    This "Dhammapada" is translated in the English language "Buddhist Legends" by Eugène Watson Burlingame. This scholar was based on the original Dhammapada Commentary in Pali. The Legend of the Wise Sutra is the work of Buddhaghosa, who lived around the fifth century.
