[95] At that time, Lord Buddha was seated at Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika. At that time, a group of thirty Bhikkharas of Pāvā: all of them specialized in the forest, were all alms-beggars, all of whom were clothed in filthy cloth. To quit, all are the only three y. While traveling to Sāvatthi to see the Blessed One, due to the rainy season coming, they can not come to Sāvatthi for the rainy season. You are in the rainy season in Sāketa, in the middle of the route. They lived through the rainy season (thinking): " The Buddha is very close to us only six weeks ago, but we can not see the Buddha ." When living through the rain for three months,
This has become a custom for Buddhas to be blessed with bhikkhus. At that time, the Buddha said to these monks:
- Bhikkhus, health is quite good? Is everything good? Have you lived through the rainy season to be comfortable, have solidarity, friendly, not quarrel? And do not you have trouble with alms food?
White Lord, good health. Lord Buddha, everything is fine. And you, we have lived through the rainy season of unity, friendliness, not quarreling, and not hardship with alms food. In the case of us, we are a group of thirty monks from Pāvā while traveling to Sāvatthi to view the Blessed One, because the rainy season is approaching so it is impossible for Sāvatthi to enter. Rainy season We were in the rainy season in Sāketa, midway between the road. Bach, we here have lived through the rain season with sadness (thinking): " The Buddha is very close to us only six weeks ago, but we do not see the world Sun , after having lived through the rainy season for three months, having performed Pavāra lễā ,
[96] At that time, the Blessed One who, by reason of that fact, preached the Dharma talk and said to the monks,
- Bhikkhus, I allow Kaṭhina achievements for monks who have lived through the rainy season. Bhikkhus, when you have kaṭhina has been accomplished , these five things will become permissible (for you): the anāmantacāro departure, the leaving without carry (all three Y) (asamādānacāro), group life (gaṇabhojana,), yāvadatthacīvaraṃ (ya ca tattha cīvaruppādo) Nesaṃ bhavissati). Monks, Kaṭhina have been accomplished this way, not accomplished this way.
[97] And these monks, how Kaṭhina is not accomplished ? [first]
Kaṭhina was not attained at the marking stage of length, width (ullikhitamattena). Kaṭhina was not accomplished at the washing stage (dhovanamattena). Kaṭhina is not accomplished at the stage of calculating the y of the five things, or seven things, or nine things, etc. (cīvaravicāraṇamattena). Kaṭhina is not accomplished at the cutting stage according to the calculated (chedanamattena). Kaṭhina is not accomplished at the period of tritium (bandhanamattena). Kaṭhina was not attained at the sewing phase in the direction of the surefire (ovaṭṭikakaraṇamattena). Kaṇḍasakaraṇamattena is not achieved at Kaṭhina stage. Kaṭhina was not attained at the certain stage of apparel (daḷhīkammakaraṇamattena). Kaṭhina was not accomplished at the stage of sewing contours (anuvātakaraṇamattena). The bhikkhu who Kaṭhina was accomplished , took him (not done), went away. When he went out of the line, he said: " I will make this man there and will not return ." While he is being done, he is lost. The loss is Kaṭhina's expiration of that bhikkhu.
The bhikkhu who Kaṭhina has accomplished , took him (not done), left (thinking): " I will return ." He went out of the boundary and asked (man) do him. He, he was done, heard: " Hear that Kaṭhina in that place has been recovered ." [4] The hearing (news) is the expiration Kaṭhina for you. That Bhikkhu.
