Pratyekabuddhas and Bodhisattvas of Buddhism
Lesson 6 (continued)
The second level: Tri About the Paramita.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.

A. Open Topic
Regardless of a group, any organization in society, if they want to be organized, have a way to progress, they must have knowledge or precepts. The tighter the discipline, the faster the life of the organization, as well as the individual in it, will progress. On the contrary, an undisciplined group is a mob of people, no matter how large and powerful at first, it will soon vanish.
Discipline is always set by the leaders. The more insightful a leader is, the more experience he has, the more rules and the precepts they create, the more practical and valuable they are.
Buddhism is a religion that aims to bring people to enlightenment, and the founder is Shakyamuni, a fully enlightened being. So the precepts, the teachings of Buddhism, of course, must have a valuable, valuable and useful use for those who want to follow in the footsteps of the Buddha.
Because of the importance and great benefits of such a precepts, Buddha repeatedly reminded his disciples, must strictly observe the precepts. He often taught: "Meet the time without Buddha, take the precepts as a teacher". Kinh Pham hammock also wrote: "The world is as bright as the moon, precious as the pearl of pearls, the Bodhisattvas are maintained by the pure precepts and become Right Understanding".
B. Right Concise
I. Definitions
"Tri" is to keep the precepts closely; "Precepts" are the precepts, prohibitions, the rules that Buddha has devised to guide His disciples into the main path, and to avoid giving them deep pitfalls that they may fall into. , on the way to Buddhahood.
Preserving the precepts is a practice to reach enlightenment by upholding the complete and complete precepts that Buddha taught.
II. Composition Of The Precepts
The basis of sentient beings is not the same, and the Buddhist disciple's practice also has many ways; Therefore, the Buddha had to devise a lot of precepts and divide many types to apply them closely to the basis and practice of each class of people. However, we can divide Buddha's precepts into three parts and two levels:
About home for Theravada goods.
About renunciation
The Paths and the Way of practice (Bodhisattva Precepts) for Mahayana goods.
1. About at home. The lay precepts are the precepts for those who have not ordained in the Hinayana row, i.e. the male servants and the female servants (laymen). These people may take one to five precepts (the Five Precepts) or eight precepts (the eight precepts).
2. About renunciation. The renunciation consists of five of them: novice monks, novice monks, bhikkhunis, bhikkhus and bhikkhunis. They depend on how low or high austerities are, whether men or women hold precepts more or less:
Novice and novice have to keep 10 precepts
The formula to remove manna must keep the 6 precepts and practice 296 morality.
Monks must keep 250 precepts
Monks and nuns must keep 348 precepts.
3. About customs clearance. The secular practice is the Bodhisattva precepts. This is the world that Buddhists at home and ordained in the Mahayana life must maintain, after having generated the Bodhisattva's mind to cultivate the surface of Buddhism and transform the sentient beings.
The scope of this article only talks about the Mahayana Bodhisattva vow, and here are the precepts that the cultivators of the three perfections should know and keep right.
Bodhisattva world includes:
Gender law photographer. The person who upholds the "Vajrayana rule of law" is the one who decides to keep the twelve precepts and the forty-eight precepts for contempt, which means that he will not do any evil deeds.
France good France. Life maintenance "photographer good world" is someone determined to do all the good deeds.
Many useful worldly. The person who maintains this precepts is one who is determined to cultivate compassion and joy, to do all that is beneficial to all sentient beings, not a single species but without any chemical degree.
II. How Must Be Presented About Righteous Dharma
Just as the practice of generosity says in the previous article; maintenance of the three precepts also has two ways: Preserving the wrong Dharma and maintaining the Precepts of the Dharma, or saying according to the Buddhist words: Maintaining the general view of the Dharma and maintaining the precepts for not accepting the general.
1. Preserving about the general. Preserving the doctrine of attachment is the observance of the precepts but only the appearance, but the inner is very polluted. For example, maintain the precepts for eager to win the praise of the people; maintain the precepts with an egotistical, self-centered mentality, and contempt for ordinary people; maintenance of the world because of forced, should lack the wedding Festival that birth mind sadness, reluctance ... Such world is lack of sincerity, is false, deceive himself and people. Such a world is of no use, only takes more time and is not the precepts of the Paramita.
2. World Tri not accept generals. The world of non-attachment is to strictly follow the precepts that the Buddha has taught, not for fame and gain, not for victory, nor for forced circumstances to do.
While observing the precepts, practitioners do not think that they are better than people, nor do they abide by the rules and disdain for transgressors. Practitioners just because of the virtue which is not pre-infected, which benefits all sentient beings and recognizes the "observance of precepts" is an obligation that cannot be ignored. Maintaining the world like that is the precepts of the Paramita, the virtue will be boundless.
IV. Virtue Tri Ba La Mat
As mentioned above, maintaining the precepts of Paramita has a great effect on the practice of Buddhists. Buddhists maintain the precepts of pure solemnity, when the present time the mind is relaxed, there is nothing to regret. For the country, practitioners are respectful, especially for the believers, who are always happy and precious. In the future life, action will definitely be the result of Bodhi, escaping the cycle of birth and death.
If we compare the practice of generosity with the moral precepts, we will see that the morality is more than one level.
A Buddhist with talent, dharma, who does not have the precepts, cannot become a Buddha, because he has both created merit and also sinned, because he does not maintain the precepts, so he causes good and bad karma to mix. to be perfect but to witness to the fruit?
On the contrary, Buddhists, if they just take seriously the precepts, they will surely become Buddhas. Why? Because in the time of observing the precepts, there is already a gift and the method of giving the mandate:
When practitioners maintain the precepts are pure, the mind of compassion, joy and discharge all over. Whenever they see anyone doing alms, France for whom, the instant birth being happy to agree to merit, so that means he gets a part of merit "depending on alms giving".
Moreover, when the practitioner is sincere in his observance of the precepts, he practices in accordance with the Buddha's teaching and sets an example for imitators, that is, he has given the dharma to his body. Also when the practitioner recites the precepts for proficiency, that is, the method of oral discourse.
Seeing so, the precepts of the Brahmin precepts are a miraculous method of dharma, which can include alms and maintenance, which will surely bring practitioners to the shore of liberation.
C. Conclusion
The value and function of the precepts of the Paramita has been clearly demonstrated, we have no doubt about it. Now we have a definitive decision to develop a strong mind for the maintenance of the Paramita.
The practice only remains in practice. No matter where intelligent intelligence, though deep understanding of the doctrine to the pain, without practice, it is useless. We should not forget that the word "practice" usually follows the words "learn" and the word "tu" (study, practice). Dao Nho also has the saying: "learn children learning time spent". Buddhism is taught more strongly: “cultivating without learning is blind cultivation; Studying without practicing is a good book ”. Especially when having brought the Buddhist name, took the precepts but did not keep the precepts, then it is like bringing the Buddha's precepts and defaming and making fun of the world.
So we would like to recommend that Buddhists, after having realized the noble values and great benefits of the Dharma Precepts disciplines, hurry up and give this vast mind to cultivate this precepts, to quickly escape the cycle of birth. death of suffering. END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.21/1/2020.
