Cultivate merit and return to rebirth.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
In the Sutra of Contemplation of Infinite Life, it is written: "The Buddha told Ananda and Vi De Hy that if any sentient being wishes to be born in the Western Pure Land, they should generate three minds in order to be reborn.
Those three minds are:
1. Sincere heart
2. Heartfelt
3. Devoted to generate vows.
Having enough of these three minds, he is determined to be reborn in that land."
The word "heart" in the sutras refers to the mind that practices virtues and likes to do good deeds.
The word "dedication to generate aspiration" refers to the mind that wants to bring the merits of cultivation or to bring the good deeds done, towards the fruit of Ultimate Bliss to pray for rebirth.
In Buddhism, the dedication of merit has an important value. The 20th great vow of Amitabha Buddha has been mentioned. So please briefly explain the meaning of the dedication of merit as follows:
1. The Buddha's virtues and titles have inconceivable powers:
2. The pure mind of beings has inconceivable powers;
3. The mind of sentient beings also has inconceivable power. The combination of these three inconceivable powers forms the Pure Land method. Therefore, the Pure Land dharma is also inconceivable.
Theoretically, just reciting the Buddha's name is enough to be reborn, but in the body and mind of the practitioner when practicing the Pure Land method, in addition to the power to recite the Buddha's name, it is also necessary to cultivate virtues, dedicate the results of rebirth, because:
1. Need to make offerings to Amitabha Buddha to decorate the Buddha's land.
2. Need to do the high-quality support for the path results.
3. Need to develop Mahayana mind to study according to Bodhisattva's conduct.
Because of the above reasons, it is enough not only to recite the Buddha's name but also to think it is enough. Nothing can separate cause and effect; whether it is worldly dharma or worldly dharma. Regardless of good or bad thoughts or good or bad actions, there are consequences later. Based on that, we can know that a practitioner who practices kusala is determined to receive blessings in the future. Assuming that the good is of the human nature, then in the future, it will enjoy the blessings of humanity, but not the end of peace, because there is still rebirth in samsara. Assuming that the good is of the type of human being that is not smuggled out of the world, then in the future will be born in the Five Imperfections (the realm of the four holy fruits: Tu Da Hoan, Tu Da Ham, Ana Ham, Arahant) or ten. Pure Land.
If, for the reason that he does not want to enjoy human retribution, because he is afraid of reincarnation, he voluntarily dedicates all his or her merit, either unscrupulous or unstained merit, as an aid to the higher order to pray. Amitabha's rebirth in the Ultimate Bliss. In this way, many previous causes of meritorious blessings will not be matured, but the place of maturity will be only in the world of Ultimate Bliss. Having gathered in one place, even though the karma is not complete, the results are still achieved.
Because all dharmas are caused by the mind. The mind that has the ability to grow karma also has the ability to change karma. Therefore, when the practitioner directs all his good karma towards the fruit of Ultimate Bliss, that thought not only has the power to harmonize the unstained seeds that have been cultivated in the eighth consciousness, it also makes those seeds know the quality. The seed of the pure Dharma is completely unstained, the seed has already been decided, so the future place to enjoy the retribution can also be known with certainty. This is an explanation according to the mind-only doctrine, a very profound doctrine in the Buddhadharma.
In the Pure Land method, dedication occupies a very important place. Practitioners must be faithful to take effect.
In case, if there is still a single point of doubt in the heart, the mind will lose its use, unable to change the seeds in the eight consciousnesses. If the mind has doubts, the Pure Land method will not bring any effect to the practitioner. The sutras say: "If in doubt, the flower will not bloom" is only for that reason.
Amitabha Buddha knew that the seed could turn from being smuggled to unstained, and merit could be transferred from one realm to another, so he made the 20th great vow. Over the past hundred thousand years, the Great Buddhas. Virtue also understands that fact, so he composes the vows to dedicate, to ecstasy, to advise us to dedicate the merits of our practice towards the fruit of rebirth in the Pure Land of Bliss.
No matter what meritorious deeds you do, whether you only help a poor person with a coin or just save the life of an ant, after doing so, you must visualize Amitabha Buddha as if standing in front of you, clasping your hands in a bow. glass read the verse in the following directions:
Prayer brings this merit
dignified place of Buddha degrees
on the temple four deep thanks
Below save three lines suffering
If someone saw listen
Cogeneration Bodhicitta
When chronic newspaper this body
Country Bliss at the
after When I read that verse, how much merit I have done immediately feels the Buddha's energy corresponding to our own mind. The power of the two sides' induction is the "privilege" of rebirth in Ultimate Bliss later on.
All the merit dedicated, regardless of whether it is of the kind that is tainted or not, becomes the income of rebirth in accordance with the 20th great vow of Amitabha Buddha. Will definitely be satisfied later on.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.31/5/2021.
