because he was so troubled, the son repeated the same thing three times, and then said: - My mother today is not equal to animals. I see an animal like a deer, whenever its baby is hungry and thirsty, its heart can't even leave it! Because of the sin of saying that his mother is like an animal, the son must receive the retribution for five hundred lifetimes as the son of a deer. The story of the great insect in the Great Vehicle Sutra of the Buddha's gratitude. One day, when the Buddha and Ananda went for alms from the city of Rajasthan back, to the outskirts of the city, they saw a large and deep pool of water. This puddle is very dirty, so many sewage drains, all sorts of urine are poured into it. At that time, in the puddle, there was a giant insect, shaped like a human, but with many limbs. When the great insect saw the Buddha from afar, he raised his head out of the water, looked at him with tears in his eyes. When the Buddha saw it, showing compassion, he immediately returned to Mount Kysara. At that time, Ananda, wanting to know the origin of that insect, asked the Buddha in the midst of the great assembly: - Bach Duc World-Honored One! What bad karma did the insect in that puddle do in his previous life to be born in that puddle? With how much time? And when can we get rid of the worms? The Buddha told Ananda and the assembly that: - The masses listen to me and I will speak. In the distant past, there was a Buddha who was born to teach sentient beings. After the Buddha entered Nirvana, at the time of the Statue of Dharma, there was a Duyna in a certain temple, daily full of offerings by Buddhists. enough. One day, a guest Sangha came to ask for accomodation, and the Buddhists saw it and made delicious food, in which oil was the most delicious dish. The Duy-na, because of his frugality, hid the bowl of oil from the Sangha guest. The Sangha heard about it and said: - Why don't you bring a bowl of oil to the Sangha? The Duyna replied: – Since you are a guest, we are permanent residents, so we do not make offerings to you. Guest bhikkhu said: – It is the real food that Buddhists offer to the Sangha. At that time, the other Duyna showed an angry expression and scolded the guest Sangha: - Why don't you eat the detox food and keep following me asking for that oil? Because of that evil word, from that time until now, after having passed ten million kalpas, that Duyna often had to be born in a puddle of dung. The story of the hundred-headed fish in the Hien Sutra is stupid. At one time, the Buddha and the Mass were traveling in the coastal area. At that time, the fishermen caught a very strange fish. People gathered to watch in large numbers, and the Buddha and the Sangha also came to see. This fish has a strange shape, the body of a fish but has a hundred animal heads such as the head of a horse, pig, dog, snake, centipede, etc. The Buddha was moved with compassion and asked the fish: - Fish, is that the Capilean? – Yes, yes. He continued: – This life is a fisherman, do you know where to go in the next life? - Venerable Sir, in the next life, I will return to the Abhi hell. Ananda and the assembly wanted to know the origin of the fish, so they asked the Blessed One. The Buddha then said: In the time of Buddha Kashyapa, there was a clever young man who won every time he argued with someone, but when he argued with the recluses he lost. After he disguised himself as a monk, he entered the temple to learn the secrets of argument in order to hope to win the argument against the recluse. Because he is a person who pretends to be a monk and goes to the temple to study religion, so he is intelligent in his studies but does not generate wisdom. Every time he argues with the recluses, he loses. Too angry, he cursed the Bhikkhu-stilts as animals, bull heads, dog heads, etc. Due to the retribution of scolding the monastics, since then, he has always suffered as a hundred-headed fish. such strange. Venerable Ananda and the great assembly said to the Blessed One: - Dear World-Honored One, when will the Capilles be freed from the body of the fish? Buddha replied. - Ananda, it's still a long time. In the good kalpa, a thousand Buddhas were born and passed away, but they have not been released. The Buddha finished speaking, everyone shivered, felt pity, said in unison: All sentient beings body, mouth and thoughts should be careful! Through the above stories, we clearly see that the consequences of verbal karma are very heavy. One evil word, I will receive the retribution of suffering for countless kalpas. So be careful with your words, especially towards the Three Jewels, parents, and teachers, because these people are our great benefactors, the ones who give birth to, raise, and teach us. If we intentionally or unintentionally use evil words to offend them, the sin will be unpredictable. In the sutras the Buddha often taught, people are born into this world, and harm comes from their mouths, so they have to keep their mouths shut even more than strong fire, because strong fire can only burn this life, just as the saying goes. evil speech will burn for countless kalpas. If we use evil words to denigrate, curse, and curse people, we will receive extremely painful retribution. On the other hand, if we use good words, use good words to praise, praise, comfort, and help people, we will have peaceful and happy retribution for a long time. Especially if we use good words and good intentions to praise and praise the Three Jewels, our parents and teachers will receive immeasurable blessings. In the sutras often say, the Buddha has thirty-two good marks, eighty beauty. Among them there are good signs such as: forty-two teeth are white and beautiful, tongue is long to the ears, mouth emits fragrance and often exudes a sweet and fresh taste of nectar. The reason the Buddha had these good marks was because of many lifetimes, many lifetimes of practicing speech and karma. In short, our human suffering or happiness are caused by the three karmas of body, mouth and mind. If the body, mouth, and mind do evil deeds, they will suffer the consequences of suffering. If body, mouth, and mind do good deeds, they will enjoy happy and happy retribution. Of these three karmas, mental karma is the most important, but the other two are equally important, especially verbal karma. That's why the Buddha taught: "Discourse on people in the world, hammer in mouth, often cut yourself". There are also folk sayings that advise people to be careful in speaking, such as: "Illnesses are imported, wares are exported" (Illnesses come from the mouth, paint from the mouth); or the sentence: "One language, one language, one cannot ignore" (A word and half an hour, cannot be despised). Realizing that the consequences of oral karma are so important, through this article, we advise everyone to be careful with our words. Whenever we speak, let's say words that bring joy, speak the Dharma, otherwise be silent. We should not say evil words, illegal words that cause suffering and retribution for many lives, many kalpas.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.25/10/2021.
