I. Faithful Dharma.
All Buddhists have been studying Buddhism for a long time but have they seen the Dharma leg yet? If you study the Buddha-dharma in the style of flipping one page after another, or chewing on every word of these Patriarchs to those Patriarchs, or if you hear this lecture to the other lectures, do you see your feet? Dhamma? But if you don't see, listen to the lecture to do it? So this must be remembered: explanation is only about dharma!
You remember that well, the teacher, whether or not it is just about the dharma, the dharma foot is not in those teachings but it is in daily life or immediately in one's mind. Therefore, if you only cling to those teachings, you will not be able to see it, but here you must be skillful to pass through the teachings, to listen to yourself again and again to see the truth of the dharma. ! You look back at your body now, how is it compared to your childhood? Going into reality, newly born I have a few kilos but now up to a few dozen kilograms, that's the law! Next, the place you sit here before is the seat of the monks and nuns, not the place where you sit. So why do I sit here now? It is also seeing the dharma, not that I see in the word meaning. Then this session is now gathering so much, but what about after eleven o'clock? Seeing that is the dharma. Thus, dharma exists everywhere in everyday life, it is true that it is true.
Then how do you go on the road or go out to the garden and suddenly kick the hemp? That is the Dharma, but if you don't see the dharma, it hurts! When I opened my eyes, why did I cry "oa" for a few hours? Seeing that is seeing the dharma. Why does my head ache so badly this day, but I don't want him to have a headache. It is seeing dharma, that is, seeing it is impermanent, suffering and non-self. If he learns so, he will see the true dharma (the dharma teaching), if I look at this kind of thing, I will always see the dharma everywhere, not just in the lecture or on the Buddha's reading table. But if you see the dharma that exists all over the place, then it will definitely be less afflicting, because you are worried about the dharma, you don't have any trouble, and you only worry about defilements so you don't see the dharma. This method is not hard to find in books and not to wait for class, but it is right here in everyday life. So, learning is to let me see the true dharma, not just the words that I mean. A-chan Chah (a Thai Zen master) occasionally visited ancient temples, when he came to some relics, found it broken or cracked, one of the followers complained:
- It's a pity!
That is, these temples were once magnificent, beautiful and magnificent, but now they are broken and cracked like that.
Hearing that, he said:
- If there is no collapse, there is no Buddha and no dharma.
That is, it breaks down like that because it fits perfectly with the Buddha's teachings: "The compounded dharma is impermanent", thus it is the Buddha, the Dharma. If it is forever, then Buddha says compounded things are impermanent is not appropriate? Thus, right away, he clearly saw the dharma, and those who looked at the world when they saw it broke down were sad: "In the old days, it was beautiful but now it is not the same!" For example, going to visit the ancient relics, if I look at the worldly eyes, I will be bored because there is nothing to visit, now it is ruined, only the old ones are left! But if you are smart, you will see the dharma in it, then you will find it valuable and meaningful. As well as in Kim Cang, opening the business:
"At mealtime, Buddha covered the bowl with a bowl and went to Xá-qifu gangui. When the alms is done, the Buddha returns to real life and then places the bowl, washes the feet, and sits on the seat. Tu-Bodhi elders saw that and complained: "The White World, it is so rare! Tathagata cleverly recited for the Bodhisattva, cleverly wished for the Bodhisattva ".
As an ordinary person, just seeing the Buddha go begging for food and then going to eat rice is there anything that is a blessing, what is there? But here the elder Tu-bodhi sees the dharma that exists in it, the light of Kim Cang Bat-elegant always shines. I learned to study deeply in that place, right in those normal gestures. Buddha is always feeling unconscious, so in every gesture His action always shows the light of enlightenment. The person who sees the dharma must always see that light. Although Buddha has not said anything, the light of the Kim Cang Bat-elegant also shows up in it, seeing it so that the Tu-bodhi Buddha praises. It is true that there are few, few people see it, that is the place where Buddha recited, that is the place where the Buddha wished for the Bodhisattvas to always live like that. Seeing so is a union with Buddha, Study Buddha must see to the foot of such dharma, then it is skillful to learn. In the past, I had read a couple of documents studying the Chinese Dharma, and there was a document that said: "It is said that the Sutra of Sutra is a high sutra, the Mahayana Sutra, but how to read in it is like reading a novel: long. long time telling this story, telling the story for a long time, the history of the past, etc ... not seeing anything good! ”. It is the same as the Bach An Zen master, when he was young, he read the Dharma Flowers and saw nothing special. But after a period of practice, wisdom was bright, he reread the Dharma Lotus, then suddenly realized that there were deep meanings in it that in the past I did not see. This is the same, if you look at the world eyes and read the Dharma of the United States, you will not see anything good: As Buddha tells the story of the Da Bao Buddha in the past and then the Buddha appears etc. ... like in a novel! It is not seeing the dharma, but here I have to do so through the meaning of the word but see the true meaning (the Dharma) and not just stop on it. Zen family has the sentence: "Do not enter tiger cave how to catch the tiger tiger ?!", just outside of discussing how much is not how to catch it all! Even if the theory of super-way is too much, it is just saying how to play, I have to dare to enter there to catch the tiger, I have to have a jump, I have to get involved! That is the reality for me to live the Buddha's teachings. I have to dare to enter there to catch a tiger, I have to have a jump, I have to get involved! That is the reality for me to live the Buddha's teachings. I have to dare to enter there to catch a tiger, I have to have a jump, I have to get involved! That is the reality for me to live the Buddha's teachings.
There is a story in the Buddha's time, Elder Pothila informed of the Tripitaka during the seven Buddhas and often recited the teachings for a group of five hundred monks, but he did not yet attest. One day, the Buddha said to himself, "If I have the opportunity, I will encourage this elder to stop smuggling or." Since then, whenever he came to the Buddha, he would often call, "Come here, Pothila empty!" Or "Hello, Mr. Pothila is empty!". At the same time, Buddha said, "Sit down, Pothila is empty!" Or "Go out, Pothila is empty!" Even when the Elder had gone out, the Buddha also said, "Pothila is empty already!". If I were to say that, it would be very narcissistic: "I am the big teacher and the Buddha called" the hollow teacher "and lost face to the disciples!". But if you love yourself like that, you probably won't see the Dharma's feet! But with the elder Pothila, hearing the Buddha behave like that, he thought to himself: "It must be that the Buddha reminds me not to develop righteousness", that is, he only understands on writing but has not yet realized in right concentration. Therefore, he decided to go to the forest to meditate. That afternoon, he arranged the bowl. Waiting for the evening sky to be good, the faithful went to listen to the dharma, he went into the group to let the monks not notice and went to a forest. In this place there were thirty monks and nuns who were hermit, he went to the Chief they said: he went into the group to let the monks not notice and went to a forest. In this place there were thirty monks and nuns who were hermit, he went to the Chief they said: he went into the group to let the monks not notice and went to a forest. In this place there were thirty monks and nuns who were hermit, he went to the Chief they said:
- May the Elder teach me!
He said:
- False religion! He is a teacher, we have to learn from Him too. Why did He say that?
Mr. Pothila is still humble:
- Dear Sir! Please don't refuse, please teach me!
In fact, all these thirty monks and nuns are already A-la-Han witnesses, but this First Elder thinks: "This bhikkhu is a wide learner, but if he learns, he will surely have arrogance. We should use that arrogant means of abatement to let it down, then it will be learned. ”
If you are arrogant, "I am a great teacher, know a lot", then the Head of the sermon is as usual as how to no more!
He pushed through the other, the first pushed down the second position:
- He comes to the other, he will show.
He said:
- He met the other, he will show.
Just like that until the last person, the seven-year-old Sa-di, was sitting and mending! At this point, the pride of this Elder also subsided! It was true that Mr. Pothila had a genuine religious mind, so he still came to the Sa-di and respectfully joined his hands:
- Venerable, ask Venerable to teach me!
This position immediately replied:
- Oh, professor! He said something strange! He is more than me both in age and education, I have to study with Him too!
But Mr. Pothila is still very modest:
- Great virtue, please don't refuse, please teach me!
This novice said:
- Dear fake Religion, if you are patient, I will show you.
Mr. Pothila replied:
- I will be patient, if you tell me to jump into the fire, I will dance too!
You see, an elder is a seven-year-old Sa-di who is so modest. It is true that He deserves us to bow, now it is difficult to find such a position.
Hearing that, the Sa-di immediately tried! He pointed to a pond that was not far away and said:
- So, you should jump into this pond to keep your clothes on!
This Mr. Pothila went over and jumped into the pond! Y's shirt was wet all the time, the Sa-di saw it immediately and said:
- Well, come here!
After this elder came, the new novice said:
- Hey fake Religion! Suppose there is a cave with six doors, there is a gecko coming into that cave. The person who wants to catch him must have the other five doors only one door left, and he will catch the gecko. Thus, he should close all five bases and concentrate on the mind.
That is, my mind runs wildly in the six bases, I cannot concentrate, but now I have to close all five bases and focus on the mind. If you are an ordinary person, you will not have a deep understanding when you hear it, but for Elder Pothila, who is both intelligent and wise, he is also a sermon master so he heard that he grasped the problem, he immediately to speak:
- That's enough, Venerable, You don't need to say more.
On the spot, he concentrated his thoughts on his body and began to meditate. Buddha knew that so he appeared in front of him, reading the verse:
Practicing wisdom
meditation gives up the meditation of wisdom.
Know the two-way path
.
Make yourself an effort to
promote intellectual growth.
meditation gives up the meditation of wisdom.
Know the two-way path
.
Make yourself an effort to
promote intellectual growth.
Last shelf just finished, Chief Elder instant A-la-Han.
It is to awaken yourself. Initially, Pothila understood the doctrine but did not realize it, the Buddha wanted to wake up and say: "Pothila is empty", which only understands the doctrine but has not yet realized within. But here, he is truly a person who has the mind to study the religion, so when he hears the Buddha say so, he knows and awakens, so he is ready to give up to go to the forest to practice meditation, and is also willing to eliminate the self, so that the Sa-di Only seven years old but dare to lower me, so witnessing so quickly. So, I need to be good at practicing to really reach the dharma and legal witness, which is the mirror that reminds me to go forward. In Zen's home, Mr. Lin Yi mentioned in them:
- "What is dharma? The Dharma is the Dharma mind, but the Dharma mind is not shaped, is transparent to all ten directions, and is used right before the eyes. Believers have no time to receive the name of the owl, in order to reflect on the true Buddha-dharma away from heaven and earth! ”
That is, the smart people get that mind, that is the true place. But "believers who have no time will immediately receive the name of the owl", who is unwise to follow the nouns and words, then in it that wants to reflect on the Dharma is really far away!
He added:
- "Great virtue! He did not accept the shirt, he did not know how to move. It is the person who wears the shirt, has the "pure" shirt, the "unborn" shirt, the "Bodhi" shirt, the "Nirvana" shirt, and the "Patriarch" shirt, "Buddha" shirt.
That is, he reminds himself not to receive the garment but to see the person who wears the garment, that is the essential, and the words "pure", "liberated", "Bodhi", "Nirvana" , "Patriarch", "Buddha" are just some clothes! But often, people who study Buddha are often stuck on shirts, those are just nouns, they know what enlightenment is! Real birth, or Bodhi, or true Nirvana is not in those names, but the unskillful people go on learning on those names and analyze how to split: "Bodhi", How "Nirvana" is, "How", "Buddha" is like, then "pure" how ... Just analyze long and long on those names, but don't see Bodhi Where is it! If all these names are removed, where is Bodhi and Nirvana? How to show? Mr. Bang Uan has a verse:

He said that reading the sutras needs to penetrate meaning, but to understand the meaning is to know spiritual practice. So if you take refuge in the meaning to learn deeply, to pass through nouns, then you can enter into Nirvana.
Read the scriptures do not understand meaning
Seeing much is not equal to blindness.

That is to follow the letter, embrace many land but in the mind does not worry plowing, ie not worrying anything, then:
The area of the field is grass,
where is the rice growing?
where is the rice growing?
That is, my mind does not worry about plowing, so that wild grass grows in it, where to find rice? Where does the rice grow? That to say that studying without practicing, the mind is full of afflictions, as well as the field full of wild grass, where does enlightenment come from? It is to awaken the people who study religion to learn so that it is true to the meaning of studying, must penetrate the words and see the dharma, then it is good.
