Gratitude The First Sutta Of The Buddha. Gratitude The Buddha's First Sutta 1 After Shakyamuni Buddha attained Perfect Enlightenment, the first sutta he taught was the Speechless Sutta. The core of the sutta is gratitude. At that time, the Buddha expressed gratitude to the Bodhi tree (Pippala tree), where he sat under the tree and was sheltered from rain and sun for many weeks until he became a Buddha. The key thing here is: Be grateful but not attached, always see this world in its true form of no-self. Gratitude here is a natural emotion, neither sought nor waited. Obviously, gratitude is a natural quality that manifests not only in the wise on the spiritual path, but also in all sentient beings. Gratitude is appreciation, respect, reciprocate the help of others, both physically and mentally. In today's life, when the age of technology, sometimes ingratitude, ingratitude are on the throne, we need to criticize and exclude. Hoa Thuong Minh Chau mentioned this idea in the Tang Chi Sutra that grateful people are hard to find in life. However, when seeing the true nature of things: suffering - emptiness - impermanence - not-self, gratitude does not carry attachment. Many of us often have a comparative mentality, thinking that my house is more beautiful than yours, my children are better than yours, the goods I make are better than theirs...... All these These attitudes are not correct. Broadly speaking, all sentient beings in this world must understand that gratitude is a good moral of the Vietnamese people in particular and mankind across the five continents in general. inherited and developed through generations. Gratitude helps people to bond with each other, promote the beautiful and compassionate lifestyle of the nation. Depending on your own position and circumstances, let's show our gratitude to our country, parents, ancestors, friends, etc., for giving us a good life. However, if you do not understand clearly, sometimes you get stuck in comparison, stubbornness, discrimination over loss. Such gratitude is attachment and only breeds conceit. That is why the Buddha sometimes brought out the image of a forest tree to teach sentient beings that the antidote to clinging is to uproot the tree, chop it up, and even burn it until there is no dust left in order to get rid of it. the attachment of the three poisons: greed - hatred - delusion. Thus, gratitude always accompanies letting go, not getting stuck in conditioned things and then also depending on conditions to perish. We lay people show our gratitude and gratitude not only when we go to the temple, sit and chant in the main hall but also in our daily life, right in the middle of this busy world, where that we have to confront the real life and deal with countless external circumstances that can cause hurt, hatred, hatred....however, we must always be grateful for all that is gained. and loss, both success and failure. Because that failure and loss is an expensive lesson for me. Speaking of which, some of us might remember the 5th thing (of the 108 teachings of the Dalai Lama): “Give thanks to your enemies, for they are your most important teachers. They train you to cope with suffering and develop patience, tolerance, and compassion.” On the occasion of the whole country's joyful celebration of Khanh's Day, We would like to offer incense to express our deepest gratitude to the Three Jewels who have been and will give us the opportunity to learn and absorb the teachings of the Buddhas and Patriarchs. As Buddhists, let's show our gratitude by specific actions, depending on each person's ability and condition with the spirit of selflessness and non-attachment. In short, gratitude and gratitude need to be nurtured continuously in the soul, but that gratitude needs to be illuminated by the miraculous seal: impermanence, suffering, emptiness, not-self to not be trapped. Anyone who takes that as a guide, as a baggage in daily life, will surely become baby Bodhi trees, will flourish the garden of wisdom to nurture the countless formless Buddhas in the saha realm. this.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.1/7/2022.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
