However, from where the old tree died, a new Bodhi tree sprouted. Later, the Bodhi tree was killed a few more times, but from where the tree was killed, a new tree grew green. In historical records,  the Bodhi tree in the Buddha's enlightenment  has been destroyed at least seven times.

Today,  Bodh Gaya  is one of the four holiest sites associated with  the life of the Buddha , along with  Lumbini (Lumbini)  ,  Sarnath , and  Kushinagar . If Lumbini is a witness to the  birthplace of Buddha , then Bodh Gaya is a witness to the birthplace of the Buddha Dharma. Buddhism takes enlightenment as the root, liberation as a fruit, compassion and equality as a living sap.
