Wonderful Journey.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.
... After awakening to the long-held power of being buried under the illusory bliss of the impermanent earthly world, He decided to go beyond ordination to find the answer to human life ...
He experienced the painful, painful sensations of the body as depicted in the Sutta A with horrifying images: He seemed to be drilled into the skull with a sharp drill; as if an athlete tightened his head with a wire; like being slaughtered by a butcher with a knife; as if being grabbed and thrown into the pyre of fire ... But those painful feelings did not affect His consciousness ...
Then, with the eyes of "the law" after thorough testing with a resolute but very awake and objective attitude, he found the path of the Middle Way. That is the way to avoid two extremes: asceticism and enjoyment; is the direct path to the inner, the path of self-conquest, and the path of spiritual experimentation. It is only by spiritual experimentation, eliminating attachment, ignorance, and developing the wisdom of Prajna, that people can directly receive truth and reality.
Wonderful Journey
Head to the marvelous journey of the Buddha so that we can advance in the boat of spiritual experimentation. It will take us through difficult obstacles, pray for peace, leaving behind the unspoilt islands, soon reaching the shore to conquer the interior.
In all trips, whether short or long, whether far or near, there is a common point in preparing luggage. And depending on the purpose of the trip, the physical or mental preparation is more or less different. Most of the trips, material plays an important role: which are the vehicles, personal items, what are the Talents, the procedures ... , except the time to clean up, at least an inch of iron in hand. That is not to mention the fruits of the trip have been a time ball silently or quietly passed with the flow of time. So, where do we find a handless walk, leaving behind all the vanity material, beyond the walls of a class that have long covered human lives? And what is the result of a trip that lives on forever, transcends space,
In his book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces," author Joseph Campbell, a scholar specializing in the mysteries and origins of humanity, made a discovery about the nature of the legendary heroes. He said there are four levels in the great journey of the saints. In particular, he mentioned the Buddha's journey of enlightenment as a marvelous harmony between human material and the principles of the cosmos fully embodied in the Buddha.
1. The compassionate call of the Bodhisattva
The first stage of the journey is the call of compassion in the heart of the Bodhisattva Siddharta. That call of compassion moved, leading Him to meet and recognize the messages of suffering from the three gates of the city: old age, sickness, death, and the message of liberation from the fourth gate through your noble image. Taoist with the leisurely style.
The event awakened in the Bodhisattva's heart a reflection of his innermost power to find the answer to the eternal problem of human life:
"What is the nature of samsara? Is there any intrinsic power to escape samsara? Why does the cycle of human existence end at death? And how is the direct perception of the power of self Absolutely due to overcoming the limits of birth, family, illness and death? "
So a huge sequence of equations on human life was devised by the Bodhisattva Siddharta more than twenty-five centuries ago. Today, heads of state around the world sit together, scientists spend days and nights plying the construction ... are they looking for a common answer to building peace and peace? peace for man?
Here we recognize the mysterious voice that has revived a profound power in the Bodhisattva Siddharta. That is the ability to "cherish aspirations and attain enlightenment." In other words, it is the rise of a new spiritual aspiration that has long rested in the dust of the earth; is the view of a new center of energy, opening up a whole new spiritual vision. This meaning was given to him by the Bhikkhu Hai Van, one of the teachers whom fellow pupil Thien Tai came to visit through his long-term religious journey:
"Or rather, he aroused the desire for ultimate enlightenment; it was an impossible task for those who had never contained the group of good roots in past lives."
"Good roots" here would like to emphasize the meaning of benefiting the world. If you cannot serve in the right way, your spiritual gaze will not extend to the farthest reaches of the world and the way that group is contained will not be enough to trigger the desire for enlightenment. So Mr. Hai Van continues to praise Thien Tai's ambition, which is only possible for those who meet the following characteristics:
a. Their acts of merit are universal and shine.
b. Their attainment of samadhi is full of light of wisdom, which comes from walking on the right path.
c. They can give rise to an ocean of merit.
d. They accumulate all the pure dharmas without fatigue.
e. They are always close to good friends and always revered.
f. They are not those who store possessions and do not hesitate to give their lives to the Dharma.
g. They no longer have high tributes to fall, and like the ground, equally treat all.
i. Their hearts are full of love and constant thought always for the benefit of others.
j. They are always friendly to all beings in the paths of reincarnation.
k. They always wish to attend the assemblies of the Buddhas.
Mr. Hai Van then concluded that: only those souls who absorb those emotions, those emotions, and those attitudes, can have the ambition to aspire to enlightenment. That is a great Buddhist experience. This experience requires spiritual preparation to appear. And it grows from seeds that are deep in the ground and carefully cultivated.
Thus, "aspiration to enlightenment" is not a normal event in the life of the Bodhisattva Siddharta, but it is a decisive step towards the goal of a great renunciation.
2. The second step of the journey is great separation
After awakening to the long-held power of being buried under the illusory bliss of the impermanent earthly world, he decided to go beyond ordination to seek answers for human life. In Nguyet san Enlightenment No. 24/1998, page 50, Gia Tue very deeply and emotionally commented on the departure of the Prince: Leaving, He abandoned all loved ones, the throne, royalty, the whole velvet life is full of happiness. This is not the sacrifice of giving up of an elderly or sick poor or ill-privileged person, tired of life, resentment resentment ... but the sacrifice of a royal prince. died at a young age, living in noble luxury, full of happiness. It is indeed a great, unique sacrifice of sacrifice in human history. An unprecedented departure.
Then, alone, a shadow of him wandering in the middle of the solitary mountains to study with the famous teachers. At times he practiced Meditation, he achieved a very high level of spiritual experience. But every time he left this state, his mind still rippled in waves of sorrow. Therefore, he was not pleased to say goodbye to the monks, going to the depths of the forest to practice asceticism, with the desire to subdue the ego and overcome the disturbing brain. He experienced the painful, painful sensations of the body as depicted in the Sutta A with horrifying images: He seemed to be drilled into the skull with a sharp drill; like being tightened on a head by an athlete; like being slaughtered by a butcher with a knife; as if being grabbed and tossed on a pyre of fire ... But those painful feelings did not affect His consciousness.
This is a spirit of high courage, a resolute will like a jewel shimmering in many colors. First, He abandoned the worldly house not only for personal gain but for the sake and liberation of human suffering. To him all humanity is a family. Having witnessed the parting full of attachment, having made far-away trips ... the more we will admire his resolute will and courage.
Another important meaning of renunciation is to attain enlightenment by eliminating craving. Because it is the cause of all human difficulties, sorrows and sorrows. People are angry, worried, sad, reproachful, bitter, ... all due to craving. Even the causes of unhappiness, mental stress, stubbornness, troublesome brain, ... are all due to craving. So the Bodhisattva Siddharta sacrifices everything, including worldly pleasures, in search of the truth and liberating sorrowful suffering for human life.
Moreover, the meaning of separation also signifies the escape of the wall of the class that has long surrounded the human life, in the middle of "The Indian social structure is heavily covered by clergy clergy and religious practice. forced corporal punishment, class division, corrupt feudalism, feminist disregard and fear of fear under Brahman's power. "
Then the fruits and flowers of the escape of the caste stronghold were the message of equality that He conveyed to all people: those who were cowardly, those who were illiterate, men or women, laymen or people, ascetics ... all washed with the wonderful taste of the "truth of liberation" that He has found.
3. The third stage of the great journey is spiritual experimentation
History has recorded him undergoing many trials of a religious life, a life different from the royal palace, the servant of the servants fully furnished. Then again, attaining the levels of Zen learned from contemporary masters to the ascetic practice in the deep forest.
The meaning of this level tells us that: Scriptures, knowledge, diplomas, ... are valuable as the lines of the instruction chart, while the technique of meditation is valuable as a the ship to bring practitioners to the shore of knowledge. And especially exercise that knowledge in your own life as well as in your social life. For the ultimate truth of liberation, to eradicate the source of suffering, one cannot run outside or at any other power and also not through the practice of mortification; that realization is manifested righteously in the inner of man. From there he sat under the Bodhi tree with the vow that he would not leave until he achieved complete enlightenment.
4. The fourth stage of the journey is great awakening
Historically, history has proved that the heroic, majestic quartet can conquer generals three troops as gently as back to hand. Yet when faced with the arena of lust of the inner world, so many people have to arrange the teaching rules. Therefore, with the vow under the Bodhi Bodhisattva Siddharta accepts to face both internal and external ma. In the end, He overcame all the lowly desires hidden in the corner of the soul.
This is the flower and fruit of the spiritual experimentation process, the process of Zen meditation fighting the siege power of the Maou. With insight, He sees the cause of suffering. It is the beginning of the twelve conditions that is the beginning of the whole block of suffering. When the demon king's soldiers failed and scattered, he witnessed the three realms, three clear, clear understandings about all his hidden differences (sufficiency of life) and sentient beings in the three realms. six roads (natural eye smart), under the lens of cause and effect, dependent origination; just as the intellect recognizes the complete absence of gonorrhea or mind flow (smuggled to the fullest). This level displayed a profound lesson in Buddha's inner conquest. Perhaps the Venerable K. Sri Dhammananda fully sensed this meaning:
"He taught each of us the way to conquer our own private world, the inner subjective world in the privacy of each individual. In a simple language, He tells us that both this world is in us and the world driven by the mind for the mind must be properly trained and purified. "
The Buddha taught that his teachings "come to see", receive, reflect upon and believe and practice. Also, when reviewing the challenging and meaningful journey of practice and liberation of the Buddha, the author pretended to see this as a compress of the mind offered to the Guru on the day of enlightenment. Should be reasonable, please share with friends and friends in harmony, so that each person reflects on himself through different levels on the path of liberation.
