The story of the Buddha sending his disciples to the spring to get water, every lesson should be engraved.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.

Through the story of sending disciples to get water from a spring that was once clouded by the Buddha, we help us realize the profound truth: everything in the world no matter what time we are, we want to keep our mind clear , not bewitching, should observe how things change.

Thus, we can understand the truth of the universe.

The story of Buddha sending his disciples to the spring for water

In the past, in order to search for the truth of the universe, the Buddha once led 1250 monks to go to all over India.
Those monks were bare-headed, bare -footed, miserable, quiet, walking forward on the path of seeking their truth.
Their charisma was calm and very steady. The group was like that and exuded a dignified and holy spirit.
Empty
When they reached a small stream, they met a large group of merchants. At that time, the monks had not had time to drink water, the elephant of the merchant group ran to the small stream, stirring the water to muddy.
The stream is no longer clear as before but becomes dirty. Wading through that stream, the venerable group entered a dense forest. The sky was dark, the Buddha decided to let everyone stay overnight in the forest.
At that time, his disciple, Ananda, vehemently protested. Because this place has no water, the monks have no way to remove the ceiling, no more drinks.
The Buddha asked again: "Don't we just have to go through a small stream?"
"But that stream has been kicked by the merchant's elephant to the level of mud, water is not clean, how can you use it?" - A Nan tried to explain.
The Buddha did not say anything more, just took out a gourmet bowl, gave it to A Nan, implying telling A Nan to scoop up the water bowl there to bring back. Seeing the disciple who was just about to speak, the Buddha opened his arms, urging him to leave early.
As soon as he took the bowl halfway, A Nan quickly returned. The Buddha asked why, A Nan said:
"The spring water is muddy, and he drinks will cause illness, so that his disciples can go to the river far ahead to get water for him."
Hearing that, Buddha only slowly said one sentence: "The remote country cannot save people who are thirsty near."
Ananda still tried to say: "But it is impossible to let him drink dirty water ..."
The Buddha did not argue, only asked: "Has the disciple gone to the small stream?"
Hearing A Nan honestly say that he hasn't been there yet, He said:
"I didn't go to the stream, how do I know if the water there is dirty or not?"
A Nan still thought he had a reason, frankly replied: "But at the same time, he saw it with his own eyes."
"But then it was then, not now." - Buddha answered calmly.
A Nan did not know what to do, only the way to go to the small stream, sure that this time will definitely draw a bowl of cloudy water back to the Buddha to see clearly.
But when I arrived, A Nan was surprised. Because the Buddha did not return to the small stream, the more he could not see the spring water, but as he said, the water here was clear without any turbidity.
Then, A Nan wondered, could the Buddha use "divine eye" to observe?
Empty
The fact that Buddha Da let A Nan go to get water in a stream that used to be muddy previously contained deep meaning.
After returning the country, A Nan brought his questions to the Buddha. He finished laughing and replied:
"I just need to close my eyes to know the water source of the stream has become transparent and pure. Because water is a mobile thing.
It is like the sentiment of sentient beings, which can be temporarily stained, but just as our hearts are flexible, our xinxing can be purified and return to our innate purity. "
"It turns out like that! Anyone, even if it is a crime to commit evil, can be awakened, and can become enlightened into a Buddha."
The Buddha said: "That's right! Spring water is clean and dirty, from dirty to clean.
This shows that all things in the world, no matter what time, are constantly changing, even the Dharma is the same.
So, we want to keep our souls clear, not bewitched, we should observe how things change, firmly grasping their paradigmatic variability. Thus, we can know the truth of the universe.
