According to legend, when his mother went to the forest to visit the scene, it rained heavily and she gave birth to him at that time. After leaving home with the Buddha, he liked to practice in the mountains and forests, often standing under banana trees, so he was also known as La-Han Ba Tieu. Once, the Buddha subdued a demon dragon in a deep lagoon. Admiring the Buddha's virtue, love dragon asked him to stay at his place to be close to making offerings. The Buddha taught that he could not stay in one place for a long time, so he sent five Great Arahants, namely Sariputra, Moggallana, Nhan Kiet Da, Totinda and Buddha. Penalty-na-ba-four. When the venerable Phat-na-ba-tu came to receive offerings, he often liked to meditate on a large stone beside the lagoon, sometimes sit all week, sometimes sit for half a month. According to the Buddha's wishes, the false venerable turned the attention of King Cani-sac-ca. On the occasion of the king's hunting, the venerable masquerading as a white rabbit led the king to a shepherd who was using mud to build a Buddha tower. The shepherd said that Buddha prophesied that 400 years later, King Canishad would build a stupa to worship Buddha here. That shepherd is also the manifestation of Punishment. Since then, the king became a great monarch who propagated the Buddhadharma, built pagodas and temples, supported offerings to the Sangha, and organized the fourth collection of Buddhist scriptures in the capital Kathy-di-la. All these achievements are thanks to the profound teaching grace of Venerable Punishment-na-ba-tu. According to Phap Tru Ky, the venerable Phat-na-ba-tu is the fourteenth Arhat, and he and 1,400 La-Han people usually live in Kha Tru mountain. 2. Arhat Bo Dai [photo]His name is Nhan-yet-da 因羯陀 Nhan-kiet-da (Angada). According to legend, he was a snake catcher in India, this country has many poisonous snakes that often bite people, he caught them, broke all their poisonous fangs and released them to the mountain. That action comes from a high level of compassion, so he is seen as a symbol of compassion. After attaining enlightenment, he often carried a cloth bag with him to store snakes, coincidentally like Venerable Bo Dai in China. There was a man from the country of Ozhang who wanted to make a statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva, but he had not seen the Bodhisattva's face, so he did not dare to do it. He set up an incense altar in the flower garden to sincerely pray and invite a sage to come to help him. After he finished his vows, a Arhat appeared named Nhan-yet-da, came to take him to the Tusita heaven to meet Maitreya Bodhisattva. The venerable brought this person to the heavens before and after all three times to admire the dignified truth of the Bodhisattva. The created Bodhisattva statue is preserved in the capital city of Ozhang-na, thanks to the merits of the Venerable. La-Han is a person who is not born and never dies, comes and goes freely, they travel the world in all forms. La-Han Bo Dai has a fat figure, a big belly, and a large cloth bag beside him as the embodiment of Bodhisattva Maitreya, in the above story there is more or less related. According to Phap Tru Ky, he is the thirteenth Lahan, often with 1,300 Arahants residing in Quang Hiep mountain. 3. Arhat Cuu Bat His name is Canac-ca-bat-ly-falling-sample 迦諾迦跋釐墮蛇 (Kanakabharadvāja). He is the great disciple entrusted by the Buddha to teach the Dong Thang Than Chau area. The King of Sangha-la in the South Sea did not believe in the Buddha's teachings, and the false religion of Cana-ca sought to convert. One morning, while holding a mirror to look at his face, the king was startled because in the mirror, his face was not present, but the figure of the great monk Bach Yi. This is due to the divine transformation of the Venerable. On the advice of his courtiers, the king ordered a statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara to be worshiped and since then wholeheartedly believed in the Buddha. Mr. Huyen Trang, when he went to India, and stayed at Nalanda temple, heard the following story: After a few hundred years after the Buddha's Nirvana, the king of the country of Makati made a ceremony to become the Great Buddha temple. thousands of monks came to make offerings. When everyone started to eat food, suddenly two monks came down from the sky. The whole assembly was amazed, the king asked for his identity, one person called himself New Head in Tay-cudani continent, the other called Canaca in Dong Thang Than Chau. The King was pleased to invite two Venerables to prove his sanity. After finishing the life, the two laughed and said: - Hey guys, 16 Arhat we will forever stay in the world, practicing together with all sincere Buddhists in the next life. Venerable Canacca often carries an iron bowl with him when traveling for alms, so he is called La-Han Cu Bat. According to Phap Chu Ky, he is the third La Han, often with 600 Arahants residing in Dong Thang Than Chau. 4. Arhat Hang Long His name is Nanda-mata-la 難提密多 (Nandimitra), Chinese translation Khanh Huu, born 800 years after the Buddha's death, resided in the country of Lion. He is a great Arhat, generous, dignified and dignified. Legend has it that once the whole Lion Island was drowned by the Dragon King, the false religious surrendered to that dragon and was given the title La-Han Hang Long. When he was about to pass away, everyone was sad and afraid because the world would no longer have a Arhat. He said that there were 16 Arhats who obeyed the Buddha's orders to stay in the Saha realm to support the Buddha's teachings. His teachings were recorded in the series "Pharma Pillar". After saying "French Head Record", Venerable Khanh Huu flew into the air to manifest countless gods, then used the fire to burn his body. Five-colored relics fell like rain, people scrambled to pick them up and bring them back to worship. Although he burned his body, but he did not leave the country of Lion, he flew back to the rock cave on the mountain to meditate. In a blink of an eye, it was more than 400 years, when the venerable one came out of the meditation, he took his bowl down the mountain to beg for alms, and saw that the landscape had changed. He recalculated and discovered that he had been meditating for more than 400 years, and burst out laughing. After that, he often appeared everywhere, sometimes holding bowls, sometimes teaching sutras… People still believe that he will never leave the world, but always with the other 16 Arhats to continue spreading. * Version: Venerable Nan-de-m-dala is the 17th La-Han, because everyone remembers his gratitude for saying the Phap Tru Ky. 5. Arhat Khai Tam The image of revealing the chest to reveal the Buddha's mind. His name is Thu-bac-ca 戍博迦 (Jivaka). Thu-bac-ca was originally a famous Brahmin, heard that the Buddha's body was one foot and six high, but did not believe it, so he cut down a bamboo tree exactly one foot six in length to personally measure the Buddha. Strangely, no matter how measured, the Buddha's body is still slightly taller. Beast-baby found a long ladder and climbed the ladder again, same result. Measured up to ten times, there is no longer ladder but the Buddha's body is still taller. At this time, he really admired and took refuge as a disciple. After leaving home, after seven years of asceticism, he attained Arahantship. Because he wanted to celebrate the Buddha's predestined relationship to become a monk, he took the pole before, went to the old place and said: - If the Buddhadharma is the truth for thousands of years, then this pole will grow back and grow here. Having said this, He put the pole in the ground. The pole suddenly sprouted leaves. Later, from that place grew a lush bamboo forest spreading throughout the region, people called that place Truong Lam. The masses of Buddhists come to admire the miraculous evidence of the Buddha's measuring stick. Here, the forest is arid and wild, with a serious lack of drinking water, so the venerable Thu-bac-ca immediately transformed into two hot springs, one cold for everyone to freely use. These two springs are located ten miles southwest of Truong Lam. The people of this area are forever grateful for the virtue of the Venerable. According to Phap Tru Ky, Mr. Thu-bac-ca is the ninth Arhat, often with 900 Arhats residing in Huong Tuy mountain. 6. Arhat Khang Mon His name is Chu-tra-selling-waterfall-ca, or Chau-loi-table-special 周利槃特 (Cullapatka). Buddhist legends refer to him as an example of diligence and patience. Because he was not as smart as him, when he left home, he could not absorb the Buddha's teachings, even folding his legs to meditate was not enough. Later, under the compassionate instruction of the Blessed One, he practiced sweeping the dust with a broom in hand. Through perseverance, dedication to practice the Buddha's teachings, wiping out all defilements inside and out, he attained Sainthood. One day, the great minister of the city of Vajrasattva invited the Buddha and the Arahants to the house to receive a meal. Venerable Ban-thac-ca did not know that his brother had witnessed the fruit, so he did not issue attendance cards. When he was ready to live, the Buddha told Ban Thac-ca to go back to the monastery to see if there were any people left. When he returned to Truc Lam, he saw thousands of monks meditating scattered in the garden. Surprised and using celestial eyes to observe, only to discover that it was his brother's joke, the Venerable was happy and touched, praising the work of Chau-loi-table-den. According to the legend, while going for alms, the venerable knocked on the door of a certain house and knocked down the old broken door. This is also confusing! Later, the Buddha gave the Venerable a stick with small bells hanging so that he wouldn't have to knock on people's doors. If the owner wants to give alms, he will come out when he hears the bell ring. The knocking stick became the symbol of the Venerable, and a familiar image in Buddhist activities. According to Phap Tru Ky, Venerable is the sixteenth La-Han, along with 1,600 A-la-Han people who reside at Tri Truc mountain. 7. Arhat Khanh Hy His name is Canac-ca-phah-tha 迦諾 迦伐磋 (Kanakavatsa), also known as Yet-nac-ca-phah-sa. The Buddha often praised him as the most clear distinction between market and disparity Arhat. When he had not left home, he was a very disciplined person, keeping from word to action, even a bad thought would not arise. After he left home, he tried to practice diligently, Thanks to his deep good roots, he proved to be Arahant very quickly. He often traveled everywhere with a cheerful face and used his eloquence to preach the Dharma to persuade sentient beings. Seeing that people often unintentionally create a lot of bad karma every day, in the future, they will suffer from hell, so when he teaches, he often explains the doctrine of good and bad cause and effect, helping sentient beings clearly distinguish for correction. Once, passing through the village, saw a family killing countless buffaloes, goats, chickens and ducks to celebrate their longevity. He stopped by and lectured for a while on the method of wishing a long life, on how to celebrate a birthday to live a long and happy life, to repay the gift of birth. He taught that the birthday is a day of hardship and hardship for the mother, so it is the child's destiny to not eat, drink and play, on the contrary, he should meditate on the grace of his parents, determined to practice and achieve the path of karma. By teaching truthfully, The venerable one's life is like a lighthouse that brings the light of the Buddha's teachings to life. According to Phap Chu Ky, he is the second Lahan, often with 500 Lahats in the country of Ca-low-dila (Kashmir). 8. Arhat Khoai Er His name is Na-age-tena 那伽犀那 (Nāgasena) or also known as Na Tien. Nāgasena in Sanskrit means army of dragons and symbolizes supernatural power. Na Tien, born in northern India, is a famous Arhat for his argument. His time met when King Ilanda ruled, the king was a Greek who liked to speak. Hearing that the venerable Na Tien was a multi-literate scholar, the king personally interviewed him. The interrogation between the emperor and the estranged bhikkhu has left us with an immortal work "Sutta of Na Tien Bhikkhu", which both the Southern and Northern Tradition have preserved up to now. Thanks to the teachings of the venerable Na Tien, King Dilanda eventually became a wise king who wholeheartedly supported the Buddhadharma. There is a place where Mr. Na Tien specializes in the practice of the ear, and his statue depicts an interesting Arhat picking his ear. Every sound entering the ear helps to manifest the nature of hearing, very permanent and very beneficial. From the ear canal, the pine tree develops the true root, back to using the sound of the Dharma to bring people into the religion, that is the symbolic meaning of the venerable Na Tien. According to Phap Tru Ky, he is also the twelfth Lahan, often with 1,200 Arahants residing in the Ban-do-three mountain. 9. Arhat Cavalry His name is Caly-ca 迦哩迦 (Kalica), before leaving home to work as an elephant trainer. When the Venerable attained Arahantship, the Buddha told him to stay in his hometown (Ceylon) to support the Buddhadharma. The Buddha came to Ceylon to preach the Lankavatara Sutra, Venerable is also one of the disciples to follow. The Buddha was about to leave the island, King Yaksha asked the Buddha to leave a memory on the island as a belief for posterity. The Blessed One imprinted his footprints on a mountain, where it became Buddha Tuc Son, and asked the venerable Kalya to preserve this relic. Fo Tuc Son is famous everywhere, everyone rushes to worship. Over time it was forgotten, the road leading to the mountain was covered with wild grass. On the occasion that the king of Ceylon, Datmani-abaa, was chased by the enemy, he fled to a mountain cave, the Venerable Master transformed into a beautiful flower deer to lure the king up the mountain to reveal his mark. Buddha's feet. After many successive dynasties, Fo Tu Son was again empty of visitors. The venerable once again turned into a maiden who stole flowers in the king's garden. When arrested, the young girl pointed to the mist-covered mountain, saying that she had picked flowers to worship Buddha there. Since then, Buddha Tuc Son has deeply engraved images in people's hearts, every year until the 15th day of the third lunar month, the masses flock together to worship the relic without stopping. According to Phap Tru Ky, Venerable Caly-ca is the seventh La-Han, along with 1,000 A-la-Han people who always stay at the Tra Chau Sangha (Ceylon). 10. Arhat Phuc Ho His name is Dat-mada-la 達磨多羅 (Dharmatrāta), who lives in Ha Lan mountain, Gansu province. When he was a child, he went to the temple and loved to admire the image of 16 Arhats worshiping in the temple. Master also often told the boy the miraculous stories of the Arhats, gradually in the childish spirit imprinted with their images, even when sleeping. One day while contemplating the ceremony, Datma-dala suddenly saw the image of La Han moving, some waved their hands, some blinked like real people. Thinking that he was dizzy, Dat-Madala fixed his mind to look closely, This time more clearly, some of them even smiled brightly. Since then, the Dalai Lama has been more diligent in celebrating, and every day has witnessed the miracles of inspiration. Dalai Lama asked a La-Han how to practice to become a La-Han. He instructed him to be diligent in meditating, reading sutras, and doing good deeds. Dat-ma-dala developed the mind to practice, to carry out the teachings of the Arhat, so it won't take long for the results to come to fruition. Becoming an arahant with free rein, he often traveled in the human world, preached sutras, had an accident, and immediately went out of his way to help. Three times the venerable master subdued a fierce tiger and brought it back to the mountain for a monk. Wherever he went, he took it with him. In addition to his image, a tiger was drawn, and he became known as La Han Phuc Ho. La-Han Hang Long and La-Han Phuc Ho are two added to the list of Sixty-Law Lahans, to become a legend forever worshiped. 11. Arhat Qua Giang His name is Batta-la 跋陀羅 (Bhadra). Bhadala is also called Hien, because his mother gave birth to him under the Bhadda tree, that is, the sage tree. According to legend, the venerable one loves to take a bath, showering one to ten times a day, and thus wasting time and delaying work. For example, when people eat food, he goes to take a bath, when he comes to eat, the rice and vegetables are gone. Many evenings, he secretly took a bath while everyone was in meditation. Even sleeping in the middle of the night wakes up to take a shower, sometimes five or six times a night! This came to the Buddha's ears. The World-Honored One called the venerable one to come and teach him how to take a practical bath, that is, in addition to cleansing the body, he also had to cleanse his mind of impurities, and wash away greed, anger, and afflictions so that both body and mind would be pure. Receiving the Buddha's teachings, the Venerable practiced according to the true meaning of bathing, diligently washing the mind should soon be arahant. Since then, bathing is a practical useful practice that the Master often advises people. Chinese monasteries often worship Him in the bathhouse to remind them of their reflective meanings. Religion also often sails to propagate the islands of eastern India such as Java, Jakarta ... should be named La-Han Qua Giang. According to Phap Chu Ky, he is the sixth Lahan, often with 900 Arahants staying at Dam-a-la-chau. 12. Arhat Thap Thap His name is To-tin-da 蘇頻陀 (Subinda). Usually, he practiced very strictly, helping people enthusiastically but rarely liked to talk. The venerable one rarely followed the Buddha out, he just stayed in the monastery reading books or sweeping the yard. Some people criticized his way of speaking not well, the Buddha knew to be comforted: "Hey To-Tin-da! Talking good or bad has nothing to do with enlightenment. Everyone just needs to follow my teachings and practice, even if they don't say a word, they will achieve liberation." It is true that Venerable One rarely wastes time on chatting, only spending all his time in zazen, so he attained Arahantship very soon. At that time, the king of Adala wanted to build a solitary monastery on Hac Phong mountain, but he could not find large rocks. The venerable only needed one night of magical power to bring countless huge stones from the other side of the Ganges. The king wanted to create a huge golden statue in the monastery, but the national barn was not enough. The venerable only needed to drop a few drops of water on the stones, they all turned into gold. The king was happy to call the best craftsmen to come and get gold to cast statues for the people to admire. Five hundred years after the Buddha's extinction, Venerable many times incarnated in the country of Kanda-la to teach. His image is created with a miniature stupa in his hand, the tower is the place to worship Buddha's relics, keeping the tower by his side is to keep the life of the Buddha Dharma, so he is called La-Han Lifting Tower. According to Phap Tru Ky, Mr. To Tan Da is the fourth Lahan, often with 700 Arahants, most of them stay in Bac Cau Lo Chau. 13. Arhat Detective Thu The image of raising his hands up is very refreshing of a La-Han after meditation. His name is Ban-thacka? 半託迦 (Panthaka), Chinese translation: Bien Sinh Avenue. He is the brother of Chau-loi-table-special. Legend has it that both brothers were born on the side of the road, when their mother returned to her motherland to give birth according to Indian custom. Half-thac-ca grew up as an intellectual young man, and whenever he followed his grandfather to listen to the Buddha's teachings, he intended to leave home. With the approval of his family, he joined the Sangha, become a bhikkhu-stilts strong effort, soon a result of A-la-Han. Remembering his brother, Chau-loi-table-den, he returned to guide her in ordination. Unfortunately, at first, he saw that his brother was too ignorant, so he advised him to return to the world. It is also because of love and responsibility, so the venerable one treats him like that, absolutely not angry or hateful. Later, when Chau-loi-table-specially certified the Holy fruit, it was the Venerable Selling-thac-ca who was happier than anyone else. Both brothers led each other to the Dharma hall, and the crowd was moved to praise and applaud. The Buddha taught: "San Thac-ca and Chau-profit-table-special, it is difficult for anyone like your two brothers, to have both left home to study the Way, and have eradicated defilements and defilements, and attained Arahantship. - Han. In the future, the two of you should join hands to save the human world to propagate the Buddhadharma." The two venerable monks obeyed the Buddha, so they often turned to be happy to save sentient beings. Every time the animals came face to face with Him, they were afraid to flee. After he left home, he tried his best to practice and attain La-Han results. There was also a lion that often entwined with him, so he was nicknamed La-Han Joking Lion. To the north of Truc Lam Monastery, there is a Calanda pond, with cool water that can cure many diseases, and the Buddha often went there to teach the Dharma. After the Buddha's extinction, the pond water suddenly dried up, and outsiders spread the news that the Buddha's teachings were in decline. Venerable Pāsāla-la-pad-dala flew from the continent of Prajnaparamita, Pointing at the pond with his hand, the water immediately filled up again. The false religion told everyone that: - The pond water dried up because people did not have firm faith in the Buddhadharma. If everyone obeys the Buddha's teachings, has faith in them and serves them as they did when the Buddha was still alive, then I can guarantee that the water in the pond will never dry up. Everyone listened to the Venerable Master's words, admired the majesty and fervently upheld the Buddha's Dharma, so they developed faith in the Three Jewels. Since then, the pond water is always clear and full. Through the above story, we can see that the Arhats are always in the human world to promote the Buddha's teachings. According to Phap Tru Ky, he is the 8th La Han, usually with 1,100 La Han? stationed in the continent of Bat-sakha-noa. 15. Arhat Tinh Sits His name is Nac-cù-la 諾矩羅 (Nakula). When following the Buddha's ordination, he attained Arahantship in the sitting posture. At the time of the Venerable, there was a non-Buddhist Ut-tau-lam-tzu who practiced high meditation and argued in the hope of conquering him with his magic. But with true faith, the Venerable affirms that only by practicing zazen, contemplating with wisdom, enduring patience, and strictly observing the pure precepts, will one attain the unchanging concentration power. The Dharma of cultivation in the outside world can only be temporarily concentrated, cannot abide permanently in the dharma of liberation, and when it encounters external disturbances, it will be destroyed. Later, indeed, Ut-tau-lam-tzu enjoyed the warm offerings of the king of the country of Makita, because of the hopelessness of his mind, the whole practice dissipated, and after death, he fell into hell. Venerable Nuckula clearly saw that with his celestial eye, and once again warned King Makita: - That is the ultimate practice of the pagan religion, the basic afflictions of people have not yet been established. completely eradicated. The King listened to the Venerable's explanation to understand the precious and true Buddhadharma, and aroused faith in the Venerable. According to Phap Tru Ky, Venerable Nac-cu-la is ranked in the fifth position of La-Han, he often and 800 A-la-Han stay in Nam Thiem Bo Chau. 16. On the occasion of one day, the Venerable used his supernatural powers to take a precious bowl hanging on the high pillar of a wealthy man, and was rebuked by the Buddha for performing miracles, making people misunderstand the purpose of studying Buddhism. The Buddha taught that the Venerable must stay forever in the human world to do meritorious deeds for sentient beings, so in the Dharma assemblies the Venerable Master often acts as an offering. Once in the Five Dynasties period, during the reign of King Ngo Viet, there was a strange monk, thin in appearance, long white eyebrows flew to sit in the seat reserved for distinguished guests and ate happily. After eating He declared He was the New Head. Under King Ashoka and King Luong Vo De, he personally appeared to teach and increase faith. During the Eastern Jin period, Dao An was a high-ranking monk who translated the scriptures, often worried because he was afraid that his translation would be wrong. He prayed for the Sages to show miracles to prove. That night, he dreamed that a white-browed monk said: - I am the New Head in India, as a great Arahant, I guarantee that the scriptures he translated are very good. exactly. Venerable Tan-tou-lo is a Lahan very close to the world, Phap Tru Ky ranks him as the first Lahan, often with 1,000 Arhat in Tay Nguu Hoa Chau. 17. Arhat Tram Tu [photo]He is La-hula-la 羅喉羅 (Rāhula). There was a monk holding a bowl for alms in the city, but no one in the whole city noticed. It was very difficult for him to meet a family that believed in Buddhism and offered a bowl of hot porridge. The Venerable Master sighed after taking a sip of the porridge, the benefactor asked about it, he was told by the Venerable Master that when the Buddha was still alive, he also followed the Buddha to come here for alms. The Venerable Master revealed his identity as Rahula, For hundreds of years, he has devoted himself to the propagation of Buddhism. According to Phap Chu Ky, he is the eleventh arhat, usually with 1,100 Arahants staying in Tat Loi-yang. 18. A week later, the crown prince died, the king temporarily did not hold a funeral, the next day the king went to see the venerable Atida, he sympathized with the king, but when the king met the pagans, he heard congratulations. Thanks to the propagation of the Venerable, the Buddha Dharma flourished in this country. It has been more than 2,000 years, but in India, it is still believed that the venerable Atisha is still treating people who often meditate in the mountains.
