For the Dharma to last long.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH. The Dharma of the Buddha is a wonderful treasure, a source of wisdom, capable of washing away defilements, leading to peace and liberation. The liberating flavor of the Buddhadharma always flows, blends, and permeates the mind to relieve suffering and pain for the world. The Dharma is the path that the Buddha enlightened, preached, and led all sentient beings out of suffering to Nirvana, peace and liberation. If the Dharma is still present, sentient beings will be less confused. Magical dharma still exists, the evil dharma weakens and perishes. That Dharma is preached by the Tathagata like the mighty roar of a lion, driving away evil, opening the door of birth and death. The Dharma is the lighthouse, the light of wisdom that brings people over the edge of delusion, back to the wharf. As a result, all Buddhists, whether ordained or lay-at-home, wish to abide by the eternal Dharma (long-lasting) in this world. Being aware of the great value of the Dharma for the life of the five evils, from the noble disciples, to the Patriarchs through many generations... all seek to preserve, maintain and promote Righteousness. The events of assembling sutras taking place in the history of Buddhism are also not for the purpose of filtering out heresies, misunderstandings, and deviant practices, and at the same time preserving the original value of the Buddha's teachings. When a believer deeply understands, clearly sees the true value of the Buddha's teachings, and has many dharmas and joys when applying the practice, he always wishes how the Dharma could be universalized to everyone. so that the Dharma will remain in the world. With many methods to preserve the Dharma, in which the correct understanding and practice in accordance with the spirit of the Buddha's teachings is the most practical way for the Eternal Dharma to stay. According to the Vinaya: "The precepts are the life span of the Buddhadharma; the precepts remain, the Buddhadharma remains; the precepts cease, the Buddha Dharma ceases." This statement is not intended to show disdain between sutras and rules, but emphasizes practice. As long as the Buddha's disciples still apply and practice according to the Buddha's teachings, the Buddhadharma will still exist. This spirit is clear and pervasive in all Buddhist traditions. Remember, only the germs of the lion can eat the lion. In the same way, the existence or destruction of the Buddha's teachings is due to the Buddha's disciples themselves, and no outside force can destroy the Dharma. Reflecting in many suttas, the Buddha not only kindly advised his disciples, but also taught the true Dharma practice so that the True Dharma would last forever. In order for the Dharma to stay in the world for a long time, it is not just an effort to build a big Buddha temple, not just a reception of the large Sangha... but a practice, the truth of cultivation, practice. The Buddha taught, there are five factors that lead to chaos, instability, and disappearance of the Dharma, and there are five causes that lead to the wonderful dharma that remains, is not confused, and does not disappear. “Here, the Male-stilts, the Male-stilts do not carefully listen to the Dharma; carelessly memorize the dharma; not careful life maintenance; carelessly observe the meaning of the dharmas are maintained; carelessly practicing the dharma and depending on the dhamma after understanding the meaning and understanding of the dhamma. These five dharmas, bhikkhus, lead to the disappearance of the wonderful dharma. These five dharmas, bhikkhus, lead to the wonderful dharma that abides, does not perish, does not disappear. What is the year? Here, the Male-stilts, Male-stilts carefully listen to the Dharma; carefully memorize the dharma; carefully uphold the law; carefully observe the meaning of the dharmas are maintained; carefully practice the dharma and follow the dharma after understanding the meaning and understanding of the dharma.” Here are five factors to watch out for. Cautiousness is an attitude that needs to be sought, esteemed, and careful. Careful listening to the Dharma is paying attention, listening in mindfulness, the mind is not conditioned or drowsy - lethargy, agitated and doubtful while listening to the Dharma. When you have a careful mind, you will listen to the Buddha's teachings, not the Buddha who says one thing and listens to another so that the three stars lose their duties. There are many times when the ear still listens without remembering, listening to one ear ignoring the other, or ignoring the ear, listening as well as not listening. Listening carefully to the Dharma is literature and wisdom, the first basis for achieving wisdom and cultivating wisdom. Careful memorization of the Dharma is the ability to memorize and recite the three canons of Sutra, Vinaya, and Abhidhamma. Memorize clearly about the meaning of owls, without errors, without forgetting. There was a tradition of memorization in the early stages of Buddhism. The recitation movement played an important role in preserving the Dharma before the Buddhist scriptures were written down. Venerable Ananda is the first multi-literate, capable of remembering the Buddha's teachings without missing a single word. Today, this tradition of recitation is still maintained in a number of Theravada countries, of which Burma is a country where many masters and complete Tripitakas are memorized. Careful observance of the Dharma is key because it emphasizes the practice. To taste the taste of the path of liberation, one must practice according to the teachings of the Buddha. Because the Buddha's Dharma is to come to see, not to come to believe. Practicing the Dharma is like tasting a bowl of soup with your tongue, knowing its delicious taste. And if you don't practice, you can't feel the deliciousness of the soup like a spoon. To carefully observe the meaning of dharmas that are upheld is to develop insight to see the wonderful meaning of dharmas. In the sutra it is often said: "The medical scriptures explain the three worlds of Buddha's injustice, and the most disparate scriptures mean the same magic theory". Practitioners need to understand the truth and the means. The sutras are the means to the truth, the Buddhist scriptures are like a finger pointing to the moon, or like a boat carrying people across to the other shore. If you cling to the sutras, it's like trying to cling to your finger but not seeing the moon, or trying to cling to a boat, you won't be able to cross to the other shore. But if you don't follow your finger, you can't see the moon, if you don't rely on a boat, you can't cross to the other side. One who carefully observes the meaning of dharmas to be upheld is to understand the means and the end, so as not to fall into wrong attachment. Carefully practicing the dharma and depending on the dharma after understanding the meaning and understanding of the dhamma is the final factor in applying the practice in accordance with the true meaning of the dharma. When practicing rightly like this, the result is peaceful and liberated right here and now. All the factors on the path of practice lie in the wisdom root, the last important factor of the Three-way path of learning Precepts, Concentration, and Wisdom. Only wisdom can destroy ignorance and craving. Only wisdom can end the defilements, cut off all the roots of craving and attachment to enter enlightenment and liberation. Therefore, these five careful steps are the five key elements, the essence of the path of learning and cultivating the Way. Without these five steps, the Dharma will be confused and disappear; but if you practice according to these five steps, it will lead to the wonderful dharma that remains, without confusion, without disappearing. In the Sayutta Nikāya, the Buddha also taught that there are five dharmas that cause the wonderful dharma to be confused and disappear, and there are also five dharmas that lead to the abiding, stable, and non-disappearing of the wonderful dharma. “There are, Kassapa, five dharmas that cause the wonderful dharma to be confused and disappear. What is the year? Here, Kassapa, the Male-stilts, Male-stilts-ni, male and female lay people live without respect, not subject to the Master (Buddha); live without respect, not subject to the Dharma; live without respect, not subject to them Increase; living without respect, not subject to precepts; live without reverence, without consent to meditation. Kassapa, it is these dharmas that lead to confusion, the disappearance of the wonderful dharma. And there are five dharmas, Kassapa, that lead to the abiding, enduring, non-disappearing of the Dharma. What is the year? Here, Kassapa, the Male-stilts, Female-stilts-ni, male lay people, female lay people live respectfully, depending on the Master; live respectfully, according to the Dharma; live respectfully, according to them Increase; live respectfully, according to the precepts; Live respectfully according to meditation. It is these five dharmas, Kassapa, that lead to the abiding, enduring, and non-disappearing of the dharma." [Suttas of Sayutta] These five contents convey the message that only practice can bring liberation to oneself and preserve the Dharma. When a Buddha's disciple lives with reverence and respect, and practices according to the holy world aggregates, the holy concentration aggregates and the holy wisdom aggregates; Inheriting the Dharma, not inheriting the property, the Dharma is always bright and clear. "Bhikkhus, what are the dharmas that I have realized and taught, which you must well study, realize, practice, and propagate so that the holy life may last forever, for the happiness of others. sentient beings, for the sake of the welfare of living beings, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for happiness, for the welfare of gods and humans? It is the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, the Four Right Efforts, the Four Divine Powers, the Five Roots, the Five Powers, the Seven Bodhi and the Eight Noble Paths. It is these, bhikkhus, that I have realized and taught. that you must skillfully learn, realize, practice, and propagate so that the holy life will last forever, for the sake of the happiness of sentient beings, for the compassion of the world, for the sake, for the sake of happiness, for the sake of peace. happiness for gods and humans” [Long Bodhi, Mahaparinirvana Sutra]. That is the true defense of the Dharma.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY =VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.31/5/2021.
