EXHIBITION TABLE AND CONTENT.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.

The topic we will present to the monks and nuns today is the  bandits and continents . Often people in the world have something to be angry about, or say, "rampage on the pirate". So what is a hacker? Hackers are bandits, enemies. In Buddhist scriptures always teach, each of us has six bases, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind. Those six apartments, if deluded, were drawn to six ceilings, then the six bases turned into bandits. And if we are smart, cleverly removed, not to contaminate the six ceiling, then the six bases become continental.
So our eyes, ears, nose, tongue ... are the hackers, but also the continents. Only one side does not know how to cultivate to get infected, and one party knows how to remove and not get infected. As our eyes see something beautiful immediately admiring praise and then give birth to the preferred mind. That is called stick, is infected. So the eye is a enemy. Because of being infected with the ceiling, it destroyed his merit, so called it the enemy, the bandit. The position that tu see beautiful people, beautiful objects, beautiful flowers immediately pay attention, praise, is a guide led away.
Next to the ear, listen to compliments and criticisms. Listening to the compliment in our hearts is joyful, being criticized for our afflictions, it is the second enemy. Because gladness is fondness, affliction is sick so it robs us of our merit.
So is the nostril. When we go through fragrant flowers, sweet smells, we like it, and through the smelly places we don't like it. So the nostrils ruined our merit. It was the third enemy.
To our tongue. When the delicacies we like, eat the dish we are upset. Like delicious food without eating, hate bad food but get eaten nagged. So the tongue likes to taste good, it's boring, the fourth enemy.
Thursday is touching. Emotion of what is smooth, we have a feeling of pleasure, touching what is rough and unpleasant, we hate. Those touches make us so passionate, enamored or unpleasant to hate, so it is the fifth enemy.
The sixth child is the idea. We are exposed to this naked ceiling, a little secretly. When we remember the image of the person who sabotages us, it is frustrating, remembering the image of the person who loves me immediately. It was the sixth enemy.
Let's honestly consider whether the six houses are six enemies? If so, do we still have merit or merit? Raising these six devastating enemies, our merits dissipate. So we cultivate, we have to do so so that we don't let the six bases become infected with six ceilings. It was to chase the six goodies known as the hackers, otherwise they would ruin our merits. Each of you check yourself to try to cultivate yourself.
I lead an image that everyone can see, easy to remember. When we enter the temple, we often see a stout Bodhisattva, grinning. It is Bo-slapped Maitreya. There are Bodhisattva statues sitting with six children, the child hooked the eye, the child pricked the ear hole, the nose nostrils, the child popped into the mouth etc ... The six children poked like that but Bo-slapped still smiled, not frustrated, no Any trouble. Those six children represent the pirate. Even though they were mischievous, he was still at ease. The six enemies, namely eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind, but were harassed but Bo-slapped still smiling, proving that He had won the hackers. Contemplating His image we must follow His example. A Bodhisattva is always free, not sad and frustrated. So the rogue for Him has become a continent.
We must cultivate how to convert the pirate into the continent to be the winner. If the bandit is disturbed, then the person who lost the battle. In the Sutra, the Buddhas tell the story of a herd of monkeys going to eat. Monkey God ordered all monkey monkeys to accompany the herd, following the monkey monkeys to not spread. In it, there was a young monkey who saw the monkey monkey go first, and met the delicious monkey princess food to eat, so it separated the herd separately to make a living. When he saw the delicious bait, he used his front leg to grab it. It was unexpected that this was a hunter's trap that had put the plastic around, so it got stuck in the hand. Sticking this hand, it takes the other hand off, so it sticks too. Next to the back leg removed also stick, the remaining one leg is also sticky. Thus, all four legs were used and the tail was stuck. After all, he took his mouth, so he got stuck. Four legs, tail, mouth, all six things are sticky, runaway. The hunter came to pick up the basket.
Buddha borrowed this example to say the monks and nuns practiced the morals. But when you see Buddhists offering Venerable Monks, if you do not offer yourself, you feel sad because of the lack of poverty, so you want to go out to be more valued by people. Just like the monkey monkey in the herd, seeing the monkey monkey enjoy all the delicious food, so he disgruntled the piano. Because of lack of experience do not know where the bait people are trapped, where is the truth so what do you collect and stick your hands and feet to six bases, no longer struggling. So the hunter picked up the basket.
The Buddha tempted the bait to be six ceiling. One hand got stuck, all six parts were stuck. The hunter's plastic trap entices six units to stick with six ceilings. When the six bases stick with six ceiling, the hunter (for Ma Ma) took it anywhere. We cultivate if wise, like a monkey following a herd, there is a guardian. The monkey doesn't stick to traps, so he is free even though it's okay  to eat a little bit. If you want to eat well, you will be trapped very badly.
Thus, the six bases attached to the six ceilings are led by Maou. It tells us what we do, we all have to listen, we can't run. How many years did the monks and nuns remove some ceilings, and how many leftovers? If all is sticked out, consider it as surrender to Maou, and if one or two bases are stuck, the Maou has not dared to grab his neck. Understanding so we see important cultivation. Every day the eyes of the eyes, the ears of the ears, the nose of the incense, the mouth of the object, the opposing body, the mind of the naked mind are not stuck, that is, we liberate. If we are stuck, we will be led by Maou to recite in the cycle of reincarnation. So liberation is not attachment, attachment is not liberation.
As we just mentioned, the image of a monkey that has been stuck with plastic should lose freedom. If it is not sticky, it is free, it is continental. On the contrary, it is also attached to the hackers. Monks and nuns do not let the base stick with the six ceilings, we are free to liberate ourselves. Being infected, losing freedom is the root of cultivation.
I would like to tell more about the story of the Sixth Patriarch of Hu Nang with the Five Patriarchs of the Rings, the Five Patriarchs bring Kim Cang's sermon to preach to him. Kim Cang Sutra has two questions of the Venerable Tu-bodhi. The first question: "How does the person who plays the supreme mind of the righteous mind, how to overcome that mind?" The second question: "The person who plays the supreme mind of the righteous mind, how to rest is the mind? ”The mind rests on the mind, Luc To hear the sermon to the sentence" no matter the mind of the mind, whatever the pillar of the mind, the flavor, the taste, the Dharma of the mind, the mind of the unborn child, " immediately enlightened and blurted out: "I doubt my old nature is pure, I don't realize that my mind is not destroyed, etc." The Five Patriarch knew that he was enlightened, so he imparted the bowl and He became the sixth Patriarch.
So the Buddha taught that the mind is calm and peaceful, it should not be born in the mind of mind, mind, flavor, touch, and dhamma. The six units that are not stuck with the six ceiling are secure. There are many monks who either recite Buddha's name or meditate on the Buddha's seat but the mind keeps running. Run after the six ceiling, remember this person, remember the other thing, etc., the mind is in turmoil. If you know how to keep your mind from sticking to the six ceiling, then the mind rests. But the mind is calm and then proceeds to the supreme result. Therefore, we can see the meaning of enlightened Kim Cang business for Luc To.
Next, I lead the Shurangama Sutra. False religion A-nan asked Buddha:
- White World Religion, what is the basis of samsara, what is the basis of Bodhi Nirvana?
When he asked this question, the Buddha Thich-ca did not answer, the ten directions of the Buddha's Buddha said:
- Ananda, the root of the basic afflictions, samsara is his six bases. The root of Bodhi Nirvana is also his six bases.
Obviously not only the Buddha Like-ca said the six bases are the birth and death, the six bases are the Bodhi of Nirvana, but the ten directions of all Buddhas are "homogeneous". such.
Therefore, we must cultivate ourselves to stop all samsara and samsara, to attain Nirvana Bodhisattva. That is the root of cultivation. And if we are still troubled, still going in samsara, the practice does not work. So is the rice of the na-na. If you want to be effective, do not waste the rice of na-na believers, then you must know that the six bases are the root of samsara, don't let it stick, don't let it become infected. Maybe we are the true cultivators to liberate samsara.
Where did the six bases come from? It is available in us, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind in our body, not far away. Just don't let the infection get smart. If we eat austerity, chant a lot and chant a lot of things, then if someone moves to the pitch, something beautiful is preferred, will such a practice result? The eyes see the beauty of love and love, the sound of frustration in the abdomen sounds like that, it has not removed the sticky bases with the ceiling. If we cannot remove it, how can we liberate samsara, so on the way of cultivation, we must try our best, how to have a happy scene, a sad scene, etc. we are still free. That is true liberation. If there is only form, it is difficult to escape the six bases. The meaning of Buddha taught is very clear.
In Zen home there is this story. Siddhartha Says He belongs to the Quaternary System. During his consultation, he asked Zen Master Trung Ap - Hong An:
- Bach Hoa, what is the Buddha nature?
Mr. Trung Ap said:
- Like a monkey locked in a cage with six doors. Outside there was a monkey coming to the window a cross cross. Then came the second door and cried diagonally, the monkey inside stood up and cried over, so as to continue the six doors.
At that time, Ngiang Son said:
- What if the monkey inside it sleeps?
Mr. Trung Ap came down from the court and stood and said:
- We saw each other.
Through the story, what do we see? Often people think that Buddha nature is far away, hard to find, difficult to know. But the Zen Master said the monkey locked in the cage heard the monkey outside shouting back. So he likened the outside monkey to the ceiling, the monkey inside was the base. Outside, there is a ceiling, the stick is attached, the outside has a ceiling, the ear is sticky, meaning six bases, touching any base, it is attached. But when the inside was quiet, the outside came to poke him still silent, at that time Buddha made money and nothing else. So, when the monkey inside is sleeping, the outside does not stir it, because he has no contact. Also when our inner mind is quiet, the Buddha nature shows money, does not look far away. We cultivate because we want to become a Buddha, ie enlightenment. But enlightenment right in my heart,
Is it difficult or easy to cultivate? There is no remote. Understanding this meaning, we see that spiritual practice is not far away but very close, right in front of our eyes, ourselves. However, the words of Buddha, the group taught, sounded very close, but touching the truth, we forgot to spend. Just like the ears, when we are calm and peaceful, if someone comes and says that you are stupid like a cow, how are we? Laugh or want to slap people? Listening to a stupid word like a cow immediately raged, but immediately got angry and wanted to resist. So are our ears pierced with impurities? If you stick, the Maou is about to lead us. The ears were sticking, the others were also attached, like red eyes, hands to move, the organs all wanted to operate. So we have to be careful.
Suppose someone says you are a cow, is that humiliating? I see nothing humiliating. If anyone says I am a cow, I have to laugh, because I drink cow's milk. Do you drink cow's milk? - Yes! Yes, people say they are cows too, nothing wrong. There is nothing to be angry about. That is very normal. Our bodies are combined by many components. Every material thing helps me to survive. Thus, our cells grow. So we can live with the cow in it. People say that a cow is a must. Why is angry? But anyone in the world will suffer like that. Heard that the cow is angry, yelling and bringing to beating each other. We suffer because we don't recognize the truth in humans. So do not know when all are attached to, release the birth and death.
One more thing, for a long time, our Buddhists thought we had something sad, something angry, when we were angry, I was angry with that person, when I was sad, I was sad. So you think that anger, sadness is me, is me. If you are angry, then you lose when you are angry, right? If we are out of anger we are still intact, how can we say that we are angry? Thus, anger is not true, sad is not true. That's just a small part of my mind. It is born and it passes away and we assimilate it to ourselves. From this delusion should suffer, think of yourself like this, I am like that. The truth is angry not me, it's just the reaction of the pitch. And the true one is always covered all over, not that yard. If you say that the yard is yourself, you must protect the yard, so when you are angry with anyone, even if someone advises: "I have cultivated myself and I'm angry", I also protect my anger: "because that person is so angry that I get angry". Because I think that makes my anger reasonable, accepting and keeping my anger is right. Sadness, love, hatred and hate are the same.
We think about it, if we are angry, we are sad, not ourselves, we are not love, we hate not ourselves. But sad, love, anger, hate, we all think we are. So there are dozens of ones, that is a mistake. Should be sad, love, anger, hate is the mind temporarily temporarily then lost. Knowing this way can subdue it, win it. As for it, I will stop all the clothes, because it is what I have to serve. It is about inner mind.
When it comes to the body, when we get hurt anywhere, it hurts me. That said, it was me, but when the pain was over, what did I do? Be aware that pain is only a pain in one part of the body, or that the leg or abdomen hurts. So when the body hurts we still feel relaxed, not miserable. If my leg pain said I was in pain, my stomach ache said that I was in pain and pain everywhere I ended up writhing and moaning. Seeing my leg hurt, I didn't feel pain to see it. The truth is that he knows the pain, knows the pain, knows the pain. Understand so then in this life we have mastered somewhat. On the contrary, when we go on assimilating, I get angry, hurt, I hurt ..., just as assimilated like that, we can't control them, we can't chase them. So cultivators must be wise, accept it carefully,
In the old days when the Zen masters were sick, someone asked:
- Venerable sick, there is no disease?
They responded:
- Yes.
Ask:
- What is not sick?
They said:
- Yeah, yeah! yes yes!
That knowledge, that is not sick. So to see that they are not as assimilated as we are. Since we are mistaken, we have other obstacles. I lead the poem of a Zen master of Tran dynasty, ie King Tran Nhan Tong. When he handed over the throne to the son, he became the High-ranking Emperor, advising the King to rule the country. At this time, he made a rich essay of "Cu Tran Lac Dao", ie the rich article said in the world but was happy with the religion. The end of the poem has four kanji verses like this:
Religion is down to the coast.
The clogged janitor's clogged
The middle of the family has the right to retire
.
Temporarily translate:
In life fun grace guidance please
wait until then to bed tired to eat instant
Indoor only have treasures search
For a mind not asked Zen scene.
I explain each sentence,  in the happy life, depending on the conditions , the people in the secular life who are always happy with the religion must be skillful. What is it? Hungry, then tired and fast asleep, cleverly like grace. But many people misunderstood that. The young monks heard it so much. Tu is so strong, so hard. Hungry to eat, tired to sleep, very happy. There was a Zen monk in the mountain, when he met someone who asked the Venerable Master how he practiced, he replied, "hungry and tired." The layman said that he is hungry to eat, sleepy is too easy, I am also hungry to eat, sleepy, so what is the Venerable? He answered: Saying hungry, tired, but hungry people refused to eat, tired of sleeping.
Do we have that? As for the day when I went home from work, there was a hot rice, and the hot soup was decent. Every day, when I was tired, I had cold rice, the food was cold, then I had to grind the dishes, then I had to eat. That is to say, the case is cold, not to mention those who used to eat chili, eat spicy. What about a meal if you meet a slightly fishy dish without chili? Have to wait for chili to eat. So where do you endure hunger?
Then came to sleep. He said the people were tired and did not sleep and thought about hundreds of things. Just lay rolling over and over, remember the story of the year, the year of the year and not sleep. So tired to sleep. It is a hungry person who refuses to eat and is tired of sleeping. But hunger does not eat, tired of not sleeping is unknown depending on grace. Depending on the condition of being hungry, then eating, tired and sleeping, there is no contemplation. If you are depending on your grace, you will be happy in your life. People who are not skillful in love will find it difficult to cultivate in life, this is troublesome. The skilled tu see not difficult, what comes, depending on grace, solve immediately, do not have to worry about contemplating or fearing anything.
These two sentences are easy to hear, but it is not easy to consider carefully. To the third sentence,  in the house, it is only worth searching, Each of us has a precious pearl available inside, don't look far away. Often Buddhists have diseases to seek Buddha outside. Suppose that there is a stone on the mountain that resembles a Buddha statue, then comes to worship, or there is a termite that resembles a human, shouting to be Buddha, then bowing to each other. Finding Buddha like that knows how to meet Buddha. We cultivate, never depend on those imaginary images, because it is just imagination. I used to go to the mountains, and there were also caves. In the cave, there are many rocky statues of Quan Am, people think that Quan Am is coming and assembling. Actually that's just because of imagination, that's true. Buddha himself right where he does not remember, do not know. When the six bases do not stick with the six ceiling, the Buddha nature is manifest. Buddha immediately where I will not find, keep looking on the mountain on the young, in the cave in the cave, so, for the whole life, to run back and forth, the suffering is still miserable. Because we have forgotten the treasure in the house, it is not possible to find outside. It is a great mistake of our Buddhists.
The last sentence,  the mindless mind does not ask Zen, the  six bases for the six ceilings do not have attachment. Without mind, there are no thoughts, no thoughts. That's Zen. We meditate for an hour, two hours with foot pain, not all hours, what is out there is not sticky, it is easy to do. Seeing pictures without sticking with colors, listening to sounds without sound, etc. That is what we are cultivating meditation, so disengaged. But because we keep seeing it, we can hear it, so we have to sit in meditation, lower our legs and look down for less listening, see and remove times. If the object is heartless, then leave the seat, where to meditate. People who know how to cultivate things are very easy, very convenient, and do not know how to cultivate, they find it difficult and difficult.
There are many poor monks. As I heard that vegetarianism is a practice, we should start a vegetarian diet, but not enough means to become pale and miserable. Again, people are too sick to be vegetarian, so they are sad but do not dare to skip vegetarianism, fear of losing merit. Because of such inhibition, anyone who said it immediately got angry, who made it to bother. What are the benefits of being vegetarian when you are angry? It's just good at vegetarianism, not good at cultivation. Tu is not infected, listening to compliments is not happy, listening to criticism is not angry, seeing beauty, not liking, seeing bad do not hate, etc. All six bases are not infected with six ceiling, that is cultivating properly. If it is still easy to get infected, we will not practice it properly and not carefully. Many people because of their vegetarian diet, when coming to the house, anyone holding chopsticks sniffing with their breath immediately shook their heads. That is more acceptable than people.
Buddhism does not put vegetarianism above all, as the Theravada monks go begging for alms, Buddhists say that they should not be complained. As for the cultivator too, the chopsticks are slightly foul. Those are unskillful points, only in favor of form, not cultivating right in your mind. Our monks and nuns are blessed with great blessings, so today we are awakened to the monastery, leaving all of the world 's hindrances to pray for liberation. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp firmly and comprehend the teachings of the Buddha and the Patriarchs in order to apply them into their religious life, thus not wasting their lives. On the contrary, we cultivate to cultivate not to know anything, but only one life, not going anywhere.
The monastic need to cultivate to be able to teach the monks to cultivate. If the monk does not come out, he will not be taught anything. It is a great affliction. Hope that all monks and nuns are aware of that, their spiritual and spiritual efforts to lead the Buddhists on the right path. That is knowing your benefits, benefiting people or feeling self-conscious, feeling happy and happy. Is it possible to deserve to participate in the Love of the Tathagata? END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.25/5/2019.
