Effort in Buddhism is different from the worldly effort and effort.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.

As a Buddhist, we must remember the poem "Van Xuan" by Sister Truc Lam. If we read and ponder, we will see the poem expressing two meanings: one is the one about the spring outside and the spring is forever inside. It is the eternal spring when people cultivate Enlightenment-liberation.

The poem of the group has only 4 sentences:
"Baby is never clear
Spring flowers bloom in their hearts
Spring is now discovered by Me
Projecting the pink wing meditation meditation bed ".
With 4 verses, but the content of the meaning of the teaching is very profound. So, where is the depth? If we read and ponder, we will see the poem expressing two meanings: one is the Patriarch about the external spring stroke (the spring of birth and death according to the world impermanence); and the next will of the Father speaks of a spring forever in a cultivator's heart. It is the eternal spring when people cultivate Enlightenment-liberation.
4-verse poem, the first 2 sentences about childhood; The following two sentences (also the end of the poem) The group emphasizes and articulates: The Spring Lord is now being discovered by Ta! So, discover what? The team has discovered the impermanence that arises and dies, to see the permanent Truth that we see in a few people.
Not a connoisseur of poetry, so I do not dare to discuss this poem deeply, I just think about it, The group teaches us to be a cultivator of the right-minded Buddha to cultivate to eliminate the bad and evil (greed and anger, anger, anger, anger, anger, anger) si) towards the process of enlightenment enlightenment (this roadmap is not only a monastic life) but also a long-term effort to enlighten the problem of life and death of reincarnation.
Practitioners without diligence are no different from those who want to cross the sea without boats. How many precious qualities such as Compassion, Wisdom, Equality, Loi-tha ... will become empty voices, no effect, if there is no diligence. So the last word of Buddha Shakyamuni to his disciples, before leaving the world to enter Nirvana, he said:

Practitioners without diligence are no different from those who want to cross the sea without boats. How many precious qualities such as Compassion, Wisdom, Equality, Loi-tha ... will become empty voices, no effect, if there is no diligence. So the last word of Buddha Shakyamuni to his disciples, before leaving the world to enter Nirvana, he said: "My disciples! Go ahead and be liberated".

So, where is the effort different from the worldly effort, effort, diligence?
According to the teacher, Tinh is refined, homogeneous, not interfering, Tan is coming back without regressing.
Effort is always to be unanimous, to strive relentlessly for a purpose of perfection, goodness, lightness and joy. In the usual sense, diligence means diligence, diligence. But in diligent terms, it is necessary to be diligent and diligent in order to achieve a truly righteous purpose, which is the purpose of liberation, not diligence and diligence in the purpose of lack of goodness, narrowness, selfishness.
The students need to study and pass the exam, to have a high position, noble, beautiful wife, enjoy a lot of fortune, so they cannot be called diligent. The rich man who loves to be rich, to gain a lot of benefits for himself, thus cannot be called diligent. The boy is passionate, dedicated to doing earthquake-related things with the aim to be loved by his lover, thus not being diligent. And some of the same "selfish" selfish things as mentioned above are not called diligence.
The nature of diligence in Buddhism is understood as below:
1- Diligence to suppress unkind evil:
- The evil is still subdued in us, do not let them arise. For example, until now, we have never stolen robbery, greed, gambling, and alcohol, then from now on, we must be diligent to preserve those evil deeds that never arise.
2 - Effort to eradicate evil that has arisen:
- As when I have created evil, robbed, lewd, alcohol ... I have to be diligent and determined to let go, don't let them continue.
3 - Efforts to generate good things that have not arisen:
- As ever, we have not helped the poor, yet defended the weak and weak, have not gone to the temple to worship Buddha, now we are determined to do these things.
4- Diligent growth in good works has arisen:
- As far as I have been helping the poor, defending the weak, going to the temple to worship Buddha, cultivating the mind and nature, now we continue to do those good things more.
In short, diligence is diligent, attentive, trying not to rest in the work of eradicating, stopping evil, evil, and giving birth to, growing beauty and goodness, with the ultimate goal of complete liberation.
The power of effort
Effort  is a powerful movement that motivates us to progress quickly on the path of good. Without diligence, no matter how wise it is, there are plans for how many good works, we cannot do anything that is useful for our life and society. Effort like gasoline in the car apparatus. Even though the machine is good, the driver is good, but without gas, the car is still lying in one place.
Great men, messengers, and eternal names are also always diligent, with a strong will, determination to help life. Failure does not make them depressed. Obstacles do not make them rotten. Thanks to their diligence, they have won all, from the external to the inner, they have achieved the best, noble wishes of mankind and uphold the example for the posterity to share.
A Western philosopher said: " This world belongs to those who have will and energy." Effort is the will and iron energy of those who want to advance to the Buddha-momentum status.

Following the example of the German master Thich Ca Ca
If in this life there is a most magnificent and noble example, it is the diligent example of Shakyamuni Buddha.
With the greatest and most noble will no one has ever thought about is liberation from samsara, and finding that way of liberation for all sentient beings; with that will, the Buddha was determined to leave the palace and leave in the dark. The throne was electrified, the wife was beautiful and the child was good, she could not hold on to His feet; the city is high, the pit is dangerous, the army does not stop his progress; Deeply painted with the cup, the supernaturally poisonous forest does not discourage him; A storm of storms, sun and rain, hunger and cold do not deter him. Once he left, he never turned back to look back on the past, happy to regret.
His path is in front, above, always looking up, coming forward. Achieving this goal, he continued to move toward another goal, always leaving behind his steps without ever returning. Every step is every step.
When he had not found the Tao, he was determined to find the way. Once he has found the path, he is determined to lead sentient beings to the path. Self-awareness and forgiveness, and pursuing it forever and ever until the feeling of happiness is full: these are the achievements that have been achieved through effort.
Has anyone had a mighty will like Him: finding a path to forgetting to eat, forgetting to sleep, dying in the middle of the forest because of hunger and thirst?
Someone said a fierce, energetic iron sentence like He:  "If you cannot prove the result, even if the flesh is broken, I will not leave this seat."?
Has anyone sat down to meditate 49 days under the Bodhi root among the old forest, without a minute of rottenness? ..
The diligent mirror of that diligent energy has caused so much good and precious influence for life, and especially for His disciples: Professor Dat-Ma sat in meditation for nine years and did not speak on the wall; Mr. Shen Guang, standing up to pray so that snow reached his knees; Mr. Xuanzang surpassed tens of thousands of miles of snow and sunshine from China to India to visit China ...
What are the examples of spirit, energy, patience, and encouragement in our hearts and make us more excited to be determined on our path of study.

Diligent diligence is not difficult. Small drops of water that often flow and penetrate stone. If the teachers practice the mind, but the mind is still lazy, lazy, then the result is difficult, for example, if a person takes a firewood stick, the tree is not hot but has stopped it, what is the fire? So teachers have to be diligent. "

Cultivate the daily effort of Buddhists
According to the teacher, first of all want to cultivate diligence for results, we must take precautions in the following cases:
Tanh Hao wins , this is a bad character that can hinder much in our refined work. There are many people who want to show that they are more virtuous than people, so they want to do great things. but their talent is limited, so no matter how hard they try, it is useless. So there is a sentence:
"The winter sand car, winter
It is hard to do nothing! "
For example, there is a new guy who practices wading, listening to people challenging to swim across a wide river also accepts that challenge. Even though he tried to bring out all his strength to swim, he could not escape the drowning accident in the middle of the river.
The second thing is to be  alert to the impetuous impulse , want to get results quickly. What, everything needs a time to grow, mature. I forgot the truth, I could not do anything with the results. Catching young seedlings must be seeded by removing lots of fertilizer, watering with lots of water, grouping it up, extending its roots etc. How much care is it to bring only a disastrous result to do let him die prematurely and die young.
New learners who have searched for profound philosophical books to read, have tried to keep up, pondering the night, not leaving the book, finally not understanding anything and getting depressed.
Those who want to eradicate all of their bad things at once, who steal robbers, boys and girls, and drink, boast arrogantly ... are no different from a child in a moment of excitement, going to the forest to resolve except For all the evil beasts, or a single, single soldier stormed the enemy's battle. Those people, no matter how hard they try, will not escape death.
So want to be diligent to have good results, need to work in a methodical way, to eliminate the tendency of aggression, the impetuous temper of not greedy to catch two hands. We can set a high goal, but go ahead one step after another; go from near to far, from low to high, from easy to difficult.
Go ahead steadily, don't run fast, then take a break to breathe, or get too tired to wake up!

In the work of eradicating evil, according to HT. Thich Thien Hoa taught:  "Nurturing goodness, to gradually reach the goal of liberation, is to set up a long-term program: we have to find all the enemies in people who are bad things, including them. it is clear to me: what kind of good things are we looking for in our friends, if we lack reinforcements from outside, then we open up the fronts, eradicate all the enemy to another enemy. (bad character), do not allow them to link, gather together, as they will create a strong, difficult to eliminate resistance. Whenever an evil is eliminated, we replace an opposing goodness. Again, and so on until there is no more evil, but only good qualities. "
We need to hear the Master of Sakyamuni teach:  "Let us strive diligently and ever, to achieve the noble goal we have not yet achieved, to master the spells that we have not yet mastered, to be real. The diligent diligence does not have anything difficult, but when the water is small and often flows, it breaks through the stone If the teachers practice the mind, but the mind is still lazy, so lazy, then The result is difficult, for example, if a person has a tree to fire a fire, a tree that has not been hot and has stopped it, how can the fire be achieved?
By the way, we also hear the last teaching of the Buddha when he passed away. Nirvana tells us like this:  "If you realize that your mind is tending to cling or entangle and desire, you stop that temptation, you have to master your consciousness, the mind is able to turn a person into a Buddha or an animal from enlightenment or delusion. so, you must control your mind not to stray out of the Path ".
Disciples, you should be aware that all objects and phenomena in this world are transformed, impermanent, combined, there must be disintegration, nothing to be attached to, pitiful. Life is like that, you must work hard to liberate yourself. Use intellectual light to destroy the darkness of delusion.
Life is an unstable operation.
Tathagata like Nirvana like leaving a sickness. Those are five humanity groups, sinful, temporarily called relatives, so it must be mercilessly dominated by old, sick and dead. The wisdom of escaping from it feels like the robbers are finished. So, is death not worthy to be happy or peaceful?
Disciples, you must earnestly seek the path of liberation. The whole world from moving objects to unmoving objects is also not common, and without reality, puppets must be destroyed.
Well, please be quiet, don't say any more words! The time has come for Tathagata to pass away Nirvana.
Those are the last words of Tathagata.
If we do things like Buddha teaches, we have nurtured the essence of Buddha - which is always available in our latent state. END=NAM MO SAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.12/3/2019.
