Avoid creating suffering. One day, the Buddha and the monks went for alms in the countryside. Meet the children who are catching crabs in the field and bring them up to play games for them to race against each other, whoever loses will be punished by breaking the claws. Imagine if any one loses about 10 times, the claws and legs will be broken, when the crab can't crawl anymore, they will trample the field with their feet. Those who win it also break even more to accept the other ones. Buddha saw that the game was too cruel, so he called back and said: "Hey children! Come on kids stop, don't play games like that. For example, if you cut off your leg, or break your arm, will it hurt? "They said, "Yes, it hurts". Buddha said: "The crab is the same, it's broken by you, broken leg, it also hurts like you, do you know?" When the children heard that, they also felt that their actions were not good, so they kept quiet and did not answer. Buddha continued: "The crab also knows how to eat and drink, it also has its parents and siblings like you. And if you hurt the crab like that, you will also suffer its parents and siblings. Just like when children are sick, their parents or siblings also have to worry and suffer. If a crab can't walk with a broken leg, that means it can't find food, it will suffer many times more. Well then, don't play foolishly like that." When the children heard this, they expressed regret. The Buddha cleverly reminded that doing so is causing suffering to the crab, so we must also remember that we are the same. Sometimes I cut off my leg, or when I get a scratch on my skin, it hurts, but I break the claws and break the legs of the crab without feeling any pain? Sometimes when I get sick, my parents and siblings worry more; If the crab is like this, the parents, His siblings also have worries for him, but it can't be helped, thinking like that, I will have an open mind. At that time, the passersby found it strange that they stopped to see a large number of people, and took this opportunity to teach more, that is, to teach these children and adults. The Buddha said: "Children! We all want to live safely and happily, so do animals, they also want to live safely and happily. So we have to make sure that all species live in peace and happiness, that's fair. We must protect each other's lives, and bring joy to each other." And He said this sentence is a sentence that we should learn carefully, remember not to forget: "If we cannot bring happiness to others, we should also try to avoid causing more suffering". Buddha further taught: "All animals, whether large or small, whether walking on two legs, Even swimming in the water have the right to live in peace and happiness. We should not kill and hate each other, we should help and protect each other." Why do you think the Buddha taught like that? Because sentient beings are confused, they often do not live up to the truth. When we do suffering for people or things, we are happy and ready to do it, assuming other people do it for us, we will not accept it. Those who have studied Buddhism must reconsider, avoid creating the cause of suffering and then meet the result, have to live in suffering without realizing their delusion. That means doing the wrong thing, but I don't realize it, sometimes I think I'm right, so I keep doing it. We should help and protect each other." Why do you think the Buddha taught like that?
