People are oriented toward Him not by miracles but by His qualities of endurance and self-control. He said: "Monks, the Tathagata does not hurt even those who hurt the Tathagata. The Tathagata endures and restrains himself, so many people who take refuge in the Tathagata take refuge in that virtue."
