school is one of three courses, concentration, wisdom. Three studies are also known as three illicit learning. Called illicit learning because the three studies led to the elimination of pirated or, leading to liberation without having to lead to the blessings of birth.
The Meaning of Gender
Usually gender is understood as preventing evil, stopping evil ("preventing evil only"), or stopping evil and doing good ("only evil, good deeds").
In the Eightfold Path, Precepts are the aggregates including right speech, right action and right livelihood. Here is the prevention of the erroneous actions of body and speech. When wrongdoing is not done, much harm is done to others. This is to say the meaning of "good work" of gender.
The word World in the Precepts of Ba-la-title-carpentry (Sk: Pràtimoksa, Pàli: Patimokkha) means Special liberation or Origin of liberation, Arbitrary liberation. The special liberation is partial liberation: keep the precepts much, liberate more, keep the precepts less liberate less. Depending on liberation is liberation depending on the compound or non-compound result of the practitioner.
Rhys Davids' dictionary defines gender (Silà) with the root term Sìl. The root language Sìl has two meanings: Upadhàranà (morality, morality of Buddhism, manners, moral character) and Samàdhi (Concentration, Meditation).
The word Patimokkha means, according to the way of analyzing words, binding actions, preserving and promoting the actions of body and speech so as not to fall into evil ways, mistakes, harm to oneself and others. For example, tie the mouth of a buffalo to prevent it from eating rice.
The precepts in the meaning of the boys' day (Pàli: Uposatha, Sk: Upavasatha), Chinese translation is Bo-sa-tha, meaning that the residence, chief, net and good.
Sangha (III-A) defines the day of the precepts as the day of the practice of the living position of the Arahant (keeping only eight precepts).
Of the thirty-seven assistant products, the Buddha taught: "Precepts are the basis of the four foundations of mindfulness, the four righteous thoughts, the four mind-like thoughts, the five necessary thoughts, the five powerful forces, the seven Bodhi parts and the eight holy parts. is that the ground is the foundation, without it the animals cannot move, likewise, without the Precepts, thirty-seven assistant substances cannot be fully practiced. "
Through the above definitions, precepts help practitioners achieve two goals: not to do evil ( evil acts ), to do good deeds ( they do good deeds ). The third goal of Buddhism is to keep the mind pure, remove all the contraband or ( purely self-will ) and also the goal of salvation, thanks to the aggregates and the aggregates.
Time And Reason Set Gender
According to the historical document of Edward J. Thomas in "The Life of Buddha", the Ni Church was established in the fifth year after the Buddha's enlightenment. Therefore, through the sixth year a number of precepts began to take shape, and it became relatively clear by the tenth year after the enlightenment. Vinaya recorded until the thirteenth year after the enlightenment day, a new rule was automatically formed, by the Venerable Ushana (Upàli). Then the Precepts of Ba-la-title-carpentry (Patimokkha) were born.
Why was the duty not established in the first year of the Church? Traditionally, the Buddhas only set the precepts, when deeming it necessary, when it is fully predestined. When there is a violation phenomenon causing a bad influence on the life of the Sangha, the new World Monk karma, established a new precept to prevent the bad phenomenon from happening later. Likewise, during the early years, monks and nuns made a peaceful life within the framework of the Dharma, so that the Blessed One did not mention the Precepts, but presented the Gender in the simplest, most general forms. is the form of maintaining the base, or in the form of right speech, right action and right livelihood of the Eightfold Path. It was not until the thirteenth year after the enlightenment, that there were many phenomena of living outside the blissful life, so the Blessed One established the duty of Ba-la-them-carpentry.
One day, Venerable Upàli said, "What kind of teachings are established for the disciples of the Tathagata and Patimokkha deities, for what purposes?
The Blessed One taught, due to the ten purposes that the dharma studies were established and the Pātimokkha duty was pronounced:
- To increase them to be extremely prosperous,
- To increase them to be safe,
- To stop the stubborn people,
- To make the Male-stilts to live in peace,
- To tame the illegal or right now,
- To stop smuggling or in the future,
- To bring credibility to unbelievers,
- To increase credibility of growth for those who believe,
- To let the magic exist,
- To be accepted by the law . (The Anguttara Nikāya 3B, p. 73)
Through the above ten purposes, the deity is limited to the two "only evil" and "good deeds" of the three parts (only evil, good deeds and self-purification of intention) that Buddhism aims at.
Thus, the Precept through Nikaya includes only the precepts of the house and the renunciants. This is the content of the suspected sex law called Special Liberation.
Content Types Gender
There are many forms of gender classification. The first classification, gender has a broad meaning of "Mahayana". There are three types here:
- Category one, called the Gender Law , includes the precepts of the house and the ordained: the five precepts, the eight precepts, the ten moral precepts, and the precepts.
- The second type is called Goodwill Dharma Realm , taking the practice of all good deeds as gender.
- Type three called Many useful worldly situation , taking advantage of all sentient beings as gender.
The second classification also has a very broad meaning of Mahayana, including:
- Special liberated world , it is the content of suspected international law Photography.
- The gender community , which is liberation due to birth, is intended to be gender. Due to meditation, the body and mind are pure and the precepts can be realized.
- Dao community , is freed by intellectual property, taking wisdom as a precept. Due to the profundely cultivated practice that is smuggled, the world is full.
Through the above gender classification, good photography and many useful useful world is attached to the Mahayana world; gender liberation and gender equality is called the world property smuggled; The communal world is called illicit world.
Luan Sentences, then known as the legal liberation (or special liberation) is sex gender precepts; Call birth law rules (or about the world) is gender identity border; and called the birth of suspected law (or religious community) is invisible smuggling.
Within the boundaries of the boundary presented here, we do not go into the details of gender, nor go into the monastic precepts, but only present the basic features of the Study.
Nature And Background Of Gender
According to the precepts one by one, as well as the entire Precepts, especially the ten basic precepts common to both house and ordination related to body, speech and mind, we can find out the nature of gender and the background The foundation on which Gender is set.
Here, for example, "invisible" (not to kill). The basis of this world is not to kill people, the second is not to kill other beings. As for the precepts, when observing this precept, the precepts can be prevented, nourished from the mind, making the mind calm and peaceful right now, from here, the precepts do not create evil karma to endure suffering in the future. As for other people and other beings, when the immoral precepts are preserved, their lives are further ensured to be safe, secure, and free from the consequences of their hatred and evil. other cause in the present.
For the "immoral" and "immoral" precepts, the precepts prevent greed and do not create more negative karma that causes suffering in the present and future, and others and other beings are avoided. harm and live peacefully.
The result of keeping the precepts thus fulfilling their nature is to bring happiness to oneself and to others, to regulate collective activities, to create trust for others. Bringing the benefits of peace and liberation for the precepts themselves, that is wisdom; to benefit peacefulness for others and other species, that is compassion. Wisdom and compassion are the basis on which precepts are established.
The direction of the precepts is to bring benefits and peace to oneself and people, so the world helps the practitioner to feel the body, mind and peace in each step. About its true meaning, there is no sense of bondage or bondage. In addition to some actions, if done, obviously destroying pure conduct should be absolutely forbidden, the remaining activities of liberated practitioners are free to be mimicked and mimicked. Even in prohibited cases, it is not possible to commit an act of "interdependent" (such as "gender-related" accidents) if, because of the intention of the practitioner, it is not committed, the victims do not arise greed or hatred depending on what is happening (for example, being raped, if not arise, it is not committed).
Regarding the important gender, the nature of their openness is somewhat limited, but with the lighter gender, their nature is very open, flexible, liberal.
The Vinaya records that once Buddhists and pagans criticized the monks who stood and defecated, saying that the way was rough and impolite. When this incident was submitted to World Religion, World Religion bèn taught: "So from now on Male-stilts, sit that urination". But in another country, when the Female-stilts sat urinating, they were criticized that the followers of the Buddha were female. When this incident presented to World Religion, World Religion taught: "If so, then stand that cottage." That means depending on the national level, according to the culture that adapts. This is a case in point of the flexible and open nature of gender.
Thus, the precepts in Buddhist teachings are not as obstinate and rigid as dogma of other religions, but they mean voluntary and practical benefits to themselves and people, in order to nurture and develop one's own beliefs and that of people.
Position Of Gender In The Buddhist Doctrine System
The Sutta Pitaka and the Arahant School refer to Gender more than the rest of the Sūtra. Typically, the Brahma Sutra (by Nikàya) and the Sutta Pedagogy (of the A-function School) clearly define the position of gender in the system of Buddhist teachings. In these two sutras, the Blessed One confirms that only the ordinary people praise and praise the Tathagata about Morality. Praise, praising the Tathagata as true is praising and praising Tue virtue: - "Tathagata has witnessed, enlightened and declared the profound, difficult to see, hard-to-see, impure, beautiful, beyond logic, very delicate, only intellectuals will understand. "
Through such confirmation of the Blessed One, we see that the Precepts are just a basic step (Precepts, Concentration, Wisdom) of Buddhism. To be more specific, gender is just the first step of the five steps: gender , samadhi , wisdom , liberation and liberation of knowledge (knowledge that liberation knows).
Gender is a first step, but a fundamental step. If the practitioner falls into the precepts (the precepts of the infidel), broken from this first step, then it is impossible to take the next four steps.
This is the meaning of the word precepts in Nikàya and Adam.
Through to the Tripitaka, Mahayana has a broader meaning: Gender includes concentration and wisdom. Distinctive gender liberation (or photography law suspected gender) and About the world realm is owned by smuggled gender, Community plus gender belongs to Tue liberation or smuggling gender.
The Great Tripitaka is classified into one of the six parts of Bodhisattva called "Luc Ba-la-secret". About the Ba-la-secret, it has been synonymous with the removal of the prime minister, or synonymous with the removal of all illegal, this is Tue liberation.
Although there are different views in the classification and presentation of the Study of Nanzhang and the Tripitaka, if we look closely at the content, it is clear that there is no real conflict at all. The Vinaya presents the Precepts at the level as stated, through which the Vinaya discusses the Jhana and the Tue. This boundary delimitation is more formal and conventional than the moral content of the precepts. In the Tripitaka, concentration and wisdom can be cultivated together with the precepts; In people who maintain the precepts, attaining to the Brahmin world must require the person who practices the precepts to attain full concentration and wisdom. Lack of Dinh and Tue, one cannot reach the result of the world but separates all the clinging generals.
In fact, both the Vinaya and the Bac canon claim that they cannot be separated from the Precepts, Concentration and Wisdom. Looking at the eight elements of the Noble Eightfold Path it is evident that. Gender (or right speech, right action, right livelihood) cannot be called Right Precepts, if Tue is not present (right view and right thought). Implementing Gender is the realization of Wisdom, performing Wisdom is also the fulfillment of Gender.
Understand the True Meaning of Gender and Gender
The issue of transgression results in different, heavier and lighter results among practitioners who have different psychological liberation, even though they make the same mistake. The consequences they receive are also different now and in the future.
Products of the Salt Grain (Sangha Sutta I) clearly state the Buddha's interpretation of this case. A black villager steals a goat of a rich, powerful man who can be beaten and shed blood on the spot and imprisoned. But a government official stole a goat of a rich man, with that power he was not beaten, nor imprisoned. For example, a handful of salt is dropped into a large lake or large river, the salinity is insignificant, but if the salt is held in a boat of water, the salinity is significant. Also, the same guilty, with the stingy mind, not practicing Gender, Dinh, Tue, the result can go to hell; but for people who practice precepts, samadhi, wisdom, and have generosity, then consider them as a result of no (elimination).
The Great Karma (Central Sutta III) presents that a person who has right understanding and righteous belief before he dies can enter the Heavenly Realm even though in life he has created ten negative karmas; whereas a person with wrong views and full of mind before death can go to hell, hungry ghosts, animals, though giving money often create ten good karma. The presence of right view of ordinary people has such a great influence in the birth, let alone the presence of insight.
Usually in terms of generals, the offense is charged if the three conditions are met:
- Prepare to commit.
- Specific action on the violation.
- Deliberate.
Of the three conditions for that charge, the two conditions are part of the volition of the mind. Therefore, the gender problem poses clearly to help people to keep their minds clean, pure and honest. Infringement means identifying the tarnished mind. Thus, the question of keeping precepts is actually a matter of keeping the mind pure, basically observing the mind and overcoming it. For those who practice a sense of purity, a clear sense of mind, of course one has the right to be fully rounded.
Although there are many precepts established, the basic is still rooted in consciousness. Keeping the mind is pure, the world is pure. It can be stated that there is only one basic precept which is the intention: away from evil, unwholesome, away from craving, anger and clinging .
Gender has a clear function, through the presentation above, to bring peacefulness and long-term happiness for oneself and for people in the present and future. To observe the precepts is to preserve the source of that bliss and happiness; breaking the world is damaging to that source of happiness and happiness.
Gender, as such, is not exclusive to monks or just for lay Buddhists, nor is it only for the elderly but for all people of all ages, for those who are want to live to bring peace, happiness for themselves and people now and in the future.
If happiness is the object that humanity always seeks, then it is true that gender is what humanity needs to hold on its way to that happiness. The time has come for people to eliminate all the precepts of the precepts of the Buddhist teachings to get closer to the precepts and to embrace the precepts as if they were their happiness.
