Question:  Why in the Pali Theravada Sutta there are only two kinds  of generosity,  giving (giving of material) and  Dhamma  (giving of Dharma), but Mahayana Buddhism also has a third kind of generosity,  no fear pilot  (alms without fear)?

Commentary Professor (LS) LONG XA TU: It is ridiculous that he was almsgiving but was also stingy, only given by the Buddha two but not up to three. As expected from Xiao Cheng!   

It is thanks to having immeasurable generosity that Bodhisattva adversity De Ba Dat Da in the Mahayana sutras even though he is in the middle of Hell of No-cockroach, he is still naturally safe, see prison seems not. Moreover, he even dared to say aloud that, until Shakyamuni Buddha went to hell, he would want to come out. De Ba Dat Da is more blatant than the most fanatic against Buddhism. What a fearless example for how many other cowardly playful Bodhisattvas!

Also thanks to the fearless almsgiving, the Mahayana Bodhisattvas had the courage to  "Meet the Buddha to kill the Buddha, to meet the Patriarch to kill the Patriarch",  bravely overcame the evil spirit to progress. The unbelievers also know to actively learn that indomitable spirit and also practice ultimately in reality. So in order to advance to their paradise, how many times have they actively bravely burned the pagoda, killed the monks and nuns, and destroyed Buddhism, not inferior to the Mahayana Bodhisattvas?

Perhaps they are also the Bodhisattvas playful! We still have to bow to them as the Bodhisattva Irresistible did again:  "Dear men, I dare not despise you, then all will become Buddha!" Indeed, the Suttas taught  "beings of the same nature",  that is, all species are equal with Buddha nature, there is no difference.How can people who are crazy about mind to perceive this profound teaching "without distinction".

It was also thanks to fearlessness that Zen Master Nam Tuyen dared even dare to break the dignity, slash a cat in front of so many weak eyes to clear the dispute. His resolute action has been praised by generations of Zen masters as a powerful symbol of the spirit of disobedience. Some people call this method "the most murderous cat, save thousands of trials". That means just killing a cat to fearlessly give thousands of mice is best.

Still, there are people who are very talkative, dare to touch the unbelievable wisdom of the Patriarchs. This is crazy! Just need to think a little hard to understand. Try asking, if you don't know "kill" but only "save" this side, "save" the other side, where is the courage? not afraid in any place? Where is fearlessness? Obviously silly!

However, perhaps To Nam Tuyen also found that killing was not good, so when the disciple Tung Tham returned, the Patriarch immediately told the incident for approval. Tung Tham did not say anything, just put on sandals on his head and went out, making his monstrous behavior become a "koan" over the years that no one understood.

What is difficult to understand! Ordinary people cannot see is right. I enlightened this koan in a mad hospital. That day, while visiting the mentally ill patients, I saw a gentleman with a pair of sandals on his head, walking in and out silently. I was startled with horror, thinking to myself "Tung Tham is reborn! Tung Tham reborn! ". I bring this finding to the doctors. The men did not care, so they laughed happily: “Teacher, teacher. He's the heaviest man here, has been mad and knows the difference between top and bottom, right and left, right or wrong ”

I startled again. Damn it, could someone say that Zen Zong is crazy Zen meditation, it's evil meditation, it's right? Is it possible that the Zen Patriarchs, all of them are crazy, not inferior to the "heaviest" ones?

That's right, Tung Shen is not crazy, but he just pretends to put on the sandals on his head, he wants to implicitly tell him that he has no discrimination, he also has attachments on top, right, left, black, white, and evil. So it is Mr. Nam Tuyen, be carefree  . Near time just to kill, to fear nothing " . The Six Tos already taught, "Do not recite good, recite evil; The present "cash register" that! Good deeds do not think good, do not think evil, the real face immediately, regardless. There's no shortage of crazy people in the world running into murder. Someone even distinguishes the Zen master, the madman and the killer are still treated, secondary, inferior.

Obviously, only Patriarch Nam Tuyen understands this insight, so he was thrilled to have an ally. So he immediately said a green and guilty sentence:  "If only you had you, the cat would not have been killed!"  That eloquent statement has been with the patriarch Nam Tuyen along the thousands of years of Zen Buddhism history. Truly "the name is immortal", honestly I dare not make up.  

Listening to this story, I remembered another one of the criminal fiction genre. In which a murderer bravely shouted straight at the judges: "If only there were the police, I would not have killed!". The entire judges turned to face the fearless courage of the villain. In that way, they were even more terrified, because the assassin's mysterious koan was no different from the mindful words of Master Nam Tuyen. So everyone believed that the murderer was also "naturally enlightened" as the Patriarchs, so he announced to forgive him. A story like that turns out to be real!

Therefore, those who practice meditation must also know how to follow the example of fearless master Nam Tuyen, and must know the end of indistinguishability like Tung Tham. If our congregation has a dispute because of a girl or a boy, then just calmly "let go" of them immediately. What needs to take the effort to discourage one side, dissuade the other side for waste. Dared to practice according to the spirit of Kim Cang - regardless of  "I, human beings, sentient beings, or living beings"   when still shaking hands. Maybe, thanks to his daring act that is not fearful than his seniors, he will also be saved the ancient name.

But no matter how sinful you are, don't be afraid! Practice the sublime true penitential dharma of the great roots and great wisdom and be done immediately. The Mahayana Patriarchs have already taught:  “Sin arises from the mind, and the mind ceases. The mind is already pure and then the crime is immediately gone The crime of pure mind is not. That is true repentance " . So sublime! There is no way that so many Mahayana Bodhisattvas, thanks to this even profound penance, are still at ease, ignoring all their sins without mind. The unscrupulous people know how to practice this, but they do not have a square head like the Patriarchs, do not know how to curl like them, so they are still cursed by the world. Deserved!

Even, based on the Mahayana Bible, I boldly declare: even if someone kills his mother, kills his father, kills Arahants, makes the Buddha bleed, destroys the Sangha; creating five great crimes to fall into hell. No need to fear nothing. Why? Because there was a great vow of Pho Hien Bo-slapping charity to save and save quickly and quickly. Indeed, in the Mahayana Sutra, the Virtuous Prayer of Pho Hien (the translation of Thich Tri Quang) even clearly states this verbatim  " until only a single four-sentence correction can be copied, it was also quickly eliminate those five innocence crimes "  that .

If someone still does not believe, open your eyes wide, clench your hands, recite the following miraculous poetic poems filled with unreasonable spirit in paragraph 57 of the above text, you will have the courage to despise the whole year The Great Crime of Innocence: 

“If that was old

There is no wisdom

should make five sin

Invisible Hell ,

but if today

chant the great vow king

of Samantabhadra,

then a moment

instant destruction

five such crimes. " 

I would like to repeat, just a moment of seconds will immediately destroy the five great sins of the Indestructible Hell: killing mother, killing father, killing Arahant, making Buddha bleed, breaking harmony Increase. What is higher than the Mahayana Mahayana dharma? The Thanh Van Tieu Thua people, no matter how big of a brave, have to be shocked and bowed from afar!
