Buddhism with the Five Holy Realms.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
The Five Precepts of Buddhism are also known as the Five Precepts or the Five Precepts. At first glance, people who have just come to Buddhism through the concept of two words from the Holy Realm seem "sublime" and difficult to reach, so it's easy to get discouraged. But in fact, these are the five things Buddha taught that are very close to life and easy to implement.

According to the Buddhist scriptures, the five precepts are: Do not kill, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not lie, and do not drink alcohol.
If anyone pays attention and tries to practice, these 5 things will become the five Holy Realms, nothing is too far away and difficult to do. Because according to the teachings of the ancestors, after all, even the monastic precepts prevent hundreds of things, but they do not run outside of these five holy worlds.
So what are these five precepts? According to the Buddhist scriptures, the five precepts are: Do not kill, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not lie, and do not drink alcohol. Talking about the practice and practical benefits of these five holy precepts, the writer would like to mention the following; and now let's take a brief look at the reality of today's society before talking about the effectiveness of these five precepts.
As we all know, we are living in a period of global socio-economic integration, in which the market economy always affects many aspects of social life, causing real pressing problems. According to the Buddha's occult teachings, this is the period (the end of the Dharma), the period that causes a lot of damage to human society (after all, because we have violated these five precepts), so it happened. There are many pitiful and pitiful things, because people lack self-control, or rather in the Buddhist way, we cannot overcome "anger" at the reality of life that leads to "delusion" to create evil karma.
We who (beginners) first come to Buddhism, let's learn together about these five holy worlds and then experience and practice seeing the profound meaning that the Buddha taught in the five precepts.
Whether we are Buddhists or not, if we effectively understand and practice the five Holy Realms of the Buddha mentioned above during this turbulent time, everything will become peaceful.
So we (beginners) first come to Buddhism, let's learn together about these five holy worlds and then experience and practice to see how deep the meaning is that the Buddha taught in these five precepts? Now, let's first understand the concept of these five Holy Realms:
So what is "gender"? How is the original meaning of the word world understood to match the content of the Holy World?
Precepts - means to prevent and prevent mistakes and tribulations for human body and mind. Each religion born has its own "gender". For example, there is a Tao that forbids eating pork. Whoever eats it is considered a violation of the precepts; and some other religions they also have their own precepts and precepts for their followers.
In a society where many people are superstitious about ghosts and gods, there are even more precepts forbidding strange nonsense, such as India during the time of Shakyamuni Buddha, there were all kinds of ascetic practices such as plastering ashes on people, abstaining from eating and drinking, etc. the way to pure Nirvana. Therefore, it is necessary to have wisdom to recognize and distinguish what is the main precept, which is the wrong precept, and which is the holy world of Buddhism. Buddhism always takes precepts as the basis, takes meditation as the focus, and takes wisdom as the goal.
The Buddha's precepts are always closely linked in the three most basic subjects that are Precepts-Concentration-Wisdom, these three precepts are also known as the Three Unscrupulous Schools, of which Precept is the first subject.
Therefore, the Buddha's precepts are always closely linked in the three most basic subjects that are Precepts-Concentration-Wisdom, these three precepts are also known as the Three Unscrupulous Schools, of which Precept is the first subject. Because, “The precepts are the first step of the path to enlightenment, the foundation of meditation and wisdom.” Referring to the HT precepts. Thich Thien Sieu once made it clear that the Buddhist precepts are "prevent not only evil" or "only good and evil" - which means to be on guard and not to do evil, to do wrong, to do all good things, to be useful to others. yourself, for people. Therefore, learning precepts or keeping precepts is always synonymous with learning morality and ethics. Keeping the precepts is to create a civilized, good-oriented lifestyle that any progressive society always aims for.
These five things of the Holy World were preached by Shakyamuni Buddha himself in the land of Kosala (ie KoSala, the old name of Sāvatthi in ancient India). The person who heard the Buddha preach this Holy Year is the elder in the Cau-sat-La area (for example, an official of the highest level of the District, the District now).
The Buddha opened his sermon by asking the Elder that: "If anyone has an excuse or without reason intends to kill me, harm my life, would I want to? If someone stole my property, or wanted to take it from me, would I want to? If someone were to commit adultery with me and my relatives, would I want to? If someone deceived me or tried to deceive me, or cursed and said vulgar words to me, would I want to? If there is another person who is drunk, loses all reason, all his words and hysterical actions caused by his drinking, do we want to? Of course, we don't want that to happen. And what you don't want it to happen to you, don't do it to others." Then the Buddha concluded: "Those are the five things that the Holy Realm has many benefits for the world. Therefore, as a disciple of the Buddha, one must observe the five holy worlds because those are the five acts of great generosity.
Usually people think about big things, but in reality life tells us that all big things start from small things and seemingly small things. Those are the negative things that we see happening so often today and it's painful. The birth of these five things of the Holy World, which has been extensively recorded and discussed during the more than 25 centuries of Buddhism until today, reminds many of us that we hear it and think it's boring.
But calmly reflecting on these five Holy Realms, passing the test of time to this day in this "End of the Dharma", the more we see that what the Buddha invented in the five Holy Realms is indeed true for all people. era, because this is the cause of all causes leading to competition over losing and creating suffering karma without end if people do not soon realize this. The reason is known, how to practice the five holy precepts as taught by the Buddha effectively, below would like to repeat the content of these five precepts:
1. Don't kill: The mind that doesn't kill is the mind that doesn't harm the lives of others. Like all species, there is no war or terror, but over the past 21 centuries, mankind has not stopped worrying...
2. Don't steal: If you don't take what you don't give, you won't steal anymore. Without tricks, tricks or inciting others to do treacherous things for personal gain, of course, there is a healthy, safe and happy life.
3. Do not commit adultery: That is, to well implement the law of marriage and family, monogamy, healthy living and equality in terms of material and spiritual interests, so there is no jealousy to kill each other. There is a proverb that says, "All evils, sex is first". Fornication here is adultery.
4. Do not lie: That is, do not say need, do not lie, say wrong words. Gossip is a felony of the law, because gossip causes a reversal of right and wrong. If you live a healthy life, speak thoughtfully to help people see the truth, then you will be respected by the world. Otherwise, it will cause evil.
5. Do not drink alcohol: It is a stimulant drink. People often say, wine in words out. The words of the drinker have no guarantee, because the words come out when the spirit is captivated! Drinking alcohol can lead to anger, fights, and loss of personality because of not knowing shame. If you don't drink alcohol, your wisdom will always be clear and you won't be seriously ill, and everyone will respect you; rebirth in the next life without being confused, stupid...
If everyone practiced the Five Noble Realms, how could the world not be at peace, the home would not be happy, and the people would be full as their fathers taught. Therefore, precept is the root of Phuc. People who practice Buddhism, study Buddhism or anyone else who practice the Five Holy Realms also gain many practical benefits. Those who violate the Holy Realm are of course breaking the law. For example, anyone who harms another person's life is imprisoned and sentenced to death. Whoever steals or instigates people to do bad things is also breaking the law ... From that, the Buddhadharma and the National Law always complement and support each other, bringing benefits to people. Following the above five things, of course, does not violate the National Law and keeps society safe. Helping society to progress and develop is the act of "great generosity". The word almsgiving means: giving, giving (including material and spiritual wisdom).
The characteristics of the Buddha's five holy worlds are deeply humane and human. Therefore, the content of this year of the Holy World was proposed by the International Buddhist Conference in 1998 to the United Nations, stating one criterion: "The five precepts must be the foundation of global education..." . Here we see the Buddha's "separation from the world" to enlighten people.
Distinguishing the Precepts and the Holy Realms:
As mentioned above, precepts are not unique to Buddhism because other religions also have their own precepts. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish what is the holy world so that keeping the precepts is not confused and lost.
The precepts stated by Shakyamuni Buddha and recorded in the Buddhist scriptures are all called the holy world.
The reason the Buddha divided into many types of precepts was to respond to the different levels of practice such as: monasticism, staying home. For example, the precepts for lay Buddhists include: Five Precepts, Eight Precepts, and Ten Good Precepts. Bhikkhu monasteries: about the Sangha (male monks) there are 250 precepts; There are 348 precepts about nuns. There is also the world and the world again ... based on each type of "world" that Buddhist practitioners keep applying predestined conditions. Because the Buddhadharma is "uncertain dharma", taking the spirit of "the physical contract" as the foundation. Therefore, the practice of Buddhism or the keeping of precepts in Buddhism is very flexible, not rigid, nor as extreme as some other religions.
But in the "precepts" mentioned above, all take the basis of the Five Precepts (five precepts) as the basis. According to HT. Thich Thanh Nghiem: In principle, Buddhism has no dogma, if there is a dogma, it is a precept.
However, the precepts of Buddhism do not come from the command, from the will of the Gods, so it does not include the mystical nature of other religions. The precepts of Buddhism are based on the requirements of morality and ethics and have an empirically applied rational nature.
“The basic precepts of Buddhism are the 5 precepts, the 10 virtues, the 8 precepts and the 10 precepts of the monastic, the precepts of bhikkhus and bhikkhunis, in addition, there are also the bodhisattva precepts of the Mahayana. But all of them take the 5 precepts and the 10 virtues to improve or distinguish in more detail. So, if you can perfectly keep the 5 precepts and the 10 good ones, then it won't be too difficult to observe the other precepts." So the first 5 precepts are called the Holy Year.
As the problem mentioned above, because of the fusion between Buddhism and the National Law, Buddhism present in other countries is always welcomed and respected. Therefore, the vast influence of Buddhism in the advanced societies of the world for many centuries has confirmed the truth or more specifically, that the teachings of Buddhism are always compatible with objective reality.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.3/6/2021.
