ART OF LIVING – STRAP YOURSELF ON THE ROAD TO liberated.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. In the city of Savatthi in North India, the Buddha had a large center where people came to meditate and listen to him preach the Dhamma. A young man used to come to the lecture every afternoon. He listened to the Buddha's teachings for many years but never put the teachings into practice. After a few years, one afternoon he went to the monastery early and found the Buddha alone. He approached Him and said: “Sir, I have a question that keeps asking me.” “Oh, there should be no doubt on the path of Dhamma. Let's make them clear. What's your question?" “Venerable Sir, in the many years that I have been to the monastery, I have noticed that there are a large number of monks and lay people around you. Over the years they have come to you, I see that some have reached the final stage: obviously they are completely liberated. I also see many other people who have had a change in their lives, although I cannot say they are completely liberated, but they are much better than before. But Sir, I also notice that a lot of people, myself included, are still the same, sometimes even worse. This number of people hasn't changed at all, or hasn't changed for the better at all. Why is that, sir? People came to Him, a great man completely liberated, a man full of power and compassion. Why don't you use your power and compassion to free them all?" Buddha smiled and said: “Hey young man, where do you live? Where is your home town?" "Venerable Sir, I live here in Savatthi, the capital of Kosala." “Yes, but the look on your face shows that you are not from here. Where is your home town?" “Venerable sir, in Rajagaha, the capital of Magadha. I've been living here for a few years now." “So have you cut off all contact with Rajagaha?” “No, sir. I have relatives, friends, businesses there.” “So you must go back to Rajagaha, right?” “Your Excellency, yes. I return to Rajagaha many times a year.” “Going back and forth like that, surely you know the way well?” “Oh, sir, yes. I know very well. Even if I closed my eyes, I would still find Rajagaha, because I have walked this road many times.” “And your friends who know you well must know that you came from Rajagaha to settle down here? They must know that you often go to Rajagaha and back, and that you know the way from here to Rajagaha?" “Oh, sir, yes. Those who are close to me know that I go to Rajagaha often and know the way well.” “Then someone must have come to ask you the way to Rajagaha. Do you hide them or do you show them the way?” “Sir, there is nothing to hide. I wholeheartedly show them. Start going East then towards Banaras, and continue on to Gaya, then Rajagaha. I explained it very well to them.” “And did all the people you show make it to Rajagaha?” “How is that possible, sir? Only those who go all the way will reach Rajagaha.” “Young man, that is what I want to teach you. People keep coming to me, knowing that this is someone who has come from here to Nibbana and knows this way well. They come and ask: What is the way to Nibbana, to liberation? And there's nothing to hide. I preach to them very clearly: 'This is the way.' If someone nods and says: 'Well said, good road but I don't walk on it; a wonderful path but I don't want to be burdened to walk', how does one reach the destination? I don't carry anyone on my shoulders to take them to their destination. No one can carry another person on his shoulders to carry him to his destination. At best, with compassion he can say: Hey, this is the way, and how I went on it. You also have to practice, you also have to walk on your own and you will get there. Everyone has to walk on their own, walk on their own. The person who takes one step is one step closer to the finish line. One who takes a hundred steps is closer to the finish line than a hundred steps. The person who has walked all the steps reaches the final destination. You have to walk the path yourself.”END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.3/9/2021.
