Sutta Ratana Sutta, Sutta Jewel.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
precious jewels, Ratana Sutta. In all religions there are many ways of addressing the greatness of the holy ones, the objects of reverence. Particularly in Buddhism does not use the word power, not the word reward and punishment, but the word Ratana or jewels. We know that the Dharma Sangha is the three jewels commonly known as the Three Jewels. Jewel not only gives us a sense of security, but if it is a real treasure, it will bring us many benefits in this life. Since ancient times, the eternal desire of mankind and of sentient beings is to seek eternal value, incomparable values.
For a practitioner, this is an important koan because among the thousands of choices, we must find one, two things that are of the highest value, we will wholeheartedly devote, devote your time and mind to those values. With a novice and the years after that, until the last eyes closed. Especially in the moment of death, near death, if we think about what we already know, what we have said, what we have done, what we have mastered. The things that we have owned and owned, such as money, status, fame, and so on, seem to be more noble than Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha? It is a koan, which is something we have to contemplate a lot.
This verse is preached by Buddha in a special charm. Venerable An-Nan-Da obeyed the Buddha, memorized this sutta, walked around the three rounds of Vesali, not only reciting but also bringing his mind to integrate how to feel the value of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha through 16 verses. A very beautiful point in the Tripitaka Pali as well as the Cat Tuong sutta. The Cat Tuong Sutta or the Sutra of the Omniscient Sutras appear to have a origin related to a devas, but that is not to say that myths lose the value of the Happiness Sutta. Also the story revolves around the charm of the Ratana or the Sutta, for many it is a myth but the content of the sutta is wonderful.
With 16 quotations, the Blessed One mentioned many different aspects of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. These aspects tell how the profound, noble and true values of the Dharma increase. Actually this is a subject we have to contemplate a lot, only when we really feel the value of Buddha is Buddha said, Dharma is Dharma, Sangha is Sangha. And we see that it's our refuge, that's what we have in this life. At that time, we find the supreme peace and really feel that we are not poor in this life.
The Sutta is about a content through which we can see the value of the Dharma Sangha. It is not just in the praise that the Buddha has stated why Buddha is Buddha said, why Dharma is Dharma, why Sangha is Sangha. We would like to read the words of this sutta. This is a very beautiful sutta and we hope that you have the opportunity to recite the sutta, especially on the occasion of the new year.

Blessings to Devas
This is the prologue and in this prologue, it is said that human beings are beings capable of creating blessings. If Chu Thien brings peace to humankind, humans create a blessing to dedicate to Chu Thien. In other words, Chu Thien is Thien Thien Thien Thien, ie Chu Thien is on nowhere or on this earth. They often rejoice with the merit and due to rejoice with the merit, they achieve the happiness of daily life. So if the gods protect the human race, humanity has many favorable conditions and blessings to create merit and virtue, and will dedicate to the gods.
The next verse is very beautiful,
Precious treasures in life
This or other places In
all the heavenly treasures
Nothing can be compared with the
Tathagata Tathagata
So the Buddha himself
Is this magical treasure
Wishes with this proverb
From the want to be happy.

Wishes with this proverb
From the want to be happy.
Each of us has many values to pursue in this life, which is love, career, property. Perhaps in some depth, we have a passion, an earnest, but whether after all, we have a conclusion. Concluding as the verse here, the jewels, the precious things in this life whether in Heaven or in the human realm, there is no treasure any more noble than Buddha. This is the first compliment. As we said at the beginning, it is a koan, a very important koan project for a person in the moment of his death, near death or in any case thinking and remembering, There is something more precious than all and deserves to be earnestly and deserve more than all. That is Buddha said.
Precious treasures in life

After the verse of praise to the Buddha, two verses of praise spread to the Dharma
Supreme immortal Dharma

Desires for this saying
From the end of life to happiness
The immortal Dharma here is referring to Nirvana, which makes people no longer crave, no longer fervent to life. The Buddha witnessed that Dharma in meditation and that the wonderful dharma is the essence of the Buddha's teaching. Therefore, the Dharma is the precious treasure. Because even in this life, even the pearls of manna can not satisfy human greed. Only the ultimate Dharma makes people no longer thirsty, no longer afflicted. It is the Dharma that has the function to eliminate and eliminate suffering. So the Dharma is the marvelous enmity.

We read here, another aspect in the third verse is also the second verse praising the Dharma. In this verse it is said that the path of purification of the mind or the path back to the inner, the inner conversion path, is the highest path. That path is presented by the Buddha through the Dharma.
The next discourse praises the Sangha, through which we see that the Buddha taught about the typical image of the Sangha is the attainment of the fruitful saints, the Eight Saints of four pairs. Eight of the people here say Preliminary, Second, Three, Four, Preliminary, Second result, Three results, Four results. The four pairs here are Tu-Da-Hường direct result, Tu-Da-Ham direct result A-Na-Ham direct result, A-La-Han direct result

The next four verses are also four verses praising the Grace of the Sangha, which will surprise some people, because the Buddha specifically taught and praised the qualities of enlightened beings, in particular. is the enlightened profile result.

Here the Buddha specifically refers to the fruitlessness of the mind, that is, the mind is not agitated before the eight worldly dharmas. He determined that only those who have the witness and the lofty values may not be moved by such outside influences.

The three successive verses are the three stanzas of the Tu-Da-Huong taste

Tier Tu-Da-Hường once went into the Holy line, reaching the Holy fruit, no matter how long they have reincarnated in the realm, it will not exceed eight lives. The reason why that is an interesting thing for us to learn.

This is the third stanza to talk about the other quality of the Saint.
The next two verses praise Buddha. In these two verses speak of a characteristic of the Buddha, that is, enlightenment of sentient beings by the teaching of the Dharma. In this life with an enlightened being on his own is a rare thing, but enlightening himself can build a Dharma house, and through that Dharma house can it benefit the people? it must be a generation that many generations probably have no one but Buddha.

Wishes with this proverb
From the want of happiness
This verse is taught by Buddha to Venerable Ananda in the context of our own country and our homeland. In books, it is often said that spring is the season when trees sprout. In fact in the tropical countries, according to the weather systems affect the environment, 15:20
As the rain early summer rain
Makes thousand trees sprout
As the rain early summer rain
Makes thousand trees sprout
Because spring is still the dry season until the rainy season begins. Every time it rains, all the trees sprout. The green color and the color of fine green leaves appear throughout the trees. We used to have days in Long Thanh, in the forest and sometimes in the garden to see that, every time the rain comes in early summer, the trees in the garden like long days of thirst. Now there is a downpour, strangely good trees. Show us the beautiful green of the leaves, very beautiful of the tree when it catches the first rain, so the rain of the beginning has a great meaning, when we describe the Dharma, meeting the hybrid of thirst expectation of beings in this life.

This verse says it all but what we can say about Buddha and Dharma. His self is an Anuttaro, an Supreme being. Not only that, but He is also the willow of the supreme Dharma. The supreme willow of the Dharma, whom he witnessed, mastered all the dharmas including the predestined predestined relationship, the deepest Dharma of this world.
The Infinite Dharma Prayer is his wonderful Dharma that has been spread to relatives in the family such as King Sanskrit, Mrs. Maha Basabade, to Rahula's children and to four classes of sentient beings from what class, from Chu Thien and mankind. Because He tasted the immortal taste and He gave that supreme Dharma.

It is not easy in this life that one can impart to another the profound values as in the case of Buddha. He taught the Dharma of goodness and goodness. It can be said that no one in this world is better than the Buddha in terms of transmitting, supreme Dharma doctrine.

Finally, in this sutta it is surprisingly returning, a verse of praise for the Grace of the Sangha.
As the past has

From the want to be happy
The previous two verses are two verses praising the Buddha as a being able to convey, able to proclaim the magic of the Dharma and this verse is a verse of the ability to receive the Dharma. As a sick person gets medicine, like a thirsty person gets water, like a person needs to get what he needs. These levels have eradicated negativity and samsara and with the mind of not hoping for this life and the next, he attains Nibbana as a lamp.
Finally, the last three verses talk about an invitation to the most Phi Phi people, Chu Chu, who have right view and who have power. Please feel the grace of Buddha, the grace of Dharma, the virtue of monks. Because of this feeling, please share in the joys and blessings for this world.

Buddha is the noble being prostrated by the gods and humankind. If you are on this earth or in the middle of nowhere, please take your mind in harmony with the devotion of the devas and humanity towards the noble one, that is Buddha. Similarly, when it comes to Buddha, it is impossible not to mention Dharma

The third verse, once again telling the value can be said that the incomparable value of the three values converging is the value of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha which we now call the Triple Gem.

The Buddha is a Tathagata, the Dharma is a path like the Truth, and the Sangha is a virtue like the Buddha. All of those values that exist in this life are very similar and consistent with the Dharma Sangha in the past and in the future. Why? The Dharma Sangha is not in the realm of everyday life but in true values. Therefore these values do not change at all over time. There are times when the Dharma Sangha is no longer known in this world, but once a Buddha is born, the Dharma is pronounced and the Sangha is formed, the form, content, personality, qualities of The Triple Gem, of the Buddhist Dharma Sangha, is still the same as in the past.
There is no sect of future Buddha Maitreya Buddha that contradicts against the sect of Shakyamuni Buddha. There is no Dharma taught by Buddha in the past, which is contrary to the Dharma of Buddha in the present statement, and so are the Sangha. Therefore, please Gods and humankind, please join your mind to merge with the thoughts of gods and other humanity to pay homage to the Buddha as Tathagata, to worship the Dharma as Truth, and to increase the Virtue as Virtue. Pray for that noble homage to be the predestined predestination to transform the sufferings that beings are experiencing in this life.
