The Lotus Sutra takes lotus flowers as a symbol. Why? Because Lotus is not only often mentioned in the sutras, but the world is also very favored as the Covenant reminds:

"In what beautiful dress with lotus,

White cotton and green leaves are yellow

Yellow stamens with white green leaves,

Nearly mud that does not stink of mud"

Lotus is a very special flower, its tall nature is superior to other flowers. The life of the Buddha since he was born until he passed away, always associated with the lotus. Therefore, lotus is a symbol of liberation in Buddhism (Nine lotus lotus products are released). When the Buddha was born, He walked on the lotus seven steps. When the Buddha gave the dharma to the Buddha, he also took the lotus. So the Buddha is always honored to sit on the lotus.

Once pagan Dona asked: How should he be understood? He calmly replied: Just like a lotus, I was born in life, growing up in life without being polluted by life. So I am Buddha, Tathagata.

That lotus is extremely noble. It grows from the mud, but does not smell like mud. Lotus flowers have flowers that grow before flowers grow after, but when there is a chance to grow up to meet the sunlight, they all bloom, giving off the same fragrant smell. Other flowers when growing up, some time the flowers fall, they have fruits; and the lotus bud has fruits and fruits wrapped in lotus mirrors. The lotus is as big as the fruit and the lotus are so big. Simultaneous fruit. The lotus has a special thing that the butterfly does not pass, the worm does not eat, people do not take the jewelry on their heads.

When the new Buddha was just Enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, he immediately thought:  "The doctrine that I realized is too transcendental, super-theoretical, super-linguistic, profoundly wonderful. And beings in the middle of this life often crave sexual craving, sexual craving, how to understand for insight ".  So He hesitated, hesitating not to lecture. The gods knew that the Buddha's mind did not want to preach, so he asked him to give his sermon. The Buddha looked at the lotus pond, saw the lotus flowers, something that rose up from the mud without leaving the water, had something growing up in the water that has not yet risen from the water, something that grows out of the water but has not yet hatched, something that is about to bloom is waiting for the sun to shine.

Buddha thought:  "All beings in this world are like that. There is a low base class, a medium rank, a high base, but if those basic classes are met with light, meeting the Buddha's teachings will also be liberated and enlightened ”.  Therefore, he decided to transfer the dharma, the sermon.

Again, the lotus has a very special personality, because of that special character, Buddha took it as an example for His Dharma. So what is that Dharma? That is the Buddha nature, the Buddha's knowledge. Knowing how to call it is to know Buddha? Knowing how to see beings? Right to see left, to see beings. Seeing the truth is to know Buddha. Suppose that seeing is realization of beings.

Seeing the truth is to know Buddha. Impermanence, which is normal, selflessness, that is self, is to see beings. On the contrary, impermanence is impermanent, selflessness, selflessness, seeing Buddha ... Seeing Buddha is the true seeing of truth, the true nature of things. It is the seeing that there is no escape, no, usually, paragraph, and binary according to the prejudices of beings. Seeing that Buddha, it encompasses compassion, compassion, wisdom, liberation, so that knowledge is extremely noble, like a lotus in a mud without stinking of mud. What mud is the lotus growing in the mud? Buddhism, for example, is the defilement of beings.

That defilement made it possible to see that Buddha was disassembled, not present and could not grow, as well as the mud of the lotus. But when that sludge is outlined, all the flowers will grow. Flowers grow from the mud as well as the seeing Buddha grows from the affliction of beings. So the Vietnamese Zen Master Chan Nguyen has described:

“The ceiling is close to Tathagata,

Each being has a lotus.

Flowers are the nature of the tablet,

How the earth's upper and lower jaws are equal.

Does post-school know or not?

The heart of the mouth responds, speaks every word ”

Ceiling bare close to Tathagata:

The ceiling ceiling is close ... which means that the Buddha realm is infinite, as endless as bare dust no one counts. The world of beings, Buddha's world is so much, a world of numbers. If we replace the bare ceiling of the world with the world, then the world does have beings of course that world has Buddha. So bare ceiling close to the world are bare ceiling close to the Buddha, bare ceiling close to beings.

Each being has a lotus flower:

Each of us called oil-born beings, mindless, rich, poor, intelligent, dumb, and fierce-coming, also have lotus flowers. They are fierce today, but tomorrow is fierce, can they just be fierce for life and never have a bit of compassion? No matter how dark they are, they have a bit of insight. After all, such people have love, not complete aggression. Then it is in that person, there is also a bright fire or a little lotus which means that each person has a lotus like the Indian Enlightenment Zen Master said:

"The emptiness is not able to vote, 

Empty, not difficult, isn't it?

On the non-jade burning color is usually beautiful

Lotus in the wet, not dry yet "

Flowers are the nature of the park:

Station is standing still. Vienna is full and full. The lotus in the living beings, even though they are walking (reincarnation when doing heaven when they do, people, when animals are born, when hungry spirits ...), are generally reincarnated in six years. If you are a person, there are all kinds of things. When you are an intelligent person, an ignorant person, a good person with an evil person ... even if you do something, you will make a lotus, your wisdom will never change. It is always quiet, full, no distortion, no disappearance, no more. Trying to understand the Buddha here says with lotus metaphor, the place of being or where Buddha is the same, is no different. On the outside, the appearance of each person is different, but the Buddha in them is the lotus no different, it is only different in the expression.

How is the earth's upper and lower jaws equal to:

That lotus is equal, not more, not losing, not high, not low, all are equal. Only when that lotus is buried, because of the muddy and muddy, then the person becomes small. When the negativity (self) in each being is small, then the new Buddha-nature lotus flower grows big. The Buddha is a lotus that fully blooms, so the Buddha is very big. The Buddha was so big that he destroyed the altitude of 2500 and the sentient beings still thought of him, still seeing him daily and everywhere.

Buddha is the upper earth and the upper earth with the same. So He proclaimed  "The only celestial heavenly self"  He was turning down the dharma precepts (turning all ten directions).

The heart of the mouth responds, speaks every word:

It is our thoughts (flower heart) that come to our mouths to speak. Strictly speaking with the heart of the flower, the lotus in my mind responds. When applying, the application of fragrant flowers, not the rotten flowers, said everyone hated and disliked listening. The heart of the flower must be aromatic, gently subtle, like a lotus flower. The Buddha's dharma also has a special, enchantingness such as the flower center - Lotus in the mind. Buddha nature is the heart of flowers, the mind of the flower is the knowledge of Buddha, that is the magic of the dharma. The magic is in the mud without the smell of mud, so it is called magic, which is the color of the dharma. Whoever gets the dharma that appears is peaceful, so it is called magic.

All Buddhist teachings from beginning to end take lotus flowers as symbols, so Buddhism is also called Lotus:

- When the Buddha was born, he walked on the lotus.

- When the Buddha is about to lecture, he also sees lotus.

-When the Buddha gave the dharma to Ma-ha Ca Lettuce on the Linh Son assembly, it was also the lotus.

In history Buddha has said the mind transmits the mind. When He transmitted the Dharma of the viscera to the fake Religion Ma-ha Ca Lettuce in the Linh Son Association, that day, Venerable Thich Ca did nothing. When we gathered, he looked at the congregation one by one and slowly took a lotus flower in front of everyone. The whole society at that time was silent, no one understood anything, only Sun Jia Ma-ha Ca Deng laughed. (enraged enlightenment) The Buddha knew Ca Liep enlightened with the lotus that Buddha brought up. That is the mind of the mind (taking the mind to impress). False Religion Ma-Ca Houttuynia although not listening to Buddha say anything but get the mind of Buddha, should smile. The Buddha also saw that the place where Ca-lettuce was enlightened should say:  "The righteous Dharma of the eye and the eye, the Nirvana of the Noble Mind, the true form of the Prime Minister, the magic of the dharma, the vice-king Ma-ha Ca Lettuce" . (I have the treasure of the Tibetan eye, the eyes of the Dharma, the Nirvana, the mind of the mind, the general, the Prime Minister. Now he gives blessings to Ma-ha Ca Lettuce).

Since then Ma-ha Ca Lettuce received the Buddha's teaching so that when the Buddha had just entered Nirvana then he would have compiled the sutras for the first time to spread until today.

The Hoa Nghiem Sutra speaks of the Chinese and Tibetan world as follows:  "There are many incense-like seas of dust of ten impossible Buddha realms. From that sea, there was a big lotus with the name of the solemn ma ni king, ... This is the lotus world ".

Those who have read the story of Journey to the West are sure to know that: Tang Tam Tang went to do business in Tay Truc. Experiencing so many difficulties and treacherous dangers, which later became fictionalized into ghosts and demons on his way to pray.

When the Tang Dynasty came to China, it unified the country, strictly forbidden to enter and exit China. Xuanzang and some other Venerable monks offered to speak to the king asking permission to study abroad in India.

Waiting forever without permission, the Venerable monks offered to speak to him and let go. He patiently prayed for the Bodhisattvas every night.

One night in 629, he dreamed of seeing a mountain of Son Son in the middle of the sea, then jumped into the water to wade through, just then, a lotus appeared, bringing it to the foot of the mountain. Like it, wake up.

Since then, he has been determined to believe that everything will succeed, and that is why he won all the hardships later.

Sixteen years of visiting the business, nineteen years silently specializing in the translation, when the age was about to finish He pouted, instructing his disciples:  "The teacher is about to run out of life, he will not lie down to paint anything! Wrap him in a mat and bury it in a valley, empty and solitary! ”  Before he passed away, he seemed to wake up, saying: I see a lotus in front of my eyes, beautiful and strange!

Thirty-five years ago he saw a lotus, brought him through the sea to the Buddha's mountain, this lotus again brought him to the Buddha realm. It is also the lotus ”.

Today we recite the Buddha's name for rebirth as a lotus (nine lotus lotus products). The lotus flower inside it corresponds to the outside. Outside fit inside. If our mind is pure, then our lotus when praying for rebirth is as big as it is. sitting on a lotus to reborn Pure Land will only be able to sit down with a lotus flower, not how to make a good and high-class lotus. So how does the lotus in the mind show the lotus outside like that. How does this life appear, the tomorrow in the Pure Land is like that.

So chanting, copying, speaking ... Phap Hoa is also just to make the lotus in our own mind grow more and more, get rid of the mud, appear and display fragrant aroma for life . As the Little Saints prayed before the Buddha station:

"Gentle compassionate Taoist money,

The birth of the West of the earth and the earth is born,

The most vow to quote only water,

Suffering from a pure agent.

Mean:

"Before the merciful person prayed a few words,

Not being born in the Buddha's land does not go to heaven,

Please make small drops of water.
