[VI- DISCUSSION ON REHABITATION TO COME]
« Gatikathā  »
 1. [72] (i) In the case of birth into the realm of luck, [at the next moment of rebirth], in how many causes, is its conditional rebirth  [1]  associated with the mind?
(ii) In the case  khattiyas *  rich, brahmans rich, lay riches, deva worlds, [at the moment continuing rebirth], in how many people, reborn with its conditions linked with the mind?
All kings and tribal chiefs were khattiyas, the highest-ranking Indians of the time. Read Nhu Nhien,  Analytical , note number 68, chapter 17, page 531.
(iii) In the case of the celestial beings, in the next moment of rebirth, in how many causes does it have its conditional rebirth connected with the mind?
(iv) In the case of the devas realms the formless world, [in the moment of the next rebirth], in how many causes, is it conditioned by its connection with the mind?
(i) In the case of birth into the blessed realm, [at the moment of continuation of rebirth], its conditioned rebirth in the eight causes is associated with the mind.
(ii) In the case of the   rich khattiyas, the rich brahmans, the rich laity, the devas of the sex world, [at the moment of the next rebirth], its conditioned rebirth of the eight causes connected with the mind.
(iii) In the case of the celestial beings, in the next instant of rebirth, its conditioned rebirth in the eight causes is connected with the mind.
(iv) In the case of the devas, which are formless, [in the next moment of rebirth], its conditioned rebirth in the eight causes is connected to the mind.
2. In the case of birth into the realm of luck, [at the moment of the next rebirth], which of the eight causes has its conditions associated with the mind?
At the moment of the impulse  [2]  of good deeds [of the previous life], the three virtues are the conditions co-existing to be intentionally created at that moment; So the phrase 'with good deeds conditions should have fruitful acts' is said. [3]  At the moment of attachment [just before death],  [4] the  two causes [which are craving and ignorance] are unwholesome, conditions which coexist to be intentionally created at that moment; thus the phrase 'with unwholesome causes conducts fruitful acts' is spoken. At the moment of birth [in a new life] three determinants  [5] are conditions coexisting to intentionally created at that moment; so the phrase 'with the mind-object which conducts the consciousness and with the condition-consciousness there is the mind-object' is said. 2*
impulse ( javana ): nđ 'express'. As a function of the mind, it is appropriate for the stage of the cognitive process that immediately follows the defining stage   [that is in the sense-door process. In the process of the mind-door, the javana stage follows the mind towards the mind-door] and consists of a series (usually 7 of the same type of mind) that take place very fast   « speed »  on the object to learn it. Morally, the javana stage is important because at this stage, kusala cittas or akusala cittas arise in those who are not arahants (for Arahant, this javana stage is uncertain). Like CAF Rhys Davids, Bhikkhu Bodhi proposed to leave the word  javana untranslated  . Read Bhikkhu Bodhi, A Comprehensive Manual of Abhidhamma , BPS, [Kandy 1993], paragraph (12), p. 124, footnote 8, 9, p. 372, p. 389. The word 'process' ( v . sđđ ,đ. 4 pages 151.
2 * tena vuccati - nāmarūpapaccayā pi viññāṇaṁ viññāṇapaccayā pi nāmarūpaṁ.  Read footnote 6 in paragraph 17 ahead.
3. At the time of the next rebirth, the five aggregates are coexistence conditions, [73] reciprocal conditions, dependent conditions and unincorporated conditions. At the moment of the next rebirth, the four main factors are coexistence conditions, reciprocal conditions, dependent conditions, and non-coherent conditions. At the moment of the next rebirth, the three factors that create life [a lifetime, heat, consciousness 5a ] are coexistence  , reciprocal, dependent, and non-associative conditions. At the moment of rebirth, the mind and the objects are conditions of coexistence, conditions of reciprocity, conditions of dependence and conditions of non-union.
In continuation reborn moments, fourteen conditions  are the same existing conditions, conditions of mutual conditions and the conditions depend  not  combined. 2*
* these fourteen conditions ( cuddasa dhammā ) are: 5 sets + 4 main elements + 3 life-giving elements + (1) consciousness + (1) object = 14.
2 * non-matching condition ( vippayuttapaccayā )
4. At the moment of the next rebirth, the four sets of consciousness are co-existing, reciprocal, dependent, and associative conditions. At the moment of the next rebirth, the five forces of influence [of faith, tons ...] are coexistence, reciprocal, dependent and combined conditions. At the moment of the next rebirth, the three causes are co-existing, reciprocal, dependent and combined conditions. At the moment of rebirth, the mind  and consciousness are conditions of coexistence, reciprocity, dependent conditions and conditions of union.
mind [ nāma ]: translated by Nyanatiloka Thera,  Buddhist Dictionary , page 103.
At the moment of the rebirth, these fourteen conditions  are coexistence, reciprocal, dependent, and associative. 2*
* these fourteen conditions ( cuddasa dhammā ) are: 4 sets of mind + 5 powers to influence + 3 causes + (1) consciousness + (1) object = 14.
2 * combined conditions ( sampayuttapaccayā )
5. At the moment continuing rebirth, twenty eight conditions  are the same existing conditions, conditions of mutual conditions and the conditions depend  not  combined. 2*
14 conditions in dd. 3 + 14 conditions in dd. 4 = 28.
2 * When adding up to 28 conditions ( aṭṭhavīsati dhammā ), 14 conditions combined ( sampayuttapaccayā ) mentioned in e. 4 + 14 conditions  do not  combine ( vippayuttapaccayā ) here. 3 = 28 conditions  do not  match.
6. In the case of birth into the realm of luck, [at the moment of continuation of rebirth], its conditioned rebirth is associated with the position of these eight causes.
7-10. (ii) In the case of the   rich khattiyas, the rich brahmans, the rich laity, the celestial beings, ?
At the moment of impetus ... [repeats paragraphs 2-5]. [74]
11. In the case of the   rich khattiyas, the rich brahmans, the rich laity, the devas of the sex world, [at the moment of the next rebirth], its conditional rebirth is linked to the mind in these eight causes.
12-15. (iii) In the case of the celestial beings, in the next instant of rebirth, in the eight causes ... [repeat paragraphs 2-5].
16. In the case of the celestial realms of the celestial realm, [at the next moment of rebirth], its conditional rebirth is linked to the position of these eight causes.
17. (iv) In the case of the devas, which are formless, [in the next moment of rebirth], which of the eight causes has its conditions associated with the mind? [75]
At the moment of impulse ... 2 until] ... so the sentence 'with the conditioned mind there should be consciousness and because there is the conditioned condition there is mind' is spoken. [6]
18. At the next moment of rebirth, the four sets of consciousness ... [repeat paragraph 4 until] ... conditions of union.
19. At the moment of the next rebirth, these fourteen conditions are coexistence, reciprocal, dependent, and associative. 6
20. In the case of the devas realms formless world, [at the moment of succession rebirth], its conditioned rebirth in the eight causes associated with the mind.
21. (i) In the case of birth into the realm of luck, [at the next moment of rebirth], in how many causes, is it conditioned by its non-attachment to the mind?
(ii) In the case of the   rich khattiyas, the rich brahmans, the rich laity, the celestial beings, with the mind?
(i) In the case of being born in the blessed realm, [at the moment of the next rebirth], its conditioned rebirth in the six causes is not connected to the mind.
(ii) In the case of the   rich khattiyas, the rich brahmans, the rich laity, the celestial beings, with the mind. [7]
22. (i) In the case of being born in the blessed realm, [at the moment of continuation of rebirth], of the six causes, does its conditional rebirth be unrelated to the mind?
At the impulsive moment of good deeds [of previous lives], the two causes of goodness are the conditions coexisting to intentionally be created at that moment; So the phrase 'with good deeds conditions should have fruitful acts' is said. At the moment of attachment [just before death], the two causes [that are craving and ignorance] are unwholesome, conditions which coexist in order to be intentionally created at that moment; thus the phrase 'with unwholesome causes conducts fruitful acts' is stated. At the moment of birth [in a new life] the two indeterminate nuclei are conditions coexisting for the master to be created at that moment; therefore, the phrase 'with the mind-object which conducts the consciousness, and because there is the condition-condition, the mind-object' can be said.
23. At the time of the rebirth, the five assemblies ... [repeat đ. 3]
At the moment of the rebirth, these fourteen conditions are coexistence, reciprocal, dependent and  non-  coherent. [8]
24. At the next moment of rebirth, the four sets  [9]  are co-existing conditions, ... At the next instant of rebirth, the four forces of influence [remove the capacity to influence wisdom ] are conditions of coexistence, ... At the next moment of rebirth, the two causes [that are no greed, no hatred] are conditions of coexistence, ... At the next moment of rebirth, mind  and consciousness are coexistence conditions, reciprocal conditions, dependent conditions and conditions of association.
At the moment of rebirth, these twelve conditions are coexistence, reciprocal, dependent, and associative. [77]
25. At the moment of birth, twenty-six  conditions are coexistence conditions, reciprocal conditions, dependent conditions and non-matching conditions.
14 (at 23) + 12 (at 24) = 26.
26. In the case of birth into the realm of luck, [at the moment of continuation of rebirth], its conditioned rebirth is not associated with the position of these six causes.
27-30. (ii) In the case of the   rich khattiyas, the rich brahmans, the rich laity, the celestial beings, with the mind?
At the moment of impetus ... [repeats paragraphs 22-25].
