3. The Sutta of the Dharma
(Dhammadayada sutta)
This is how I hear. One World War in Savatthi, Jetavana, Anathapindika Garden. When they are in that place, the Blessed One calls the monks: "Monks," - "The Blessed One," the monks obey the Buddha. The Sun said:- Monks, be my Dharma heirs, do not be material heirs. I have compassion on you and I think: "How are my disciples my legacies, not material heirs?" And, if you are my material heirs, you are not the heirs of the Fa, not only are you people who say, "Both teachers and pupils are the heirs of the material, not the heirs of the Dharma, "but also I became someone who said:" Both teachers and pupils are heirs of material things, not the heirs. French ".And these monks, if you are my own legatees, are not the heirs of material things, the time not only of you who are people who say: "Both you and me are French heirs, not the heirs of material things, "but I also became someone whom they say:" Both teachers and students are French heirs, not the material heirs. " Thus, bhikkhus, be my Dharma followers, do not be the heirs of material things. I have compassion on you and I think: "How are my disciples my legacies, not material heirs?"Here, once a moment, I have finished eating, satisfied, full, ended the meal, satisfied myself, satisfied, and left my food devastated deserve to be thrown away. Then there are two monks come, hungry and exhausted. I can say to these two: "Monks, I have finished eating, satisfied, full, ended the meal, pleasantly pleased, satisfied, and left this food endless. If you want to eat, if you do not want to eat, I will throw it in the place where there is no green grass, or I will throw it into the water where there are no living creatures. " Then a monk may think as follows: "Now the Blessed One has finished, satisfied, full, ended the meal, pleasurable delight, satisfactory, and this is the food of the World Exalted, If we do not eat, the Blessed One will throw the food in the place where there is no green grass, Or will be dropped into the water without beings in it.But the Buddha said: "Be bhikkhus, be my Dharma heirs, do not be material heirs."This is the kind of material; This food, let's not eat this food and spend the night today, hungry and exhausted. "Then he did not eat this food and spent the night there, starving and exhausted. Second rate-second thought: "Blessed food was completed, satisfied, full, ended the meal, satisfied feelings, satisfied; And this is the cruel food of the Exalted, worth dropping. If we do not eat, the Blessed One will throw the food in the place where there is no green grass, or it will drop into the water where there are no living beings. Let's eat this kind of food, with the exception of hunger and exhaustion, and spend the night today. "Then he ate that kind of food, except for hunger and exhaustion, and spend the night thereafter. O bhikkhus, for this bhikkhu, after eating this kind of food, to eliminate hunger and exhaustion, and spend the night that day, but for me, bhikkhu first worth respected, and deserving of praise. Why? As such it will give to him, for a long time, little education, know enough, ascetic, easy to nurture, need, effort. Thus, bhikkhus, be heirs of my own Fa, do not be heirs of material things.Effortless. Thus, bhikkhus, be heirs of my own Fa, do not be heirs of material things.Effortless. Thus, bhikkhus, be heirs of my own Fa, do not be heirs of material things. The Buddha preached so. After saying the word, the Buddha from the seat to get up, go to the monastery. At that time, Venerable Sariputta, after the Blessed One went soon, immediately called the monks: "Be gentleman-monks!" - "Praise the sage," the bhikkhus obeyed Sariputta. Lord Sariputta said:"How are the sages, how do the teachers live without long-distance learning?" And how did the Master live long distances and his disciples study far away? " "Sage, we distance ourselves to understand the meaning of this saying from Sariputta." If Sariputta preached the meaning of that saying, after hearing Sariputta, Bhikkhus, so listen and clever, I will preach. "-" Yes, sage, "the monks obeyed Sariputta. The author of Sariputta says:- This is the Hien, where the Teacher lived long distance that the students do not learn to distance. The methods that the Master teaches to abandon, they do not give up, and they live in fullness, lazy, led to fall, abandoned the burden of life.In this case, the bhikkhus have three cases to be reproved. The Master lived faraway, the disciples do not study distance. That is the first case, the Venerable Bhikkhu deserves reproach. And what Dharma teachers should give up, they do not abandon them. That is the second case, the Venerable Bhikkhu deserves reproach. And they live full, lazy, leading to fallen, abandoned the burden of living far away.
