Looking For The Lamp.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.

According to the promise to the Maou at the Cāpāla temple, on the full moon day of Vesakha, Buddha will pass away Níp-table (1).
In the journey to Kusinārā - where He will discharge the five aggregates - The Blessed One has lots of teachings, messages and encouragement to the disciples about what needs to be practiced, after the Dao Master passed away: " Hey andananda, let yourself be a lamp to yourself, rely on yourself, not on something else. Use the Dharma as a lamp, use the Dharma as a refuge, do not rely on anything else ”(2)
.
During 45 years of propagating the Dharma, the Blessed One declared the Dharma teaching that he had enlightened to. The teachings of the Buddha shine bright like the sun. He is the "He put up what was thrown down, expose what is hidden, show the way to those who are lost, bring lights into the darkness so that those who have eyes can see sharpness. Also, the Dharma has been presented and explained by many World Religions ”(3).
World Religion see beings suffering but still engrossed with worldly pleasures, the five sensual pleasures. Therefore, in the Dhammapada he taught: " What to laugh, what joy to be / When life will be burned / Shrouded in darkness / Why not seek lamp " (4). Annotation of the Dharma Owl says: Once, Visakhha and her friends went to The Ton to pay homage and listen to the dharma. Before that, the friends of Visākhā had a wine party, when they came to the temple, they could no longer control their actions, they waved their arms and legs, sang and laughed and chattered to riot the assembly. Then the Blessed One saw that the sun was turned off, causing these women to panic and wake up, no longer intoxicated. At that time, the new Buddha preached the above verse to educate those women (5).
At the beginning of the verse, The Blessed One said: " What laugh? What joy ? ”. Life with rice money, surrounded by a career, wearing a career, aging and death, grief and suffering, and clinging to the brain. Beings are burned, so there is a forced smile, like sentient beings in the underworld Hell, they are like dancing, singing but actually in pain, moaning every moment.
What is being burned? It is the fire of greed, fire of the yard, the ignorance, the fire of birth, the old fire, the fire of death, the sorrow, the fire of fire, the fire of suffering, the fire of fire and the brain of fire. Greed, fire, and ignorance are the three things that belong to defilements. These three types of fire cause the inner heat to be burned and burned, which affects our rupa. Being born, old, dead, melancholy, compassion, suffering, virtue, brain are burning flames every minute of our daily lives. In this life we will never be at peace, truly happy. Even if a person has possessions, merit, longevity, glory, wealth and power, he cannot escape the flame of old age, sickness, and burning death; in their life they also cannot avoid sorrow, compassion, enthusiasm.
The verses " Smile, What joy / When life is burned " as a self-test. If a person asks himself or himself to review this life, even though he is happy with his wife, husband, children, property, he can escape old age, sickness, death, grief and compassion. , suffering, pros, the brain in everyday life? Not escaped! When we answer like this, we see that this is a very important issue of life. The person who practices us every day needs to ask such questions.
The last two verses of verse are " Shrouded in darkness / Why not search for a lamp? ”. When you are aware of yourself being burned, so there is nothing funny that jokes joyfully, so you need to reflect on your own and must find a way out. Like a talented general, when he knows he is surrounded, he must know how to rescue himself and the entire army. Similarly, we must know that we are surrounded by darkness, and must find a way out of that darkness.
The darkness here is ignorance, which means not understanding the things worth knowing. Dharma worth knowing here is suffering, human being suffering, killing suffering and the path leading to the elimination of suffering. Do not understand the four truths, the four truths are ignorance. As long as darkness darkness ignorance, then beings also besieged in scenes of reincarnation, unable to escape from the restraint of defilement, hatred and anger. Every day ignorance ceases, the greed and destruction will no longer be dominated by old age, no more sorrow, compassion, suffering, pros and cons.
In this world there is only one person who can break the ignorance himself, that is Buddha. He renounced the palace to become a renunciate, seeking the truth. For six years of asceticism, he studied with the ascetics who had attained enlightenment. He realized that for this kind of meditation, he still could not escape samsara. After that, he himself discovered the path of the Middle Way and became the chief of Samyaksambuddha. He is the only person in this world who has broken his own ignorance.
Now, we understand the Buddha Dharma, we know that when we practice the dharma, we have to be diligent in it, light the torch on your own. The Blessed One once taught, "You should do it enthusiastically / Tathagata will teach" (6). Padpa is the light, the light. When light appears, darkness disappears. Only the intellectual light can disrupt the night of ignorance, grasping impermanence - suffering - non-self of nama and rupa. Only intellectual property result, the wisdom of A-la-Han can break through the delusion.
Practice is step by step transforming, self-repair right now. When there is no mind of virtue, then the cultivator must create the mind - the mind - the mind (7) right from the very life. These three types of mind are seen as lights to light up. Even though it's dark in the night, we have these three lights, which have enough light to illuminate the road. Also, in the practice of life, although we have not received the light of wisdom, there must be three types of wisdom, wisdom, and wisdom.
By establishing mindfulness - awareness, we can be in control. Let yourself light the torch and go because the Dharma practice does not rely on another force. We must not only pray freely but be aware of what the nature of suffering is, the cause of it, and how we transform suffering. Once we understand we begin to look for the lamp and that lamp of intellect is only in our hearts. Try to practice promoting wisdom to be able to dispel the darkness of ignorance, eradicate burning defilements.
In short, the verse of the 146 Dhammapada has practical value in the practice, as a warning that the Blessed One sent to us all. We can by ourselves according to the circumstances, the level of practice that try to rise up, get rid of ignorance, afflictions.
Funny laugh like fun
When life forever covered with fire pink
In the dark night yes or no
Why not find escaped pink light. END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.16/11/2019.
