37. Sub-Sutras devoted to love.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
(Cùlatanhàsankhaya sutta)
Like this I hear.
At one time, the Blessed One was staying at Savatthi (Sāvatthi), Eastern Park (Pubbarama), and the Deer Hall (Migaramatu).
Then the deva Sakka came to the place where the Blessed One was, and after arriving, bowed down to the Blessed One and stood to one side. Deva Sakka, standing to one side, said to the Blessed One:
-- In a nutshell, Venerable Sir, to what extent, a bhikkhu is in love with liberation, the ultimate goal of achievement, the end of safety from suffering, the end of the holy life, the end of perfection, the supreme victory between gods and humans?
-- Here, Lord, a bhikkhu is heard as follows: "It is unworthy, if there is partiality towards all dharmas". O Lord, if a bhikkhu is heard thus: 'It is unworthy to be partial to all dharmas', he knows all dhammas. Having known all dharmas, he knows thoroughly all dharmas. Having thoroughly known all dharmas, if there is any feeling, pleasant feeling, painful feeling, or neither painful nor pleasant feeling, he lives contemplating impermanence, dwells contemplating the nature of detachment, lives contemplating cessation, lives contemplating renunciation in those feelings. He lives by contemplating impermanence, living in contemplation of separation from greed, living in contemplation of cessation, living in contemplation of detachment in those feelings, so he is not attached to anything in life; Because he has no attachment, he is not afflicted, because he is not afflicted, he attains Nirvana. He understands: "Birth has come to an end,
Then Deva Sakka, having rejoiced, accepted the Blessed One's teaching, bowed down to the Blessed One, turned his right body towards him, and disappeared on the spot. At that time, the venerable Maha Moggallana was sitting not far from the Blessed One. Then the venerable Maha Moggallana thought: "If I don't understand that Yakkaha, after being delighted with the Blessed One's teaching, will I have faith or not? teach, have faith or not?"
Then the venerable Maha Moggallana, like an athlete stretching his bent arm, or contracting his outstretched arm, disappeared at the Dongyuan Deer lecture hall and appeared in the midst of the Thirty-three gods.
At that time, Sakka, with all five hundred heavenly musical instruments, was playing in the garden of Nhat Bach Lien. Deva Sakka, seeing Venerable Maha Moggallana coming from afar, told the five hundred celestial musical instruments to stop, went to Venerable Maha Moggallana, and on arrival said to Venerable Maha Moggallana: "Come here, good friend Moggallana; good future, Good Friend Moggallana! Good Friend Moggallana, it's been a long time since Friend has come here. Sit, Friend Moggallana, on the seat prepared."
Venerable Mahamoggallana, sit down on the seat prepared. And the God-lord Sakka took another low chair and sat down to one side. Then the venerable Mahamoggallana said to Sakka, who was sitting to one side:
-- Kosiya, regarding the teaching which the Blessed One gave you in a nutshell, it would be good for us to hear only part of it.
--Friend Moggallana, we are busy with many things, we have many things to do, work for us and work for the gods in the Thirty-three heaven. Again, good friend Moggallana, this teaching is well heard, well grasped, well thought out, and well examined, so it cannot be quickly forgotten. Friend Moggallana, once upon a time there was war between the gods and the Asuras. Dear friend Moggallana, in this battle the gods won, the Asuras lost. Dear friend Moggallana, after we won that battle and on the occasion of our victory, we, after returning, built a castle called Vejayanta. Friend Moggallana, Vejayanta castle has a hundred stupas, in each tower there are seven triangular houses, in each triangle house there are seven fairies, and each fairy has seven maids.
Venerable Maha Moggallana silently accepted. Then the Lord Sakka and the great king Vessavana let the venerable Maha Moggallana go ahead and went to Vejayanta castle. Sakka's maids, seeing Venerable Maha Moggallana coming from afar, upon seeing them, were ashamed, timid, and entered their rooms. For example, when a bride sees her father-in-law, she is embarrassed and shy; likewise, the maids of the deva Sakka, seeing the venerable Maha Moggallana, were ashamed and timid, and went into their own rooms.
Then Lord Sakka and the great king Vessavana took Venerable Maha Moggallana to visit and see throughout Vejayanta: "Friend Moggallana, see this lovely thing about Vejayanta; see this lovely thing about Vejayanta. shining through the merits done by the venerable Kosiya in ancient times; and humans, when they see something lovely, say: 'Indeed, this shines from the gods of the Thirty-three. merits done by the Venerable Kosiya in the past'.
Then Venerable Maha Moggallana thought: "This yakkha lives in an excessively hectic way. Let's make this person panic". Venerable Maha Moggallana immediately displayed supernatural powers, using his big toe to make the Vejayanta floor vibrate, move, and shake strongly. The god Sakka, the great king Sessavana and the gods in the heaven of the Thirty-three, the mind felt wonderful and rare: "How wonderful, how rare is the great divine power, the great majesty of the venerable Sa-mon. With his big toe, he makes this heavenly palace vibrate, move, shake violently!"
Venerable Mahamoggallana, after knowing that the Lord Sakka was frightened, his hair stood up and said to the Lord Sakka:
-- Kosiya, regarding the teaching which the Blessed One gave you in a nutshell, it would be good for us to hear only part of it.
- Here, Friend Moggallana, I went to the place where the Blessed One was, and after arriving, bowed down to the Blessed One and stood to one side. Good friend Moggallana, after standing to one side, I said to the Blessed One thus:
"--World-Honored One, to what extent, in short, a bhikkhu is the goal of liberation, the end of achievement, the end of security from suffering, the end of the holy life, the end of perfection. , the supreme conqueror between gods and humans?
Upon hearing this, Friend Moggallana, the Blessed One said to me thus:
"-- Here, Lord, a bhikkhu is heard as follows: 'It is unworthy, if there is partiality towards all dharmas'". He knows all dharmas. Having known all dharmas, he knows all dharmas thoroughly.” Having thoroughly known all dharmas, if there is any feeling, pleasant feeling, painful feeling, or neither painful nor pleasant feeling, he he lives contemplating impermanence, lives contemplating separation from greed, lives contemplating the cessation of covetousness, and lives contemplating renunciation in those feelings. Living contemplating renunciation in those feelings, he is not attached to anything in the world; because he is not attached, he is not afflicted; because he is not afflicted, he attains Nirvana. He understands: "Birth has been finished, the holy life has been accomplished, the things to be done have been done, there is no coming back to this world.” “O God,
Thus, Friend Moggallana, the Blessed One briefly spoke to me about the craving for liberation. "
Then the venerable Maha Moggallana, having rejoiced and believed in the words of the Lord Sakka, like an athlete stretching out his bent arm, or contracting his outstretched arm, disappeared among the gods in the three heavens. thirty-three, and appeared at the Dong Vien Loc Mau lecture hall.
Not long after the venerable Mahamoggallana had gone, the maids of the Lord Sakka said to the Lord Sakka the following:
-- Lord, is he the Blessed One, the Teacher of the Lord?
-- No, he is not the Blessed One, my Teacher. He is my companion in the holy life, Venerable Maha Moggallana.
-- Lord God, it is a good thing for God, to have a fellow holy man with such great supernatural powers and great power. Surely he is the Blessed One, the Teacher of the Lord of Gods.
Then the venerable Maha Moggallana came to the place where the Blessed One was staying, having paid homage to the Blessed One, and sat down to one side. After sitting down to one side, the venerable Maha Moggallana said to the Blessed One:
-- World-Honored One, did the Blessed One know that the Blessed One had just spoken of the craving for liberation in a nutshell for a mighty yakkha?
-- Hey Moggallana, I know. Here, the Lord Sakka came to the place where I was staying, after arriving, bowed to Me and stood to one side. After standing to one side, Moggallana, the Lord Sakka said to Me:
"--World-Honored One, in a nutshell, to what extent is a bhikkhu who desires liberation, attains the ultimate goal, secures the end from suffering, ends up in the holy life, and achieves the ultimate goal? , the supreme conqueror between gods and humans?
When I heard this, Maha Moggallana, I said to the Lord Sakka:
"-- Here, Lord, a bhikkhu is heard as follows: 'It is unworthy, if there is partiality towards all dharmas.' unworthy if there is partiality towards all dharmas.” He knows all dharmas well. After knowing all dharmas, he knows thoroughly all dharmas. , if there is any feeling, a pleasant feeling, a painful feeling, or a neither painful nor pleasant feeling, he lives contemplating the nature of impermanence, living contemplating the nature of detachment from covetousness, living contemplating the nature of cessation, living contemplating renunciation in feelings. By living contemplating impermanence, living contemplating separation from greed, contemplating cessation, and living in contemplation of renunciation in those feelings, he does not attach to anything in the world. Because he is not attached, he does not mind. brain, because he is free from afflictions, he attains Nirvana, he understands: "Birth has come to an end,The holy life has been accomplished, the things to be done have been done, there is no more coming back to this life.” O Lord, in a nutshell, to such an extent, a Female-stilts who love to be liberated, have reached their ultimate goal, the end of security, from suffering and yoke, the end of the holy life, the end of perfection, the supreme conqueror between gods and humans."
Thus, Moggallana, I know that I have spoken briefly of the craving for liberation to the Lord Sakka."
Thus the Blessed One preached. Venerable Maha Moggallana rejoiced and believed in the Blessed One's words.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.21/9/2021.
