CENTRAL Sutras - SUTRAS NUMBER 41-42

Sàleyyaka - Veranjaka

I. MAJOR ACCOUNTING

The brahmins of Sàla and of Veranja.

In these two nearly identical suttas, the Buddha explains to the groups of brahmin householders the courses of conduct leading to rebirth in lower realms and the courses leading to higher rebirth and deliverance.

Brahmins in Sàla and in Veranja .

In these two nearly identical sutras, the Buddha teaches the Brahmin household groups about the karma  that leads to rebirth in the lower realms, and the karma  that leads to high rebirth and  liberation.

II. SUMMARY

The Buddha preached in the village of Sàla to the Kosala people, and at the Guardians for the people of Veranja  to visit, about ten negative karma and 10 good karma, when  asked what cause after death, there was a sentient birth in the  land, organic t ình into fresh realms. Born in  fall of origin due to three negative karma on the body: killing, stealing, adultery; four negative karma on speech: lying, speaking with two tongues, saying rude, saying useless words; and three negative karma about ideas: greed, anger, wrong views. Whoever renounces these ten negative karma,  righteous pathways, he / she wishes, can be born into noble human lineages, or be born into the celestial realms or rupa realms.

III. NOTE

Having wrong views  "No giving" means that wrong views deny the results of giving. "No  life n ày,  life after" deny rebirth. "No mother, no father" denied the retribution of filial filial piety or filial piety. "There is no monk ..." denies the existence of Buddha and the Arahants. These are all kinds of "utopia" of materialism.

Dai Kinh Phuong Quang

I. MAJOR ACCOUNTING

Mahàvedalla Sutta - The greater series of questions and answers.

These two discourses take form of discussions on various subtle points of Dhamma, the former between the venerable Mahà Kotthila and the venerable Sàriputta, the latter between the bhikkhunì Dhammadinnà and the lay follower Visàkha.

II. SUMMARY

The venerable Sariputta comment  e àm Ma ha Kosala of  points:

1. Paralysis of wisdom and wisdom:  Paralysis  is not wisdom of the four truths; Wisdom  is wisdom of 4 truths. Wisdom is  triumphant, understanding and  cessation .

2. Difference between  Wisdom and Knowledge :  Wisdom  is due to practice and renunciation. Knowledge  is knowing the neutral, painful and pleasant feelings. There is a relationship between wisdom and consciousness, which means that whatever consciousness knows, wisdom also knows, so it is very difficult to distinguish.

3. Between  consciousness,  perception and feeling are correlated, so it is difficult to distinguish; for what  is felt, also perceived, and what  is perceived , is also  known.

4. What is the  sense of isolation of the  5 senses: can  lead to No inexhaustible origin, Consciousness of infinite origin, No possession of origin.

Craving , aversion, and delusion  create  pamànakarana qualities , for they impose  limits on the scope and depth of the mind. But according to the Abhidhamma, because it makes one  measure whether a person is a noble, a reserve, a monstrous or imperfect.

The commentary says that there are 12 liberating minds: 4 offenders, 4  leads, 4 results. Immovable liberation mind is Arhat results. To say the mind is empty of greed, hatred, and delusion is supernatural liberating mind through  no form  because craving, aversion and delusion create forms.

There are nine liberating minds through no form: no possession of origin and 4  paths, 4 results.

According to the Abhidhamma, the things that make up the form, nimittakarana, are craving and delusion because they label a person as divine or holy, to be greed or to aversion or delusion. But it can also be understood that this defilement of attachment and delusion causes the mind to assign things such  false properties as enduring, loving, self- serving,  and beautiful.

Interpretation: there are 13 formless liberating mind: wisdom, because it eliminates the general, stray, and self; 4  formless concentration, because they have no physical form; and 4  paths 4 results, because they have no pollution.

All 4 liberation minds  are  synonymous  because they  all refer to Arahantship, and because the four immeasurable  names  , no, formless, possessive are all other names of Nirvana.

Phuong Quang Primary Business

I. MAJOR ACCOUNTING

Cùlavedalla Sutta - The shorter series of questions and answers.

Set of short questions  responded . (See scripture 43.)

II. SUMMARY

Dhammadinna nun taught layman Visakha about the  points:

1.  Self : the five prime aggregates à self. The initial set of self is the thirst for the sentence to be happy, to look for bliss from here and there. Self-cessation is  the cessation of craving. The way to cessation is eight-way holy  .

2.  Thu and aggregates : have sex  for the five aggregates then called the aggregates.

3.  The body is  the attachment of the ordinary, see 5  aggregates  as self, or see  ego  n aggregates, or view  5 aggregates in  the self, or see  the self in the  five aggregates. Non-bias is that there are no such  views.

8.  Three life :  for pleasurable life, stay is bliss, vanishing is suffering. For suffering, dwells are suffering, vanishing is happiness. For non-bliss, there is mind bliss, and no-mind is suffering. In happiness, there is constant craving; in suffering there is a constant pitch; in unbelievable suffering there is endless delusion. However, if these three feelings are in meditation  , there is no attachment to craving, aversion or delusion. For example, the blissful feeling in first meditation does not have any attachment; Concerned about wanting to  attain the noble realms is a kind of longevity, but there is no arbitrary aversion; and pure equanimity in the four jhānas is non-suffering, blissful feeling, but there is no constant ignorance.

III. NOTE

Visàkha  was a wealthy merchant in the city of Wang. Dhammadinnà, while at home, was his wife. Once ordained as a nun, she  attained Arhat, Buddha announced l à  disciples ni Best of lectures.

Dharma practice

I. MAJOR ACCOUNTING

Cùladhammasamàdàna Sutta - The shorter discourse on ways of undertaking things.

The Buddha explains, differently in each of the two suttas, four ways of undertaking things, distinguished according to whether they are painful or pleasant now and whether they ripen in pain or pleasure in the future.

Short sutta about behaviors .

Buddha explained that in these two sutras, the four ways of receiving dhammas are different in that now they are pleasure or suffering and in the future, they result in either joy or suffering.

II. SUMMARY

There are four practices: present, lost, future suffering; present suffering, the future is also suffering. Present suffering, future pleasure; and the present is blissful, the future is also peaceful.

Type 1 is the practice of the brahmins of craving  sensual pleasure, the future is retrieved in the three evil ways.

Type 2 is austerity that belongs to the forbidden world of the pagan  .

Great business practice

I. MAJOR ACCOUNTING

Mahàdhammasamàdàna Sutta - The greater discourse on ways of undertaking things.

II. SUMMARY

The Buddha taught, most sentient beings  wish to reduce suffering, to relax , but only to meet a little joy, more suffering. The cause is not practicing the holy ordinary law, specializing in doing things not  worth l moisture and avoid things  worth l humidity, causing suffering Justice t antenna growth, optimistic mitigation.

There are four practices: present suffering, the future of suffering; present happy, miserable future; present suffering, happy future; Happy present, happy future.

The present suffering, the future of suffering, is the case in which the present person does the ten negative karma in a state  of suffering, when the body destroys the life of the evil realm. As medicine  e ã  bitter m à re-  toxic, l àm deadly drink.

I. MAJOR ACCOUNTING

Vìmamsaka Sutta - the inquirer .

The Buddha invites the bhikkhus to maek a thorough investigation of himself in order to find out whether or not he can be accepted as fully enlightened.

Learners .

Buddha advised bhikkhus to do a thorough examination of himself  to find out if he  deserves to be accepted as fully enlightened.

II. SUMMARY

The Buddha taught the monks to learn about the Tathagata whether he is really  Enlightenment or not. There are seven things worth understanding.

1. Are the defilements perceived by the eyes and ears still in existence in Him?

2. The trash when infected when the pure is perceived by the eyes, ears, do not arise.

3. The completely pure dhammas, perceived by the eyes and ears, do not arise.

4. This dharma is attained in him in a long or short period of time.

5. Will some dangers befall Him when he is famous?

6. Considering his bad reputation due to fear that abandoned or because  e ã  cessation of craving m à abandon; to admit that he was fearless and forsaken, for whether he was in the midst of them or he was alone; and He does not criticize those who follow the evil world, specialize in arbitration.

Brahmanimantanika Sutta - The invitation of a brahmà.

Baka the Brahmà, a high divinity, adopts the pernicious view that the heavenly world over which he presides is eternal and that there is no higher state beyond. The Buddha visits him to dissuade him from that wrong view and engages him in a contest of Olympian dimensions.
