IV. CHAPTER  PAVĀRAṆĀ
(PAVĀRAṆĀKKHANDHAKAṂ)
[224] At that time, Lord Buddha was seated at Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika.

This has become a practice of the Blessed Buddhas to be open to the Bhikkhus. At that time, the Buddha said to these monks:
- Bhikkhus, health is quite good? Is everything good? Do you have unity, friendliness, do not quarrel each other have to live the rain season comfortably and not be harsh due to alms food?
White Lord, good health. Lord Buddha, everything is fine. And you, we are united, friendly, not quarrelsome, have settled the rain season comfortably and do not be harsh due to alms food.
Tathagatrias still ask, knowing that they still do not ask, at the right time they ask, at the right time they do not ask, is related to the interests of the new Tathagata asked and not (ask Work) is not related to benefits, when there is no interest in the Tathagata has a way to cut the problem. The Buddhas asked the monks for two reasons: " We will preach the Dhamma or we will regulate the study of the disciples ."
At that time, the Buddha said to these monks:
- Monks, you have the unity, friendly, do not quarrel each other, how to survive rain (season) comfortably and not be harsh because of food is alms?
- You, in case we are composed of many monks, are friends of the same opinion, have settled in the rainy season in Kosala. Well, we hereby have this to say: " We have the unity, friendly, not quarrel, so in any way can live rain (season) comfortably and without difficulty Well , sir, here we have this idea: " If we can not talk to each other and do not talk: Whoever goes begging from the village comes first. [226] At that time, the Buddha said to the monks,
"Bhikkhus, these foolish people, while living uncomfortably, say," We have lived comfortably . Monks, actually these fools, while living with the common lifestyle of the sheep said that: " We were living comfortably ." "Hey monk, why fool this life over the practice of pagan imitate the dumb. Hey Bhikkhus,
- Bhikkhus, should not take the practice of the pagan practice imitation mute; The  dukkaṭa  (evil act) dukkha . Bhikkhus, for monks who have lived through the rainy season, allow us to petition on three occasions because they have been seen, either because they have been heard, or because of suspicion. In this way, you will have peace with one another, with freedom from sin, and a better understanding of the Law. And these monks, should request this:
The assembly needs to be informed by an experienced, competent bhikkhu:
Ladies and gentlemen, please listen to me. Today is the holiday Pavāraṇā. [1]  If the time is right for the congregation, the congregation should celebrate Pavāraṇā . "
The senior monk should put his head on one shoulder, squat, put his hands up, and should say like this:
Brothers, I ask the congregation. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, out of compassion ask for great virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
Dear brothers, I would like to appeal to the congregation for the second time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, out of compassion ask for great virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
Dear brothers, I would like to appeal to the congregation for the third time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, out of compassion ask for great virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it . "
The new bhikkhu should dress the head of one shoulder, squat, clap his hands, and should say this:
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to appeal to the congregation. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the great virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
Bach, I would like to appeal to the congregation for the second time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the great virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
Bach, I would like to request the third congregation. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it . "
[227] At that time, the Bhikkhunī Bhikkhus sat on their seats as the senior monks were squatting. The monks less desire, ... (as above) ..., they complain, critique, denigrate that:
- Why do the Bhikkhu Bhikkhus sitting on their seats while the senior monks are squatting petitioned?
After that, the monks reported it to the Blessed One.
Hey monks, heard the Bhikkhunī Bhikkhus sitting on their seats while the elders of the monks were squatting together, were not they?
- Well, that's right.
Lord Buddha blamed that:
- Bhikkhus, why the Bhikkhuni Bhikkhus sit still in their seats while the monks are squatting on the monks request. Hey monks, this incident does not bring faith to those who do not have faith, (as above) ...
After reprimanding, he preached the Dharma and said to the monks,
"Monks, do not sit still on the seat while the elders of monks are squatting together; Those who sit still are guilty of  dukkha  (evil). Bhikkhus, I allow all of them to squat to appease.
At that time, there was a frail old man squatting (thinking): " Until all the requests are made ," while waiting to be stunned and fall down. You have submitted this to the Buddha.
- Bhikkhus, I allow squatting while waiting for the petition, after requesting to sit down on the seat.
[228] Then the monks started this: " How many Pavāraṇā ?" They have submitted this to the Blessed One.
- Bhikkhus, these are two Pavāraṇā ceremony : the  fourteenth day and the fifteenth day. Bhikkhus, these are the two  Pavāraṇā .
At that time, the monks started this: " How many acts Pavāraṇā ?" They have submitted this to the Blessed One.
- Hey monk, here are the four acts of  Pavarana : Acts of the  Pavarana  wrong Fa faction, operating the  Pavarana  false French unity, operating the  Pavarana  true Fa faction, operating the  Pavarana  correct French unity .
Bhikkhus, this case is the action  Pavāraṇā  wrong French group, monks should not perform  Pavāraṇā  in such form and Pavāraṇā acts in such   a form is not allowed. .
Bhikkhus, this case means that the Pavāraṇā acts  united in  the Dharma, the monks, should not perform the  Pavāraṇā  in such form and the  Pavāraṇā  in such form is not given to us. daub.
Bhikkhus, this case means that the  Pavāraṇā  proper French group, the monks, should not perform  Pavāraṇā  in such form and the  Pavāraṇā  should not be allowed. .
Bhikkhus, this case means that the  Pavāraṇā  proper Dharma is united, the monks should perform the  Pavāraṇā  in such form and  Pavāra hànhā should  have such form. Bhikkhus, so here we are going to perform the  Pavāraṇā in  such a form that is, " Yes, the Fa has the unity ." Bhikkhus, you should study according to that.
[229] After that, the Blessed One said to the monks,
- Bhikkhus, gather together, the congregation will perform Pavāra lễā ceremony  .
When said so, one monk said to the Buddha:
- You, the bhikkhu sick. He does not come.
- Bhikkhus, I allow the sick Bhikkhu to express his request. And these monks, should express like this:
The bhikkhu should go to see a monk, should wear the upper shoulders, should sit squatting, hands up, and should say this:
I express my request. Please convey my request. (Please announce my request.) [2]  Please ask for my benefit . "
If he expresses himself, expressing himself with words, expressing himself and his words, the petition is expressed. If he does not express himself, not by words, not by body and speech, the petition has not been expressed. If this is achieved, it is good. Monks, if not achieved, should use the bed or chair to carry the bhikkhu disease to the midst of the congregation and then perform the ceremony  Pavāraṇā . Bhikkhus, if monks care for sickness like this: " If we move the diseased person out of place, the disease will aggravate or will be fatal ," the monks, should not Move the diseased sick leave. The assembly should go to and perform the Pavāraṇā ceremony   there. But Pavarana should not be celebrated  by the congregation ; Those who perform the  dukkaṭa  (evil act).
Bhikkhus, when the request is made, if the request is conveyed from the place itself, the request should be made to another person. Bhikkhus, when the request is made, if you convey the petition on the spot, then ... Bhikkhus, when the request is made, if the request is made in the middle of the road, the request is not transferred. Bhikkhus, when the request is made, if you convey the request in the middle of the road to return to the dead, ... Bhikkhus, when the request has been made, if the person who made the request reaches the congregation and leaves (the other place) the request is made. Bhikkhus, when the request has been made, if the person who delivered the request reached the congregation and then went back to the congregation, died ... (as above) ..., known as bhikkhus Then the request has been conveyed.
Bhikkhus, when the request was made, if the request was sent to the congregation and fell asleep, then the request was conveyed. The transfer of the petition is not a crime.
Monks, when the petition is made, if the petitioner has reached the congregation and entered without notification, the petition has been conveyed. The transfer of the petition is not a crime.
Bhikkhus, when the request has been made, if the request was made to the congregation and then ignored, then the request was conveyed. The transfer of the petition is not a crime.
Monks, when the petition is made, if the petitioner has reached the congregation and deliberately fails to give notice, the petition has been conveyed and the petitioner has been transgressed.  Dukkaṭa  (evil act).
On Bhikkhus, we allow the Pavāraṇa  to express the petition (at the same time) to show the willingness (in time) the  congregation to perform the action to be performed .
[230] At that time, on the holiday  Pavāraṇā  the relatives had held the monk. You have submitted this to the Buddha.
- Bhikkhus, the event on the holiday  Pavāraṇā  the relatives hold the bhikkhu back. The relatives should be told by these monks: " You, please release this bhikkhu for a moment until the monk completes the Pavarana ceremony ." To be like that, it is so nice. If they do not attain, they should be told by these monks: " You, please, stay aside for a while until the monk expresses the request. "If this is achieved, it is good. If they are not attained, they should be said by the monks, " Say, Please take this monk out of the boundary for a moment until the congregation performs Pavarana ceremony. "If that is what it is, then it is good. If not, the Pavarana should not be performed  by the  congregation ; Those who perform the  dukkaṭa  (evil act).
Hey Bhikkhu, the event on Pavarana holidays   the king hold the bhikkhu back. ... The thieves hold the ... (as above) ... The unmanage hold ... (as above) ... The rival bhikkhu hold The monk again. The bhikkhu rivals should be told by these monks: " Now, sail, please release this bhikkhu for a moment until the monk completes the Pavarana ceremony ." "If he achieved this, things are so good. If they do not, the bhikkhu rivals should be told by these bhikkhus: " Dear friends, take this bhikkhu out of the boundary for a moment. They perform Pavāraṇā ceremony. "If that is what it is, then it is good. If that is not possible, Pavarana should not be performed  by the  congregation ; Those who perform the dukkaṭa  (evil act). Pavāraṇā should not be celebrated by the congregation ; Those who perform the dukkaṭa (evil act). Pavāraṇā should not be celebrated by the congregation ; Those who perform the  dukkaṭa (evil act).
[231] At that time,  there were five Bhikkhus living at the residence on  Pavarana . At that time, these bhikkhus have started this: " The Blessed One has stated that 'the assembly should celebrate Pavāraṇā' and we are the five, so how should we perform Pavāraṇā ceremony? You have submitted this to the Blessed One.
- Bhikkhus, I allow the appeal of the congregation for five years.
At that time,  there were four Bhikkhus living on the Pavarana holiday  . At that time, these monks started this: " The Blessed One has allowed the appeal of the congregation for the five and we are four, so how should we perform the Pavarana ceremony ? "You have submitted this to the Blessed One.
- Bhikkhus, we allow each other to ask for the four (taste). And these monks, should request this:
These monks should be informed by an experienced, competent bhikkhu:
Please listen to my great virtues, today is Pavarana on the fifteenth day. If it is a good time for the great virtues, we should ask each other . "
The elder monk should put his head on one shoulder, squat down, put his arms up, and should say to the monks:
Brothers, I ask for great virtues. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
My brothers, I ask for the great virtues for the second time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the great virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
Brothers, I ask for the great virtues for the third time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it . "
The newly ordained bhikkhuni should shoulder the shoulders of one shoulder, squat, clap his hands, and should say to the monks such as this:
Ladies and gentlemen,  I would like to petition the great virtues. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
Bach, I request the virtues for the second time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the great virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it.
Bach, I request the third great virtue. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please ask the virtues tell me. When I realized I would fix it . "
At that time,  there were three Bhikkhus staying at  Pavarana . At that time, these monks started this: " The Blessed One has allowed the request of the congregation for five, requesting one another for the four and we are three. How should we perform Pavarana ceremony ? "They have submitted this to the Blessed One.
- Bhikkhus, we allow each other to appeal to you. And these monks, should request this:
These monks need to be informed by an experienced, competent bhikkhu:
Please listen to my great virtues, today is Pavarana on the fifteenth day. If it is a good time for the great virtues, we should ask each other . "

At that time,  there were two Bhikkhus living in Pavarana on the holiday  Pavāraṇā . At that time, these bhikkhus started this: " The Blessed One has permitted the request of the congregation for five, petitioning one another for four, petitioning each other for three (We) and we are two, so how should we perform Pavarana ceremony ? "They have submitted this to the Blessed One.
- Bhikkhus, we allow each other to appeal to two. And these monks, should request this:
The Elder Bhikkhuni should dress his shoulders with one shoulder, squat, clap his hands, and should say to the new monk:
Hey, I beg your piety. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please say great virtue to me. When I realized I would fix it.
Hey, I beg your pardon for the second time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please say great virtue to me. When I realized I would fix it.
Hey, I beg your piety for the third time. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please say great virtue to me. When I realized I would fix it . "
The new bhikkhu should dress the head of one shoulder, squat, clap his hands, and should say to the senior monk like this:
Lord,  I ask for the great virtue. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please say great virtue to me. When I realized I would fix it.
Bach, I ask for a second great virtue. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please say great virtue to me. When I realized I would fix it.
Bach, I request a third great virtue. As seen, either by hearing, or by suspicion, for mercy please say great virtue to me. When I realized I would fix it . "
At that time,  a resident Bhikkhu was staying at Pavarana on the holiday  . At that time, the bhikkhu initiated this: " The Blessed One has permitted the request of the congregation for five, petitioning each other for four, petitioning each other to the three ( T), ask each other for two and we are alone, so how should we perform Pavarana ceremony ? "They have submitted this to the Buddha.
- Bhikkhus, the case at the residence on the holiday  Pavāraṇā  has a Bhikkhu resident. Bhikkhus, where the monks often return is in the lecture hall, or in the roof, or at the base of the tree, the monk should sweep the area, so bring water to wash water, should be arranged. Book seats, should light the lamp, then sit down. If there are other monks to go to, should perform  Pavarana  with them; If there is no one to go to should be vigilant : " Today is my Pavāraṇā ceremony ." If not vowed to commit  dukkaṭa  (evil act).
Bhikkhus, where five monks reside, should not pass on one's request and petition the congregation by four. If the petitioners are guilty  dukkaṭa  (evil).
Monks, in the case where four monks reside, should not convey the request of one and petition each other by the three. If the petitioners are guilty  dukkaṭa  (evil).
Monks, in the case where three monks reside, should not pass on the request of one and ask for one another by two. If the petitioners are guilty  dukkaṭa  (evil).
Monks, in the case where two monks reside, should not pass on the request of one and pray for one. If the vow is  dukkaṭa  (evil).
[232] At that time, a monk was found guilty on the holiday  Pavāraṇā . At that time, the bhikkhuinitiated this: " The Buddha said: 'The offender should not perform Pavarana ceremony and I was guilty of sin; So how should we practice ? "They reported it to the Buddha.
- Bhikkhus, the case of the monk was guilty on  Pavarana . Bhikkhus, the monk should go to meet a bhikkhu, should wear a high heel shoulders, should squat, should clap his hands, and should say this:
-  Great virtue, I have sinned the name (like this), I repent to that crime.
The other should say:
-  Did (Venerable) see that?
- Yes, I see.
- (Veneration) in the future.
Monks, in case the bhikkhu has doubts about the offense on  Pavāraṇā . Bhikkhus, the monk should go to meet a bhikkhu, should wear a high heel shoulders, should squat, should clap his hands, and should say this:
Well  , I have doubts about the offense (name), when I get rid of the doubt then I will repair the crime.
Finished  Pavarana  should be done, but should not be  impeded Pavarana  for the cause.
At that time, there is a monk while being requested to remember sin. At that time, the bhikkhu initiated this: " The Blessed One has said: 'The offender should not be requested' and I was sinned; So how should we practice ? "They reported it to the Buddha.
- Bhikkhus, the case of the monk while being requested, remember the sin. Bhikkhus, the monk should say to the bhikkhu next to him: " I have sinned, I have sinned by this name, after I got up from here I will repair it. "Having said that, you should ask, but do not obstruct the request for that cause.
Monks, in the case of a monk while being requested, are suspected of committing crimes. Bhikkhus, the monk should say to the bhikkhu next to him, "This is great, I have doubts about the offense (name), when I get rid of the doubt. I will correct that sin. "Having said that, you should ask, but do not obstruct the request for that cause.
At that time, at the Pavarana holiday on the  whole festival  condemned the same crime. At that time, these bhikkhus have started this: " The Buddha has stated that: 'Should not repent of sin (done) the same, should not record the same (committed)' and the whole This assembly has sinned the same, so how should we practice ? "They have submitted this to the Blessed One.
- Bhikkhus, the case at the abode on the festival  Pavarana  all the congregation have committed the same offense. Bhikkhus, the bhikkhus should send a bhikkhu to the neighboring state on that day (say): " Greatness, go and repent, turn back, We will repair it in the presence of the great virtue. "If that is what it is, then it is good. Bhikkhus, if they do not attain, then the congregation should be informed by an experienced, competent bhikkhu: " Blessed are you, please listen to me. All this congregation has sinned the same, when (the congregation) see the other monk pure innocent then (congregation) will repair it in his presence . " ,
