Lesson 51 - UNDERSTANDING THE GENDER .

1. What is regulation?
That is voluntary Buddhist followers to rely on the Three Jewels. Three Jewels means the very noble of the Buddha. It is the  Buddha , ie the Buddha Shakyamuni +  Dharma  says the instruction of the Buddha at the time was written into the Sutra, and the  monk said  that the monks and nuns are practitioners at the Buddha's door.Because these three are so precious, so called Three Jewels, ie the three Presents of the Buddha. According to these three is called Refuge Three Jewels, referred to as Three.
Buddhists want to Refuge Three Jewels must be the representative of the Buddhist Temple Refuge in the temple or where the Buddha. At the ceremony, the person who wants to take refuge in the Lord Buddha to perform the Five Precepts, is the five things the Buddha requires to keep from being violated. The monk presiding over the ceremony will read every detail so that Buddhists can promise before the Buddha. However, the Buddha did not urge the Buddha to promise all five things. Promise what is promised, what does not promise promise silence not promise. No promises to follow after is good. But promised to do, not to break the promise. This person is considered to have taken the first step into the path of Buddhist practice. So we see Refuge is a voluntary work of each person, no one is obligatory. The refuge is in this place.
What is the Five Precepts?
The five precepts are  five  things  Buddha  commandments  teach Buddhist goods do not do. It is a barrier that prohibits the bad things of the body, speech, and mind that Buddhists should avoid. Here are five encouraging things, the Buddha only said to  stay away , not the taboo, because the Buddha can not stop people from doing bad things, can only encourage them not to do. Here we see the Buddha did not put himself on the  shoulders of the order,  is the very delicate of the Buddha.
3- The purpose of the five precepts
A Buddhist who has Refuge Three Jewels that is the first step ladder into the Buddhist path, also very toddler. If you do not cleverly step the next step that can not reach the goal to enlighten. Thus, the new Buddha laid down the five precepts, to help the Buddhists in the right direction and enjoy good results. If you do not keep the means of stopping there, you can not move forward. These five worlds not only to progress on the way to liberation, but also bring order, happiness, happiness for family and society right in the Tran.
4. What is the proper understanding of the Five Precepts?
Over 2500 years, the teachings of the Buddha are recorded in the Sutras were printed and edited thousands of times. Every time the editor reprints, the writer re-inserts his mind into, so the words become no longer accurate accuracy. Then the translation of the language is also wrong. Then through many religious wars, the ancient sutras were burned and lost much, now no one can find the ancient Sutra to compare. So the editors know how to do it. As a consequence, the words of the Sutra are not exactly the words of the Buddha. The correct understanding of the Buddha in the Sutras is a big issue.
Particularly about the  Five Precepts , the author has read many books with different prints, see the words are not quite the same, showing that the editorial work later falsified. The lectures of different authors are greatly reduced in their understanding. After being instructed by the Buddha, the author would like to present the contents of the Five Precepts in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha as below for reference.
The precepts are:
1. Avoid killing  (verapamilang veramanì) , understand "not kill" is also.
2. Avoid theft (Adinnàdàna veramanì) , understood as "No stealing" is also.
3. Keep away from sexual misconduct (Kàmesu micchàcàrà veramanì) , understand that "no sexual misconduct".
4. Stay away from lying (Musà and dà veramanì) , understand that "Do not lie" is also.
5. Avoid drinking alcohol and using drugs (Surameraya majjappamàdatthàna veramanì) , understood as "Do not drink alcohol" also.
Nowadays there are many documents and some publications of Buddhist scriptures did not accurately write the Buddha's teaching on the Five, so the author should state the following things to understand correctly:
1) Do not kill
That is not to kill people, be your own kind, and do not genocide other creatures. This Buddha did not allow the Buddhists to do, not just advised not to do. Monks and nuns do not kill to eat other animals, but buying meat for food is not prohibited. (When the Buddha was still alive, when the beggar, the fish meat, brought back the Three Jewels finished eating also).
Not killing does not mean that one does not die. Intimate meat is the essence of animals: Lions must eat deer, cats must eat rat, humans have to eat pork, chicken, fish, etc. It is not sin. But do not eat cannibalism: tigers do not eat tiger, cats and dogs do not eat dogs and cats, who can not eat human flesh.
Not killing also means not killing animals of the  genocide such as hunting animals in the birth, fishing by blasting, waste discharge of a river, etc. This crime is very serious, will definitely be punished. after. Need to understand the epidemic (such as rice biting, cattle flu epidemic, grasshopper devastation or destruction of forests, kill mouse poisons destroy crops, kill birds carrying virus disease, etc.), but have eliminated series, but not genocide, because they do not make them extinct.
2) Do not steal
Stealing from the thread of a thread, cheating others, until the tax evasion is called theft. Robbery, misappropriation of funds, corruption, blockade of the people, meals blocked fund charity ... are very heavy theft. Understanding theft is forbidden for anyone, anywhere, at any time, at any stage of history, for any socio-economic situation, without exception.
3) No sexual misconduct
Is not sexually promiscuous. The Buddha does not forbid sex, but forbid sexual  promiscuity, because indiscriminate sex leads to loss of energy and mind to cultivate, to break up family happiness, to cause suffering to others. .Having sex with many people but not consenting to the rule of law and local customs without committing adultery, but will lose the vitality, adversely affect the cultivation. Sexual and sexual assaults against children are crimes of sexual misconduct. Helping others to commit adultery is also committing adultery.Never the Buddha forbade the monk to be married, whether that is just the precepts of the local religion today.
4) Do not lie
Lying here is to lie to your benefit, to harm others. If you lie to entertain, or to reassure people, or to save lives, protect the truth  , to mislead the enemy (as in  the war people also set up fake, create false goals) , to keep the country secret etc.  does not violate this taboo.
5) Do not drink alcohol
The Buddha simply forbade drinking alcohol, to lose consciousness, to clear his mind for cultivation. Even things like opium, drugs, drugs are not used.
The Buddha taught the Five Precepts only advice not to do, not to mention the offender will be punished. In fact, the violation of the Five Precepts is guilty of sin, so it will be severely punished according to the law of the Tran and the law of cause-and-effect. If there is no crime under the Tran realm, then not fall into sin under the law of heaven.
All people keep the Five Precepts, the soul is high, the family happy, the society develops, cultivated successful. END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.THE MIND OF ENLIGHTENMENT.VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=GOLDEN LOTUS MONASTERY=AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.19/11/2017.
