Lesson 6
Ten Buddhist Schools In China.
Not only Buddhism, all the major religions in the world, over time and development, are divided into many sects. This division is of course a must for the different backgrounds and situations. Otherwise, virtue cannot develop in depth and breadth. More than any religion, Buddhism does not have the dogma of revelation, does not have a solid, restrictive spirit in the form of narrow, pragmatic, but on the contrary, very generous, free, easy to drill peace, content, so Buddhism can go anywhere can develop-right according to the basis and specific circumstances in that locality. Therefore, Buddhism is very distinct colors when spread across the country.
Particularly in China, Buddhism has divided ten religious sects. Each sect has its own characteristics, but never beyond the Buddha's teachings. These sects are like different roads, with straight lines, high and low roads, narrow roads, but each path has a common purpose. Practitioners, depending on their qualifications, intellect, abilities, and hobbies, choose the path that best suits them to practice. In this way, the practice can quickly bring about results.
The ten religions in China are: Religious Law, Pure Land, Zen Buddhism, Dharma General Religion, Secret Religion, Thien Thai Religion, Serious United States, Religious Commentary, Religion and Honesty.
In this 10, Amnesty and Honesty respect the policy of Hinayana; The Venerable Law and Meditation clear both Mahayana and Hinayana, while the other 6 religions belong to Mahayana.
The meaning of the canonical religions is also very much, in order to understand thoroughly, it requires specialized research and elaboration for many years. in every religion. Here, we should only know something about the doctrine and get acquainted with the nouns of those religions, so that we can have a place to begin. Later, when studying higher, we will go into each sect and will depending on the basis of their preferences to choose one of them to practice.
I.- Apostolic Law
I.- Duyen Khoi Lap Tong
Religion uses the law as a base so it is called Law religion. Buddha while still in the world, depending on the basis, depending on the circumstances that invented many types of precepts to teach students, chemical beings. After he entered Nirvana, his disciples, like Uighur Ba-Li, who was adept at the precepts standing on the seat of dharma during the first canonical collection, recited the moral discourses Buddha invented. This episode was not written in scripture, so Mr. Uu-Ba-Li had to read it over and over again 80 times, so much so that everyone in the congregation memorized it. Therefore, the new name is "Eightfold discourse". Later, chronologically, Buddhism originally divided into many branches, or sects. Each faction has its own set of rules. Among these laws, the most frequently mentioned and applied ones are: Ten Litigation, Four Parts, Increase Period, and Five Parts.
These laws were transmitted to China and translated into Chinese literature. In the Tang dynasty, Tri Thu, the lawyer, annotated the ministries, and his disciple, the Propaganda lawyer, realized that among these ministries, the Four Sections of Law were appropriate for Chinese roots, so it was based on This law is to establish the Religious Law. The Dao Dao Tuyen is from Chung Nam Son, so people call this religion “Chung Nam Son” to distinguish it from other Religious Laws, such as those of the Dharma Laws on the Right of Minister. , or Mr. Hoai To in East France.
Among these Religions, only the Venerable Master of Nam Chung Son is the most prevalent and propagated up to now, because it neutralizes both the Great Letter and the Hinayana.
II.- Principles And Characteristics Of The Apostolic Law
Every organization, a company, or whatever it is right, must follow certain rules. Above all, the practice is even more subject to strict rules. As we all know in the basic teachings, karma is the main driver of the human universe. Karma has three types: The karma of action, the karma of words and the karma of thought. If those karma are pure, do not create evil, then we do not take the life and death reincarnation. Without the result of samsara, it is of course liberated. In order for the karmas to be purified, we must uphold the precepts, which is a method of spiritual practice in many methods that Buddha has divided. This method is very practical and very effective for Buddha:
-Have not killed the animals, now you do not make people violent, from being imprisoned, later from being traumatized in the three evil paths of hell, hungry ghosts, animals, and from being killed, that is tu.
-Keep the world without stealing, the current honest people from being confined to shackles, the next life without retribution, being robbed by the thieves, it is tu.
-Let's abstain from sexual misconduct, currently be a good person, your family and someone who is not harassed, beaten, miserable by jealousy, that's a practice.
-Keep the world not to lie, not to speak insolent, miserable, more or less, stabbing, not to say cruel and vulgar, then do not despise, get respect, that is tu.
-Keep the world no gambling, smoking, alcohol, then from losing money, debt, from being drunk, doing crimes lo0i and from being despised, intellectual growth, measuring tu.
In general, keeping a precept is preventing a sin, and adding a good thing; to keep many hours is to prevent many sins and to add many good things. Therefore, should keep the precepts method is not far from reality and is essential for Buddhists to lead the rescue.
By keeping the "precepts" not doing sinful things, the mind is "set"; due to concentration, he emits "wise wisdom". Thanks to the wise wisdom, the ignorance of ignorance and ignorance is the mind of becoming Buddha.
Practitioners at home have kept the precepts, new Buddhists chon. The renunciation of novice life, having a new precepts must be a monk. Bhikkhu-stilts have to keep the new precepts must be pure Bhikkhu-stilts. The Bodhisattva who holds the new precepts must be the Bodhisattva feet. Therefore, in the three non-pirated dishes (gender, concentration, wisdom), "precepts" are at the top.
Religion is set to be aimed at the practical and mature benefits of the precepts, as stated above.
III.- Types of Precepts
The precepts have many types of steps, depending on the root, depending on the clergy, depending on the wishes of the austerities that apply. But generally speaking, the precepts can be divided into two broad categories: the precepts of the Mahayana and the precepts of the Hinayana.
-The precepts that have a negative nature, self-interest, only the main purpose is to avoid their own sins belongs to the Hinayana precepts. Of course, while keeping the precepts for ourselves, others benefit as well as keeping the precepts without stealing, then we gain the benefit of holding back greed, and that others are also free from suffering from the loss of regret. Even though the world, the world does not steal and fall into the Hinayana world only, because in the world, the main purpose is to keep it directly; and the benefits for the people who are only indirectly affected by that gender. Precepts such as the Five Precepts (5 precepts made by the Buddha for people at home), Eight Precepts for the Precepts (8 Precepts for the Homosexuals to live as monks), Sang-di and Sang-di -multiple (10 Buddhist precepts for novices), Thought-massage (6 things female learning), Bhikkhu-stilts (250),
The precepts that have a positive nature, focusing on the purpose of self-interest rather than self-interest belongs to the Mahayana. About Mahayana world as 10 precepts in 48 contempt of Bodhisattva, Tam-pure border (including: The law-suspected-gender is not doing evil, Photography-Good-Dharma world is doing good deeds, many useful things-the world are those that benefit sentient beings, such as doing charitable acts, etc.).
If on the aspect of the practice that classifies, the precepts can be divided into two major parts: one belongs to the maintenance, that is to stop the negative karma, the part belongs to the work, ie acts according to the good-karma. .
1.-About maintenance: there are two sets of obligations:
a.-Bhikkhu-stilts gender duty, including 250 world, divided into 8 categories are: 1.- Ba-la-di (4 world), 2.-Tang-museum (13 world), 3. -Definite (2 precepts), 4.- Commune-fallen (30 precepts), 5.- Single-damned (90 precepts), 6.- De-crowds (4 precepts), 7.- They-learn (100 precepts) , 8.- Killing-avoiding (7 precepts). These two hundred and fifty precepts can be divided into eight categories (five celestial beings), six types (sixteen) and seven types (seven groups).
b.-Bhikkhu-stilts-many deities (Bhikkhu-stilts-many include 348 precepts, divided into 7 categories:
1.-Ba-la-di (8 precepts), 2.- Increased destruction (17 precepts), 3.-Disaster-torment (30 precepts), 4.-Single-damn (178 precepts), 5.-Deemed -large-many (8 world), 6.-They-learn (100 world), 7.-Kill-avoid (7 world). These three hundred and forty-eight precepts, which can be divided into seven categories as above, but can also be arbitrarily divided into five categories, six types, and seven types as increase parties (1).
About this Bhikkhu-stilts and Bhikkhu-stilts-on this called specific-full gender, meaning that the precepts give countless life-virtuous, blessed. But 250 or 348 precepts, not many. That is just the world that gathers the main rules -making as a clue for the persecution. If all the rules-telling, about the "amount" of vanity-nothing, about "the scene" nan throughout the legal world. If told about the middle level, the party has up to 3,000 statues, 80,000 sacrifices-happy; Ni party has 80,000 statues and 120,000 sacrifices.
Why did Buddha make so many rules?
- Because every precept is a precaution against sin, that we humans are ordinary, from mindfulness to behavior, there are so many sinful things, there must be countless precepts to prevent them.
2.- About maintenance, including 20 kien-degrees.
Longitude means quality, law (Khanda).
20 degrees of degrees are:
Be ordained
Theory of tandem
Settlement
The four kienji ...
The division of presiding over and overseeing is the core that is easy to distinguish in observing the precepts, but actually speaking in a final way, in "only" there is "operative", in "operative" has "only", it is impossible to say one. how to be definitive.
(1) We only introduce the nouns of the monks and nuns' rules, but do not elaborate, because according to Buddha's law, ordained people at any level only know the rules of that level.
IV.- Nouns and Methods of Practice
As we have seen above, Buddha's precepts are very numerous; Therefore, the technical noun and the method of keeping precepts are also very complicated. So if you want to keep the precepts, you must first know the following:
1.-Why is it called "name, race, nature, general" ?.
a.-Danh is the name (noun) means the name of each gender, such as the world of killing, lack of conduct, etc.
b.- Race is a species, or group; as we have seen in the division of the precepts of monks and nuns: la-di-la, and sangha, etc.
c.-Tanh Tanh Tanh, the nature inside; as the precepts, in mind not think of killing, directing, obscene, hoping etc. or see the transgression nor being born happy or thinking about. Keeping the inner mind in such purity is called "gender identity".
d.- The general is the appearance on the outside; as inside did not think about killing, robbing (moral identity) .vv. and outside do not do those evil things, called "generals".
In short, every time you commit a sin, the precepts must know what it is (name), killing or directing, etc. belongs to which category (strain), Bala or Sangha, etc.? Internal (Tanh) or external (general)? And finally, the practitioner must know me, how can I be purified by law?
2.- Why is it called "declaration, price, maintenance, committing"?
a.- Declaration is open, for making.
b.- The price is banned, not allowed to do.
Like when Buddha was reincarnated, he forbade monks and nuns to climb the tree, which is "Price". But later, when the Bhikkhu went to the forest, he was chased by evil animals. From there, the Buddha taught: "If you are predestined, you can climb a tree", so called "Khai".
A second example: Buddhists must observe the precepts not to drink alcohol. That is "Price". But when you are seriously ill, if you need alcohol to mix with medicine, drink it to heal, then temporarily use it. That is "Khai". But before drinking, must be transparent to the monks.
c.- Preserving is preserving; like when the ordained and then keep the purity is called "Tri".
d.- Violation is a violation; as if he had taken the precepts and didn't uphold the precepts then it was called "Pham".
In a nutshell, while cultivating the precepts, one always observes each of his daily behaviors in a wise way, what is "Tri", what is "Pham"; in which case, and which gender is "Khai"; In which case, and which gender is not "Khai" .etc. in general, when you have taken the precepts, you must "Maintain". If not "Trì" but "Phạm". Yet if it is out of compassion, for the common good, or for the sake of wisdom, it is possible to "declare" without sin. But if because of the mind, because of disturbing impulses that "Khai" is "Pham".
3.-Why is it called "lead, offend, and offend"?
a.- Maintaining is talking about the aspects of evil, resolving not to cause sin.
b.- An offense is to talk about evil things, which should have been preserved, but could not be kept, so we must have sinned.
c.- Persistence is talking about good things, need to do, is breaking.
d.- Committing violations is talking about good things, if suspending not doing, is breaking the precepts.
For example: about the crime of theft, if not doing is just maintaining, if doing the crime. On the contrary, on almsgiving, if doing is the work, if not doing is only a crime.
4.- Why is it called "the crime of sin and the price of sin, or the nature of sin and price" ?.
a). Crime is available in the tons of beings, such as murder, religion, sex, hope. These four nature are available in the mind of beings born from beginninglessness till now, in order to have sentient beings with them. Each person, no one needs to teach, no need to study, but everyone knows close, direct, obscene, and hope. So it is called a crime.
b). Price is the crime not available in the tons but due to circumstances, due to infection that arises; such as drinking alcohol for example. In general, in addition to the four crimes of murder, virtue, lust, and hope, there are many other sins.
c). The moral precepts are to prevent the four crimes of sin, killing, directing, obscene. This is very important, but it is very difficult to keep. Holding on to these four precepts, austerities will result and the path of liberation will surely await the practitioner.
d). The gender precepts is the precept to prevent the sin due to the circumstances that the collective conduct arises. These precepts are less important than the aforementioned precepts. But to keep the gender identity in a less difficult way, it is necessary to keep the gender price. As a person who wants to cut large trees, first he has to cut branches; like a good army user, before he wants to occupy a big city, he must prevent the roads from entering the city.
V.- Conclusion
As we have pointed out, the purpose of the dharma that the Buddha showed us is to be enlightened, to be enlightened, and to be a Buddha. All sects, despite different policies and characteristics, but the ultimate goal is one: enlightenment and enlightenment.
Religious law does not go beyond the above purposes, although the method is different from most other religions, they must understand and then practice; The law is against the policy; cultivate and then will understand, keep the precepts to be serious, the mind will be calm, pure; The mind is pure, the wisdom will be clear, the mind will appear, the Buddha nature will be revealed.
What a very practical policy, but the results are sure! those who learn a lot without observing the precept are no different from the wind, can be very bright, but don't know when to turn it off. On the contrary, the less-than-the-narrow learning style that keeps the precepts in a godly manner is like a lamp with a chimney, when lighted, it is still flared, but it is not extinguished, the longer the fire clears.
Because of the arguments presented above, the Law of Religion must be suitable for all bases, especially for those that are slow to flood. In our life, we often see most people who are quick-witted, quick to understand, but because they often rely on themselves, refuse to put themselves in disciplinary discipline, so in the end, there's no good result. beautiful. On the contrary, those who have a mediocre disposition, sometimes flooding more often, but are more likely to succeed on the path of life as well as on the path, because they know the task of being close to discipline, not complacent, pride . Disciples of Buddha, does anyone have a miserable social status (carrying a stool) and a low position like Mr. Uu-Ba-Li! Yet U-Ba-Li became a disciple of Buddha, became a sage, just because he has strictly observed the rules! Here we are, the social position and position is certainly no less than Ushba,
2.- Pure Land Tong
Religion belongs to the Mahayana, advocates teaching people mindful mindfulness of Buddha to be reborn in the Pure Land of A-DI-Da Buddha. Therefore, this new religion is called Pure Land.
This is one of the many dharma disciplines of Buddha, which is characterized by ease of cultivation and proof, very suitable for the vast majority of the masses. With this practice, no matter what kind of people, in what time, under any circumstances, they can practice. If compared with the road, then this religion is a flat, spacious, cool, easy to go but quickly come, not afraid of dangerous obstacles in the middle of the road.
Because of these odd, so far, there have been countless people choose this method to practice. Particularly in Vietnam we, as old as today, many people are followers of this religion. That is why we urgently compile this article to introduce the "second spiritual path" of the ten Buddhist sects.
1.- Duyen Khoi Lap Tong
What is the track and field based on the track and field setting up? The classic that Pure Land has y-just so many. Here we will just mention a few basic sutras, often mentioned only. Those are the sets:
1.-Business immeasurable: This business is recorded 48 original vows of the Buddha Amitabha, while still a monk named Dharma. The content of these 48 vows is that: after becoming a Buddha, you will establish a very pure and pure country, to lead beings in the ten directions of the World, if these beings often recite. His name and often pray to be reborn in his pure land.
2.- The Quan Am Infinite Life: This Sutta clearly records 16 Dharma and 9 Food, to teach those who pray to be reborn in the Pure Land.
3. -A small business A-Di-Da: This business profile world realms of bliss, solemn (Pure Land) that makes people love and vow to cultivate according to the disciplines "maintain the mindfulness of Buddha to the one mind any rebellion ”to be reborn in that realm.
Three business on this is the main business; ancient people often called "three Jing Pure Land". There are also other suttas such as:
The Buu Buu records the Buddha's work because the King of Sanskrit and the seventy thousand people in his kin, said the practice of "reciting the Buddha's recitation" to pray for the birth of the Ultimate Bliss World.
Business of the Amitabha, Sutta of the six continents, the Buddhist committee to recite the Buddha's name, the Sūtra, the Sūtra, the Sūtra, etc.
The Dictionary of the Pure Land spread to China very early, but it was not until the Dong-ton period that Hue-long-term master succeeded to propagate it, so this religion became popular. He was the first ancestor in China. After that, the famous masters such as Mr. Dam Loan, Mr. Dao Xuoc, Mr. Thien-director, etc. are all using this method of cultivation and cultivating and transforming so many people and forever passing on to this day.
II. Four Realms of Pure Land.
The pure land is not only one, but many realms. Standing on the analytical aspect, from sacrifice to crude, can be divided into the following 4 Pure Land:
1.- Ordinary light of Pure Land: this is the realm where the Dharmakaya Buddha dwells. "Often" is not changed, not being destroyed, ie the Dharmakaya Buddha; "President" is far from the negativity, ie Buddha's Liberation; "Quang" is the illumination throughout the ten directions, ie the Buddha's Bat-elegant. So is this Pure Land realm of all three treasures of Buddha are Common, President and Quang, so called "Pure Citizenship Pure Land".
This Pure Land scene has no image but only the mind. Because the true nature of mind, or the nature of enlightenment, "is usually silent, shining and pure", it is called "Often pure clear light". Buddhas have already witnessed this realm, then the bar and the second degree, but because based on the following three types of Pure Land, it is called having Body and Land. Certificate to this place, if standing on the Body, it is called "Dharmakaya", also in degrees, it is called "Pure Land Optical Pure Land".
Business Tinh list, about the words will be written: Tu Nhon happy about teachers, when multiplication fullness, the Frustration Dieu Giac (Buddha) will be in the realm of "Ordinary President of Pure Land".
2.- Seven-grave solemn newspaper: practitioners go through three lives of accumulation of merit and virtue accumulated by virtue of their many spiritual lives and accumulate, making the realm of solemnity real- so called "True-solemn newspaper" Pure Land ”. This realm of Pure Land is the dwelling place of the Sambhogakaya Buddha Body. Business-infinity -they on the words will be written: "Tu-practice feet-true", feel good results, so called "Very solemn newspaper". On the Mahayana side of the Teachers, this realm is of the three sage (Head, Hanh, Direction); and outside the Mahayana Mahayana, then this is the realm of levels from the Decade to the Enlightenment Bodhisattva.
3.-Pure means of land: This Pure Land scene is not the ultimate end, but only the means. This is the Pure Land of the Second Vehicle. Although they have been able to break through the ants-and-and-private or in the three realms (sex, gender, and formlessness), there are two left: ignorance or and tran-sa or not. except, should be called "organic-residual". Already "organic-residual" means not yet completely saved-wing, so called this Pure Land is "Media-property-surplus Pure Land".
4.- Divine Holy Land Pure Land: This is the pure land of the Buddha Amitabha in the West. Already called the Pure Land, or Ultimate Bliss, however there are enough of the pure-solemn virtue, without fertilizing wicked animals. But this is because Buddha, Bodhisattva and other good people (saints) living with newly born beings, not being able to witness the holy fruit (the divine) should call it "The holy being in the Pure Land".
Because the majority of Vietnamese and Chinese Buddhists while practicing the Pure Land method, they all wish to be born in this Pure Land, that is, the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha, so here, we would like to base on the sutta "Small Patron Amitabha" recounting the Buddha-Shakyamuni description of the realm of this Pure Land: "... From this Ta-she realm, just to the West, how Here more than ten Buddha realms, there is a world called Ultimate Bliss. The teacher in that world is Buddha Amitabha, who often speaks Dharma. That realm has 7 layers of verse (wall-flower) seven layers of webs, seven beautiful trees, with a lake filled with eight merits. The bottom of the lake is all yellow sand. The four sides of the lake are filled with jewels and jewels. In the lake there are four-color lotus with large wheels, fragrant aroma, every color has a luminous aura. Around the lake, rise up the magnificent, beautiful castles made entirely of false security.
In the air, mixed with sacred music, there were birds chirping, presented by Buddha, to lecture for six times to the people. The listener then immediately started to recite the Buddha's name, recite the Dharma, and recite the Sangha. Not only the sound of birds, but also the sound of flowing water, the wind blowing, and the trees ringing, they also emitted a mysterious sound.
Such beautiful, solemn realms of Bliss are due to the merit of Buddha Amitabha (1) who is the lord of that realm and the Bodhisattvas and Saints together form the word Amitabha. The Chinese translates as "Immeasurable Longevity", or "Immeasurable Light", meaning that this Buddha lived for long periods of unpredictability and the radiance of illumination was also unintended.
(1) The word Amitabha, Chinese translates as "immeasurable life" or "immeasurable light", meaning that this Buddha lived for long and unpredictable luminosity and brightness.
III.- Three Elements To Be Purely Born
Want to be reborn, in the Pure Land above, pounding must prepare the following three elements: Tin, Prayer and Action. These three factors are often referred to as three-Luong (Luong Phan Street). If there is a lack of any food, the practitioner cannot practice well.
1.-What is "Tin"? - Faith is a firm faith, nothing is immovable. Faith is very important and necessary for spiritual practitioners. Kinh-Nghiem taught: "Believing is the birth of merit". Through faith, the Bodhi fruit can be achieved.
The news has three parts:
a). Belief in Buddha: Believe that Buddha is a complete being, who knows the wisdom, knows the past, the present and the future, sees all into the world, knows the dhammas clearly. Believing that compassion due to compassion, we want to save the suffering of samsaric rebirth for beings, that Buddha Shakyamuni said that the method of reciting the Buddha's name, so that all beings can practice according to the people who are reborn in the Pure Land. Believing that the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha were not damaged, Buddha Amitabha and the Pure Land were all real.
b). Believing the Dharma: Believing that the method of reciting Buddha's name is a method that is easy to cultivate, easy to witness, and sure. Believing that the 48 vows of Amitabha Buddha are fully effective in saving sentient beings, and if we practice them correctly, we will surely be reborn in the Pure Land of Buddha A- Di-Da.
c). Believe me: Believe that I have the ability and energy to cultivate this method. Believing that if we practice in accordance with the words of Shakyamuni Buddha taught in the Amitabha Sutras and maintain the name of the Buddha Amitabha until "one-pointedly rebellious", then when death how will you be born in the pure land.
2.-What is "vow"? May the promise - the promise, the aspiration, the will, the desire to do true things. May the attraction of the magnet stones, the wind sails of the boat, and the pinwheel of the plane. May prayer be the motivation for people to practice quickly.
Prayer is important like that, so the meditator must make a vow to be stable, always be persistent, persevere and cultivate according to this method of reciting the Buddha's name, day and night constantly reciting Buddha's name, earnestly wish to be born in the Pure Land. degrees of Buddha Amitabha.
To have an idea of the word "vow", we would like to quote the following three prayers, of the 48 prayers of Amitabha Buddha, while still doing Dharma-Bodhisattva:
- "After we become Buddha, sentient beings in ten directions, one believes and wants to return to our realm, from one thought to ten thoughts, if that being cannot be reborn, then we swear we will not become Chief-Enlightened One. , except those who slander the five contradictions and decry Chief Justice-Dharma ”.
- "If we become a Buddha, sentient beings of the ten methods of enlightening the Bodhi mind, cultivating merit, one willing to make a wish to be reborn in our country, like us, are not together with the masses. appears in front of that being, when we swear not to become Chief-awareness ”.
"If we become a Buddha, sentient beings in the ten directions hear our name, specialize in reciting our realms, and if we are not satisfied, then we swear we won't become Chief-Awareness."
3.-What is "On"? - Onion is practice, follow. If believing (believing) but not desiring or desiring (praying) is just plain and useless news. But if desire, desire (vow) but not to do (onions), then only desire, desire virtual, not to achieve any results. Therefore, Tin, May, Onions these three basic elements must always have enough, be eligible for rebirth-Pure land. Just like a prostrate, you must have three legs to be stable, lacking one leg, all of which must fall.
IV.- Method of Cultivation on Pure Land
After we have prepared all three elements or three dishes of the Pure Land above, we must take care of them immediately. But in order for it to be effective, we need to understand the austerities method well. Vv still know that dharma-disciplining Buddha is a very simple disciplines, just reciting Buddha's name is enough. But reciting Buddha's name also has many ways and many types, for which we would like to lead one of the following methods:
1.-Tri-recite the Buddha name: -In this Buddhist recitation, the meditator only focuses on reciting the name of the Buddha Amitabha. Every day from the moment he wakes up to the time he goes to bed, he must not recite. When walking, while standing, while lying down, while sitting, and when eating, before you sleep, you should never forget to recite Buddha's name. In addition to want to be more effective, practitioners-need to see the method "Business Buddhist nem" (see the ritual of reciting Buddha's name). When the concept is completed, the practitioner will repatriate the Pure Land.
2.- Join-recite the Buddha's name: -In this way of practice, the practitioner must refer to the study-consider the Buddha's recitation. As when reciting "Nam-tissue Amitabha Buddha", the practitioner must contemplate this recitation of the Buddha's words, where did he come from, and where did he go? Mindfulness for whom is reciting etc.? Thanks to the attentive attention to refer to such a recitation of the Buddha's name, the waves of thought-thought gradually subsided, the water of the present manifestation, the practitioner was "single-mindedly unmatched", until he died, he would be born. scene-world of Buddha. This concept of reciting Buddha's name is similar to the method of consulting the "first dialog" with Zen-ton, so it is called "taking-reciting Buddha's name".
3.- Quan-Buddhist concept: In this way of practice, practitioners-attentively observed the image of Buddha.
Practitioner-sitting in front of the Buddha image, paying attention to contemplating, observing the good generals that relate to the Buddha-nature of Buddha. As when contemplating the eyes of the Buddha, then thinking of the wisdom of Buddha; When contemplating the gentle smile of Buddha, think of the virtue of compassion and happiness of the Buddha. Thanks to the wisdom of the Buddha that the Si nature of fake action fades away; thanks to the merciful compassion of Buddha, the Birth of pseudo-practitioners diminishes ... Every time you add a good virtue of Buddha, a bad personality of pseudo-practitioners is reduced. The nature of the Buddha is like a ray of the sun, and the bad nature of the Buddha is like a stain; The more the sun's rays and the longer it shines, the faster the ink stain fades. In short, thanks to the attention of the good generals on the image of the Buddha, virtues such as compassion, joy, equanimity, and forgiveness are practiced and instilled in the mind of the practitioner; For a long time, the fake mind will be clear,
4.-Quan-memorial Buddha: - In this way of practice, the fake-seated seat a seat, even though there is no Buddha image in front of him, but the practitioner visualized as having Buddha-Amitabha Buddha, standing tall on the lotus, radiating radiance like a golden silk, covering his entire body. Practitioner-sitting upright, hands folded together, also thought he was sitting on the lotus-seat, was led by Buddha. Practitioners focus on contemplating forever like that; go, stand, lie, sit also do not stop thinking, until you open your eyes or close your eyes, you will see the Buddha, that is, the páhp shop is well-versed. When death, practitioners will certainly be reborn in the Pure Land.
In the Buddhist canon tam-soot records that: 'Buddha for Phu-King, said the French restaurant-idea white transparent ... ”. Quan-thought-white-white means the idea-white-white feathers have a shining aura, between the eyebrows of Buddha, like a full moon, clear as jade. This is a method of contemplating the Buddha.
5.-Truly reciting the Buddha's name: -Really reciting the Buddha's name, reciting the Buddha's name, you have reached the true mind. Chon mind does not kill, not past, not spoiled, so called "real minister".
In the legal concept of reciting the Buddha's name, the previous four dharmas belong to the practice, with reciting the mind; and the fifth dharma (truthfulness of reciting the Buddha's name) is physical: no longer, reciting is still cultivated, no longer energetic, superior. Reciting Buddha's name until this place is completely new.
But, practitioners must always remember that: thanks to Su, the new manifest. First of all, we have to practice the four dharmas to recite until we are mature and no longer find ourselves as a mindful person, Buddha is a recollected mind, only a quiet, enlightened mind, incompetent, compassionate, non-possessive, is not no. Come to this place, the Di-Da business called "be single-mindedly any disorder". Kinh Tu decade Children chapter; "Reciting thoughts into non-conceptual thoughts is the concept of thoughtfulness."
In the year of reciting the Buddha's name, from the past to the present, the Pure Land practitioner, often choosing the method of renunciation, is a method that is easy to take care of practitioners and practitioners at what level, where or when, can practice. What a very hateful method.
V.- Benefits of Dharma Recitation
The benefits of reciting the Buddha's name are immeasurable, and can be divided into two parts: the benefits of Su and the benefits of Li.
1.-Benefits of:
a) Reciting Buddha's name will eliminate defilements.
Those who meet with misery, such as death, separation, abnormal accidents, etc., birth to disturbing emotions, if they know the mind of reciting Buddha's name, then their afflictions and pain will gradually dissipate. Why are there such good results? Because I am like a stream of water always flowing. If we mix in dirty substances, the water becomes turbid; if we mix in the aromatic acrid, the water will become fragrant. If our mind only remembers the suffering, then there will always be disturbing disturbances. When we recite Buddha's name, we will naturally remember Buddha and forget suffering. This memory of Buddha replaces suffering; an hour of reciting the Buddha's name will convert one sorrowful day, one day reciting the Buddha's name will change one day of suffering. Just like that, if the recitation of Buddha is increased, then the sorrow and suffering will go away.
During the last Vietnam-France war, we brought the method of reciting Buddha's name to some people who were almost crazy and sad, because their careers were destroyed, their children and grandchildren lost, and they collected very good results. good.
b) Reciting Buddha's name will eliminate being reborn.
-The sentient beings everyday remember thinking of sinful things like greed, hatred, delusion, etc. Such are the bad karma of sentient beings. Now if we recite the Buddha's name, then we have no time to remember to think that the sin of nava practices these negative karmas again. Thus, the concept of Phàm will eliminate the concept of beings. The more you recite the Buddha's name, the less beings you recite. If reciting Buddha's name completely, reciting sentient beings will be clean.
c.-Reciting Buddha's name will make the body feel calm.-Our illness, partly due to the body, but partly due to the influence of the spirit. Many people lose their appetite because of hatred, disgrace, etc. As a result, long-term accumulation of gas in humans, which causes the loss of appetite and sleep. In such cases, if we recite the Buddha's name, the resentments that weigh down on our mind and heart will be poured out with the same breath, the same mindfulness, and our mind will be softened easily. bear. Those who are weak of heart, if reciting Buddha's name, will recover quickly. Because heart disease often makes people nervous, afraid; Now thanks to reciting the Buddha's name, the concentration and concentration of the thoughts will decrease. Therefore, it is possible to eat, sleep well and recover quickly.
d.-Recite Buddha's mind will be clear, learn quickly remember: -The mind of the disturbed mind is dark, like a wind-powered lamp, unable to light. By reciting Buddha's mind, the mind will be calm, like a lamp have chimney, do not move. Hence the mind will shine, like a lamp radiating light.
d) Reciting Buddha's name, when being born, he will be reborn in the Pure Land.-As we saw above, reciting Buddha's name gives us many practical benefits in the present life, in terms of spiritual qualities, about temperament and wisdom. But the greatest benefit is in the next life. If we practice this practice of reciting the Buddha's name, according to the Buddha's teaching, until we are "one-pointedly rebellious", then after we die, we will be reborn in the Pure Land, we will always see the Buddha listening to the Dharma, befriend the holy sage, and there are enough good conditions to continue to practice until the Buddhahood.
2.-Benefits of Physics:
When a practitioner recites Buddha's name, he is "one-pointedly unconcerned", the delusion is over, his pure mind appears. Chon's non-destructive mind is "Often", tranquil, pure mind is "President", extremely lucid mind is "Quang". , not elsewhere.
Again, the non-destructive mind is "Buddha Immeasurable-life"; Chon's endless projection of enlightenment is the "Buddha-Immeasurable Light" and that is also the "Pure Purity of the Dharma Body of Amitabha Buddha".
In short, when people recite Buddha's name until the time of expiration is reached, they become fully enlightened, then Amitabha Buddha or the Pure Land scene is only in their own mind, not far away. So should copy: "Nature Di-Da, pure idealism" is like that.
Through the above paragraphs, we see the concept of reciting the Buddha's benefit immensely. If the unbelievers have Amitabha Buddha, the Pure Land scene and even mind the Buddha's mind, they will also get many benefits as above.
VI.- The Consciousness and Purpose of the Pure Land of Bodhisattvas and Patriarchs
Let us not think that the Pure Land Dharma is a simple, simple Dharma practice only reserved for those who are low-minded and narrow-minded. In fact, although this Dharma does not require the practitioner to have a deep understanding, an outstanding intelligence, but because it is easy to cultivate easily and effectively, there should be many, Bodhisattvas and masters have been practicing this method to pray for birth in the Pure Land. Mr. Veng is a Bodhisattva who has an unsurpassed wisdom, which is unmatched, yet he also makes a vow to be born in the blissful country of Amitabha Buddha as follows:
Eternal love for life
The most eradication of the obstacles-obstacles
The audience was Amitabha Buddha
News prime-birth-being An-touch.
(I vow to come to death, to eliminate all obstacles, in front of seeing Amitabha Buddha, immediately return to birth in the bliss realm).
Bodhisattvas such as Mr. Samantabhadra, Quan-Yin, An-The-Chi also all vow to be born in the Pure Land.
The Patriarchs in other religions, although propagating their religion, still practice the Pure Land. Like Mr. Thien-Than, the ancestor of Duy-consciousness; Mr. Tri-fake-professor, the ancestor of Thien -Thai religious; Mr. Hien-thu, the ancestor of Hoa-ngàng religious; His Excellency Nguyen-Chieu lawyer, Lawyer Ton; Mr. Ma-Minh, Long -Thọ, the ancestor of Zen-religious, etc. also practice Pure Land Method.
After that, the famous masters in China, such as HE TAN Loan, HE DAO Xuoc, HE DAO, HE THUONG VIEN, HE Phap-projection, HE Thieu-Khuong, HE-Tinh-Am, etc. the subject is self-help and forgiveness, and forever handed down to this day.
VII.- Conclusion.
We have learned through the principles and principles of spiritual practice and the value of the Pure Land. Here we need to consider carefully, see if this method of cultivating the Pure Land is practical, beneficial and appropriate for us. In this important moment, let us be utterly honest: if we realize that this practice is clearly not appropriate for us, then we have the right to wait for a different method. But we realize that it has a practical value, certain benefits for our life in the present and the future, so we do not hesitate any more, please take care of yourself immediately. Time passed quickly, not waiting for anyone. Prepare immediately three quarter-salary dishes are Tin, Prayer, Planet and effort-diligent practice of reciting the Buddha.
With sincere earnest attitude, a determination not to change, we will certainly recite the Buddha to the "Unwavering mind".
3.- Zen Buddhism
A.- Introduction
Zen Buddhism belongs to both Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism. Like many other sects in Buddhism, the first enlightenment of Zen Buddhism was still Buddha. Before Him, the constant meditation of the pagans was not without. But it came to him that the method of stabilization came to an end. As we all know through his history, the Buddha had spent many years searching for the path and asceticism, but still had not achieved the desired result. He told the director that he must not go far but to find in his wise wisdom. and since then, always for 49 days and nights under the Bodhi Tree, he has sat in samadhi until midnight on the 8th of the second lunar month, at the beginning of tomorrow, when he "clears the mind", witnesses the many fruits of the Bodhi - threads ,. It was an unprecedented samadhi, opening the door to an extremely effective method of Bodhiism. And from then on, a separate religion was established. That is Zen Buddhism.
Why is it called Zen? - The religion is a sect of Buddha.
The word "Zen" is due to the word "Zen-na", a Sanskrit word, transliterated in Chinese and translated as determinative (self-determination). Combining both Sanskrit and Chinese, the word Meditation is created.
There are places to solve: The word "Meditation", formerly translated as "thinking", now translated as "Pure Land". Thinking means thinking, researching, thinking about the object of the mind (that is, just the mind) to make the mind clear.
The original "Sanskrit" Sanskrit is Samadhi, the Chinese transliteration is SIX, meaning to focus thoughts on a single scene without distraction.
Combining the two words Meditation and Concentration, we have a general meaning as follows: Concentrating thoughts on a single object, not allowing dissipation, so that the mind is quiet, the mind is clear, strong, to observing and thinking rationally.
The meditation method has two ways:
1.-Greedy about meditation, in order to clear the mind of awareness, enlightenment and enlightenment, should be called "Greedy meditation", such as consulting the first sentence (sayings of meditation) and so on.
2. -Focusing the thought to observe the truth clarification on something such as impure, compassionate shop, etc. should also be called "Contemplation".
There are places called tu "Only shop" or tu "Dinh hue". Just suspend the delusion, do not give boot, is intended. Quan is observing for unraveling a problem which is Hue.
"Only" is loving, but "Concentration is the fruit."
"Quan is Nhan", and "Hue" is the result.
Principle Of Zen Buddhism
All sentient beings, going through many lifetimes, must drift in the sea of birth and death because of being ignorant.
Why is there enchanting ignorance? we daily lose-love (1), green-sex (2), bowl style (3), stirring, making our minds to be obscured; as well as a flickering lamp, unable to make it clear, to destroy the darkness around and enlighten the landscape. Our mind will never be disturbed by the continental wind (4). Because the mind lamp wobbles (not intended), the wisdom light cannot radiate; and the light of wisdom does not shine, so it suddenly shatters the dark cloud of ignorance around and does not illuminate the truth of the universe.
———————————————————-
(1) Lovelorn: Hard, angry, loving, afraid, love, hate, want.
(2) Luc-education: The sex-born-green-born.
(3) Bat-phong: Loi, failure, destruction, projections, confession, muscle, suffering, peanuts.
(4) Six-ceiling: Six-scene-is: color, sound, flavor, taste, contact, France.
So the fake-practitioners want to clarify the truth of the universe, want to be mindful of becoming Buddha, they must destroy the darkness of ignorance. Want to destroy ignorance of darkness, practitioners must make their wisdom light clear. If you want to become a yogi, you must cultivate meditation. The mind has concentration, which generates wisdom. Wisdom has arisen to eliminate the ignorance of darkness, and with the mind to realize Buddha nature.
Just hearing the policy of Zen-ton, we see nothing new, and thought it was so easy; But when it comes to realization, it's not that easy. Meditation practice, on the other hand, is very difficult, often has to be led by knowledge-good people, it takes a lot of elaborate and patience, it takes a long time, to get results.
B.- Types of Meditation
Meditation has many types, many things. There is secondary, deviant, secondary, shallow, secondary meditation of the pagan, there is meditation of Pham-Phu, there is meditation of Hinayana, the meditation of Mahayana.
Listen to him Ton-Mat Zen-master taught: "... Who wants to pray Saint-Dao, must practice meditation." Chon-nature is not dirty and clean, holy and divine. But meditation-meditation shallow and deep, each disagreeing with:
- Deviant people, attachments, stars in touch, superior realms, bored in the lower realms that meditation is a pagan meditation;
- The Chief Justice is faithful, but also uses the upper realms of boredom under the monk to practice meditation, which is divine meditation;
- The person who clearly knows the reason of "not falling" but who meditates is Hinayana meditation;
-The enlightened reason is "falling, not at risk" that cultivates meditation, is Mahayana meditation;
-The self-enlightened mind, this ancient capital pure, no negativity, full of non-smuggled wisdom, that mind is Buddha, ultimately no different; y according to that mind meditation is paramount meditation, also called "feet like tam black"
Because there are many different types of meditation, before we want to practice properly, we need to know briefly the meditation practices, to get lost in dangerous ways.
I.- Zen Buddhism
In this pagan meditation, we would like to refer to the pagan types of meditation such as Taoism, Brahmanism, hypnotic practices, and evil practices that meditate with the purpose of not being righteous.
Why is it called chon Chanh? -According to the Buddhist concept, what actions are not aimed at cultivating the mind nature, suppressing the defilements of smuggling, to pray for the liberation of samsara, are not the Chief Justice. Based on the above concept that critique, the evil practices of meditation or the types of meditations of the pagan are not righteous; because those who practice this meditation only aim to pray for a long life, to be healthy, to have the miraculous power to roam the world, to have miracles, mysteries to tempt, fascinate people, or be elves to enjoy the pleasure of the fairy scene ...
Because they use the non-righteous mind, cultivate the mindless method, aim for short-sightedness, superficiality, and are motivated by the defilements of greed, hatred and delusion, their meditations are not exhaustive and all good. Let us first talk about the evil practices of meditation.
1.- Evil meditation: Read the kind of book of repulsion, we often heard of the animals such as white snake, fox, fox, monkey, apes ... long-term cultivation in the deep forest deep mountains, finally strengthening There are miracles, transformations. But their purpose is to pray for many rules to be near women, to harm the people, to captivate the honest people, to satisfy the nature. These are evil goblins, which today are hard to believe in their eyes. But perhaps the ancients wanted to make such a mischievous goblin story, to imply that the animals, if cultivated for years, could be more magical than humans. But because they lacked kindness and kindness, the higher the magic, the more disastrous they were.
We also often hear a sorcerer training a female spirit (skull). They also concentrate on thinking, practicing mental tranquility, and when being sincere, and when succeeding, they can send down the infantry, be told by the devil to the past and future ... not less.
It is also due to spiritual practice, but by using evil mind, it should be called meditation, and the result is harmful to us and the people of society.
Let us listen to the Buddha's teaching. Ananda in the Lankavatara sutra on the meditative conundrums:
"..A-Nan! If the monk meditates without obscene, then decided to fall into the magic, frustrated into a demon lord, annoyed into loyal ghosts who became a witch. Because its root is lewd, how can we stop being reborn? "
"... Ananda! If a monk meditates without the passage of killing, then directs to the Shinto; exasperated into the great demonic force, the disloyalty who made the pilgrimage fluttering and the demonic generals, frustrated to make the land of Satan and the demons ... "
"... Ananda! If a monk meditates without eliminating the mind of robbery, then he will fall into the evil cult; Upset became the goblin, annoyed as the devil, annoyed as the evil was entered by the evil (shadow) ... ".
2.-Meditation of Taoism: According to the sutras left by the Tao, such as the Huynh-dinh, or the Tanh lam Khue, etc. planet, qi and god. Crystal, air is the owner of the body; God is the owner of life. When the spirit of greed is too strong, the spirit will wear out. Therefore, it is necessary to subtract sexual desire so that the body can be opened and discovered.
The prophet said that all body armor has acupuncture points, that is, yin and yang air vents; acupuncture points at the bottom of the foot called chi negative; vented at the top of the head is natural. Air going up is positive air, down gas is negative gas.
The first practitioner cultivates the lost syllable, leaving only the pure positive air to go to the top of the head, which is magical and enlightened. Why must eliminate negative air? Because the sound of air is the air, making it heavy, dark, lustful, lustful. As long as the spirit of propaganda is broken, the spirit is the most lucid movement, which is also in communion with heaven and earth and is stuck. ” Therefore, the mortal is still heavy in the negative air, and the first is only pure positive gas (1).
"In order to train qi, the first practitioner has many practices that are almost like meditation, meaning sitting in a pure place, then practicing things like:" Sitting, "" Assigning the celestial pillar, " listing ”.vv.
In short, those who follow this religion, if they are devoted to focusing on the mind, practice "Refining" the "Qi", practicing the "Qi" turning into "Success", after being proficient, are also able to transform the five miracles chemistry. They became elves, able to fly astray world. Or they collect water from the moon, practice solos to cure diseases or drink for everlasting life to become elves.
These fairies, unfortunately, we cannot see them today, so we are not sure whether they will or not. But even if there is, in theory, these people have not been illegally gonorrhea, "defilements of smuggling and possession are not over", so when their troubles are disturbed, they will fall down as well, when in the case of Mr. Uất-Đầu -Lâm-Phách, or Mr. Tô -Gi-Tiên-Nhân.vv ... Moreover, even if they train their body to be immortal, they cannot be satisfied, because this body is the four great false heroes, all must be governed by impermanence, cannot live forever. It is again the family containing impure things, even if you nourish for the end, it will eventually disintegrate. Because of that, austerities must see it as a raft brought across the river, when crossing the river, should not pity the raft but would not go ashore.
In the set of Qui-Yuan Truc only, there is a story of Mr. Lu Dong Dong Tan, a student of Tien Hon Chung Ly. After defending against the defeated Venerable Huynh Long, he abandoned Tien to Buddhism. The reason for the Buddha's head is because Mr. Lu Dong Tan found himself using the wrong mind and went astray. Therefore, he wrote the following poem to say his mistake:
Original:
Gas disclaimer of spokes, stimulus
As long as the central pineapple pineapple dumb
From the most spare Huynh Long Hau
The first part of seeing the mind
Translate:
Leaving the floor of Spirit medicine throwing the harp.
I now regret the gold saliva (2)
Since meeting the venerable Huynh Long
I only knew the wrong use before.
(see the first book Lu Dong Tan Buddha)

3.-Practicing Yoga (Yoga). Yoga is an Indian noun, the root is Yuj; Ships translates as "Yoga", literally "putting oneself under a yoke"; figuratively "binding the mind and body to a strict rule" restrains itself according to a special discipline, whose goal is to focus the whole body, mind and body to the nature of heaven and earth.
Yoga is also called Indian air training, which closely resembles that of Taoism. According to Yoga in the human body there are many points; seven of them are from the anus to the top of the head. The seven points are sprawled along the backbone, and there is a path up and down a connecting line. Because of the delusion and the desires that obscure the seven points that are obstructed, making the "feet" from under "fire" (the anal) can not be up. Especially because the body is not practicing, the spine is bent, so the points are stuck. So in order for the runner (ie the divine power in humans) to pass through the acupuncture points, up to the top of the head, you have to focus on training the spine to be simplified, the joints are clear and straight.
To achieve the aforementioned purpose, yogic practitioners must practice many postures, such as the "backless" posture "plow" position, the "banana planting" posture (venting head down, backward leg up in the sky) , to allow the rearguard to circulate to the top of the head.
Today Yoga is popularized through the European-American countries, almost a movement. Most people think of it as a method of exercise, to train the body to be healthy, to be wise, to calculate and work more and more effectively. Some people go further, want to practice Yoga to live long, young forever, beyond the demands of the body full of lust, to escape the worries, fears everyday and live a life. peaceful, free. There is another class who hope that Yoga will make them discover the hidden powers hidden in humans and make them extraordinary characters, magical powers, miracles, they also focus the mind, focusing attention as the meditation practices; In addition, they also practice in a very miserable manner, torturing the body, making it endure extreme challenges, such as sun exposure,
These people, when cultivating to a high level, also performed miracles, such as cutting knives without breaking, piercing without puncture, chewing bottles, drinking acid okay, lying down, sleeping for 3 months without eating or drinking. etc ...
But no matter how much they succeed, it is impossible to escape outside the mundane world of willow and death and clear awareness
"Yoga and meditation" in Public Weekly, No. 219
"Gold saliva: for Tien practitioners, saliva is so precious they never spit out because they are afraid of losing gas, and use their saliva to practice elixir.
(1) Gold saliva: For a monk, saliva is very precious, they never spit out because they are afraid of losing gas, and use their saliva to train into a miraculous substance.
4.- Practice hypnosis. This is also a meditation practice of the pagan religion, now very popular in the world. The principle of this cultivation method is also to apply the mind to one place so that the spirit has the power to control things. The practitioner hypnotized, at first sitting still, staring at a black dot painted on the wall, letting the mind focus on it, but no longer paying attention to an object around. They sit for hours like that, when the spirit is no longer chattering, and have the power to convince others that they succeed. Good hypnotherapists can use hypnosis to cure illnesses or mislead others to do extraordinary things, such as going to another country to visit relatives, retelling the past or a precursor of a others, etc.
In short, thanks to the mental energy that has been concentrated into strength, hypnotists can force others to do strange things according to their own will. But because of the advantage, the mind is not righteous, just greedy for the occult, the mysteries outside, do not worry except for negativity, smuggling, cultivate the inner nature, to be mindful of awareness so it is not the right path. By the time when the defilements of property, the gonorrhea, or the color of greed, etc. are created, all the magical powers and magic effects are lost. That's why Buddha taught his disciples: "When enlightened, you will naturally have magical powers." If the miracle is not enlightened, then the magic power will be lost.
II.- Phàm Phú Meditation.
Phàm phu meditation is also called the mundane meditation. The reason is called ordinary or meditative world because these methods of meditation have not been able to bring the meditator out of the three realms, have not been able to attain the holy fruits, but are still circling within the ordinary world or the world. Laws such as the Fourth Jhana, the Fourth Jhana, etc. are all part of the meditation practice.
1.- The Fourth Jhana, which is the four stages of meditation, is gradually gone from the mundane part of the gross fun to the pure sacrifice vuivi. These four stages of meditation take place as follows:
A.-Profile meditation, joyful joyful being.-The practitioner starts with the boring mind of the defilement of education, and wishes to be separated from the glass of the sex world, the practitioner is happy. (being happy). That is the result of the first stage of meditation.
b.- Second meditation, happy being happy.-But the aforementioned joy, makes the mind chao, need to end except; so one has to go to samadhi. When the result is coming, the gross joy of the first meditation ends and the subtle joy in the samadhi is reborn; so gòila so "born of Hy".
c.-Tam meditation, joyful magic joy-The joy in the second meditation, although subtle, but still makes the heart flutter, so the practice should leave the joy in the second meditation. When this joy is abandoned, another miraculous joy arises; so should call "Ly Hy magic touch".
In the sutras often written: The realms of tam thièn are more joyful (marvelous), because in the lower realms there is only gross pleasure, while in the upper realms the president is pure President, no longer happy.
d.-Four meditation, discharge pure concept.-In the third realm of meditation, though all the rough pleasures of the First Jhana and the Second Jhana; But there is still miraculous joy. But as long as fun, the mind is not completely pure. Practitioners have to go up one more step, go into the fourth meditation, the whole mindfulness is always happy, so that the mind will be pure, so it should be called "Pure Mindfulness".
2. -The four not determined.-After having gone through the four meditation and has achieved the fullness, practitioners continue to practice meditation and will go through the four stages called the following four non-determinative. The reason is called the quadrilateral, because when entering these four, the heavenly emperor will no longer see the consciousness of the mind.
No boundless land of origin.-The meditator has attained the four meditation, the mind has been completely pure, but still sees the world of beauty, and the body is still in sight and bound by the knot, so the mind is boring. To leave the forms of body and sight, the meditator enters into the first samadhi of the emptiness, merging with the "boundless void", that is, there is no separation, the boundary of the scene.
b) Infinite knowledge of the land of origin.-The meditator, after having determined the first of the four things, leaves the appearance of body and sight, finds the boundlessness of nothingness, but still retains the narrow self, still see the border of consciousness; When achievements, ie can enter the realm "Boundless knowledge".
c) Infinite possession of the land of origin: -The sage, though he no longer sees the boundary and separation of consciousness, but still sees the self, the mind, and the omnipotent; and people, also found possessive. So the meditator must rise to another level, away from the agitation, energy, or concentration "Without possessing the land" (the world does not own).
d) Non-perception, non-ideal origin.-Meditation when entering the "No property", no longer see the self, energy, but still "thought". But also thought it was disappointing. So the meditator must advance one more step into the realm of "Unimaginable samadhi". But utterly unthinkable, does not mean that there is no inanimate like rock; utopia, but not utopia of rocky soil. Unimaginable and still lucid as a mirror, but not a plank or a stone face. That is the meaning of the realm of "Africa, non-idea."
There are places to say the "four not" belong to the pagan, but the meditator, starting from the First Jhana to the Third Jhana, at the moment there are two dull roads: A path to the Five-na-function (1) in heavenly realms (2) belong to the realm of the third holy (3); a path to the emptiness of the formless, the outer world.
(1) A-Na-Ham is the five realms A-Na-Ham: a) No bother, b). Heat, c). good opinion, d).
(2) The four meditation realms have nine realms in addition to the five realms of the A-na function, there are also four realms: Vo Van, blessed, promiscuous, unimaginable.
(3) Hinayana texts have four Arahant fruits belonging to the third
III.- Second Thua Thien Meditation
Nhi Thua ay Tieu-yana meditation, which belongs to the worldly meditation, means that practitioners who follow these types of meditation can go beyond the world and escape samsara. However, this method of meditation practice does not bring about a quick and big result like the Mahayana meditation methods, but only a slow nature, sequentially, a bundle, one practice can only be dispelled Brain; meaning that the result is small and limited, so it belongs to the Second Vehicle (the Second Vehicle is the Sravaka and Pratyekabuddha).
The second Hinayana meditation has many methods of practice, such as the Five Families of the Mind, the Eighth Formation of the Land, the Eightfold Fruit of Origin, the Eight Noble Truths of the Land of origin, the Nine Noble Truths of Contemplation, the Six Continents to Win, the Six Paths of Magical Mind, Clever meditation, Bat Niem, Ten ideas, Four disciples, Lion diligence, transcendental eighty, Thirty-seven assistant products .. summed up, the results of the Second Mantra meditation can bring the teachings of one or the practices of the Second Vehicle to contemplate meditation.
In the limited scope of this popular post, we cannot say all the practice of the Second Vehicle, let me briefly describe a few methods. If the practitioner wants to go deep into this path of practice, he must specialize in learning, he must ask the master to teach him, it must take a lot of time and a lot of practice to succeed.

Conclusion About the Second Mantra
The meditation methods of the Second-Hinayana or Hinayana mentioned above, as many readers have seen, are beyond description. However, the practitioner wants to give results, must choose any method appropriate to his level, not having to meet any method of practice according to this method. This choice also needs to be guided by masters. Therefore, we often hear that in the past the priests went "praying for the Dharma", from country to country, not managing hard work and labor, sometimes sacrificing their lives. Praying for dharma means seeking for a master to teach spiritual methods, such as Mr. Thien-Tai went to visit 53 men of Good-court-consciousness, Huyen-Trang traveled throughout China and then went to India to pray for the Dharma. Practitioner after being accepted by the master, he still has to follow his servant for a very long time for him to observe, explore his inborn quality and level carefully.
Practitioners should also remember a threat, is that on the path of practice should not be burying, hot-tempered in vain. The austerities as well as planting trees, can not be impatient. The man who planted the tree, worried about watering and fertilizing, did his duty, and waited patiently; until the weather is strong enough, the tree will bear fruit naturally.
The spiritual practitioner, too, every day lo practice, hoarding for many years, until the round of fullness, the mind of mind is mminh mind.
Remember that spiritual practice has to go through many lifetimes, not one or two to become Buddha.
IV.- Mahayana Meditation
Mahayana Meditation is the practice of meditation in Mahayana, also known as the upper-upper world position. This meditation is only for those who are wise and cleverly cultivating. The Mahayana Bodhisattva Bodhisattva has many lifetimes in many lifetimes, breaking all the gross troubles, only the subtle acts of ignorance, if this life has met the Master who only allowed the Mahayana to meditate Behold, it will be enlightened. Just like flowers about to bloom, just a little extra effort to cultivate, the flowers will bloom immediately. The basic element of Mahayana meditation is wisdom. The fake meditator must take wisdom to observe self-nature. Without wisdom, meditation-meditators will hardly get results when practicing Mahayana meditation.
The Meditation Meditations of the Mahayana
The meditation methods of Mahayana are very much like: Dharma-flower tam-soot, reciting Buddha tam-soot, Ban-tam-soot, Sense-tam-soot, Prime-rising-researching tam-soot-Tu-Tanh -thien, Nhut-the-meditation, Nhut-nh-meditation, Compassion-meditation, Nhut sacrifices meditation, Except mind-brain meditation, Try substituting meditation, Thanh-pure tranquility meditation, Self-nature thanh-thanh meditation, Tathagata ultimate meditation, Ðat-ma-to-meditation .vv
Here we study through some of the usual meditation-meditation method of Mahayana.
1.- Why is it called "Dharma flower tam-soot"?
This method is based on the Mahāvastā Sutta. Practicing this practice, the mind of enlightenment is all things and is free-being-rings (readers who want to clarify, see the comment of Mr. Tri-Author-Dai-Su).
4.- Why is it called "Strictly tam san"?
This method is based on the Prime Minister. Practitioners must realize that all things are from the mind-like Tathagata-Tammy, depending on their predestination, as illusory, as chemical. Understand that all things are illusory like chemicals, and based on that reason, take part in meditation-meditation, so it is also known as manifestation.
5.- Why is it called "Self-nature meditation, Nhut meditation, nan meditation, etc."?
Meditation dishes such as "Nature meditation, Nhut meditation, Nan meditation, Nhut meditation." Kindness meditation, Nhut world meditation, Except negativity meditation, Try tha tha meditation, Thanh-pure meditation, "including all nine dishes and called Mahayana meditation.
The reason for this meditation is called Mahayana naylaf, because the Bodhisattvas rely on him to follow these meditations, so that the monks and nuns do so, they will be able to perform immeasurably and deeply dutifully (readers who want to understand) more, read "Nguyen French world subject to disciple" by His Tri-fake Ðại-Professor composed).
6.- Why is it called "Truc-only meditation"?
Truc-only meditation is a meditation that points directly to the heart, sees the nature of Buddha, does not use the means of cultivation and does not need scripture.
7.- Why is it called "Tathagata pure-meditation"?
Tathagata pure-meditation is the pure-meditation of Tathagata. As we all know, Shakyamuni Buddha before he was enlightened, sat and meditated for 6 years under a Bodhi tree. After breaking all ignorance negativity-brain, the mind is pure, He proved to be Bodhi. Therefore, this meditation is called "Tathagata pure-meditation".
8.- Why is it called "Tathagata Supreme-Meditation Vehicle"?
This is a higher meditation than all the meditation that Tathagata has applied.
9.- Why is it called Dat-Ma To-Su?
As we have heard, His Holiness Dat-Ma, after coming from India to China to evangelize, sat face-to-face on the ripe wall, at Shaolin Temple to take a meditation. Meditation Master Dat-Ma is a meditation practice that he has practiced at Thieu-Lam temple.
The meditation of Mahayana, like the readers have seen above, although many unspeakable, achievements-center can be divided into two broad categories:
1.- A type often called tam-soot, based on the Buddhist scriptures' teachings that train, practice and practice, have certain methods, such as Dharma-flower tam-soot, recite Buddha's name- soot, Ban-Chau tam-soot, Sense-idea tam-soot, Thu-increase-serious tam-soot etc. ... These types of tam-soot are organized, have a certain method and are popular in writing, relatively less difficult and more mysterious than the second type of letter we are going to talk about below, so there are many cultivators and a great deal of achievements.
2.- A second type, taught without a scriptural basis, without writing, that is, a type of meditation "externally transmitted, incompetent," as in the "Dharma-meditation" , Tathagata purity-meditation, Self-nature purity-meditation, Tathagata-supreme vehicle meditation, Dat-Ma-master meditation etc. With this type of meditation is the enlightened person before using his mind-enlightenment to seal-witness to the enlightened person. That is the kind of meditation "The mind of mind, directing only the mind to realize the nature of Buddha": The master uses his mind to contact the disciple's mind, directly transmitting his enlightenment through the mind of the disciple; like using a bright light to emit light that his mind emits to shine on the disciple's disciple; and this mind also thanks to the direct influence of the enlightenment of teachers that light up and transmit from teacher to student, from generation to generation. This kind of meditation is a kind of multi-building meditation which is passed from Shakyamuni Buddha to the Sixth Patriarch. This is an orthodox, direct way of "evangelizing" or "propagating", but not as common as the preceding one, because each life is transmitted to one person, but cannot be transmitted to many people at a time. And the one to be affirmed must be an outstanding, superior position, unrivaled.
This method of teaching meditation has two ways:
a). Consult a first line. The first dialogue is a good meditation sentence, "justice", which means a project or thesis containing a very short, but profound meaning, to ordinary people who cannot understand it.
When a Patriarch of this Zen-religious sect realized that there was an outstanding monk among his disciples who could keep the religious lineage of Zen-Ton's career and show him the enlightenment, the Patriarch awarded give the disciple a first-line sentence (a thesis, as now, doctors or doctors, before graduation, must submit to the jury). This disciple, night and day watching the first sentence, sometimes it takes ten years or fifteen years to realize it. After seeing that his disciple had already realized the color of enlightenment, the new Patriarch sealed the seal for him.
b). But sometimes the Master didn't give his disciples a first line of dialogue for advice, but used very strange forms, which are often difficult for people to understand such as: hitting, shouting, shouting. hide, invite to eat, drink tea, etc. for example; such as having a disciple come to direct a teacher, who did not say anything, just used Zen to beat the other disciple to see how the reaction was. . Due to the reaction, the Patriarch knew whether the other disciple was enlightened or not.
(See Dharma Sutra Pitaka).
In summary, this meditation is very miraculous, inconceivable, so the ancients said, "Magical muscle meditation" (miraculous meditation machine). The Patriarchs during the mission, not based on a certain principle, a certain method. They depending on the opportunity that improvised, that is, observing the root of the guide, whether it is timely, and what method must be used for the other disciple to be enlightened, then France. Of course, this method they use only temporarily. Therefore, it is not possible to know in advance what methods they will use for the transmission.
Later, some people imitated methods such as hitting, screaming, etc. but because they did not know the opportunity, it only made people feel pain and fear, but it did not work.
The Lineage of the Groups in the Zen School in India
1.-Mr. Ma Ha Ca Lettuce, the First Patriarch of Zen-religion in India:
In the Buddhist discourse, the Buddha decided and in the first book "Adaptation of ancient statistics", the pagoda copied roughly as follows: When Buddha was in the Linh Son Association, Mr. Dai Pham Thien Vuong brought the lotus to the Buddha. Buddha picked up the lotus stems to enlighten the masses. The whole assembly is quiet, no one understands what the Buddha meant. Only Mr. Ma Ha Ca Lettuce was able to realize the meditation of the Buddha, so he changed his face to be happy, to smile and to smile. The Buddha noticed, immediately seal (certification) for Ca-Lettuce was inherited and the first nest (Preliminary ancestor in India) Buddha tuyen announced as follows:
Original:
Ngo Huu district legal eye organ

Vi magic method, kim rich Ma Ha Ca Lettuce
Translate:
Ta government "Chief Justice viscera", also known as Nirvana magic mind ", also named as the Prime Minister formless" also called "Abhidharma method", now I transmitted to Mr. Ma Ha Ca Lettuce.
After that, the Buddha transmitted the medicine bowl and said the following verse:
Original:
Dharma has no law
Lawlessness, herons
Kim phuong timeless
The law of dharma is tangible
Translate:
The legal capital is not legal
No dharma is also dharma
Now transmits the lawlessness (formlessness)
No law has any law.
This is the original source of initiation for Zen Buddhism, taking the mind to transfer the mind (of the mind's mind) without using scriptures and means.
2.- Mr. Ananda, the second Patriarch of Zen Buddhism in India:
One day Mr. Ananda asked Ca-Lettuce:
- In addition to the transmission of medicine, Shakyamuni also transmitted anything specific to Him?
Ca-Lettuce to call out loud:
- A-Nan!
Ananda: Yes!
I continue to teach:
- The pole in front of the temple falls!
Mr. A-Nan lièn revealed enlightenment, should be transmitted by Ca-Lettuce and sealed to be the second ancestor. (see Buddhist dictionary, page 1638 on the "Ca-Lettuce suicide").
From Ananda to later, there are 26 more Patriarchs. Including Mr. Ca-Lettuce and Mr. An-Nan, in India there are a total of 28 Patriarchs, the following sequence:
1 .- The Hymns of Ca Lettuce
2. Tổ A-Nan

These twenty-eight ancestors were made brilliant for Buddhism in India, not just for Zen Buddhism, which later spread throughout the globe, in large part due to the merits of these 28 Patriarchs. Nowadays, when mentioning names like Ma Ha Ca Lettuce, An Nan, Homeland Religion, Ma Minh, Long Tho, no Buddhist is unknown. And this fact proves that most famous Patriarchs are in Zen Buddhism. This remark is not only proven in India, but also in China, Japan and Vietnam.
The Lineage of the Zen Monastery In China
1.- His Holiness Bodhidharma, the First Patriarch of Zen Buddhism in China.
After Bat Nha Da La, the 27th Patriarch of Thien Ton in Amo-India, sealed the 28th nest, Bodhidharma stayed in India for a little while, and obeyed his master's blessings, he was born. Chinese missionary.
He went to China to take care of the reign of Luong Vo De (528 dl.), Who came to see the king and hoped that the king would help a great deal in spreading Buddhism in China. But recognizing that the king's roots were still low and that his beliefs were only superficial in appearance, Dat Ma was sent from the king to practice at Shaolin Temple, in Trung Son (Wei Land). He sat and built his face against the wall, took part in the samadhi concentration for nine years, waited for a convenient opportunity to evangelize (see the book Datac Ma, published by Huong Dao). It is this way of meditating that requires later being named "Dat Ma, the founder of meditation". During the nine-year period, he meditated in Shaolin, many monks heard his name, came to pray, but he did not receive anyone. It is also a method of examining the inborn nature and mind of people who come to pray for their devotion to the religion. Among those who came to pray, only one of them showed great patience, daring to sacrifice everything for the sake of religion. That was Lord Than Quang, who was later sealed by Dat Ma to the second nest of Zen Buddhism in China, and changed his name to Hue Kha.
In order to make the guideline for the meditator afterward, the Den Dat Ma also passed on the strange Lankavatara Sutta including 4 volumes, very valuable.
2.- His Excellency Hue Kha (Than Quang), the second Zen Master of China.
Lord Quang, heard the name of Dat Ma's ancestor coming to pray. But the group did not continue. Lord Quang Quang knelt for several years on the porch of the temple; but the nest also doesn't consider it. Finally, to show my utmost sincerity. At that time, the new Dat Ma team turned around and asked:
What bridge did you come here for?
He answered:
France peace of mind.
Patience:
He brought the mind here to make us safe.
Sir:
I can't find the mind.
Teaching Team:
I have peace of mind for you already!
He immediately enlightened. Patriarch Dat said the following verse, while giving the dharma to Hue Hui Kha:
Original:

Translate:

3.- Mr. Tang Shan, the third ancestor of Zen in China.
Hui Hui, after a period of practice, again impressed for the Sangha as the bacu animal zen in China.
4.- HE Dao Tin, the fourth ancestor of Zen Buddhism in China.
Sangha transmits the Dharma to the Tao Dao as the fourth. The transmission of the law divided into two lines, led by the following two heads.
Mr. Hoang Nhieu is located in Dong Son mountain, Huynh Mai district.
Mr. Dharma Dung in Niu Dau, also known as "Taurus" Meditation.
5.- Mr. Hoang Rings, the fifth ancestor of Zen Buddhism in China.
The word Hoang patience means extreme patience and enduring. These two words can summarize an entire dharma story, encompassing many of the following patience qualities:
One day, Dao Dao Tin, the fourth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, saw an old man coming to pray for the goodness of the mind, and being able to receive the dharma teaching. But because his age was old, he could no longer live long, so the four ancestors taught:
I am old, he is old! If we gave him a few days to die, and then he died, who would stay and preach? So if you can change your body, I will evangelize! The old man said:
If you do not go to change the body, but missed the President was first passed, how to evangelize me?
The Fourth Patriarch taught:
I will stay forever to wait for you.
Obedient to the teaching, he went around the stream, saw a girl washing on the bank. The old man asked:
You let me sleep through one night, okay?
The girl answered:
please ask my parents.
The old man continued:
If you agree, I'll ask later.
The girl answered:
Yes, please
Being heard, the old man disappeared into the forest and left his body.
And the other girl, without a husband, has since become pregnant. Being chased by her parents, the girl had to leave home to beg hard, enduring so much suffering. After giving birth to a few-year-old baby, she carried him to the temple. The baby saw the four groups, happy and smiling. The team said:
-I'm looking forward to you!
The group asked the baby to raise it and named it Hoang Rings. He named it means that: Patience has waited, not dead to wait for a mission, and the mother has suffered shame, injustice, misery to give birth to the baby.
The Taoist Foundation nourishes the baby until it is old enough to give the Dharma instruction. Mr. Hoang Rings is the fifth ancestor of Zen Buddhism. After the mission was completed, the four new religions passed away.
6.- HE Hue Nang the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism in China.
Hue Nang was a poor boy when he was young. He did not know what to write. He specialized in collecting and selling firewood to sell money to support his elderly mother. One day, the firewood came to sell to a rich man. While waiting, he listened to the owner recite the Kim Cang prayer. Arriving at the sentence "Falcon your head, being unborn", He immediately enlightened the director.
Waiting for the host to finish chanting, he admired and asked,
Or is he good at chanting?
I also want to recite the recitation read like him.
He told him:
In Dong Son mountain, Huynh Mai district, virtue of Sleeping God, often transmitting Buddha degrees, he should go there and pray.
- He answered:
I want to be like that too; Strictly old mother no one nourished so do not know whether to do!
- Phu Ong said:
If you're really determined to become a monk, then come back and try to cut down lots of firewood and wood, bring me gold here. He took the gold and left to raise his mother, then went home.
- Mr. Hui Nang rejoiced to return, day and night trying to cut a lot of firewood, sold it to Phu Ong, and after finishing the housework, he went to Huynh Mai district to pray to the worship of the Great Patriarch Hoang Rings.
- The five founders asked him:
Where did you come from and come here to pray for something?
- He answered:
I come from the South to pray to be a Buddha.
The five founders see his peculiar shape, but the nature is extraordinary profit, can connect the ancestors later. He did not want them to know, so he rebuked aloud:
He is the barbarians of the South that pray to become a Buddha?
- Mr. Hue Nang answered:
White ancestor! Although the human body has a divide between the North and the South, the Buddha nature is still equal, regardless of the North and the South.
The five ancestors were afraid in the public to notice and reveal secrets, so they did not ask anything more, but commanded him to go down to the house to farm rice.
Over a long period of time, one day the Five Founders found themselves getting old, wanting to choose the ancestor's transmission, should declare that:
If anyone makes the shelf rise, is enlightened to meditate, then he will seal and pass the Dharma to the Sixth Patriarch.
This news was spread very quickly.
Among them everyone was sobbed, stirred up and talked:
Among them, only the Spiritual Viscer is intelligent, learned more and more talented than anyone, surely the Venerable was also empowered.
But Venerable Than Tu did not dare to believe that he would be lucky, so he did not dare to offer his verse directly to O To. The Venerable waited at a quiet night, all of them slept, then took the appropriate light to come to a verse on the east wall of the corridor and did not dare to sign it. Venerable Than Tu thought: "If thanks to elaborately practicing for a long time, this verse is gaining the attention of the Patriarch, then this is a great blessing for us. Then we will worship, otherwise we will silence like no one knows. "

This morning, the monks saw the poem appearing on the wall of the lang, everyone admired:
-This is it! If you are not the Venerable Than Tu, then who else! Listening to them, they praise and cry together to see the verse, Mr. Hue Nangcong from the first to follow them. After watching the verse, HE Hui Nang said: - Still standing outside the fence.
He said so, pouting contemptuously:
- Ignorant ignorant of such a word, that dare to blame is still standing outside the fence!
Mr. Hui Neng calmly said:
-I also have a verse, Please write on the wall for me, because I am not literate.
One person wrote happily for him. Hui Neng read the following verse:
Original:

Translate:

The mind is not a mirror

After listening to the verse, everyone was surprised: Didn't expect such an ignorant person to make such an excellent poem?
The Patriarch found in them a stirring discussion, wanting to disperse the excess that could be dangerous for Hui Neng, so told in them to read the verse of Venerable Than Tu, but to ignore Hue's verse.
One afternoon, Sleeping Ancestor came down to the huts alone, came to Hue Hui to pound the rice and asked:
- Is the rice white? (secretly asked: Were you enlightened?)
Mr. Hui Nang responded:
-Bach To, the fake rice is white and lacks ready people.
Ngu To heard, took a stick and knocked three times on the oil of the pestle and went up. He received the seal of the Patriarch's Nest and gave him the bowls of medicine on the sixth day, and taught him to go to the south that very night, to propagate the dharma.
From then on, the Sixth Patriarch Hui Neng propagated the Dharma in the South, and Than Tu passed the Dharma in the North. In the North, the policy was about Tu tu shop, so it was called "South of the shop, North of shop" or "Nam Nang Bac Tu".
The following is a map of the six religious manifestations in China:
Preliminary: Mr. Bodhi Bodhidharma
Second: HE Hue-Fire (Than Quang)
Three ancestors: Mr. Tang-San
Quartet: HE Dao Tin
Five ancestors: Mr. Hoang Rings
The Ox Head Zen Master
Sixth Patriarch: Mr. Hui Nang
Mr. Spirit Tu.
From then on, he rummaged on Hui Neng, no longer had the tradition of passing the medicine on, and the organizations no longer had a seal for any one. Therefore in Zen Zen Buddhism is no longer the only tradition, but is divided into the following two sects and lines:
Two Sects And The Five Lines Of Meditation
Hui Hui, from the time he ascended to the continent, gave teachings to many disciples. Among the disciples, the most famous is Mr. Hoai Nhuong in the south of the music and Mr. Hanh Tu in Thanh Nguyen (according to the Fa Bao Dan Kinh). These two men are the prelude to the two sects of Zen Buddhism, the Southern sect and the Thanh Nguyen sect.
Male music later divided into two lines: Lam Te and Quy ngong.
The Phai Thanh Nguyen was divided into three lines: Tao Dong, Van Mon and Phap Nhan.
Following is the scheme of the two sects and the five Zen lineages in China.
I. -Hai Hoai Nhuong (In the South)
1.-Forestry
2.-Rules
II.-HE Hành Hành (In Thanh Nguyên) 3.-Cao Tống
4.-Vân Môn
5.-Dharma Method
1.-Linji Lin
a) The lineage of the Linji lineage, as follows:
-Out of the Zen Master
-The Most Zen Master Zen (surname Ma, colloquially known as Mat To)
-Bach Trượng Zen (Hoài Hải)
-Huyễn Nghạn Zen Master (Hỳ Vân) - Lâm Tử Nghĩa Hùyen.
b.-The transmission of (meditation muscle) of Lam Te religion:
As we mentioned at the beginning of this booklet, the teachings of Zen Zen are hard to understand, hungry for ordinary people. For example, in the Sanskrit sect, the dharma transmission only uses the scepter to beat and to grow up, which makes the meditator attain enlightenment. This way of enlightenment originated from the Master of Zen Buddhism:
in order to pray for enlightenment, one day, Lam Lin asked Huynh Nghiet:
-Why is it called the great Buddha Dharma?
Mr. Huynh Nghiet immediately took a walking stick (stick or cane) to beat him to Sacrifice. Three times he asked the Sacrifice, three times to be like that.
Lam Lam muddled confused, did not understand what the meaning was, so he went to study with him, Mr. Ngu Ngu Zen master, so that Lam Te môoôo was honored by the guidance of Mr. Huỳnh Nghiệt.
From then on, the Lineage lineage whenever he enlightened his disciples, used the method of beating and shouting.
He said: "Sometimes shouting like a diamond king's sword, sometimes screaming like a lion stomping, sometimes shouting like a tree in the grass, sometimes shouting, not starting use of screams ". Therefore, people call it" Lam Te Tu listed "
(four Shouts of Forestry).
The Lineage Lineage later divided into two branches: Duong Ky and Huynh Long. From the Song dynasty onwards, the Lineage Lineage was very popular. To this day about Zen Buddhism in the Great Dang Lam, most of the lineage.
2.-The Normative Order
The Patriarch Bach Trach passed on to Mr. Linh Huu Zen at Quy Son Mountain in Dam Chau. His Excellency Spirit gave Him the Threshold of Hue President.
The Throne Master was a enlightened Zen master, his miracle no one could have foreseen. His influence is great, so people take his name to name a whole line of Zen Buddhism. His evangelization is also very strange. Once someone came to ask for advice, the Threshold Master only painted the appearance of a buffalo, or painted a figure, a Buddha or a swastika.
3.-Dynamic Movement:
The transmission of this religion, in the following order:
Mr. Thanh Nguyen Zen Master
His Holiness the Great Monk, the Venerable Thach Dau Venerable
Mr. Duoc Son Zen Master
Mr. Yunyan Zen Master
Mr. Luong Gioi Zen Master at Dong Son Mountain
His Venerable Zen Master at Tao Son Mountain
Mr. Van Nham Zen Master used the method of Buu tam samui, which was passed to Luong Gioi (Dong Son); He also used this precepts to transmit to Buu Tich (Cao Son).
4.- The Vân-Môn stream:
The transmission of this religion, in the following order:
a) .Tai Thach-Dau Zen Master
b) .Thien Thien-Hoang.
c). Long-Đàm.
d). Duc Duc-paint.
d) .Tai Tuyet-phong.
e) .Van Van-Uyen Meditation master in Zen-Chau, Van-Mon.
The propagation method of Mr. Vân-Uyên (Vân-keeper) is also very strange, few people understand the meaning: who comes to ask for the religion, then he only says one word "Dare". If the hesitant people don't understand, he adds the word "Di". Because he only answered such a word for the religious people, so people call his customary shop "Nhut autonomy" (Observing the logic in a word Dare or Di).
5.- French-label line:
The transmission of this religion, in the following order:
a). Mr. Tuyet-phong Zen-master.
b). Mr. Huyen-sang Zen-master.
c). Mr. Xa-Han Zen-master.
d). Mr. Van-ich Zen-master.
The method of enlightenment for those who come to the guidance of Mr. Van-ich Zen-master is exactly the following six generals in the Sūtra-Nghiem:
- General: That is to say feet-like mind.
- Prime Minister: Ie the coast arising from feet-like mind.
- General: The methods are the same.
- General minister: Depending on each minister is not equal.
- General: Setting up a scene-world.
- Prime Minister: The position is not synonymous with Prime Minister.
Zen Buddhism in Vietnam
As we all know, Vietnamese Buddhism is deeply influenced by Chinese Buddhism. Therefore, if in China Zen Buddhism is popularly popularized, in Vietnam Zen Buddhism is also considered as a major sect of Buddhism. It is also a matter of course, nothing is difficult to understand.
Buddhism was introduced into Vietnam in the second century AD, by Indian and Chinese monks, such as Ma-Ha-Ha-ConVang, and Mr. Khuong-Tang-Hoi (Indian), Mr. Mâu-Bác (Chinese). In this ancient time, we could not know which sects they belonged to, and transmitted what Vietnamese teachings to Vietnam. But we can be sure that it is not a Zen religion. because Zen Buddhism in Vietnam is from Trung Hoat Tuyen. Meditation in Trung Hoathì had to wait until the beginning of the 6th century, during the reign of Luong-Vo-De (528), the Bo-De-Dat-Ma group was added. then definitely Zen religion in Vietnam can only appear at the end of the 6th century CE. This conjecture has been proved by the history of mission in Vietnam. In 580 (at the end of the 6th century), Bhikkhu-Many-Da-Luu-Chi, the first lane, passed the Zen Buddhism into Vietnam, and the ancestor of Vietnamese Zen Buddhism. after Bhikkhu-Many-Luu-chi also had many other famous monks to bring Zen Buddhism into Vietnam, and thus, Vietnam also had many Zen religious sects as in China. A special and proud thing for Vietnamese Buddhists is that in addition to the Zen religious traditions in China, even in our country, there is also a Zen religion founded by a king, that is Truc Lam. the ancestor is King Trần Nhân T @ ´n.
Here, we talk about the Zen religion in sequence.
1.-Phai Pi-Many-Da-Luu-Chi;
a) The Patriarch of Zen Buddhism in Vietnam.
Bhikkhu-Ni-Da-Luu-Chi, Indians are his disciples Increase-Xan (Tam to Zen religious).
The first time he met the Sangan group at Tu Khong mountain, he saw the unusual appearance of the monk, Mr. Pi-Ni-Da-Luu-Chi, showing respect and applauding his hands. He bowed down three times and his father still sat and sat down for a few hours, not saying anything (meditation). He stood still and thought for a while, suddenly saw in other people, like what was enlightened. He immediately bowed down and prostrated three times. I just nodded three times. After that first meeting, he became one of the best disciples of the Sangha.
Later, the Patriarch taught him to the south to propagate, he obeyed orders to go to Vietnam at the end of the 6th century, staying at Phap Van Pagoda in Ha Dong Province.
When he was about to pass away, he called his disciple Phap Hien to enter the room to wish that:
"The Buddha's initiation cannot be ambiguous. The fullness of mind is like nothingness, no shortage, no arrival, no loss, no loss, no crowds, no difference, no irregularities. no paragraph, no birth nor kill not far away nor far away. Just because for expectations should fake that name (Initiation) only. "
Buddhas of the three generations therefore (mind-India) that are direct. Therefore, the great master calendar was also enlightened. I am the same, and you are the same, until all the sentient beings are the same.
When the Third Patriarch increased the seal of "mind-seal" for us, he said, "You should go to the South to preach, do not stay here."
Therefore, we went through many places to come here. We now meet him, just like the legend says. So you should remember my words carefully.
Now is the time for me to go! ”
After teaching, the Patriarch Ni-Da-Luu-Chi joined his hands and sat quietly and passed away. Ðệ-death tea-Pi (burned) and collect relics, build towers to worship.
Later, King Ly-Thai-Ton had a verse chasing him as follows:
Original:
In the morning of crossing South Korea
Literature cui meditation
Ying declares Buddhist faith
Far uniting the mind
Hao-old men Hao Hao
Bat-elegant manure
Ha happy time relative
Voice data is similar.
Translate:
Open the way through the Vietnamese
Listen to him through meditation
Concentric sources one circuit
The Buddha realm is wide around the region
Lang-old moon shadow shine
Bat-elegant cracked lotus
Know when to meet
Dam-director probably dark-legendary.
b). His Holiness Phap-Zen Master, the second Patriarch of Zen Buddhism in Vietnam:
After the death of the Bhikkhuni Ni-Da-Luu-Chi, the Dharma-manifester was the second Patriarch of the Zen-religious sects of Ni-Da-Luu-Chi. The last name is Đò, hometown in Chu-Dien District (Son Tay now). When he came to Phap-Van Pagoda, Patriarch Ni-Da-Luu-Chi saw him, then looked closely at his face and asked:
- What uncle?
The Pharisees asked again:
- What kind of god are they?
The team asked:
-You don't have a last name?
He answered:
-Why not! But the Venerable Master knows?
Covering up:
-Known for what?
Phap-Show suddenly realized the idea of Bhikkhuni Ni-Da-Luu-Chi (meditation) and bowed down, bowed to him as a disciple, and after that he received the mind-seal.
A little while after President, he entered Tu-Son mountain to meditate and meditate, animals often wrap tangerines around. People find it even more strange and admirable. Ðe-tu came to learn the religion very crowded. Meditation during this period can be said to be the best. It was also thanks to the preaching merit of Bhikkhuni Ni-Da-Luu-Chi and His Phap-show. Later in the law, there were many excellent meditation masters such as the Dharma-cons, Van-Hanh, etc.
2.- The Vo-Vo-Thong School:
a). The Monk of the Second Dharma Meditation in Vietnam:
His family name Tinh, from Guangzhou-renunciate, ordained at Song-Lam pagoda (Triet-giang now). His temper is calm and quiet, but his reasoning is well understood, so people call him Vo Ngon Thong. He is a disciple of the Bach Truong Zen master (a disciple of Mat To).
When he first came to see the Zen Master, he met the teacher who was teaching them to increase their studies. A monk asked Bach Tring meditation:
What is the disciplined path of the Mahayana school?
The Master of Zen Master taught,
-General weak pine, self-illuminating Japanese lily (if the mind is cleared, the natural Hue sun shines).
Hearing that sentence, he naturally Vo Dao Thong enlightenment. In 820, he went to Vietnam and practiced at Kien So pagoda, Phu Dong village (Bac Ninh). He sat face to face with walls and went into meditation. He cultivated like that for a few years no one knew, except for the monk at that temple, Mr. Chan Thanh Zen, who knew that he was a high monk in Zen Buddhism, so he worshiped him as a teacher.
Before calling out to the Zen Master, he said:
-In the past, the ancestor of Nam Nhac, when he was about to die, told the poem that:
The best of the dharma, the mind of life
Infinite mind birth, France no residence
The downfall reaches the mind, the ominous residence
Non-standard treatment, kidney promised material.
Means: All the legal waste, are self-born; mind if not born, France does not reside. If you understand the problem, then there is no problem in doing so.
"That is the advice of the ancients now I also repeat that sentence".
After saying, he folded his hands and passed away.
b) The Second Patriarch of Vo Ngon Thong sect:
Sympathy for Zen: Zen master in Tien Du district (Bac Ninh) is head of Kien Son pagoda (Bac Ninh).
When Vo Ngon Thong Thong still traveled there, seeing that he was qualified to spread the word, he should stay. And His Holiness also realized that in His Vo Ngon Thong a Zen master attained enlightenment, should be revered as a teacher, early in the evening so that he would not be late. The two teachers and students were very fond of each other, so it was only because he spoke of the signal that he truly deserves to be his spokesperson. One day a disciple asked him:
-How is Buddha?
He answered:
- Every place is Buddha.
The disciple asked again:
-What is the mind of Buddha?
He answered:
-No hiding anything.
This is also a small story, but it speaks of the special transmission of the mind of dharma, albeit simplified, but contains many extremely significant meanings.
His Holiness was not ill but passed away, and passed the Dharma transmission to Thien Zen Zen masters.
c) The three patriarchs of Vo Ngon Thong sect:
Mr. Thien Thien Zen master: Mr. Thien Hoi is from Super Type (Bac Ninh). He was a disciple of Cam Thanh Zen master, so that for more than 10 years, one day he came into the room to ask him:
In the Buddhist scriptures, it is taught: "Shakyamuni Buddha once practiced countless lifetimes into a Buddha, but now he continues to teach that" mind means Buddha, Buddha means mind "? Really the disciple does not understand please teach him clearly.
Dr. Cheng said:
-You say who says that in the Buddhist scriptures?
-So those words are not Buddhist theory?
-What's the word for that Buddha? Buddhist scriptures Manjusha taught: "I stay in the world to teach sentient beings 49 years, have not put up a sentence in writing to tell anyone ever!" Because according to the right path, if we take the scriptures as evidence. to pray, that is the sow; taking the asceticism to pray to Buddha, that is delusion; leaving the mind and praying to Buddha, that is the pagan; but persistent that mind is Buddha, also a ghost again.
-If the mind is said to be Buddha, what is the mind in that Buddha, what is not Buddha?
-During the day someone asked the ancestor, "If that mind is Buddha, then what is Buddha in that mind?" Just show it to me! ” he can't just. Ma To continued: "Achieving everywhere, everywhere is a Buddha, if not achieved, then go on and on forever". So just a word that it concealed, it turned out to be that mistake. Do people understand?
Mr. Thien Hoi replied:
-If so, the disciple understands.
-How do you understand?
-The disciple understands that everywhere, every place is also the mind of Buddha.
After saying Thien Hoi Zen master soup down to bow. Mr.Thanh said:
-That's where you understand it.
Due to the promptness of that assembly, Mr. Thanh Thanh ma gave his disciple the name of Thien Hoi, which means "skillful understanding".
Above are some of the miserable stories that we often see among the Zen people.
The Dharma transmission from teacher to student in Vo Ngon Thong sect has been like that for 15 generations. Up to wholesale life Ung Thuan (1221) is the last.
3.- Phai Thao Duong:
Year of the rooster (1069) King Ly Thanh Ton went to fight Chiem Thanh, captured the king of that country, Che Old and many civilians and soldiers. These soldiers and civilians were distributed to the officials in the royal court as ministers. Among the officials was a monk. One day he was away from home and found his "Table of Contents" was a milk prisoner yet. When asked, I realized that it was a Chinese Zen teacher who had followed Chiêm Thành and was unfortunately taken prisoner. The Zen master was Mr. Thao Duong, a disciple of Mr. Tuyet Dau Giac Minh in China.
When knowing the whereabouts of Thao Duong Zen master, King Thanh Ton immediately ordained him to be a national teacher. Mr. Thao Duong founded the Forum at Khai Quoc Pagoda in Thang Long citadel. Practitioners to study very crowded. Mr. Thao Duong founded a third Zen school in Vietnam. The Path of the Paths has been passed down for five generations.
4.- Phai Truc Lam:
The first of the Truc Lam sects was King Tran Nhan Ton (1278-1308). He was religious when he was young. When he was 16 years old, he became a Crown Prince. He tried to leave it to me but could not, so he climbed into a hideout and planned to become a monk at Yen Tu Mountain. But when he got halfway there, he leaked out, and was arrested and sent home by his father. He must be reluctant to return. After he became king, he became a brother and maintained the independence of the country against the massive, but ineffective, invasion of the Yuan army. After chasing the enemy, he passed on the throne to his son Anh Ton, and entered the monastery at Yen Tu Mountain, fulfilling his childhood aspirations. He took the title "Huong Van Dai Ðà Ðà Ðà", took a stance of teaching, and disciples came to study, including tens of thousands of people. He often went around to preach and give medicine. He calmly passed away at age 51.
Among Zen Buddhism sects in Vietnam, only Truc Lam sect is developed in Vietnam. In this school, there are also many famous Zen masters such as Phap Loa the Guru, Huyen Quang, etc.
5.- Lam Te School:
Lam Te School was founded by Mr. Nguyen Thieu in Central Vietnam. The surname Ta, from Guangzhou (China). He followed a merchant ship to An Nam, staying in Qui Ninh (Binh Dinh), set up Thap Thap Di Da pagoda, opened a school to teach. After that, he went out to conquer Ha Trung pagoda, then went to Xuan Kinh (Hue) to establish Quoc An pagoda and erected Pho Dong tower.
After that, he served Duc Anh Ton (Nguyen Phuc Trang 1687-1691) and returned to China, inviting monks and statues and statues. He came back to Quang Dong to invite Venerable Thach Liem and other monks, together with many classics, statues, statues and spiritual objects to return to the South. I wish Nguyen immediately opened the instrument very solemnly at Thien Mu Pagoda. After that, Lord Nguyen bestowed him on the position of abbot of Ha Trung Pagoda.
In the 10th Bao Thai Dynasty, he died at Ha Trung pagoda, after instructing his disciple and transmitting the following stanza:
President, invisible glass
Minh minh, Chau bowl bowl
Way, non-animal
Liu Bei, no animals
General idea: The pure Dharma body is as clear and clear as a mirror of dust and dust, like pearls of pearls, in a shining light. Although the current events, things are different, but are the legal body manifest. The dharmakaya body is often silent, which is not zero, which means the "righteous magic vacuum".
Considering in the "Calendar of the patriarchal tradition", he stood on the 69th generation, about the orthodox Lam Te sect, He stood on the 33rd, and separately considered the Lam Te sect in Central Vietnam, he was the primary.
6.- Phai Lieu Quan:
The Lieutenant-Store originated from Liễu-Quán-Hòa-Thượng. Mr. Liễu-consistent home in Phú-Yên (Song-Cầu). He went to Thuan Hoa to take Sang-Di ordination with Thach-Liem-Hoa-Thuong. In 1702, he went to Long-Son to learn the method of taking meditation with Mr. Tu-Dung Hoa-Thuong.
To Tu-Dung taught him to take care of the sentence: "All things are the best, the best rules of the land", (like all things on one, one on the law?). He consulted for a few years, until he saw the Ministry of Communications-Dang-Luc, saw that there is a saying: "Only the material transmitting the mind, as any meeting of the land". He immediately enlightened. In 1742, at the end of the autumn season, he was sick. Before he died, he called his disciples to teach, "The grace is over, I'm going to die."
Seeing his disciples crying, he taught him: "What do you weep for? the Buddha was born and entered into nirvana. We now go to clear, have a place. You should not cry and do not be sad. ”
Then he wrote the following farewell poem:
Original:
Losing the middle-aged teenager middle-world
No no, great colors and colors
Kim Trieu menopause, complete treatment
Ha all know three questions.
Translate:
In addition to seventy years in the world
No no, the color is all informed
Today contentment about the old place
Hà must consider and ask his ancestors.
When he finished writing, he told his disciples:
After I go, you must think of the impermanence quickly, need to study diligently. Do your best to come and not ignore my words.
He passed away on November 22, Nham-Tuat (1742) at the time of the Goat, after having finished tea and happily said goodbye to his disciples.
Here we should also make this point clear: As I said in the previous paragraph, the Thien-Ton, founded by the Vietnamese people, has only one faction, founded by King Tran-Nhan-Ton, who is the Truc-den sect. Lam Yen-Tu. But so far, we see that one more branch is the Lieu-Quan faction, led by Mr. Lieu-Quan, a famous Vietnamese tanker, so does it contradict the above comment? In fact, compared with other Zen-Ton sects in Vietnam, the Lieu-Quan sect is only a small faction, only within some provinces of Central-Vietnam.
Besides, Mr. Lieu-Quan is also a disciple of Mr. Tu-Dung, a Chinese monk from Lin-Te school. Therefore, the Liao-dynasty, if we go to the source of the corner a little further, it is only a branch of the Lam-sect sect.

C.- Summary of Types of Meditation
There are many types of Meditation-Meditation, but it can be divided into two broad categories: Right concentration and wrong concentration, or Phàm-phu meditation and Saint-nhàn meditation and Buddhism meditation.
Foreign Dao Meditation
Those who follow this meditation-style are motivated by non-righteous thoughts (disturbing emotions, greed, hatred, ignorance, etc.). They do not aim at eradicating disturbing ignorance, praying for enlightenment, or enlightenment, liberation, but only for narrow, short-sightedness, like praying for miracles. miraculously, praying to be transformed by the god to go on a promenade in other worlds, praying to be lost in the fairyland, praying for the body not being sick, being immortal, allowed miracles to cure diseases, to lower the devotion-worship, to respect, or to be close to the beauty, or to seek financial benefits etc.
Listen to what Ton Ton-Mat taught: "The wrong view is attached to wrong views, above, bored with the lower realms of meditation, which is the pagan meditation."
Zen Meditation
Practitioners who follow this type of meditation do not have a noble mind, just because they are tired of the defilement of the Greed realm, and that form the rupa and non-rupa to enjoy the pleasures of serenity.
Listen to the Ton-Matriarch criticize cultivators for this type of meditation: "The person who is bored with believing in results, but who loves the realms of the lower realms, cultivates meditation, is divine-phu meditate."
Buddhist meditation
There are two types of meditation in Buddhism: Theravada and Mahayana meditation.
-The Hinayana-meditation: are the meditation methods for people with Tanh Hinayana nature. People who practice this Meditation practice only have limited use, because any practice can only eliminate the defilements of that dharma. And the cultivation here is only sequentially advanced, but can not get-nagy enlightenment.
Moreover, the practice of Hinayana meditation, although it has broken-down, but also has legal accept. They are not enlightened that: the methods of austerities are means to help them to eliminate ignorance of ignorance, to go to enlightenment, and not to be persistent, so cultivated.
- Mahayana meditation: This is the method of meditation practice of the Bodhisattvas, the quick nature and transcendance. With this class, you just hear a sentence or just practice a law, can also immediately enlightenment; like Mr. Hue-Nang, only hear the phrase "Ung's headless, born to his mind," or Mr. Ca-Lettuce, only see the Buddha giving a lotus flower and immediately realize it
The reason for these people to show such enlightenment is because they have gone through many lifetimes and are about to be enlightened. , just waiting for the weather to bloom.
Listen to the Ton-Mat group about these people: "The enlightened one is a self, the dharma does not practice meditation, which is Mahayana meditation. The self-enlightened person self-immolation in this ancient capital, which is pure, no negativity-brain, full of non-smuggled wisdom, that mind is Buddha, ultimately no different. Y according to this new meditation practice that is the Supreme-Vehicle excess, also known as Chon-like tam-soot ".
About the method of cultivation and transmission of Mahayana meditation has three ways:
- The first way: These are the types of tam-soot-cheeks based on the sūtras of Mahayana cultivation, such as Dharma-flower tam-soot, recitation-Buddha tam-soot, Gac-idea tam-soot, Thu-increase-integrity-tam-soot etc.
- The second way: This style of meditation is not based on scriptures and texts, but only uses a short sentence to refer to the teacher. In Buddhism, this style of meditation is called: "Regardless of the texts, the different teachings are passed on" (no written, non-Buddhist texts). Meditation-fake based on just one statement that research until enlightenment. This work of consultation and meditation has sometimes lasted for decades.
- The third way: With this way, we can hardly think anything discussed. In this way, when someone comes to pray for the Dharma, the Founding Fathers do not use words but only use a gesture or a shout.
Like the Lam-Te line, when someone came to pray, the Zen master only used sticks and screams.
Like the Quy-threshold line, the Patriarchs only drew animal shapes, human figures, and swastika shapes for enlightenment to disciples.
Like the Van-Mon lineage, a Patriarch spoke only one word, which made the prayers enlightened.
As if he only offered tea (Mr. Zhao-chau) or invited to eat, that people came to the church to be enlightened.
There he watched his wedding again and laughed, when he walked across the bridge, immediately enlightenment (tigers show the golden spirit), or hear the birds singing on the willows, or beat the ground with sticks to melt. enlightenment.
It is a miraculous meditation, so it is impossible for outsiders to think and discuss.
In order for the person to lead the way to results, the dharma transmitters must meet the following three conditions:
-Knowledge-muscle people guide.
-Know the weather at the right time.
-Know which method is suitable, among the three methods mentioned above, if spreading unreasonable, timely, and legal methods, cultivators will have no result.
Before we stop writing, we have the following remarks that readers also agree: Our country is now a country heavily influenced by Zen, and Zen-religion is a very popular sect. domestic. Yet today, because of the transformation of history, Zen-ton is no longer transmitted in temples as well as in the people in a congenial way.
So we hope that, from here on out, thanks to the convenient transportation from one country to another, through cultural exchanges, and by the spiritual training of Vietnamese Buddhists, Meditation -ton will regain the nuance of sung-trade in Vietnam like the Ly and Tran dynasties.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.27/1/2020.
