The holy life increased Ananda

Chapter I

Blessed grace to be human

-ooOoo-
The special taste of Ananda (A Nan Da) in the rows of great Buddhas of Buddha began in ancient times, before entering the last life.
Just like the Buddha, Nan was born from the heavenly realm (Tusita) and born on the same day, reincarnated into the same class (knight) in the royal family of Sakyamuni, parallel to the Buddha.
The two relatives of the Buddha and of A Nan Da were originally brothers, so A Nan Da for the Buddha was naturally in the brotherhood (uncle). Nan Nan has three brothers, Anuruddha, Mahànàma, Pandu and his sister Rohini.
Anuruddha renunciates as A Nan Da, then adheres to the precepts, develops the wisdom of liberation, attains Arahantship, the highest Sangha, the Holy Arhat is also known as the Divine Eternal, for the Saints hey, after the public network will be freed, no more reincarnation.
Next is Mahànàma, though in the Crown Prince's monk to maintain Sakyamuni (Sakya), but also attains A Na Ham (ie, First-hand result, or the Holy fruit is only born again, and is released). .
Meanwhile, Pandu, the other son in the family, doesn't see the history books much, just summarizes that he is the only survivor of the Thich family. When Buddha was 80 years old.
Particularly the only sister of Ananda was Rohini, because of the fruit of jealousy from previous lives, suffered from severe skin-borne avalanche, day and night miserably hid in the closed room until the Buddha's degree, that is the bad fruit of evil karma from the previous life. When the Buddha was enlightened, she also became a spiritual practitioner, later reached the Holy Results of Entering Su Tu Hoan (Sotàpattimagga) ie entering the path will surely liberate.
The scriptures say: Rohini entered the Eucharist when he suddenly healed, and when he was full of life, he was born into the 33rd heaven, the King of Heavenly Love (Sakka).
According to Cula Vagga of the Vinaya Pitaka (Vinaya Pitaka), volume 8, Chapter 1, A Nan Da was 37 years old, when he and Anuruddha and his cousin Devadatta (Title of the Lady) came with some of the Shakyamuni aristocrats and entered. monastic life.
The teacher who made the ordination for Ananda is Saint Arhat Belatthasìsa. But the Dharma of this Master is saved in very few Tripitaka. We can only find the following verses:
"As a part of being a buffalo in misery,
Although a heavy plow is on the shoulder,
but still trying to move forward step by step, the
Monk is not afraid of danger. The
day with the month is the size of the Holy Spirit,
Measuring the merit height cultivator ... "
(Escape from Theragathà Ton Túc, number
  16)
Only by the simple and profound guidance of that verse, but Ananda has become more and more mature in the law of virtue. He was a vigilant disciple and was always on guard, so in the first season of the fall [1], he had achieved the Entry (according to Cula Vagga VII, 1).
After renunciation, one day A Nan Da told his fellow initiates that: "Elder Punna Mantàliputta helped him to make great progress in his practice. The elder gave the dharma to the novice monks, in which There is him, by teaching them to understand: Intolerance in self is born only through two assistants, Danh and Sac (formative thinking), ie through form and feeling. is through the level of thinking and the characteristics of nuances ".
To make it easier to understand, Punna Elder also gave an example: "If a person wants to know how his face is, or wants to see how they look, they must look into the mirror, or in Likewise, when the five aggregates (also known as the five aggregates [2]) constitute a human being, it only reveals its face of accepting ego through its appearance and thinking, ie DANH and IDENTITY! ".
Every six bases (or so-called green-base), ie, eye-base, rupa-base, Tanh-base, body-base, and Italian-base, in an individual, are also tied tightly to nāma and rūpa, which is also associated with appearance and thinking, of course there is a "I" appear! And when six apartments are no longer nourished by form and thinking again, then the "I" just disappears (according to Samyutta Nikàya 22, 83 - Tap A Functions 22, 83)
Nan is contemplating this comparison over and over again and more deeply, until he attained enlightenment (Dukkhāriyasacca), probably Impermanence (Aniccà) and the non-self (Aniccā). Anattà).Then he no longer let his inner mind be "nourished" by the five aggregates (or Lust and Sac), so that he began to reap the results of a life of dignity, first of all the Da Lu-Lupu .
Since then Ananda has always been perfect and calm with Sa Mon life. He recognized the peacefulness of happiness to deny (implying meekness in the monastic life), and to advance strongly on the Holy Path, such as a man who was floating in the sea, happy to find direction on the shore of the hill. The only buoy is the virtue of being alert or knowing yourself.
(According to the Vajrayana: Dasapàramitàsutta, the stream of reincarnation is only blocked by three banks, the other shore, the upper bank and the noble shore. The monastic or home-made goods, which attain the righteous dignity, cut off greed, that is to see Kia Coast!
In the early years of the life of Sa Mon, Ananda spent all his time in inner purity. He easily immersed himself in the Sangha community, then he gradually developed his spiritual strength prominently. When The Buddha and Nan Nan were both 55 years old, one day Buddha summoned them, and taught that:
"In the twenty years the school has guided the virtuous community, Tathagata has been approached closely by many disciples, but there has not been a disciple who voluntarily volunteered for Buddha in a definitive way. Such a disciple, and now Tathagata is 55 years old, but his body is like a carriage entering a stage of damage, Tathagata feels the need to speak out so that the attendant will automatically appear. "
The Buddha had just finished speaking and immediately all the most happy disciples volunteered to serve Buddha. But the Buddha was gentle and refused, then he was silent.
The gesture of the Buddha shows a special meaning. All the disciples present immediately thought of Ananda, who was sitting in a humble place, behind the elders, and he was the only one who had not yet volunteered for Buddha. Then they headed towards A Nan, asking him to step forward.
Due to the happiness and maturity, gathering from many previous lives, Ananda is the only one who will play the role of the apostle to approach Buddha. But there are some monks, who have not attained pure wisdom, expressed wonder: "Why is Ananda not among the first disciples to serve Buddha?".
A Nan Da politely answered:
- My faith is in the complete insight of the Almighty. I want to admire the Buddha's compassionate expression. Although in my heart I have volunteered to take on that responsibility for a long time, because one of the Sakyamuni people plays the role of the Buddhist patriarch, it will avoid the life of other class people, discontent to the Buddha. But I do not dare to be so willing, by virtue of World Religion is a level that fully understands all conditions. Only He chose the servant disciple to be the most certain, and He manifested.
The Buddha waited for A Nan Da to finish and declared:
- A Nan Da is the Buddha's disciple that Tathagata chooses. And from now on: In addition to serving Tathagata, he is also one of the Tathagata representatives to proclaim the commandment.
A Nan Da when he heard the Buddha's name confirms his position like that, instead of being proud of being raised by Buddha to the great disciples, Ananda has modestly asked the Liberator to give him the following eight conditions. here:
- Firstly Germany The Religion do not give priority to giving clothes to A Nan Da.
- Secondly, the Master does not beg for you to eat
- Third Venerable Master does not dedicate the Vihara to his residence.
- Fourthly, when there was a new master, the Buddha Master did not give priority to appointing him to attend the offerings of Trai Tang or offering offerings.
- On Thursday, if anyone wants to ask for Buddha's life, then he only needs to talk to Aanda, then Aanda will say back and Buddha will approve.
- On Friday when there are good people from far away, want to see the Tathagata, Ananda has the privilege of bringing them to the Buddha.
- On Saturday, if Nan Nan met questions in the Dharma, he was allowed to ask Buddha at any time.
- Eighth if the Blessed One preached in the time when Ananda was absent, he asked the Master to repeat the sermon for him to hear.
He then presented the reason he asked for the following eight things:
- Four things that require from the first to the fourth will avoid the miscreants of the monks and nuns, saying, "Ananda volunteered to approach Buddha only for profit!"
- There are four further requirements (from Thursday to eighth) that will dispel the critique of the people: "In the evening of the night, the Buddha took care of the Buddha in contact with the people, and the time to study religion, practice, develop virtue to liberate ...?! "
The Buddha of course accepted these eight praiseworthy requirements, because it was completely in line with the virtue of a Monk. And since then, A Nan Da has always been a companion, a servant who is a supporter of the Buddha in the twenty-five long years of virtue. The twenty-five-year long, but the aromatic as well as the diligent, patient and persistent virtues of Ananda, have not diminished, lost, compared with the first eighteen years, when he also an anonymous Sa Mon, unknown to anyone.
And Nan Nan spontaneously raced with the following verses:
"Twenty five years bOn Buddha's feet,
Study high, the truth is like a mirror.
A life without greed craving,
Kill ignorance, Dharma Buddha is immeasurable!
(Interpretation of Theragàtha v. 1039 = Tantric dialect of number 1039)
Then in the next two passages of this verse, Ananda also uses a similar passage, to express the unparalleled security of a Monk who has defeated the anger and passion.
Readers can reread these four verses, only replace the four words "Greed, longing", or replace the four words with four "Mischievous, misleading" then you will have two The next verse is as follows:
"Twenty-five years
of standing at the feet of Buddha, Studying the truth is as bright as a mirror
A life without evil anger ...
Destroying ignorance, Buddha's Dharma is unpredictable!".
and
"Twenty-five years in the Buddha's feet
Studying up the truth is as bright as a mirror
A life without delusion misled
ignorance, ignorance of the Buddha's law!"
The main idea of the above verse as well as the next verses in the Religion (Theragàtha) is A Nan Da praised the happiness of anyone who imitated the Buddha but ended the greed, hatred and delusion.
On the other hand, "twenty-five years" is mentioned in the language that has just been mentioned, only expressing the only peacefulness during the time he served the Buddha, rather than referring to the dignity of a life he made.
During those twenty-five years, although he was still a man. According to the scriptures: He was the one who needed to study - Sekha [3], but many times Ananda had left his greed and hatred, so he deliberately uttered: "Although the prize has not yet been achieved escape, anyone who can serve a Buddha, he is not suffering from greed and anger ".
(Note: A level of Tu Da Huc is a level that still infects humanity. This level only eradicates self-doubt, skepticism and superstition.)
Indeed, Nan Nan was the one who had enjoyed the goodness of merit and virtue.
And the language shelves related to the other good dhammas in the Sun Tzu (Theragàthà) of Ananda, though not quoted here, but in general the content is all to praise the noble dignity, which as a companion of Buddha at the time of money, experienced.
Particularly in the life of A Nan Da who attained Arhat, after Buddha passed away, it will be mentioned in the following sections.END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.29/12/2018.
