Practicing the new Dharma is making offerings to the Tathagata.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH. The Buddha's disciples love to make offerings to the Blessed One to cultivate good roots and cultivate merit. Usually, we often buy rice, water, incense, lamps, flowers, fruits (six offerings) as offerings to the Buddha. After sincerely offering, my heart feels happy with the good deeds done. Diligently worshiping the Buddha and the Three Jewels in general will achieve outstanding results in the present and future. In addition to the way of offering as mentioned, there is another very special offering, which is receiving and practicing the Dharma. This is one of the important teachings and instructions of the Blessed One near Nirvana for his disciples. This shows that the Buddha foresaw the possibility that later his disciples would prefer to worship and worship rather than study and practice according to his teachings. “Once upon a time, the Buddha was living in Mount Kysarak, in the city of La-guest, with a large assembly of monks. (…) At that time, the Blessed One entered the city of Ko-thi, went to the native land, in the middle of the forest of the two lives of the Mala family, and said to Ananda: - Fix the place in the middle of the twin life tree for me to lie down, with the head facing the north and the face facing west. This is so, because My teachings will be handed down for a long time in the North. - Ananda replied: Yes. Then clear the place, let the head be built to the North. Then the World-Honored One took the Sangha himself folded in half, covered himself, and lay on his side like a lion king, his legs overlapping. At that time, among the twin life trees, there were ghosts and gods who devoted themselves to the Buddha, and scattered flowers in the wrong season on the ground. The Buddha told Ananda that: - The god of the twin life tree took the wrong-season flowers to make offerings to me like that, not yet made offerings to the Tathagata. Ananda said: - Why is it an offering to the Tathagata? The Buddha taught: - Those who know how to receive and properly practice the Dharma, are those who make offerings to the Tathagata. Contemplating this meaning, the Buddha said the verse: Buddha in the middle Song life Lying on his side, mind not disordered Spirit tree pure mind Spread flowers on Buddha. Ananda asked the Buddha: What is an offering? Listen to the Dharma and practice Offering by means of the Buddha. Yellow flowers like a wheel Not an offering to the Buddha Kettle, precepts, entering selflessness Is the best offering. The last teachings of the Buddha are always extremely important. By the way the tree gods gathered flowers in the wrong season to offer, the Buddha immediately taught that even offering flowers of gold as large as a wheel is not as precious as the flower of enlightenment. It is listening to the Dharma and properly practicing the Dharma that is really making offerings to the Tathagata. Of course, bringing six offerings (six offerings) to the Buddha will bring immeasurable blessings, but studying and practicing the right Dharma will create outstanding merit, one can escape birth and death in this life. I think, the Buddha wants to tell us that those who have enough of the six offerings along with studying and practicing the right Dharma to make offerings to the Tathagata are very precious. Because it is not enough to just offer six offerings to the Tathagata. If those who because of certain circumstances do not have the six offerings, just make offerings to the Tathagata by studying and practicing the right Dharma. This way of making offerings, the merits and demerits are even more superior than the six offerings. Especially, if you practice the Dharma and reach "Warmth, precepts, enter no-self", the Buddha affirmed that it is the first-class offering. Practicing the Dharma, seeing that the body, mind, and world are all selfless is the ultimate offering to the Tathagata.END=NAMO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.18/6/2021.
