Discipline: Sources of energy of the Sangha .VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
The purity, harmony in the Sangha and keeping the Bhikkhu body not being deceived by secular people is a very difficult job, requiring the effort and solidarity of the whole Sangha. Especially in order not to cause distrust with the Three Jewels of followers, Buddhists, Buddha declared the precepts.

Sangha Buddha
The precepts that help eliminate karma, and strictly keep the precepts will be enjoyed not only in the future but also in the present life, will be peaceful and peaceful.
The Long Sutra has stated the 5 benefits of observing the precepts as follows:
"- Those who have moral virtue will enjoy the fortune and protection from diligence.
- People with good morality are widely rumored.
- People of moral virtue are not afraid to be timid when coming to crowded assemblies.
- People who have moral precepts when their mind dies without disturbance
- People who have moral virtue after their life is born of good and heavenly beings ”.
The Buddha established the precepts not beyond the purpose of wanting them to be pure and solemn, in harmony with the Sangha.

The Buddha taught, "Bhikkhus, after Tathagata's death, you have to respect and respect the pure precepts, like those who are blind and whose eyes are bright and poor, but they have gold and jade. Know the pure precepts are the great masters of the masters. If Tathagata exists in life, it is no different from that of the pure world ”.
Ma Ha Tang Ky Law, Volume I, Buddha told Xa Loi Phat: "There are 10 benefits so Buddhas are Tathagata because of the disciples' restraint. The ten benefits are:
- Because of the Sangha.
- Because of the thorough aim to increase them.
- Because we want to give them peace.
- For photographing those who are not ashamed.
- For letting the shameless people settle down.
- Because letting unbelievers make them believe.
- Because for those who have believed to increase confidence.
- Because you want to stop all illegal or right now.
- Because of the illegal or unborn can not arise.
- Because we want the Fa to exist for a long time.
For monks and nuns, the precepts are essential to achieving a pure monk and helping to develop the Sangha. The main commandment is the life force of the Sangha, and is a guideline for all Sangha activities.
The Sangha or Sangha is an organization of monks and nuns, in harmony, one of the three jewels that signifies the existence of the Buddha Dharma, who directly replaces the Buddha propagating Buddha artillery to benefit. people. Therefore, when in the Sangha they begin to have a mess, the purity in them is no longer complete, then the Buddha will make a precept to prevent the deception.
The growth of the Sangha is taking precepts as a foundation, a guideline.
In the spirit of "Depending on the arbitrary", Buddhist precepts mainly rely on the voluntary of monks and nuns without coercion. Practitioners will voluntarily obey the precepts strictly to fulfill the pure nature and build exemplary Sangha. Each practitioner himself, relying on the precepts to promote body and mind, eradicate and prevent akusala kamma. Thanks to that, body and mind are peaceful, virtue is increased, life is not defiled, mundane.
An individual keeps the precepts, and then each individual unites into a group of pure solemnity. This is the difference of the Buddhist Sangha from the organization of other assemblies.
However, the element that creates the harmony and harmony of the Buddha's disciples is basically the strict discipline. Because the precepts are the basic foundation to preserve and protect the world for a monk to study. A monk or nun does not keep the precepts, certainly cannot exist in the sangha.
Kinh Sang Chi III, Buddha said: "The sea never contains corpses. Also, if any Bhikkhu does not keep the pure conduct, the Sangha will not live with him, let's quickly gather him out. Even if he is sitting in the middle of the monk, he is also far from the monk, and the monk cannot protect him.
The Buddha taught: "Exalted Tathagata, made the Tathagata".
In today's society, due to the influence of the surrounding circumstances, the Sangha lacks good environments to nourish the virtuous life and preserve the mind. The monks and nuns are the essential decision for the success or failure of their monastic life. For renunciants, obeying the precepts is very necessary. Necessary for myself and necessary for the whole Sangha.
Without the precepts, each person will act in every way, say in each style, how to build an exemplary Sangha to propagate the Dharma to benefit sentient beings. And if they were. Disciples who do not strictly observe the precepts will never live in a solidarity like fish with water. Once there is no harmony, solidarity, the Sangha will be weakened, the collective dignity of the collective will no longer exist, sooner or later the Sangha organization will be disintegrated.

In the Buddhist Sutta, the Buddha said, "All of the pagan maids can not destroy our teachings, only our students will cause our teachings to be destroyed."
Therefore, the Buddha's teachings require individual efforts. The moral fulfillment of each individual will create dignity for the organization. Every monk and nun living in accordance with the Dharma and the Law will be an infinite source of energy for the growth of the Sangha. And once the Sangha has truly pure harmony, no force can overwhelm or destroy. Thanks to that Dharma, more and more strong and shine, endure.
In the Teaching of the Vow, it is mentioned:
“World is like a big light
Illuminate the dark night
About as a shining mirror
Clearly all dharma. ”
The Buddhist Sutras, before entering the Nirvana realm, the Buddha graciously taught: "Monks, after the Tathagata has passed away, you must respect and respect the pure precepts, like those who are blind in the dark. bright, poor but emerald. Know the pure precepts are the great masters of the masters. If Tathagata exists in life, it is no different from that of the pure world ”.
They must always impose their body and mind, uphold the discipline as their own breath.
Therefore, being a disciple of the Buddha who disregards the precepts will bring great sins to the Three Jewels. Because of the practical benefits for the practice as well as the strength of the Sangha, the Buddha graciously taught and presented the Dharma precepts. Those precepts, 250 precepts for monks, 348 precepts for them, spread over the years, still exist today.
If indifferent to the considerate teachings of the Buddhas, the Patriarchs, and the High Priest, they are likely to turn away from their ambitions. If they increase the monks and nuns disregard the Dharma Precepts, they will lead to the Dharma. As in the Buddhist Sutras, the Buddha said: "All of the pagan maids can not destroy our teachings, only our disciples will cause our teachings to be destroyed."
As a disciple of the Buddha, the Sangha must always conserve body and mind, uphold the discipline as his own breath. Must respect the rules because the rules are the circuit of Buddhism. The rule is still the Buddha's law, The rule of the Buddha is lost. The destiny of Buddhism is entirely up to the existence of the rules. That the precepts have existed for a long time to prosper for the Sangha, benefit the world or not is due to the Buddha himself, especially those who are considered to be "Thua Tathagata, practicing Tathagata whether or not "earnestly observing the precepts."
