* Cf. Vinaya i, 100.
Bhikkhus, there are four not crazy about consciousness, not crazy about mind, not crazy about views. What four types? Bhikkhus, [considered] the impermanence is impermanence that is not crazy about consciousness, not crazy about mind, not crazy about views. [See] that suffering is suffering that is not crazy about consciousness, not crazy about mind, not crazy about perspective. [See] what is not self is not that self, it is not crazy about consciousness, not crazy about mind, not crazy about perspective. [See] the evil is the evil that is not crazy about consciousness, not crazy about the mind, not crazy about the point of view. Bhikkhus, these are not crazy about consciousness, not crazy about mind, not crazy about views.
'Beings are only misleading
with the mind being misled and misleading
' Considering everlasting change
Seeing suffering as happiness, treating self as
what is not self, regards beauty and defilement, [81] -
Such people adventure on the road to crazy perception
Is the product of crazy mind, sickness
Slavery for  Māra , not free from bondage,
Beings being rebirth.
But when the Buddhas, radiant light
Appears in the world, transmitting the Dharma,
to ease suffering. Listening to the Buddhas' teachings,
sentient beings are lucid, their minds recover and see
impermanence as impermanent, suffering
It is true that suffering, seeing that which is not self is not self, considers uncleanness to be unclean.
Thanks to such right view, they overcome all suffering. (A ii 52) *

2. In the [chief] knowledge attainment [because he is the one who enters the stream], are these four crazy islands abandoned or not abandoned?
There is a renunciation, there is no renunciation. Crazy about consciousness, crazy about the mind, crazy about the view [considered] the impermanence that is enduring in him is abandoned. Awareness [considered] the suffering for happiness arises, the mind also arises, but in him crazy about such a view is abandoned. Crazy about awareness, crazy about the mind, crazy about the view [considered] what is not the self for the self in which he was abandoned. Consciousness [considered] the evil that is beautiful to arise, the mind also arises, but in that person he is crazy about such a view that is abandoned.
3. In two cases [the first and third] six crazy islands are abandoned. In two cases [Monday and Wednesday] two crazy islands are abandoned and four crazy islands are not abandoned. In [all] four cases of eight crazy islands are abandoned and four crazy islands are not abandoned. [first]
TERMINATION ON THE ISLAND

[1]  At first, the four crazy are recounted in four (cases) that is considered impermanence is often, considering suffering is happy, considered not falling as a self, considering defile is beautiful. Here, the last part of the crazy island is said to be three, that is crazy perception, crazy mind, crazy view; thus all are 'twelve' ('eight' and 'four') in the four 'cases' above.
