- Bhikkhus, I allow the assembly on the fourteenth day, on the fifteenth day, and on the eighth day of every half month.
[148] At that time, the monks (thinking) said: " The Buddha allowed the assembly on the fourteenth day of the fifteenth day, and on the eighth day of each half " Assembly on the fourteenth day, on the fifteenth day, and on the eighth day of each half, they sat quietly. - Why are recluses like from gathering on the day after fourteen, on the fifteenth day, and on the eighth day of fortnightly sat silent like the dumb pig [1] that? Why did you gather without teaching the Fa?

- Bhikkhus, I allow the Dharma after the assembly on the fourteenth day, on the fifteenth day, and on the eighth day of every half month.
[149] At that time, the Blessed One, in meditation in the desert, thought of this thought as arising: " Or should we allow them to recite the Pātimokkha precepts, It is prescribed for the monks, will it be the Uposatha for them ? - Bhikkhus, in the case of us in meditation in the desert, thinking thoughts like this have been born: " Or should we allow them to recite Pātimokkha of the lessons learned The rules for bhikkhus, will it be the Uposatha for them ? "Bhikkhus, I allow the recitation of Pātimokkha . And these monks, should recite like this:

"Ladies and gentlemen, please listen to me. If the time is right for the congregation, the congregation should conduct Uposatha, so recite the Pātimokkha. What is the first assembly of the congregation? The great virtues declare purity and then I will recite the Pātimokkha. All of us (ourselves) are serious listeners and pay attention to that. [150] Pātimokkha : This is the first, this is the entrance, this is the head of the good, so called " Pātimokkha ."
Great virtues : This is polite speech, this is respectful speech, this is respectful speech and submission, ie " great virtue ."
I will recite : I will explain, I will lecture, I will just say, I will lay out, I will expand, I will analyze, I will make clear, I will show clear.
That : called Pātimokkha precepts .
All the presence : in the congregation to the elders, the novices, or the middle-aged, these are called " all present ."
Let us listen seriously : after concentration, after concentration, after concentrating all our attention.
(We) pay attention : (we) be attentive to the mind at one point, with the mind not distracted, with the mind not disturbed.
Any person who commits a crime : Any offense in the group of five sins or any of the seven sins of the elder, the novices, or the middle aged.
He should express : he should repent, he should declare, he should make clear, he should show clearly in the midst of the congregation, either in the middle of the group, or in a place.
No : it means that he did not sin, or after the crime has been released from crime.
Should be silent : should consent, should not speak.

As for each question being answered, there is the answer : Just as one person is asked by another, it should be answered, similarly to that congregation, what should be known: " He asked Me . "

(He) remembers : he knows, he recognizes.
Sin is : means (he) has sinned, or after the crime has not been rid of the crime.

He deliberately lies : What is deliberate lying? Was wrong.

Wants to be clean : there is the desire to get out, there is the desire to be clean.

[153] At that time, Venerable Mahākappina lived in Rājagaha, in Maddakucchi, where the deer garden was. "Hey, Kappina, are you in meditation in the desert, thinking like this:" We should go to Uposatha or not go, we should go. The conduct of the congregation or should not go, while I was purified with the ultimate purity ?

- Bhikkhus, I allow to set boundaries (sīmā). And these monks, should fix like this:
First, landmarks need to be identified: landmarks are mountains, landmarks are rocks, landmarks are forests, landmarks are landmarks, landmarks are termites, milestones River, landmark is puddle. After identifying the landmarks, the congregation should be informed by an experienced, competent bhikkhu:

[157] At that time, the Bhikkhus recited the Pātimokkha precepts in unidentified suites. The bhikkhu did not know: "Where will Uposatha be done today ?" They reported it to the Blessed One.
- Bhikkhus, do not read the Pātimokkha precepts in the unidentified suites; Those who recite are guilty of dukkha (evil). "Monks, do not appoint two Uposatha priests in a residence ; Those who are guilty of dukkha (evil). Monks, I allow after canceling one and then perform Uposatha in one place (left). And these monks should cancel this:
The assembly needs to be informed by an experienced, competent bhikkhu:
" Ladies and gentlemen, please listen to me. If the time is right for the congregation, the congregation should abolish the house of worship Uposatha name (like this). This is a suggestion.

[159] At that time, in the abode, the house of worship of Uposatha was set too small. On the day of Uposatha , the mass of monks gathered. The monks sit down in the unassigned area and listen to Pātimokkha . - Bhikkhus, who sit in the designated area or not, are appointed and listened to the Uposatha precepts from the place where their Uposatha was performed . Hey, great virtues, why are you dressing scandal, dressing down?

[152] Bhikkhus, while fixing the boundaries, should first set the boundaries of the co-ownership, and then assign the absence of the offender. " Ladies and gentlemen, please listen to me. The boundary that has been determined by the congregation to be the co-possession of the same Uposatha, should be the appropriate time for the congregation, the congregation should abolish the boundary. This is a suggestion.

Any virtue that agrees to cancel the boundary of the same cohort of Uposatha would be silent; Those who do not agree can speak up.

[164] Bhikkhus, when boundaries have not yet been established, the monk (bhikkhu) lives on the village or town, in which case the village boundary of that village or boundary The town of that town is the boundary of the same colony of the same Uposatha .
This Bhikkhu, where not a village, in the woods, in the event that (area) seven abbhantara [5] around the (boundary) and resident communities share a feast uposatha .
Bhikkhus, the entire river is not the boundary, the whole sea is not boundary, the whole of nature is not the boundary. In Bhikkhus, in the river, in the sea, in the lake, in that case (the area) by the throwing of the water around the average (strong) man (boundary) plus a common residence holidays uposatha .

Bhikkhus, this case means that the Uposatha is united in the Dharma, the monks should not perform the Uposatha in such form and the Uposatha in such form is not given to us. daub.
Bhikkhus, this case means that the Uposatha acts according to the law of the Fa, the monks, should not perform the Uposatha in such form and the Uposatha in such form is not allowed. .
Bhikkhus, this case means that the Uposatha proper Dharma is united, the monks should perform the Uposatha in such form and the Uposatha in such form is allowed. [167] Then the monks started this: " How many readings of Pātimokkha ?" They reported it to the Blessed One.
