XI. Legendary Buddha Buddha PADUMUTTARA.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
[ 190 ] The Dharma of Buddha Nārada continues to be developed for ninety thousand years[197] then disappear. And that lifetime also comes to an end. Then an A-ra-period life has no Buddha appears in this world, this is empty time without any aura of Buddhas exist. Then after many lifetimes and A-increase-period[198] After that, in this world, there was a Buddha named Padumutta in one life and one hundred thousand lives. Meru.[199] He has no more reincarnation, he is the most perfect human being, the most superior person than all beings in this world.[200]
When he completed the perfections, he was reborn in the world of the Tushita Heaven. President passed away from that realm, he had descended into the rebirth of Queen Sujātā[201] in the city called Haṃsavatī. The queen comes from a prestigious family[202] and the regent queen of a king named nanda[203], means the one who brings ultimate joy and joy[204] for beings. After ten months of pregnancy, she gave birth to Prince Padumuttara in Haṃsavat nơi. Strange things happened during the time of his birth in the mother's womb and on the day of his birth in this world as we have mentioned in the sections referring to the Buddhas of the above.[205] It is said that at the time of his birth there was a shower of lotus flowers falling from the sky. It was for this reason that on the day of naming his cousin he named him Prince Padumuttara.
He lived in the harem exactly ten thousand years. His three castles devoted to the three seasons of the year have the following names: Naravāhana, Yasavāhana. Vasavattī. There are more than one hundred and twenty thousand dancers serving the prince in the palace headed by Princess Vasudattā. After the son, is Prince Uttara[206] unrivaled[207] In all the gifts, given to him by Princess Vasudatta, after having witnessed the four phenomena, the Bodhisattva is thinking of making a Great Monk trip. As soon as he had such a thought, the Vasavattī castle soared into the air like a potter's wheel and flew in the sky like a house of gods and like the full moon falling to the ground. , similar to the castle we mentioned above in the Commentary on the Sobhita Buddha Chronicle,[208] a Bodhi tree grows in the middle. Beings and gossip among them is that the Great One has descended in that castle,[209] dressed in yellow robes, A-la-Han banners and banners given to him by the gods. He became a monk immediately. And when the castle had reached its prescribed place, it landed exactly where it was. Except for the women, the entire group of people who appeared with the Great Humanity were ordained. Together with these people, the Great Lord conducted an ascetic struggle for seven days. 2 After he received sweet milk rice, on the full moon day of Visakha do Rucinandā[210] dedicated to him, she was the daughter of a merchant in the city of Ujjenī. He spent a temporary stay in the forest of Sāla. In the afternoon he received eight bundles of hay offered to him by Sumitta, Sumitta was a naked hermit and he approached the Bodhi tree called the Salala tree.[211], going around the tree from the right, come close and spread hay bundles on a field of up to thirty-eight cubit. While he was meditating in the lotus meditation, he was determined to practice the four diligent limbs, he was able to overcome the Ma-king army along with the maya himself. He recalled the past lives during the first night watch, he achieved pure eyesight during the second night. Consistent consideration[212] Nhan Duyen state during the third watch and the fourth meditation through breathing out. He contemplated the five aggregates, seeing all fifty generals related to arising and passing. While increasing the meditation[213] in terms of cognition, he fully understood the special gifts of a Buddha Patriarch through the Holy Path.
[ 191 ] And he uttered the vulgar words to all Buddhas as follows:
"Through so many rebirths in samsara ...
I have attained the eradication of all craving."
I have attained the eradication of all craving."
Beings say: then there is a shower of lotus flowers pouring down as if to beautify the whole space where the ten thousand things of our world are. Therefore it is said that:
XI 1. After Nārada there is the Chief of the Enlightened One, the victorious One is Padumuttara, the supreme place of all people, as calm as the vast ocean.
2. Like the Maṇḍa life in which this Buddha was born, in this life a man with outstanding merit was also born.
1. Same as Maṇḍa kalpa means: A lifetime in which there are two[215] The Buddha appeared to be called the Maha lifetime . A great life has two characteristics[216]: real life is empty and real life is empty. In this case the Buddhas, themselves and for themselves, are reincarnations who cannot emerge in an empty life. That is why people call it an empty life because there are no human individuals including special virtues, an empty emptiness has five types: Sara life, Maṇḍa life, Vara life. , Saramaṇḍa great life, Bhaddha great life. In this case, there is a great life Sara is called by that name because of the appearance of an Enlightened One who creates the nature of those special gifts. Creating the nature of those special gifts in one life is empty of special gifts, without them. And in any of the two existences the world leaders appear we call the great Maaa. And in any of the three lifetimes there are three Buddhas appearing, the first Buddha to receive the second world protector, the second to receive the third. Thus, in this respect, people are very happy because each of them has created the desire to express the wish he has long expected,[217] that's why we call it the Vara great life. And in any of the four existences the Buddha appeared, we call it the Saramaṇḍa lifetime because it is more outstanding than the previous one. In any of the five existences appearing in the Buddha, we call it the great bhadda.[218] But this is very difficult to achieve. And in this kind of life, sentient beings are in principle very well off of kindness and happiness; According to the law, there are three causes and conditions.[219] these causes create and eliminate afflictions; those existences that have two causes[220] then go to leisure; If there is no causal cause then one will be conditioned. So this type of great kalpa is called Therefore it is said that "an empty real life has five characteristics." This is what the Presbyterians conveyed as follows:[221]
A Buddha appeared in the life of Sara; in Maiếpa lifetime there were two victors appearing; in the great life Vara three Buddha appeared; in Saramaṇḍa, there were four Buddhas appearing, and five Buddhas appeared in Bhadda - there are no more victories appearing than that.
But in Padumuttara's great life, the Tathagata Tathagata appeared. Even in the lifetime Sara. Thus, thanks to the attainment of special gifts, there is something that coincides with the Maṇḍa life and this is called the Maṇḍa life.
2. The word va (like) should be understood in the same sense.
2. Human means a lot of people.
When Buddha Padumuttara, the ultimate in the people[224], having spent seven days sitting cross-legged sitting near the Bodhi tree, he thought, "I will put one foot on the ground."
[ 192 ] And he stretched out his right leg, immediately the ground[225] split, and then there, whether there was water or not, emerged pistil and pure lotus mirrors, with a pure leaf burial spreading out above the water. Indeed, the lotus leaf extends to ninety cubit, the pistil spreads about thirty cubit, the lotus mirrors are about ten[226] cubit also pollen each level nine water pitchers. And the master was fifty-eight cubits, his arm spanning eighteen cubits, his forehead five cubits wide, and his limbs measuring eleven cubits each. If a lotus mirror measuring ten cubits could reach his eleven cubit long legs, the pollen would spread to a height of nine water jugs that would reach the height of the body of the guru's fifty-eight-bit bits. covering him as if with red solid clay powder. The Samyutta Sutta (Samyutta) have said: "It is for that reason that Guru Padunuttura is famous throughout the world." *
* ON ii. 80
Then, having accepted the Brahma's request to explain the Dhamma and contemplate the basis of sentient beings, Buddha Padumuttara, the supreme being of this whole world, saw that in Mithilā there were two kings. Prince, named Devala and Sujāta, has fulfilled all the highest gifts; At that moment, through an empty passage, the Buddha landed at Mithilā entertainment and asked the guard to park for the two princes. These two men said that our son, Prince Padumuttara, had become a monk and had attained the Samyaksambuddha, and set foot in our city. Now, we will come to see Padumuttara Buddha again. ” And then with the entourage the two men approached Buddha Padumuttara and they sat around him. Then the Blessed One, surrounded by him, shines like a full moon in the autumn, surrounded by a large group of stars, the Buddha Tathagata, who turned Zhuan Falun there. Then, a first-person insight into the Fa took place there, in the presence of about one hundred thousand and ten million beings.
Therefore it is said that:
XI 3. Even the first sermon of the Buddha Padumuttara took place, the thorough understanding of the dharma assembly to one hundred thousand ten million sentient beings exists.
Another time, at an encounter with the Taoist Sarada, when he was interpreting the Dharma to a crowd of sentient beings who were tortured by the Niraya Hell. He caused some thirty-seven hundred thousand people to taste the Dharma. This is the second insight into the Fa conference. Therefore it is said that:
XI 4. Following that, while the Buddha rained the Dharma to make sentient beings fresh, there was a second insight into the Fa conference, the number of attendees amounted to thirty-seven hundred thousand. .
And then the great nanda, along with twenty thousand beings and twenty thousand officials appeared in the city of Mithilā in the presence of Buddha Padumuttara, the Chief of the Enlightened One. And he made them all renunciate according to the slogan, "Good Lai Bhikkhu khưu", and surrounded Buddha
[ 193 ] When making perfect deeds for his father. Buddha remained in Haṃsavati, the capital of his father's reign. There, like our Buddha in the city of Kapila, he walked up and down the sky and preached on the Chronicle of the Buddhas. Then there was the Dharma reunion for the fifty thousand sentient beings gathered there. Therefore it is said that:
XI 5. At the time the Great Hero approached Nanda, when he went to see his father, Buddha Padumuttara tapped the drum immortally.
6. When immortal drums were sprung up and the Dharma rain poured down, a third round of Dharma persecution took place, about fifty thousand people were present.
5. In this case, while approaching[227] Meeting nanda means his father is known as the king of andananda.
Pats drum means to drum up.
Being tapped means that the drum has been drummed up.
6. When the immortal drum means when the drum is immortal[228] - Variety changes should be understood here. "Repeated diligence" is also an explanation. The meaning of this paragraph is that this has been repeated over and over.
Prove that the meaning of creating the Fa conference is saying:
XI 7. The Buddha, who is the preceptor, and the trainer, who helps sentient beings overcome the confession, is very skillful in the interpretation, he has created for so many people to overcome the confession.
7. In this case, the missionary means the preceptor in that field, he preaches with the interpretation of special gifts and the benefits of the Refuge. World, happy early momentum[230]
7. The trainer means the one who teaches the word, Enlightenment, in which He has taught the Four Noble Truths.
7. A helper to pass means a helper to overcome four confessions.
And when the face[231] he is as bright as the full moon[232], the master chanted the Precepts right in the Mithilā entertainment place, in the presence of one hundred thousand and ten million monks on the full moon day of Māgha. That was his first group (sangha). Therefore it is said that:
XI 8. Guru Padumuttara has gathered three groups of monks: the first group consists of one hundred thousand and ten million.
And when you've experienced the rainy season on the rocky mountain of Vebhara[233] The Buddha Buddha explained the teachings to the people to meet him. And he has allowed about ninety thousand and ten million renunciates under the slogan "Good hybrid Bhikkhu khưu" to be received[234] In the Sangha, he recited the Precepts surrounding him, who were ordained as monks. This is the second Sangha. Therefore it is said that:
XI 9. When the Buddha Patriarch, comparable to any wise man, dwelling on Mount Vebhara, a second sangha of ninety thousand and ten million people appeared.
[ 194 ] Again, when the Blessed One realized special gifts, the three guardians who were traveling in the countryside to liberate the masses from the slopes, immediately appeared a group of eight ten thousand and ten million bhikkhus. So it is said that:
XI 10. Again, when he set out to preach, there was a group of eighty thousand and ten thousand people gathered from villages, towns and cities.
10. In this case from villages, towns, and cities means "through villages, towns and cities"[235] Or this is just an explanation. The meaning is: for those who have left the refuge after leaving the villages, towns and cities.
It was the governor of a city called Jatika[236] With a wealth of immense wealth, our Bodhisattva organized a glorious giving of medicinal materials for the Sangha with the Buddha to be the leader. And take the opportunity[237] blessing the meal the Buddha also signed on him: "In the future, one hundred thousand more lives from now on, this person will become a Buddha-like Buddha Gautama" so there is an explanation that :
XI 11. At that time I was a chief governor of the city named Jatika[238] I gave alms and food to the Sangha with the Chief Enlightened One.
And then also[239] it was he who was meditating in the midst of that Sangha, that he signed: "one hundred thousand Great Lives from now on, this person will become a Buddha."
When he decided to make strides, he applied a very ascetic way of life .... "" ... In the distant future we will be facing this Buddha. "
When we have heard his voice, we have insisted on doing more practice and making an effort that requires much effort to complete the ten paramitas.
11. In this case for the Sangha with the Chief of Right Enlightenment.[240] means the Chief of the Enlightened One is the leader of the Sangha[241]; The opposite is understood here in a literal sense.
11. I have given alms and food means that I have provided food and ingredients to make ketchup.
14. Effort means that we try hard.
And in the time of Buddha Padumuttara there were no pagan groups. All the gods and sentient beings just go to Buddha to find refuge. Therefore it is said that:
XI 15. All pagan groups were extinguished, deranged and then depressed. No one took care of them and People threw them out of the city.
[ 195 ] 16. They all gathered here to meet the Buddha and said, "Great hero, you are our guardian. May you be where we depend. He agrees as well. "
17. With compassion, compassion for beings, seeking happiness for all sentient beings, he established all pagan groups gathered with the five precepts.
So do not interfere in and empty the pagan groups. It is only decorated with the Arahant, along with the steadfast people who have conquered.
15. In this case, Stamped out means that pride and pride are suppressed.
15. The pagan group ( Titthiyā) means that in this regard one should understand that this is a "shallow place to overcome". We should understand that the person "creates a shallow place" (titthakara). We should understand what "belongs to that shallow place" in this case when people say "here they have conquered (blessed) because of common beliefs, etc." and heresy beliefs are "shallow places". creating this heresy is the "creator of the shallow ground"[243] Those who participate in this heresy are the ones who create the pagan groups. But it is said that in the time of Buddha Padumuttara no pagan group existed. We should understand that words starting with the sects have been removed ”in order to show that even those who have advocated such things have been removed.[244]
15. Disturbed mind means the mind is disturbed
15. Depressed frustration is the synonym for the word.
15. No one takes care of them , meaning that there is no one who serves other people, no one gives food and respects them, no one stands up from their seats to applaud. pick them up.
15. Out of that city means even from the city itself where they are staying.
15. They throw out means to throw away, to turn away. The implication here is that they do not provide a place of residence for them.
15. They mean pagan groups.
16. Going to see the Buddha means that the people who live in the town come back to him. so even with the other sects, they gathered together. Simply going to take refuge in Padumuttara Buddha, the Tathagata Tathagata. The meaning here is that they rely on him after saying the following: "You are our guru, guardian, frontier, resting place, refuge."
17. He showed compassion which means kindness .
17. To show mercy means to show mercy.
17. Gathering means that the pagan groups are gathering together and going to the refuge thanks to him.
17. He established them with the five precepts, which means he caused them to maintain the Five Precepts.[245]
18. Not to interfere means not to interfere. Not getting along with others who are advocating heresy beliefs.
18. That means that what is left of the sentence is considered to be related to the "Dharma of the Buddha."
18. For those who have conquered means those who have attained superiority.
[ 196 ] The city of the Buddha was called Haṃsavatī, and his father, a Noble Slayer named nanda. His mother is a queen named Sujātā; Devala and Sujāta are two[248] male supreme silence of his office, attendant named Sumana him, Amita and Asama are two 4 supreme female silence of his office; His Bodhi tree is the ancient tree of Salata. His body was about fifty-eight cubit high and the radiant radiance in his body shone in all directions about twelve due to the week (yojana). His life span is about one hundred thousand years. His main wife is named Vasudattā. His son's name is Uttara. Padumuttara Buddha passed away by Níp of Table in Nanda Park and his relics were not scattered. The entire population, living in the Southern region of Jambudīpa, had gathered and built an altar of seven precious stones, twelve due to the week (yojana). So there is a word about this:
XI 19. Haṃsavatī is the name of your city of residence. nanda is the name of the Noble Truths, Sujātā the name of Padumuttara's mother Buddha, also the Great Hermit.
24. Devala[249] and Sujāta are the two supreme supernatural men, Sumana is the name of the attendant for Padumuttara. Is the Great Hermit.
25. Amitā and Asamā are the supreme female writers of his writing. The Bodhi tree's name of the Buddha is the Salala tree.[250]
This great sage has a body of about fifty eight ratanas. His thirty-two good generals are like an ornate pillar decorated with colorful garlands.
Within the twelve inner walls of the yojana, the gates, the walls, the trees on the mountainside cannot interfere with him, which means that he can move in there completely.
His normal life span is about one hundred thousand years. Living so long he created many beings to overcome the confession.
After creating the opportunity for the Dai to overcome the confession and cut off suspicion. He shined like a fire. Then passed away with his entourage.
28. An obstacle means creating conceals beyond it.
28. about twelve due to week (yojana) means the day and night aura of Buddha's body shines throughout the broad area about twelve due to week (yojana).
The remaining verses are clear in all means. From here on out. Recalculated the meanings that were continually happening from the beginning with the completion of the Paramitas. I will only proceed to talk about the remaining meanings. [ 197 ] Because if we keep repeating what we have said above and when will we be able to finish the Legend?
Here we conclude the Annotation of the Annals of the Buddha, Padumuttara
At the end of the Annotated Chronicle of Buddha Tenth Records. END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.2/4/2020.
