What are the Four Noble Truths? It is because of not being enlightened, bhikkhus, If we don't understand the Noble Truth of Suffering, we have to go through samsara for many years, you and I. Monks, it is because of not being enlightened and not understanding the Noble Truth of Suffering that we have to go through samsara for many years, you and I. It is because, bhikkhus, that we are not enlightened and do not understand the Noble Truth of Suffering and Cessation of Suffering that we have to go through samsara for many years, you and I. It is because, bhikkhus, that we are not enlightened and do not understand the Noble Truth of Suffering, the Cessation of Suffering, that we have to go through samsara for many years, you and I. This Male-stilts when this Noble Truth of Suffering is enlightened, understood; when this Noble Truth of Suffering is enlightened, understood; when this Noble Truth of Suffering Cessation is enlightened, understood; when this Noble Truth of Suffering is enlightened, understood, craving for existence is eradicated, the leading to a life is cut off, now no longer a descendant. 3. World Religion like that. Thien The further added: - Because of not seeing the Four Noble Truths as they really are, there is a long-term rotation in many lives. When these truths are realized, the cause of another life is eliminated; when the root of suffering is eliminated, there is no more life. 4. During the time the World Honored One was in Kotigama, this Dharma talk was taught to us Male-stilts: - This is World, this is Concentration, this is Wisdom. Hey Ananda, it's not surprising that human problems have to die. But every time someone with death comes to ask the Tathagata about this matter in Ananda's time, thus disturbing the Tathagata. Therefore, Ananda, I will teach the Dharma (Mirror of Dharma) so that the noble disciple, after attaining this Dharma meaning, will, if he chooses, declare himself thus: "For me, there will be no more hells. , will no longer be reborn in the realm of the animal, the hungry ghost, the lower realm, the evil beast. When the World Honored One was in Nàdika, this Dharma talk was taught to us Male-stilts: - This is the Precepts, this is Concentration, this is Concentration together with Precepts will lead to great results, great benefits. Wisdom together with Concentration will lead to great results and great benefits. Mind and wisdom will lead to complete liberation from all contraband or contraband. . illegal ignorance. 11. Then the World-Honored One, after staying at Nàdika until he considered it enough, immediately told the venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, let's go to Vesàli. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, together with a large assembly of bhikkhus, went to Vasali. Here, the Blessed One was staying in the garden of Ambapali. 12. The World-Honored One told the Male-stilts: - Hey, the Male-stilts, you must live in mindfulness, awareness. That is My teaching to you. What, monks, is a bhikkhu who abides mindfully? Monks, a bhikkhu, with respect to the body, contemplating the body, exerting himself, fully aware, and mindfully subduing all craving, sorrow and lamentation in the world, towards sensations... with regard to the mind... for the dharmas, contemplating the dhammas, diligence, awareness, mindfulness, and subduing all cravings and sorrows in the world. This, monks, is called mindfulness. 13. What, monks, is an awakened bhikkhu? The Male-stilts, here the Male-stilts are aware when going forward, back and forth, aware when looking forward, looking back; be aware when bending, stretching, aware when wearing sanghati (sanghati) carrying bowl, wearing robe, alert when eating, when drinking, when chewing, when tasting, alert when defecation, urinating ; be alert when walking; when standing, when sitting, when lying down, when awake, when talking, when silent. Thus, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu lives mindfully. Monks, a bhikkhu must live mindfully, mindfully and fully awake. That is My teaching to you. 14. At that time, the prostitute Ambapali heard: "The Blessed One came to Vesàli and stayed in my mango garden". The prostitute Ambapali immediately won the victory chariots, climbed into one, together with the victorious carriages, departed from Vesàli and went to the mango grove. She rode until she could ride, then got off the bus and walked to the place of the Blessed One, when he arrived, he immediately bowed to him and sat down to one side, the Blessed One preached the Dharma to the prostitute Ambapali who was sitting on one side, teaching, encouraging, inspiring, and making the mind happy. happy. After being taught, encouraged, excited, and joyful by the Blessed One, Ambapali immediately said to the Blessed One: - World-Honored One, I hope that the Blessed One will accept our invitation tomorrow to have dinner with us. - stilts. The Blessed One silently accepted. The prostitute Ambapali learned that the Blessed One had accepted, stood up from his seat, bowed to him, turned his right body towards the Buddha and said goodbye. 15. The Licchavi in Vesàli heard: "The Blessed One came to Vesàli and is in the Ambapāli garden", immediately ordered the winning vehicles to climb into the vehicle and then departed from Vesàli with those vehicles. There are all-green Licchavis, blue in color, wearing blue cloth, wearing blue jewelry. There are Licchavis all gold, yellow in color, wearing yellow cloth, wearing yellow jewelry. There are Licchavis who are all red, red in color, wearing red cloth, and wearing red jewelry. There are all-white Licchavis, white in color, wearing white cloth, and wearing white jewelry. 16. The Licchavis said to the prostitute Ambapali: - Hey Ambapali, why did she hit the car with the young Licchavis, the axle against the axle, the wheel with the wheel, the frame with the frame? "My dear son, I have just invited the Blessed One and a group of monks to come to dinner tomorrow. "Ambapali, give us that meal in exchange for a hundred thousand." - Even if you give me the whole city of Vesali and its dependent lands, I will not give up this important meal. These Licchavis snapped their fingers angrily and said: - We have been defeated by this mango girl! We are smitten by this mango girl. And these Licchavis went together to the Ambapali garden. 17. The Blessed One, seeing the Licchavis from afar, immediately said to the Male-stilts: "If there are any Male-stilts who have not seen the Devas in the Thirty-Three Heavens, look at them Licchavi, look at them. them Licchavi. Hey, the Male-stilts we Licchavi are like us Thirty-three heavens." 18. Those Licchavis rode until they could ride, then got off the car and walked to the place of the Blessed One. When they arrived, they immediately bowed down to him and sat down to one side. The Blessed One preached the Dharma to the Licchavis sitting to one side, teaching, encouraging, make the mind happy, make the mind happy. These Licchavis snapped their fingers angrily and said, "We've been defeated by this mango maiden! We've been beaten by this mango girl..." Then these Licchavis, joyfully applauding the words. taught the Blessed One to rise from his seat, pay homage to him, turn his right body towards the Buddha, and bid him farewell. 19. At that time, the prostitute Ambapali, after the night of the soup ended, immediately prepared in her garden the hard and soft delicious dishes and informed the Blessed One: "World Honored One, the time has come, the rice is ready. ready". In the morning, the Blessed One put on his robes, took his bowl and robe, and went with a group of bhikkhus to the dormitory of the prostitute Ambapali, and after arriving he sat down at the seat prepared. Then the prostitute Ambapali personally invited the group of bhikkhus with the Buddha as the superior, eating hard and soft foods. When the Blessed One had finished eating, his hand removed from the bowl, the prostitute Ambapali took another low chair and sat down to one side. After sitting down to one side, the prostitute Ambapali said to the Blessed One: "Venerable Sir, I would like to offer this garden to a group of bhikkhus with the Buddha as the superior." The Blessed One received the garden. The Blessed One preached the Dharma to the prostitute Ambapali, encouraged, excited, and delighted the mind, then got up and left. 20. During the time the World Honored One was in Vesali, this Dharma talk was taught to us Male-stilts: - This is Precepts, this is Concentration, this is Wisdom. Concentration together with precepts will lead to great fruition, Great benefit. Wisdom together with concentration will lead to great results, great benefits. Mindfulness practice with Tue will lead to complete liberation of smuggled items, ie smuggled sex, smuggled knowledge (trafficked view), smuggled ignorance. 21. Then the Blessed One, after staying in Vesàli until he considered it enough, immediately told the venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, let's go to the village of Baluva. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, together with a large assembly of bhikkhus, went to the village of Baluva. And the Blessed One resided in this village. 22. The Blessed One said to the Male-stilts: - Hey, monks, please settle down in the rainy season around Vesàli where there are familiar and close friends. And I will settle down here, in the village of Baluva. - Please, Venerable Sir! These bhikkhus obeyed the Blessed One and sought refuge in the rainy season around Vesāli, where there were close friends and relatives. The Blessed One lived in the village of Baluva. 23. While the Blessed One was residing in the rainy season, a serious illness arose, very painful, almost to death. But the World-Honored One kept his mind mindful and alert, and endured that pain without complaining. The World-Honored One thought to himself, "It would be unreasonable for me to pass away without saying a word to my disciples who serve me, without saying goodbye to them, bhikkhus. So let's make an effort to subdue this illness, only maintain the basis of life and continue to live". And the Blessed One, with diligence, subdued that illness, maintaining the life-sense. 24. Then the Blessed One healed. Not long after being healed, the Buddha left the vihara and sat on a chair prepared in the shade of the vihara. At that time the venerable Ananda came to the Blessed One, bowed down to him, and sat down to one side. After sitting down to one side, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: - World-Honored One, I see that the Blessed One is healthy. White World Honored One, I see the Blessed One being patient, World Honored One, seeing the Blessed One is sick, my body feels weak like a reed, my eyes are blurred and I can't see clearly, although, World Honored One, I have a little peace of mind. comforted that, the World-Honored One would not have passed away, if he had not yet had the word to teach them back to the Male-stilts. 25. Hey Ananda, what else do Male-stilts expect from me! I have taught the Dharma, Ananda, without distinction between the inside and the outside, for, Ananda, the Tathagata has never been a teacher with a hand in his hand, Ananda. some tantras not yet taught). Hey Ananda, those who think: "The Tathagata is the leader of the Male-stilts"; or "the group of monks under the teachings of the Tathagata" this time Ananda, that person will have a word of instruction for the group of monks. Ananda, the Tathagata does not think: "I am the head of the Order of bhikkhus; or" relying on oneself, relying on nothing else, using the Dharma as a lamp, using the Dharma as a refuge, relying on nothing else? This Ananda, in the world, the Male-stilts, for the body contemplation of the body, effort, awareness, mindfulness, subduing all craving, grief in the world; for the feelings... for the mind... for the dharmas, contemplation of the dharmas, diligence, awareness, mindfulness, subduing all cravings and sorrows in the world. Thus, Ananda, a bhikkhu is a lamp to himself, relies on himself, relies on nothing else, uses the Dhamma as a lamp, uses the Dhamma as a refuge, does not take refuge something else. Ananda, those who, after my extinction, are themselves a lamp, rely on themselves, rely on nothing else, use the Dharma as a lamp, use the Dharma as their refuge, Without relying on any other dharma, such people, Ananda, are the best among my bhikkhus, if they are eager to learn. Chanting product III 1. Then in the morning, the Blessed One put on his robes, brought his bowl and robe, and entered Vesàli for alms. After begging for alms in Vesàli, finished eating and on the way back, he said to the venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, take the seat. I want to go to the shrine of Capala, for a lunch break. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One, took his seat and followed behind the Blessed One. 2. The Blessed One went to the Capala shrine, and when he arrived, he sat on the prepared seat. Venerable Ananda bowed down to the Blessed One and sat down to one side. The Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda, who was sitting to one side: - Ananda, lovely instead of Vesali, lovely instead of Udena, lovely instead of Gotamaka, lovely instead of Sàttambaka, lovely instead of Bahuputta, lovely instead of the temple of Sàrandada, and lovely instead of the shrine of Capala. 3. Hey Ananda, those who have cultivated the four divine powers, practiced many times, are very adept, sure, very stable, skillful, skillful, then if they want to, they can live up to a life or part of a lifetime. remaining. Now, Ananda, the Tathagata has cultivated the four divine powers, practiced it many times, is very adept, very sure, very stable, skillful, and skillful. Ananda, if the Tathagata wants to live, he can live for one life or the rest of his life. 4. But Venerable Ananda could not understand the hint too clearly, the appearance too clear of the Blessed One; The venerable one did not ask the Blessed One: "World Honored One, the Blessed One, please stay until the end of life. Good Lord, please stay for the whole life for the benefit of living beings, for the happiness of sentient beings, for the sake of compassion and thought. for life, for the sake, for happiness, for the well-being of Gods and humans." Because the false mind was possessed by Mara 5. The second time the World Honored One... the third time the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda: - Hey, Ananda, it's lovely instead of Vesàli lovely instead of Udena, lovely instead of Gotamaka, lovely instead of Sattambaka, lovely instead of Bahuputta, lovely instead of Sàrandada, lovely instead of Capala!" Those who, Ananda, have cultivated the four divine powers, practiced many times, are very adept, sure, steadfast, skillful, skillful, then, if they wish, can live for one life or the rest of their lives. again. Now, Ananda, the Tathagata has cultivated the four divine powers, practiced it many times, is very adept, very sure, very stable, skillful, and skillful. Ananda, if the Tathagata wishes to live, he can live for one life or the rest of his life. But the venerable Ananda could not perceive the hint too clearly, the appearance of the Blessed One was too obvious, the venerable one did not ask the Blessed One: "Venerable One, the Blessed One, please stay for the whole life, the Good One, please stay for the whole life, for the sake of sentient beings, for the happiness of sentient beings, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for happiness, for the welfare of gods and humans." Because the venerable's mind is possessed by the Devil. 6. Then the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda: - Hey, Ananda, go and do what you think is the right time. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One, got up from his seat, bowed to him, turned his right body towards the Blessed One and went out. 7. The venerable Ananda went out not long ago, the Evil One immediately came to the Blessed One, when he finished, he stood on one side. After standing to one side, the Evil One spoke to the Blessed One. - World-Honored One, now the World-Honored One is to perish, the Good One is to perish. World-Honored One, the time has come for the World-Honored One to pass away. Lord, this is what the Blessed One said: "Devil, I will not perish until my bhikkhus have become true, wise, disciplined, ready disciples, multicultural, upholding the Dharma, achieving the Dharma and following the Dharma, living righteously, living according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, have not yet been able to declare, explain, present, determine, enlighten, analyze, and explain clearly the Dharma, when a wrong path arises, it is not possible to question and subdue it skillfully, and it has not yet been able to propagate the miraculous Dharma." 8. The Blessed One, now the Male-stilts of the Blessed One, have become true disciples, wise, disciplined, ready, multi-literate, maintaining the Dharma and depending on the Dharma, living righteously, living according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, was able to declare, expound, present, determine, clarify, clearly analyze and explain the Dharma, when a wrong path arose, he was able to question and subdue it skillfully, and was able to propagate the miraculous Dharma. Thus, now World-Honored One, let's go to extinction, Good Lord, let's go to extinction. World-Honored One, the time has come for the Blessed One to pass away! Venerable Sir, this is what the Blessed One said: "Devil, I will not perish until my bhikkhunis and nuns have become true, wise, and disciplined disciples... until My male lay followers have not become righteous, wise, disciplined, ready, multi-literate disciples upholding the Dharma, achieving the Dharma and following it, living righteously, living rightly After studying the Dhamma, it is not yet possible to declare, expound, expound, define, clarify, separate, and clearly explain the Dharma; when the wrong path arises, Multiculturalism, maintenance, Dharma, achievement of the Dharma and custom, living righteously, living according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, have not been able to declare, explain, present, determine, and enlighten , analyze, and clearly explain the Dharma; when a wrong way arose, not yet able to question and subdue skillfully, yet miraculously propagate the Dharma.” World-Honored One, now the female lay followers of the World-Honored One have become saints. a true disciple, wise, disciplined, ready, multi-literate, upholds the Dharma, accomplishes the Dharma and follows it, lives righteously, lives according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, one can declare proclaimed, expounded, expounded, determined, clarified, dissected, and clearly explained the Dharma; when a false path arose, he was able to skillfully question and subdue it, able to propagate it. Magical Dharma. Thus, now the World-Honored One shall perish, the Good One shall perish. World-Honored One, the time has come for the World-Honored One to pass away. Venerable sir, this is what the Blessed One said: "Devil, I will not perish until the holy life I teach has not been accomplished, prospered, disseminated, propagated, and pervaded, that is, well taught. teach mankind". World-Honored One, now the holy life taught by the Blessed One has been accomplished, prospered, popularized, popularized, and perfected, that is, well taught to mankind. Thus, now the World-Honored One shall perish, the Good One shall perish. Now, the World-Honored One has come to the time of the Buddha's extinction. 9. When being told so, the Blessed One said to the Evil One: "Evil, rest assured, soon the Tathagata will perish. After three months from today, the Tathagata will perish." 10. And at the Capala shrine, the Blessed One was mindful, aware, giving up life and practice (not maintaining his life any longer). When the Blessed One gave up, unable to sustain his life any longer, the earth-shattering, terrifying times, hairs stood up, thunder resounded. The World-Honored One understood the significance of that event, and immediately uttered the following emotional verse: Life is limited or infinite, monks give up, do not last. The mind is exclusively focused on meditation. Like taking off the armor you're wearing. 11. At that time, the venerable Ananda thought: "It's wonderful! It's very rare! The great earthquake, the great earthquake, the horror, the hair standing up and the thunder resounding. What, for what predestined reason, such a great earthquake?". 12. Then the venerable Ananda came to the Blessed One, bowed to him and sat down to one side. When he sat down to one side, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: - World-Honored One, it is wonderful! White World Religion is really rare! Great earthquakes, great earthquakes like this, terrible, hair stood on end and thunder rang out. World-Honored One, what is the cause, what is the cause, for such a great earthquake? 13. - Hey Ananda, there are eight causes, there are eight conditions that cause great earthquakes. What is eight? This great earth, Ananda, is established on water, water on wind and wind in space. When the wind arose, Ananda, the great wind blew up the waves, and when the water swelled, the earth trembled. That is the first cause, the first condition, the great earthquake. 14. Again, Ananda, there is a Sa-Mon or a Brahmin who has magical powers, the mind is tamed, or the gods have great supernatural powers, have great power; these people contemplating the limited earth-nature, contemplating the immeasurable water-nature, they can make this earth vibrate and move strongly. That is the second cause, the second condition that causes the great earthquake to shake. 15. Again, Ananda, when the Bodhisatta in the Tusita realm (Where is it) renounced the body, being mindful, awakening, entering the womb, then this earth vibrates, moves, shakes violently. That is the third cause, the third condition that causes the great earthquake to shake. 16. Again, this Ananda, when the Bodhisattva, mindful, aware, comes out of the womb, then this earth vibrates, moves, shakes strongly. That is the fourth cause, the fourth condition that causes the great earthquake to shake. 17. Again, this Ananda, when the Tathagata realized unsurpassed Right Enlightenment, then the earth vibrated, moved, and shook strongly. That is the fifth cause, the fifth condition that causes great earthquakes. 18. Again, Ananda, when the Tathagata turns the wheel of Dharma, then the earth vibrates, moves, shakes strongly. That is the second cause, the second condition, causing the great earthquake. 19. Again, Ananda, when the Tathagata, mindful, aware, relinquished, does not maintain life, then this earth vibrates, moves, strong tremors. It is the seventh cause, the seventh condition, that causes the great earth to shake. 20. Again, this Ananda, when the Tathagata entered the remainder of Nirvana, then this earth vibrated, moved, and shook strongly. That is the eighth cause, the eighth condition, causing the great earth to shake. Because of these eight causes, these eight conditions, Ananda, causes the great earth to shake. 21. Hey Ananda, there are eight of them. What is eight? The Sacrifices, the Brahmins, the Lay people, the recluses, the Four Heavenly Kings, the Thirty-three Gods, the Maras, the Brahmas. 22. Hey Ananda, I remember I've been to them over a hundred times. Here before I sit, before I speak, and before the conversation begins, just like the color of the Ksādhārthas, so is the appearance of mine; as their voice is, so is My voice. And with the Dharma talk, I teach, encourage, make the mind happy, make the mind happy. When I was speaking, they did not know: "Who is this speaker, is it the gods, is it a man?" After I taught, encouraged, excited, and delighted the mind with the Dharma talk, I disappeared. When I disappeared, they didn't know: "Who is it, is it the gods, is it you?". 23. Hey Ananda. I recall that I have been to the Brahmins more than a hundred times... the Lay people... the Ascetic groups... the Four Heavenly Kings... the Thirty-Three Heavens... the Ma group. .. they are Brahma more than a hundred times, here before I sit, before I talk and before the conversation begins, like the Brahma world, so is my color; as their voice, so is My voice. And with the Dharma talk, I teach, encourage, exhilarate, delight the mind. When I was speaking, they did not know: "Who is this speaker, is it the gods, is it a man?" After I have taught, encouraged, exhilarated, delighted the mind, I disappeared. When I disappeared, they didn't know: "Who is it, is it the gods, is it a man?" This, Ananda, is the eight groups. 24. Hey Ananda, there are eight wins. What is eight? 25. A contemplation of internal color, seeing all kinds of external colors, limited, beautiful, ugly. He realizes that: "After defeating them, I know, I see", that is the first victory. 26. A visual contemplation of the internal color, seeing all kinds of immeasurable, beautiful, and ugly external colors. He realizes that: "After defeating them, I know, I see", that is the second victory. 27. A formless visualization in the interior, seeing the outer colors have a limit of beautiful and bad. He realizes that: " yellow color, yellow appearance, golden form, golden light - like yellow Kanikara cotton, golden appearance, golden form, golden light - like balanian silk, both sides smooth and golden, appearance yellow golden form - thus he visualizes formless internally, seeing various types of external colors yellow, golden appearance, golden form, golden light, he realizes: "After overcoming them, I know, I see", that is the sixth victory. 31. One who visualizes formless internally, sees all kinds of external colors red, red colors, red marks, red forms, red light - like red bandhujìvaka cotton, red colors, red marks, red color, red light - like Polish silk, both sides smooth and red, color red, general red, shape red, light red. Thus he visualizes formless internally, seeing various kinds of red external colors, red marks, red forms, red light, he realizes that: "After overcoming them, I know, I see", that is the seventh victory. 32. A person visualizes formless internally, seeing all kinds of white external colors, white appearances, white shapes, white light - like the white morning star Osadhi, white signs, white shapes, white light. - like Balinese silk, both sides are smooth and white, the appearance is white, the shape is white, and the light is white. Thus he visualizes formless internally, seeing all kinds of external colors white, white appearances, white forms, white light, he realizes: "After overcoming them, I know, I see ", that is the eighth victory. Thus, Ananda, are the eight noble bases. 33. Hey Ananda, eight liberations. What is eight? Having form itself, seeing forms; That is the first deliverance. Contemplating internal form as formless, seeing external forms; that is the second deliverance. Contemplation (form is) pure, focus on that thought; that is the third deliverance. Completely overcome form perception, eliminate the perception of existence, do not pay attention to different perceptions, with the thought "space is limitless", witness and abide in the base of Boundless Space; that is the fourth liberation. Completely beyond the base of Boundless Space, with the thought "Consciousness is boundless", realize and abide in the base of Boundless Consciousness; that is the fifth liberation. Completely beyond the base of Boundless Consciousness, with the thought of "nothing", witness and stay in the base of Nothingness; that is the sixth deliverance. Completely beyond the base of Nothingness, witness and stay in the base of neither perception nor non-perception; that is the seventh deliverance. Completely beyond the non-perception of non-perception, witnessing and staying in the cessation of perception; that is the eighth liberation. This, Ananda, is the eight liberations. 34. Hey Ananda, Once I was staying at Uruvela, on the bank of the Neranjara River, under the Ajapalanigrodha tree when I first attained enlightenment. At that time, Ananda, the Devil came to the place where I was, and when he had arrived, he stood to one side. This Ananda, after standing to one side, the Evil One said to me: "World-Honored One, now the World-Honored One is to perish, the Good One is to perish. White World-Honored One is now at the time of the World-Honored One's extinction." 35. Hey, Ananda, when I was told that, I said to the Evil One: - "Hey Evil, I will not pass away until my Male-stilts have not become true, wise, disciplined disciples, ready, multi-literate, upholding the Dharma, achieving the Dharma and depending on the Dharma, living righteously, living according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, it is not yet possible to declare, explain, present, define, and reveal clarifying, dissecting and explaining the Dhamma clearly; when a wrong path arises, it is not yet possible to question and subdue it skillfully, have not been able to propagate the miraculous Dharma. Demon, I will not perish until my bhikkhunis and nuns have become true disciples, discerning, disciplined, ready, multi-literate, upholding the Dharma, accomplishing the Dharma and achieving it. depending on the Dharma, living righteously, living according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, it is not possible to declare, explain, present, define, clarify, separate and clearly explain the Dharma; when a wrong path arose, not yet able to question and subdue skillfully, yet be able to propagate the wonderful Dharma. O Demon, I will not perish until My male lay followers have become true disciples, wise, disciplined, ready, well-versed, uphold the Dharma, attain the Dharma, and depend on it. Dharma, live righteously, live according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, it is not possible to declare, explain, determine, clarify, analyze and explain the Dhamma clearly; when a wrong path arose, not yet able to question and subdue skillfully, yet be able to propagate the wonderful Dharma. O Demon, I will not perish until My female laywomen have become true disciples, wise, disciplined, ready, well-versed, uphold the Dharma, attain the Dharma and depend on it. Dharma, live righteously, live according to the Dharma, after studying the teachings, it is not possible to declare, present, define, clarify, separate and clearly explain the Dharma; when a wrong path arose, not yet able to question and subdue skillfully, yet be able to propagate the wonderful Dharma. Demon, I will not perish until the holy life that I teach has not been accomplished, prospered, disseminated, propagated, or pervaded, that is, well taught to mankind. 36. Hey Ananda, Today at the Capala shrine, the devil came to me, and after coming, he stood to one side. Ananda, the Evil One, standing to one side, said to me: "World-Honored One, now let the World-Honored One pass away, Good Lord let us pass away. World-Honored One, now is the time for the World-Honored One to pass away. This is what the Blessed One said: "Devil, I will not perish until my bhikkhus have become true disciples, wise, disciplined, ready, well-versed, upholding Righteousness. Dharma, achieve the Dharma and follow the Dharma, live righteously, live according to Chathe Dharma, after studying the teachings, has not yet been able to declare, explain, present, define, clarify, analyze and explain the Dharma clearly; when the wrong way arose, they were not able to question and subdue them skillfully, yet they could not spread the miraculous Dharma." Bach, the World-Honored One, now the World-Honored One's Male-stilts have become true disciples. righteous, lucid, disciplined, ready, multi-literate, upholding the Dharma, accomplishing the Dharma and following the Dharma, living righteously, living according to the Dhamma, after studying the teachings was able to declare and express preaching, presenting, defining, clarifying, dissecting and explaining the Dhamma clearly, when a wrong path arose, was able to question and subdue it skillfully, was able to propagate the Dharma in a Thus, now the World-Honored One shall perish, the Blessed One shall perish. This is what the World-Honored One said: "Devil, I will not perish when my bhikkhunis... ; when my lay people... teaching has not been accomplished, prospering, popularizing, promoting, and perfecting means being well taught to mankind". World-Honored One, now the holy life taught by the Blessed One has been accomplished, prospered, popularized, popularized, and transformed, that is, being skillfully taught to mankind. Thus, now the World-Honored One shall perish, the Good One shall pass away. Now, the time has come for the World-Honored One to pass away." 37. When I was told this, I said to the Evil One: "Evil, rest assured, it won't be long before the Tathagata will pass away. After three months from today, the Tathagata will pass away.” Ananda, today at the Capala shrine, the Tathāgata is mindful and aware, giving up life and actions (not maintaining his life any longer). . When this was said, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: - World-Honored One, let the Blessed One stay for the whole life, the Blessed One, please stay for the whole life, for the sake of sentient beings, for the happiness of sentient beings. , out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for the happiness of Gods and humans. - Stop it, Ananda, don't ask the Tathagata anymore. Now, Ananda, it is no longer timely to request the Tathagata. 39. The second time, the venerable Ananda... The third time, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: - The Blessed One, the Blessed One, please stay until the whole life, the Good Lord stay until the whole life, for the sake of profit. for the sake of living beings, for the happiness of sentient beings, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for happiness, and for the peace of Gods and humans. "Ananda, do you believe in the Buddha's enlightenment?" - World-Honored One, I believe! "So, Ananda, why do you bother the Tathagata three times?" 40. - World-Honored One, I have personally heard the Buddha say: "Ananda, those who have practiced the four divine powers, practiced many times, are very adept, very sure, and very stable. , skillful, skillful in time, if he wants to, he can live up to one life, or the rest of it. the rest of life". - Hey Ananda, do you believe? - World-Honored One, I have faith! "This, Ananda, is your fault, this is your fault, you did not understand the obvious hint, the obvious manifestation of the Tathagata, you did not ask the Blessed One: "World-Honored One. Blessed One, let the Blessed One stay for the rest of the life, the Good One, stay for the whole life, for the sake of living beings, for the happiness of sentient beings, out of compassion for the world, for the sake of the world. For the happiness and well-being of gods and humans." Ananda, if you ask the Tathagata, the Tathagata can reject the request twice, but the third time, the Tathagata can accept it. such is your fault, such is your fault 41. Ananda, for a time I was staying at Rajagaha, Gijjha Kuta, there I said to you: "O Ananda, how lovely become the King! How lovely is Linh Thuu mountain! Those who, Ananda, have cultivated the four divine powers, practiced many times, are very adept, sure, steadfast, skillful, skillful in time, if they wish, can live up to an eon, or part of a lifetime. remaining. Now, Ananda, the Tathagata has cultivated the four divine powers, practiced it many times, is very adept, very sure, very stable, skillful, and skillful. If you wish, Ananda, the Tathagata can live for one life or the rest of it." Still, You cannot perceive, Ananda, the obvious hint, the obvious manifestation of the Blessed One. You do not ask the Blessed One: "World-Honored One, let the Blessed One stay for the rest of the kalpa, the Good One, stay for the whole kalpa, for the sake of sentient beings, for the happiness of sentient beings, out of compassion and compassion. for the world, for the sake of the world, for the sake of happiness, for the well-being of gods and humans." Ananda, if you make an appeal to the Tathagata, the Tathagata may reject the request twice, but on the third time, the Tathagata may accept. This, Ananda, is your fault, this is your fault.” 42. Hey Ananda, once I was in the city of Rajagaha, in Nigrodhàràma... I was also in the city of Rajagaha at Corapapata... Me too. in Vuong Xa citadel, Sattapanni cave on Mount Vebhàra... I also live in Vuong Xa citadel, at Kàla cave, on Mount Isigili... I also live in Vuong Xa citadel. in Sita forest in Sappasondika cave... I am also in Vuong Xa citadel, at Tapodàràma... I also live in Vuong Xa citadel, Truc Lam, Kalandaka lake... I also live in Vuong Xa citadel, in Jìvakambavana forest.. I am also in the city of Wangsha at Maddakucchi in Deer Park. 43. Here, Ananda, I said: "Hey Ananda, lovely instead of Vajra, lovely instead of Linh Thuu mountain, lovely instead of Nigrodhàràma, lovely instead of Corapapata, lovely instead of Sattapanni cave on Mount Vebhara, lovely instead of Sattapanni cave on Mount Vebhara. Kàla cave on Mount Isigili, lovely instead of Sappasondika cave in Sìta forest, lovely instead of Tapodàràma hot spring, lovely instead of squirrel lake in Truc Lam, lovely instead of Jìvakambavana forest, lovely instead of deer garden in Maddakucchi "! 44. "Those who, Ananda, have cultivated the four divine powers, have practiced many times, are very adept, sure, steadfast, skillful, skillful at times, if he wants, he can live for one life, or the rest of his life. Now, Ananda, the Tathagata has cultivated the four divine powers, practiced it many times, is very adept, very sure, very stable, skillful, and skillful. The Tathagata, Ananda, if he wished, could live for one life or the rest of it." Still, Ananda, you cannot perceive the Blessed One's obvious hint, the obvious manifestation. did not ask the Blessed One: "World-Honored One, let the Blessed One stay for the whole kalpa, the Blessed One, stay for the whole kalpa, for the benefit of sentient beings, for the happiness of sentient beings, out of compassion for others. For the sake of life, for the sake, for the happiness, for the well-being of gods and humans." Ananda, if you make an appeal to the Tathagata, the Tathagata may reject your request twice, but on the third time, the Tathagata. can accept, Ananda, it is your fault, This is your fault.” 45. Ananda, I was once in Vesāli at the Udena shrine. Those who, Ananda, have cultivated the four divine powers, practiced many times, are very adept, sure, steadfast, skillful, skillful in time, if they wish, can live for one life or the rest of their lives. again. Now, Ananda, the Tathagata has cultivated the four divine powers, practiced many times, is very adept, sure, stable, skillful, skillful in time, if he wishes, the Tathagata can live up to one life or part of a lifetime. the rest." Still, Ananda, you are unable to perceive the Tathagata's obvious hint, too clear appearance, and you do not ask the Tathagata: "Venerable Sir, please stay for me. for a lifetime, Good Lord, stay for a lifetime, Those who, Ananda, have practiced the four divine powers, practiced many times, are very adept, sure, steadfast, skillful, skillful in time, if they wish, they can live for one life or the rest of their lives. again. Ananda, the Tathagata has cultivated the four divine powers, practiced it many times, is very adept, very sure, very stable, skillful, skillful. If you wish, Ananda, the Tathagata can live for one life or the rest of it.” Still, Ananda, you cannot perceive the Tathagata's obvious hint, the obvious appearance of the Tathagata. He did not ask the Blessed One: "World-Honored One, the Blessed One, please stay for the whole kalpa, the Good One, stay for the whole kalpa, for the sake of living beings, for the happiness of sentient beings, out of compassion for others. life, for the benefit, for happiness, for the well-being of gods and humans.” Hey Ananda, if you request the Tathagata; The Tathagata can reject the request twice, but on the third time, the Tathagata can accept. This, Ananda, is your fault, this is your fault. 48. Hey Ananda, was it right from the beginning that I declared that all things favored, the body must be changed, returned to nothingness, transformed? How is it possible, Ananda, that what arises, exists, is conditioned, is subject to change, and yet wishes not to perish? There is really no such thing. This, Ananda, what the Tathagata has renounced, relinquished, relinquished, relinquished, rejected, is feeling, action. The Tathagata has said and said emphatically: "Soon, the Tathagata will pass away. After three months starting today, the Tathagata will pass away." Saying that the Tathagata wants to live, but contradicts the statement on the real time, there is no such situation. Let's go, Ananda, to the Kùtagàra lecture hall in the Great Forest. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One. 49. Then the Blessed One and the venerable Ananda went to the Kùtagàra lecture hall in the Dai Lam garden. When they arrived, the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, go and invite all the Male-stilts living near Vesàli to gather at the lecture. this way. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One, went to invite all the bhikkhus living near Vesali to gather in the auditorium, then went to the Blessed One, bowed down to him and stood to one side. After standing to one side, venerable Ananda told the World-Honored One: - World-Honored One, the monks have gathered. Venerable Sir, do what you think is timely. 50. The Blessed One immediately went to the lecture hall and sat on the prepared seat. After sitting, the World-Honored One said to the bhikkhus: - Monks, now that these dharmas have been realized and taught to you by me, you must learn well. practice practice and spread widely so that the holy life is permanent, eternal, for the happiness of sentient beings, for the welfare of sentient beings, for the sake of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for the happiness, for the peace of the world. You must be skillful in studying, realizing, practicing, and spreading them, so that the holy life may last forever, for the sake of our happiness. birth, for the welfare of sentient beings, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for the sake of happiness, for the welfare of gods and humans? It is the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, the Four Right Efforts, the Four Divine Powers, the Five Roots, the Five Powers, the Seven Bodhi and the Eight Noble Paths. It is these, bhikkhus, which have been realized and taught by me, which you must well study, realize, practice, and propagate so that the holy life may last forever, for the sake of the happiness of sentient beings. , out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for happiness, for the well-being of Gods and humans. 51. Then the Blessed One said to the Male-stilts: - Hey, the Male-stilts, this is what I tell you. Actions are impermanent. Be diligent to liberate yourself, soon the Tathagata will pass away. After three months starting today, the Tathagata will pass away. That is what the Blessed One taught. After saying this, Thien Thea added: I am old, I have little left over, Farewell to you, I go alone. Make your own medical facility, Be diligent, mindful, keep the precepts, Enforce the will, protect your own mind. Whoever is diligent in this law and law Will destroy birth and death, end suffering. Chanting product IV 1. Then the Blessed One, in the morning, put on his robes, brought his bowl and robe, and entered Vesàli for alms. After begging for alms in Vesali, eating and on the way back for alms, The World-Honored One looked at Vesàli with the gaze of a king elephant and then said to the venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, this is the last time, the Tathagata looks at Vesàli. Hey Ananda, let's go to the village of Bhandagàma. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, with a large assembly of bhikkhus, went to Bhandagama. Here the Blessed One was staying at Bhandagama. 2. Then the World-Honored One said to Male-stilts: - Hey, Male-stilts, it is because of not being enlightened, not having attained the four Dharmas that I and you must have been drifting for a long time in the sea of birth and death. how is four? Monks, it is because of not being enlightened and not attaining the Holy Realm that you and I have been drifting for a long time in the sea of birth and death. It is because of not being enlightened, bhikkhus, If you do not attain the Holy Wisdom, you and I will have to drift in the sea of birth and death for a long time. Monks, it is because of not being enlightened and not attaining the holy liberation that you and I have been drifting for a long time in the sea of birth and death. The Male-stilts, when the Holy World is enlightened, is attained; when the Holy Concentration is enlightened, is attained; when the Holy Wisdom is enlightened, attained; when the Saint of Liberation is enlightened and attained, the time when craving for a future life is eliminated, what leads to a new life is eradicated, now there is no more life. 3. Jambugama..., let's go. to Bhoganagara. 6. - Yes, the World-Honored One! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, together with a large assembly of bhikkhus, went to Bhoganagara. 7. Here, the World-Honored One in Bhoganagara at Ananda temple, he said to the Male-stilts: - Hey, Male-stilts, I will teach the four great teachings, listen and reflect carefully, I will preach. - Please, Venerable Sir! The Male-stilts obeyed the World-Honored One, the Blessed One preached as follows: 8. - The Male-stilts, there may be Male-stilts to say: "Hey, sage, I personally heard from the mouth of the Blessed One, personally received it. Such is life, such is the Dharma, such is the Law, such is the teaching of the Master." You, bhikkhus, should not praise or slander that bhikkhu's words. No praise, no slander, every word, every sentence, needs to be studied carefully and compared with the Sutra and compared with the Law. At that time you may conclude: "Surely these words must be the teaching of the Blessed One, and that bhikkhu has received the right teaching." This, monks, is the second great teaching. 10. Hey Male-stilts, there may be a Male-stilts saying: "In that residence, there are many Male-stilts Venerable, these are multi-literate, preserving traditions, uphold the law, uphold the law, uphold the weak law. And, bhikkhus, renounce them. The Male-stilts, there may be Male-stilts saying: "In that residence, there is a Venerable, this is a multi-literate, preserving tradition, upholding the law, upholding the law, upholding the essential law. The Sutras, which do not correspond to the Vinaya, then you may conclude: "Surely these words are not the words of the Blessed One, and that bhikkhu has received the wrong instruction." And, bhikkhus, the When you compare them with the Sutra, compare them with the Law, if they are in accordance with the Sutra, in accordance with the Law, then you can conclude: at the mango orchard of Cunda, an ironworker. 14. Ironworker Cunda heard: "Now the Blessed One has come to Pava and is currently in my mango orchard". Then the ironworker Cunda came to the Blessed One, and when he had arrived, he bowed down to him and sat down to one side. And the Blessed One preached the Dharma to the ironworker Cunda, who was sitting to one side, encouraging, exhilarating, and exhilarating. 15. World-Honored One, the Kakuttha River is not far from here, the water is pure, pleasant, cool, clear, easy to come by and endearing. There, the Blessed One could drink water and cool his limbs. 23. The second time, the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, bring water to drink for me. Hey Ananda, I am thirsty now and want to drink water. The second time venerable Ananda told the World-Honored One: - World-Honored One, there have just been about five hundred carriages passing by. Pukkusa, the Mallà clan, seeing the Blessed One sitting under a tree, immediately went to the Blessed One, bowed to him and sat down to one side. While he was awake, he was still awake, but he did not see five hundred carriages passing by near one side, nor did he hear a sound.” After showing his trust in him, Alàra Kàlàa, he said goodbye. What do you think is more difficult to do, what is more difficult to do? A person while awake, awake but does not see the five hundred carriages that have just passed near to one side, nor hear the sound. an awakened person, while awake, while it is raining, the rain is pouring heavily, while the electricity flashes, thunder rumbles, but neither see nor hear? 29. - World-Honored One, not to mention these five hundred chariots, up to either six hundred, or seven hundred, or eight hundred, or nine hundred, or a thousand, up to a hundred thousand carriages, also cannot be compared. And I said to the person standing to one side: 32: - "Hey, sage, why are there so many people gathered?" "Just now, venerable sir, it was raining, pouring rain, lightning flashed, thunder resounded, two farmer brothers and four bulls were killed by lightning. That's why so many of them gathered here. Venerable sir, where were you at that time?" - "Sage, I was here at that time." "Venerable One, did you not see anything?" - "Friend, I did not see anything." ". - "World-Honored One, do you not hear a sound at all?" - "Friend, I do not hear anything?" - "Venerable Sir, are you sleeping? right?" - "Sage, I am not asleep" - "Venerable One, are you awake?" - "Sage, yes" - "World Honored One, you are awake, sir?" He was awake, but while it was raining, the rain was pouring heavily, the electricity flashed, the thunder rumbled, two farmer brothers and four bulls were killed by lightning, but He did not see or hear anything. ". - Hey sage, it must be so". 33. Pukkusa, that person immediately thought to himself: "What a miracle, how rare the silence of a monk, when he wakes up, even though it rains heavily, the electricity is dazzling, the thunder is resounding. There were two farmer brothers and four bulls who were struck by lightning and died without seeing or hearing anything." After expressing his confidence in Me, he bows to Me, turns his right body towards Me, and bids farewell. 34. When being told this, Pukkusa, of the Mallà family, said to the Blessed One: - World-Honored One, my trust in him, Alàra, Kālāma, I now scatter it in front of a strong wind. . Miraculous, venerable sir! Blessed instead of the World-Honored One! World-Honored One, like a man standing up what has fallen, revealing what is hidden, showing the way to those who have gone astray, bringing a light into the dark so that those with eyes may see form. In the same way, the Dharma has been expounded by the Blessed One by many means. World-Honored One, I take refuge in the Blessed One, take refuge in the Dharma, and take refuge in the Monk Sangha. May the Blessed One accept me as a disciple, from now on until the end of my life, I will be devoted to it for the rest of my life. 35. Then Pukkusa, of the Mallà family, said to another: "Friend, bring a pair of colorful, bright yellow shirts and ready to wear." - "Honored One, When Pukkusa, the Mallà family had not been long gone, the venerable Ananda brought this pair of golden, bright and ready-to-wear robes and placed them on the Blessed One's body, and when these were placed on the Blessed One's body, the colors changed. the brilliance of the shirt seemed to be dimmed. And venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: - It is wonderful, Lord, it is so rare, the Blessed One is so rare, the purity and brilliance of the Tathagata's skin color! Venerable Sir, when I lay on the Blessed One's body, this pair of golden robes that are bright and ready to wear, the brilliant color of the robe seems to be dimmed. - Indeed, hey Ananda. There are two cases, Ananda, where the Tathagata's skin color is very pure and bright. how is two? In the night, Ananda, the Tathagata attained unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment, and in the night the Tathagata was about to pass away, enter Nirvana, and no longer had the remainder of samsara. Hey Ananda, there are two cases, The Tathagata's skin color is very pure and bright. 38. Hey Ananda, today when the last watch is over, at Upavattana in Kusinàrà, in the Sàla forest of the Mallà family, between two two-life sala trees, the Tathagata will pass away. Hey Ananda, let's go to the river Kakuttha. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One: This pair of golden robes. Pukkusa brought. Wearing this golden robe, the Guru's skin shines brightly. 39. Then the Blessed One, together with a large community of Male-stilts, went to the river Kakuttha, went down to the river to bathe and drink, then wade across to the other bank, went to the mango grove, and here said to the venerable Cundaka: - Hey Cundaka, please fold Sanghàti clothes into four for Me. Hey Cundaka, I'm tired now and want to lie down. - Please, Venerable Sir! The Venerable Cundaka obeyed the Blessed One and arranged the Sanghàti robe in four. 40. Then the Blessed One lay down on the side of his face like a lion, his feet resting on top of each other, mindfulness, awareness, contemplation, with the idea of getting up again when the time is right. And the venerable Cundaka sat in front of the Blessed One. 41. The Buddha himself went to the River Kakuttha. The river flows clear. Cool and peaceful. The tired Master walked down the river bank. The Tathagata, the Supreme Being, reigns in the world, after bathing, drinking water, wading across the river. The Teacher goes ahead, Among the Sangha of Male-stilts, While walking, he preaches. The Dharma is wonderful. Then the Great Being came, In the area of the mango grove. Calling the Male-stilts, surname Cundaka: "Fourfold your robe, Spread your robe for me to lie down. Hearing the teaching, Cundaka Immediately obeyed the instruction, Folded and spread the robe, Quickly. The Master lay down. Body is tired. Here Cundaka, Sit right in front of him 42. Then the Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda: - Ananda, it is very likely that someone made the ironworker Cunda regret: "Hey sage Cunda , It is of no benefit to thee, it is a detriment to thee, for the Tathagata takes his last meal as an offering from thee, and passes away.” Ananda, it is necessary to dispel that remorse of the ironworker Cunda: "It is meritorious for you, friend, to have the Tathagata's last meal of your offering, and to pass away. Friend Cunda, I personally heard and personally received this saying of the Blessed One: "There are two offerings of food and drink with the same result, the same result, the result is greater, the result is more beneficial than other things. What are the two other offerings, food and drink? This meal has the same result, the same result, the result is greater and more beneficial than other food and drink offerings. Venerable Cunda will enjoy longevity; thanks to this action, venerable Cunda will enjoy beauty; thanks to this action, Venerable Cunda will enjoy peace; by this act the venerable Cunda will enjoy fame; by this action, the venerable Cunda will enjoy the heavens, through this act the venerable Cunda will enjoy authority.” Ananda, it is necessary to make the ironworker Cunda dissipate his remorse 43. Then the Blessed One, After understanding this meaning, he immediately uttered the following words of appreciation: The merit of the giver, Always increased, The mind of hatred is eliminated. Not contained, controlled, The good person abandons all evil actions. Good, destroy greed, hatred, delusion. Mind liberated pure. Chanting product V 1. Then the Blessed One said to Venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, let's go across the river Hirannavati, to Kusinàrà - Upavatama - Salà forest belongs to the Milla family - Yes, yes. White World Honored One! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, together with a large assembly of monks, went to the other side of the Hirannavati river, at Kusinàrà Upavattana, the Sala forest of the Mallà family, and when he reached the place, he said to the venerable Ananda: - Ananda, spread your bed, head down. towards the north between two slats of twin life: hey Ananda, I am tired now, I want to lie down. - Please, Venerable Sir! The venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One, spread his bed, his head towards the north between two slats of twin life. And the Blessed One lay down, on the right side, like a lion, with his feet on each other, mindful and alert. 2. At that time, the sala tree bloomed out of season, full of branches and leaves. These flowers fell, spread and scattered on the body of the Tathagata to make offerings to him. Mandarava celestial flowers fall from the sky, fall, sown all over and scatter on the body of the Tathagata to make offerings to him. The heavenly powder of the flock fell from the sky, fell, spread and scattered on the body of the Tathagata to make offerings to him, the music of heaven rose up in the air to make offerings to the Tathagata. The heavenly song in the sky resounds to make offerings to the Tathagata. 3. Then the Tathagata said to the venerable Ananda: -- Hey Ananda, the sala trees naturally bloomed out of season, overflowing with branches and leaves, these flowers fell, sown all over and scattered on the Tathagata's body to make offerings to the Tathagata. seems. Mandarava celestial flowers fell from the sky, fell, spread all over and scattered on the body of the Tathagata to make offerings. The powder of the heavenly flock fell from the sky, fell, spread, and scattered on the body of the Tathagata to make offerings. Heaven's music in the air rose to make offerings to the Tathagata. The heavenly song in the sky resounds to make offerings to the Tathagata. But, hey Ananda, thus not respecting, revering, prostrating, making offerings or paying respects to the Tathagata. Ananda, if there is a monk, a nun, a layman or a lay woman who has accomplished the Dhamma and followed it, lives righteously in the Dhamma, and practices the Dhamma correctly, then that person will respect and respect it. worship, pay homage, make offerings to the Tathagata with the ultimate offering. Therefore, Ananda, attain the Dharma and the Dharma, live righteously in the Dharma and practice the Dharma rightly. This is how you should learn, Ananda. 4. At that time, venerable Upavana stood in front of the Blessed One and fanned him. The Blessed One then rebuked the venerable Upavana: "Stand aside, do not stand in front of me, bhikkhu." Venerable Ananda, immediately thought to himself: "This venerable Upavana is an attendant who has lived near and has been serving the Blessed One for a long time. Now, at the last moment, the Blessed One rebuked the Venerable Upavana: "Stand aside, don't stand in front of me." For what cause, for what condition, the World-Honored One rebuked the Venerable Upavana: "Bhikkhu-stilts, stand to one side, do not stand in front of me"? 5. Then the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: -- This Venerable Upavana is an attendant, living near and serving the Blessed One for a long time. Now, at the last moment, the Blessed One rebuked the Venerable Upavana: "Stand aside, do not stand in front of me, bhikkhu." For what cause, for what condition, did the Blessed One rebuke the Venerable Upavana: "Stand aside, bhikkhu, do not stand in front of me"? -- Ananda, many deities from the ten directions of the world gather to see the Tathagata. Until the twelve yojanas, Ananda, around Kusinara, Upavattana, and Sàlà forest, belonging to the Mallà family, there is no place, as small as the tip of a hair that can be pricked, that is not full of powerful Angels gathered. Ananda, the Angels are complaining: "We have come from a great distance to see the Tathagata. It is very rare that Tathagatas, Arahants, and Perfectly Enlightened Ones appear in the world, and in the darkest of days. today, in the last watch, the Tathagata will pass away. And now this powerful monk stands in front of the Blessed One, making it impossible for us to contemplate the Tathagata in the last hour." Thus, Ananda, the gods complain. 6. -- The World-Honored One, what class of gods is the World-Honored One thinking about? "There are, Ananda, a class of deities who are above the air, but have a worldly mind, who weep, with their hair disheveled, lamenting with their arms outstretched, lamenting their bodies falling on the ground, rolling over. said: "The Blessed One passed away too soon, - Ananda, there are four relics of the faithful to be admired and respected. how is four? "This is where the Tathagata was born." This, Ananda, is a relic, which the faithful should contemplate and revere. "This is the place where the Tathagata realizes unsurpassed Enlightenment," Ananda, that is a relic, which the faithful should admire and respect. "This is the place where the Tathagata turns the supreme wheel of Dharma," Ananda, that is a relic, which the faithful should admire and respect. "This is the place where the Tathagata passes away, enters Nirvana without residue," Ananda, that is a relic that the faithful should admire and respect. These, Ananda, are the four relics, which the good lay follower should admire and respect. Ananda, the faithful bhikkhus, bhikshunis, laymen, and laywomen will come to think: Don't worry about the matter of respecting the Tathagata's relic body. Be diligent, Ananda, towards self-liberation, live undistractedly, diligently, dedicated to self-liberation. There are, Ananda, the Sathāgata scholars, the Brahmin scholars, the profound householder scholars, the Tathagatas, who will take care of the Tathagata's reverence and reliquary. . 11.--White World Honored One, how should we treat the Tathagata's body? -- As, Ananda, treat the body of the Wheel-turning-Royal King, so treat the body of the relics of the Tathagata. -- World-Honored One, how do people deal with the body turning the wheel of the Holy King? -- Ananda, the body of the Wheel-turning-King is wrapped around with new cloth. After the new fabric is finished, it is again interwoven with braided linen. After weaving the braided linen, weave again with new fabric, and so on until five hundred layers of both fabrics. Then the body is placed in an iron oil box, which is covered by another iron box. When a pyre of all kinds of incense was built, the body of the Wheel-turning-King was burned on this pyre, and at the crossroads the tower of the Wheel-turning-King was built. This, Ananda, is the burial of the wheel-turning king. As, Ananda, is the method of burying the body of a Wheel-turning-Roman King, and so is the practice of burying the body of the Blessed One. The tower of the Tathagata must be erected at the crossroads. And those who bring at that place garlands, incense, or incense of various colors, pay homage to the stupa, or arouse joy (when standing in front of the stupa), then those people will benefit and be happy for a long time. 12. Hey Ananda, the next four classes of people are worth building towers. how is four? The Tathagata, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One, is worthy to build a stupa. The Paccekabuddha deserves to build a tower. Disciples of Thanh Van of the Tathagata deserve to build a stupa. The Holy King is worthy to build a tower. For what reason, Ananda, is the Tathagata, Devoted, Rightly Enlightened, worthy to build a stupa? The minds of the people, Ananda, will rejoice when they think, "This is the stupa of the Blessed One, the Devoted, the Rightly Enlightened." Because of such rejoicing in mind, when the body breaks up, after death, they will be reborn in a good destination, realm of the gods. For this reason, Ananda, the Tathagata, the Devoted, the Rightly Enlightened One is worthy to build a stupa. Hey Ananda, for what reason, the Paccekabuddha deserves to build a tower? The mind of the people, Ananda, will rejoice when they think: "This is the stupa of the World-Honored One. "Due to such joy in mind, when the body breaks up with death, they will be reborn in the realm of the gods, in the realm of gods. For this reason, the Paccekabuddha is worthy to build a stupa. Hey Ananda, For what reason, Thanh Van disciple of the Tathagata deserves to build a tower? The people's minds, Ananda, will rejoice when they think: "This is the tower of the Blessed One's disciples, the Disciples of the Blessed One, the Venerable One, the Rightly Enlightened One." Because of such joy in their minds, when their bodies break up and die, they will be reborn in a good destination, in the realm of the gods. For this reason, Ananda, a disciple of the Sravakas of the Tathagata is worthy to build a stupa. For what reason, Ananda, is the wheel-turning king worthy to build a stupa? The people's minds, Ananda, will rejoice when they think: "This is the stupa of the Dharma king who reigns in accordance with the law." Because of such joy in their minds, when their bodies break up and die, they will be reborn in a good destination, in the realm of the gods. For this reason, Ananda, the King of Wheels is worthy to build a stupa. These are the four classes of people who are worthy to build a stupa, Ananda. 13. Then the venerable Ananda went into the vihara, leaned against the doorpost and cried: "I am still a learned person, I still have to take care of myself and practice. Now my teacher is about to pass away, who else will love me?" The Blessed One said to the bhikkhus: -- Monks, where is Ananda? -- World-Honored One, venerable Ananda went into the vihara, leaned against the doorpost and stood crying: "I am still a learned person, still have to take care of my own practice. Now my Guru is about to pass away, Who cares about me anymore!" Then the Blessed One said to a bhikkhu: -- Go, bhikkhu, and in my name, say to Ananda: "Friend Ananda, the Teacher has called you." -- Please, venerable sir! That bhikkhu obeyed the Blessed One, went to the venerable Ananda, and after arriving, said to the venerable: "Friend Ananda, the Teacher has called for you." - "Yes, sage." Venerable Ananda obeyed that bhikkhu, went to the Blessed One, bowed to him and sat down to one side. 14. The Blessed One said to the venerable Ananda who was sitting on one side: -- Just now, Ananda, don't be sad, don't cry. Ananda, I have told you in advance that all things that are attached and beautiful are subject to birth, death, and difference. How, Ananda, could there be this fact: "Things arising, dwelling, conditioned, and subject to change should not be annihilated?" There can be no such event. For a long time, Ananda, you, towards the Tathagata, with your body and karma full of love, benefit, and happiness, are unique and immeasurable, with your speech karma full of loving-kindness, benefit, and happiness. incomparable, immeasurable with mind karma full of love, benefit, peace, unique, immeasurable. O Ananda, you are the doer of merit. Try to be diligent, you'll be at the level of no contraband, not long ago. 15. Then the Blessed One said to the Male-stilts: -- Monks, the Arahants, the Perfectly Enlightened Ones of the past, these World-Honored Ones all had supreme attendants like My Ananda. Monks, these Arahants and Fully Enlightened Ones in the future, these World-Honored Ones will also have supreme attendants like My Ananda. Monks, Ananda was wise and understood: "Now is the right time for bhikkhus to see the Blessed One, now is the right time for bhikkhunis, now is the right time for male lay people, now is the right time. Now is the time for female lay followers, now is the time for kings, ministers, foreign teachers, and disciples of non-Buddhist teachers to see the Blessed One!" 16. The Male-stilts, Ananda has four old, rare virtues. how is four? Monks, if a group of bhikkhus came to see Ananda, they would be delighted to see Ananda, and if Ananda preaches the Dharma they will be delighted with the discourse, and if Ananda does it quietly, bhikkhus, that assembly of bhikkhus will be disappointed. Monks, if there were bhikkhunis..., laymen... , they will be delighted with the discourse and if Ananda were to be silent at this time, bhikkhus, that group of laywomen would be disappointed. Monks, the Wheel-turning-Holy King has four wonderful and rare qualities. Monks, if there were a group of slaying kings... a group of brahmins... for having an audience with the Wheel-turning-King and if the Wheel-turning-King spoke, we would be delighted with the talk, and if the Holy King were to keep silent, those contemplatives would be disappointed. In the same way, bhikkhus, Ananda has four wonderful and rare qualities. If there were a group of bhikkhus... a community of bhikkhunis... a group of lay men... they would be delighted by the discourse, and if Ananda were to be silent, these bhikkhus and laywomen would be disappointed in this time. Monks, Ananda has four such wonderful and rare qualities. 17. When being told this, the venerable Ananda said to the Blessed One: -- The Blessed One, the World-Honored One, do not perish in this small town, in this desolate city, in this dependent town. World-Honored One, there are other larger cities such as Campà (Chiem-ba), Ràjagaha (Vuong Xa), Sàvatthi (Sàvet), Sàketa (Sa- period), Kosambi (Kieu-trade-di), Barànasi (Ba-la-complaint). World-Honored One, let us pass away at that place. At that place, there will be a great assembly of slaying kings, a great assembly of brahmins, and a great assembly of householders who believe in the Tathagata, who will make offerings to the body of the Tathagata's relics. -- Don't say that, Ananda, Ananda, don't say that this town is small, this city is desolate, this city is dependent. 18. Ananda, once upon a time there was a king named Mahasudassana (Great View). This one is the wheel-turning king, reigning like the Dharma, the dharma king, ruling the four worlds, conquering and protecting the nation, full of the seven treasures. This town, Ananda, is the capital of King Mahasudassana, whose name is Kusàvatì (Kassavati), the east and west is twelve yojanas, and the north and south are seven yojanas. This, Ananda, the capital Kusavatì is very prosperous, rich in strength, densely populated, full of people, and abundant in food. Hey Ananda, Just as the capital city of Alakamanda of the gods is very prosperous, rich and densely populated, The gods are abundant, and food is abundant, so Ananda, this capital Kusavatì is also very prosperous, rich, and densely populated. , multiply them satisfactorily. This, Ananda, the capital city of Kusavatì, day and night resounds with nine kinds of sounds, namely, the sound of elephants, horses, chariots, big drums, small drums, pixies, singing, slams, bells and sounds. tenth is the call: "Drink, eat". 19. Hey Ananda, go into Kusinàrà and say to the people of Mallà Kusinàrà: "Hey, Vasettas, tonight, on the last watch, the Tathagata will pass away." - Hey Vasetta, come ye. Behold, Vasetta, come ye. Do not regret later: "The Tathagata passed away in our garden village, but we cannot see the Tathagata." - Yes sir, White World Honored One! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One, put on robes, brought bowls and robes, and went with another person as a companion to Kusinara. 20. At that time, the Mallà people in Kusinàrà were gathering in the auditorium for some fortification. Venerable Ananda arrived at the Mallà's lecture hall in Kusinara. After arriving, the venerable one immediately said to the Mallà people in Kusinàrà: - Hey Vāsettha, tonight, at the last watch, the Tathagata will perish, O Vāsettha, you come. Behold, Vasetta, come ye. Do not regret later: "The Tathagata passed away in our garden village, but we cannot see the Tathagata." 21. The people of Mallà with their son, daughter and wife, when they heard the venerable Ananda say so, immediately felt pain, sadness, and heartache. Some weep with tangled hair, others wail with arms outstretched, others weep with their bodies falling on the ground, rolling back and forth: The Blessed One passed away too soon, the Good Lord passed away too soon, the Dharma eye disappeared from the world too soon.” And the Mallà people, with their sons, daughters, and wives in pain, sorrow, and heartache, went to Upavattana, the Sàlà forest of the Mallà family, and went to the venerable Ananda 22. The venerable Ananda thought to himself: "If I let the Mallà people in Kusinàra pay respects to the Blessed One one by one, the night would end before the Blessed One could all be. All the people of Malla pay their respects. So let's let the Mallà people in Kusinara pay respects according to each clan." - Venerable Ananda, this Mallà family with their wives, children, followers, and friends bowed their heads to the Blessed One's feet. This convenience in the first watch, caused the Mallà people of Kusinara to pay respects to the Blessed One 23. At that time, the ascetic Subhadda was in Kusinara. The ascetic Subhadda heard: "Tonight the last watch, the recluse Gotama will perish." And the wandering ascetic Subhadda thought, "I have heard the great old ascetics, the guru and his disciples say, 'It's very rare for the Tathagata, the Arhat, and the Rightly Enlightened One to appear into the world. And tonight, in the last watch, the recluse Gotama will pass away.” Now this question arose in my mind. I believe that the recluse Gotama can preach and solve my doubts." 24. Then the ascetic Subhadda went to Upavattana, the Sàla forest of the Mallà people, went to the place of venerable Ananda and said to him: - Friend Ananda, I have heard of the wandering ascetics, great seniors, monks. Master and disciples said: "The Tathagata, Devotion, Righteous Knowledge appearing into the world is very rare, and tonight, in the last watch, the recluse Gotama will perish." Now this doubt arose in my mind. I believe the recluse Gotama can give me a solution to my doubts. Friend Ananda, allow me to have an audience with the recluse Gotama. When being told that, venerable Ananda said to the ascetic Subhadda: - Stop it, sage Subhadda, do not disturb the Tathagata. The Blessed One is tired. The second time, the ascetic Subhadda ... The third time, the ascetic Subhadda said to the venerable Ananda: - Friend Ananda, I have heard from the wandering ascetics, the great seniors, the elders, and the disciples. It is very rare that the Tathagata, Arhat, and Righteous Knowledge appear into the world, and tonight, in the last watch, the recluse Gotama will perish. Now this doubt arose in my mind. I believe the recluse Gotama can give me a solution to my doubts. Friend Ananda, allow me to have an audience with the recluse Gotama. The third time, the venerable Ananda said to the ascetic Subhadda: - Stop it, sage Subhadda, don't disturb the Tathagata. The Blessed One is tired. 25. The Blessed One heard the story of the venerable Ananda with the ascetic Subhadda, he immediately said to the venerable Ananda: - Well, Ananda, don't hinder Subhadda, Ananda, let Subhadda be allowed to see the Tathagata. What Subhadda asked Me was asking to understand, not to annoy Me. And what I answer the questions, Subhadda will understand the meaning quickly. Venerable Ananda immediately said to the ascetic Subhadda: - Hey sage Subhadda, come in. The Blessed One allowed the Sage. 26. Then the wandering wanderer Subhadda came to the Blessed One, said greetings and asked politely, then sat down to one side. After sitting to one side, the ascetic Subhadda said to the Blessed One: - Venerable Gotama, there are recluses and brahmins who are leaders, rabbis, and head monks of the church, with good reputations. , gained fame, founded a sect, was revered by the masses, like Pārana Kassapa, Makkhali Gosala, Ajita Kesakambalì, Pakadha Kaccayana, Sanjaya Belatthiputta, Nigantha Nàthaputta, are all of these enlightened as they claim to be, or are they all unenlightened, or some enlightened and some unenlightened? - Come on, Subhadda, let's leave this matter aside: "Are all these enlightened as they claim to be, or are all unenlightened, or are some enlightened and some unenlightened". O Subhadda, I will teach you the Dharma. Listen and ponder carefully, I will speak. - Yes, venerable sir! The ascetic Subhadda obeyed the Blessed One. The World-Honored One said the following: 27. - Hey Subhadda, in any law there is no Noble Eightfold Path, here there is no First Sa-Mon, here also no Second-Sa-Mon, and no Third Sa. -mon, there is also no fourth recluse. In any law, Subhadda, there is the Noble Eightfold Path, here there were the first ascetics, there were also the second ascetics, there were also the third, there were also the fourth. It is in this law, Subhadda, that there is the Noble Eightfold Path. At this time, Subhadda, here is the first ascetic, here there is also the second ascetic, there is also the third ascetic, there is also the fourth. subject. The other non-Buddhist systems are devoid of recluses. Subhadda, if these bhikkhus lived righteously, there would be no Arahants in this world. This, Subhadda, in the twenty-ninth year, I left home to seek the true good. Fifty years with one more year Since ordination, Subhadda, I am a monk, a monk, a monk, and a monk. Outside of this area, there is no first or second, no third, or fourth. The other non-Buddhist systems are devoid of recluses. Hey Subhadda, If the Male-stilts lived righteously, there would be no Arahants in this life. 28. When being told that, the wandering wanderer Subhadda told the World Honored One: - It's so rare, the World Honored One! How wonderful, World-Honored One! Like a man standing up what has fallen, revealing what is hidden, showing the way to the lost, bringing a light into the dark so that those who have eyes can see form. Likewise, the Dharma has been presented and explained by the World-Honored One. World-Honored One, I take refuge in the Blessed One, take refuge in the Dharma, and take refuge in the Monk Sangha. I hope you can leave home with the World-Honored One. I ask for the great precepts. - Subhadda, anyone who was formerly a non-Buddhist and now wants to be ordained in the Dharma, must live in seclusion for four months. After living for four months in isolation, the Male-stilts, if they agree, will be ordained, give great precepts to become a Male-stilt. But I realize that the personalities of people are different from each other. 29. - The World-Honored One, if those who were formerly non-Buddhist now want to leave the home life, if they want to receive great precepts in this Law and Law, they must live four months in isolation. After living four months in seclusion, if the bhikkhus agree, they will be ordained and receive great precepts, then I will ask to live in seclusion for four years, after living in seclusion for four years, if the bhikkhus agree, let me ordained, give me great precepts to become a Male-stilts. And the World-Honored One said to the venerable Ananda: - Ananada, please leave home for Subhadda. - Please, Venerable Sir! Venerable Ananda obeyed the Blessed One. 30. The ascetic Subhadda said to the venerable Ananda: - It is beneficial, venerable Ananda, it is beneficial, venerable Ananda, to receive the initiation ceremony as a disciple in front of the Master! And the ascetic Subhadda was ordained and ordained with the Blessed One. Not long after receiving the great precepts, Venerable Subhadda was alone, peaceful, undistracted, diligent, enthusiastic, diligent. And not long after, this person witnessed the supreme purpose that the descendants of the monastics who had left home, abandoned the family, and lived without family towards. That is the unsurpassed holy life in the present, self-realization and abiding. Birth has ended, the holy life has been accomplished, what should have been done has been done, after this life there will be no other life. And Venerable Subhadda became an Arahant again. The Venerable is the last disciple to be saved by the Blessed One. Chapter VI 1. At that time, the World-Honored One said to Venerable Ananda: - Hey Ananda, if there are people among you who think: "The teacher's speech is no longer there. We don't have a teacher. )". O Ananda, do not have such thoughts. O Ananda, the Dharma and the Law, I have taught and expounded, after I have passed away, That very Dharma and Law will be your Teacher. 2. Hey Ananda, now the Male-stilts address each other as sages. After I pass away, don't call me that.
