Practicing the new Dharma is making offerings to the Tathagata.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. The Buddha's disciples love to make offerings to the Blessed One to cultivate good roots and cultivate merit. Usually, we often buy rice, water, incense, lamps, flowers, fruits (six offerings) as offerings to the Buddha. After sincerely offering, my heart feels happy with the good deeds I have done. Diligently worshiping the Buddha and the Three Jewels in general will achieve outstanding results in the present and in the future. In addition to the way of offering as mentioned, there is another very special offering, which is receiving and practicing the Dharma. This is one of the important teachings and instructions of the Blessed One near Nirvana for his disciples. This shows that the Buddha foresaw the possibility that later his disciples would prefer to worship and worship rather than study and practice according to his teachings. “Once upon a time the Buddha was living in Mount Kysarak, in the city of La-guest, with a large assembly of bhikkhus. (…) At that time, the Blessed One entered the city of Ko-thi, went to the native land, in the middle of the Twin-shou forest of the Malla family, and said to Ananda: - Fix a place in the middle of the twin life tree for me to lie down, with the head facing the north, the face facing the west. This is so, because My teachings will be handed down for a long time in the North. - Ananda replied: Yes. Then clear the place, let the head be built to the North. Then the Blessed One took his own robe, folded it in quarters, covered himself, and lay on his side like a lion king, his legs overlapping. At that time, among the trees of the Twin life, there were ghosts and spirits who devoted themselves to the Buddha, and scattered flowers in the wrong season all over the earth. The Buddha told Ananda that: - The god of the twin life tree took flowers in the wrong season to make offerings to me like that, not yet made offerings to the Tathagata. Ananda said: - Why is it an offering to the Tathagata? The Buddha taught: - Those who know how to receive and properly practice the Dharma, are those who make offerings to the Tathagata. Contemplating this meaning, the Buddha said the verse: Buddha in the middle Song life Lying on his side, mind not disordered Spirit tree pure mind Spread flowers on Buddha. Ananda asked the Buddha: What is an offering? Listen to the Dharma and practice making offerings with flowers. Yellow flowers like a wheel Not yet an offering to the Buddha Warm, precepts, and selflessness are the best offerings. (The Aramaic Sutra, the Traveling Sutra [excerpt]) The last teachings of the Buddha are always extremely important. By the way the tree gods gathered flowers in the wrong season to offer, the Buddha immediately taught that even offering flowers of gold as large as a wheel is not as precious as the flower of enlightenment. It is hearing the Dharma and properly practicing the Dharma that is really making offerings to the Tathagata. Of course, bringing six offerings (six offerings) to the Buddha will bring immeasurable blessings, but studying and practicing the right Dharma will create outstanding merit, and you can even escape birth and death in this life. I think, the Buddha wants to warn us that those who have enough of the six offerings along with studying and properly practicing the Dharma to make offerings to the Tathagata are very precious. Because it is not enough to just offer six offerings to the Tathagata. If those who because of certain circumstances do not have the six offerings, just make an offering to the Tathagata by studying and practicing the right Dharma. This way of making offerings, the merits and demerits are even more superior than making the six offerings. In particular, if you practice the Dharma and reach "Warmth, precepts, enter no-self", the Buddha affirmed that it is the first-class offering. Practicing the Dharma, seeing that the body, mind, and world are all selfless is the ultimate offering to the Tathagata.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.3/1/2022.
