What is evil? The law of cause and effect for the wicked. Evil speech, also known as evil speech, is one of the four unwholesome things of speech (evil speech, self-sacrifice, double truth, and evil speech). It will cause a lot of regret for people in life after speaking out. Evil speech, also known as evil speech, is one of the four unwholesome things that cause people to receive the heaviest retribution (false speech, self-sacrifice, double loss, evil speech). Kind words can ease pain, ease people's sad mood. On the contrary, words can also make us regret for the rest of our lives. Evil words, evil words are malicious, rough, scolding, cursing words, which are uncivilized and unethical words in communication. However, speaking harshly or loudly is not bad language to some extent. Especially in the process of educating children by parents, teaching students by teachers. Harsh words that hurt the opposite person also unintentionally cause harm to themselves, this is not known to everyone. 1. The Buddha's teaching story about the cause and effect of evil speech Once upon a time, in the city of Sa Ve there was a very rich family member, named Su Chat, who was over 40 years old but had no children. The couple was very worried, so they went to a Brahmin's house to ask for a fortune-telling to see if there would be a son or daughter in the future. But they were extremely disappointed to hear the fortune teller answer that they would not have children for the rest of their lives. When Master Ching came home, his heart was troubled, suddenly thinking of the great saint Sakyamuni, thinking to himself: - The Buddha is the master of heaven and man, the omniscient one, there is nothing he does not know. , there's nothing he doesn't understand, Why don't we go to him and ask for guidance? Thinking of this, he aimed in the direction of the Ky Vien monastery. After paying homage to the Buddha, he folded his hands and said: - Great Compassionate White Buddha, please have mercy on stupid sentient beings. I have a little concern, this year is more than 40 years without a son to inherit, it is due to any predestined cause, I bow to the Buddha to teach. The Buddha replied: - Soon you will have a son, both blessed and virtuous, only when he grows up he will apply for ordination. Hearing this news, Master Chat was very happy and sincerely bowed to the Buddha. Not long after, a monkey came to the end of the world, reincarnated as a human, and was born in the house of Su Chat. When it was born, if there was anything in the ordinary house that could hold food, it was suddenly full of honey and sugar. Su Chat and his wife saw something strange, so because of this predestined relationship, they named their child Mat Thang. Time flies like an arrow, more than ten years have passed like a blink of an eye, now Mat Thang has grown up. The boy was fed up with worldly affairs, asked his parents for permission to leave home. The parents were very happy to answer: - When I was not born, the Buddha knew that there would be today. Now I want to leave home, my parents are very happy. Parents should never unreasonably stop their children. With the joyful permission of his parents, Mat Thang went to the Ky Vien monastery and asked to be ordained with the Buddha. Thanks to predestined conditions, Mat Thang testified very quickly. One day, he was on his way to conversion with his fellow initiates, feeling strangely hot and thirsty, and everyone longed for something to drink. Bhikkhu-stilts Mat Thang then took the bowl to the sky and then used both hands to take the bowl back. At that time, in a bowl filled with sweet nectar, Mat Thang divided them among the refreshments. Back to the monastery, A bhikkhu went to find the Buddha and asked for advice: - World-Honored One, in the past, what kind of virtue did Bhikkhu-stilts Mat Thang cultivate that now, at any time and anywhere, can have sugar and honey? The Buddha replied: - Do you remember once a long time ago, there was a monkey who brought honey to the Tathagata and the monks? Thanks to generosity with good intentions, after death it is reborn as a human, and thanks to it sincerely offering honey to the Buddha, in this life it can obtain sugar and honey anytime and anywhere. The Buddha finished speaking, the other monk asked: - The World-Honored One! Then, in the past life of Mat Thang, what were the causes and conditions that caused him to fall as a monkey? At that time, around the Buddha, there were many disciples gathering, he looked at them for a while and then replied: - He fell down to become a monkey because of a predestined condition that happened 500 kalpas ago, during the time of the Tathagata - lettuce is still there. At that time there was a young monk, who happened to see another monk crossing a small stream, the young man laughed mockingly, saying that the other monk's posture was exactly like that of a young monk. monkey. But then the teacher himself, knowing his mistake, came to apologize to the bhikkhu whom he had mocked. The young monk committed a crime of speech, so he was reborn as a monkey. However, thanks to his victory over repentance, he could meet the Buddha in this life and be saved by Buddha, and quickly attained Arahantship. After listening to the Buddha's lecture, the monks all realized that a bad sentence can also bring on suffering karma, so no one dares to speak harshly, not even a joke. Because the law of cause and effect does not leave out anyone.” The effect of words can ease the pain in the heart, alleviate the sad mood; polite words, Timely, right-time advice can change the negative thoughts of the other party and from there will gradually change the actions and unwholesome deeds. On the contrary, words can also bring people into the abyss of sin, can cause people to repent for a lifetime, in which bad language is one of the causes leading to consequences. such. 2. The law of cause and effect for people with bad speech The effect of words can ease the pain in the heart, alleviate the sad moods; Courteous words, timely encouragement, can change the negative thoughts of the opponent and from there will gradually change the actions and unwholesome deeds. On the contrary, words can also bring people into the abyss of sin, can cause people to repent for a lifetime, in which bad words, Evil speech is one of the causes leading to such consequences. Beware of Bad Karma This is easy to see through the causal nature of Buddhism. Evil words, evil words are malicious, rough words, scolding, cursing ... are words that are uncivilized and ethical in communication. Of course, speaking harshly or loudly is not bad language to some extent, especially in the process of educating children by parents and teachers' students. In the Buddhist scriptures there is a moral lesson that: There are people who hear the Buddha very compassionate, very virtuous, so intentionally come to scold the Buddha. But when he cursed, the Buddha was silent and did not answer. When that person finished scolding, the Buddha asked: "If you bring an offering to someone else, if he doesn't accept it, to whom will the gift end up?" He replied that the gift was still his. The Buddha then said, "Now you scold me, but I don't accept it, you bring it on yourself. Just as the echo is caused by depending on the sound, like the shadow that is formed by the shape, it cannot be avoided in the end. Be careful, don't say insults or bad language!" According to the principle of cause and effect in Buddhism, an action, a word, an idea or thought of body, mouth, or mind, whether it is wholesome or unwholesome, all lead to its definite result. There are behaviors, words, thoughts that are repeated many times, the current results are more obvious, more dominant in the daily life of that individual. Therefore, there is a popular saying that "Whatever you do, think about its consequences", or "Bodhisattvas are afraid of the cause, sentient beings are afraid of the result", that is to say, what do wise and enlightened people do. what to say, what to think always carefully, consider its consequences. Those who are addicted, just keep doing, keep talking, keep acting according to their feelings, according to their personal thoughts to satisfy their hearts and minds, when the consequences come, they are worried and afraid. Unforeseeable consequences... Thus, for those who often use malicious, rough words, scold, curse, etc. lack of quality, morality, civility in speech, in communication and lead to low self-esteem, people around will gradually alienate them. Their relatives are also more or less affected by these bad words, if they are parents who often use bad language towards their children, these children will accept it and in the process of growing up will also affect their children. this unwholesome nature. A child who is raised and educated in an environment with many unwholesome qualities, when grown up, will certainly have some influence on that quality. And if children often say harsh, malicious words, etc., surely parents and teachers can't help but feel uneasy. Especially, in today's society, some young people online on social networks facebook, twitter, etc. often use bad language, vulgarity, insult to others is not absent. You may think that these words are not only a specific person, not a direct person, will not be afraid of harm. But the reality is very dangerous, not only writing hate speech, but even just clicking to approve, support hate speech is dangerous, because many times doing so is shameless, no who controls, No one encourages tons, so long-term and long-term will become a habit. But Buddhism calls this karma, and if it is karma, it will affect the person's own life. Therefore, a bad word, bad language can lead to unpredictable consequences. 3. Say good words, keep kindness Buddhism talks about "evil language", sweet words, flattering words to others, embellishing words or saying insults, insults, sarcasm to bad luck. causing others to commit crimes are collectively known as false speech. In general, all the words that cause us trouble and hurt others are false words. The scope of meaning of "evil language" is very wide, however, it can be divided into four types: false speech (speak untrue words), dependent language (speak falsely, magnificent words, not true), double-tongued (double-tongued), and bad-mouthed (slanderous speech). Vanity means lying, intending to harm people. Ỷ language is saying embroidered words, adding flowers and leaves; two-truth is a way of saying that causes divisiveness, one person saying that person, another person saying this person makes them hostile; Evil speech is to speak crudely, to curse, to hurt others. In fact, only saints do not make this mistake at all, everyone else has done it, committed more or less, even innocent children can't avoid it. For example, when my father asked me "who do you love the most?" If the child is quick and intelligent, he will answer "I love you the most". When the boy's mother asks, he will also say "I love you the most". In order to please his parents, the boy who knows how to answer is also considered a crime of false speech. Sometimes when close friends ask "who do you love", he will answer both ways, "I love mom and dad". But if you keep asking "who do you love the most out of the two?" will become a difficult question for the boy. We should not ask children like that, not only unfair but also misleading children. Since then, we see, from childhood, people have been infected with the habit of speaking dishonestly. Although harmless, when it grows up, it is combined with the desire for self-interest, it is very likely that the bad habit will become an effective support tool for that person to commit a crime. In doing business, many people think that if they do not know how to flaunt and brag about their products, it will be difficult to sell, so they often introduce such as: "My company's products put quality first, can sell at a loss or equal capital to get the trust of customers, if you don't buy, you will definitely regret it" but the fact is that they make a huge profit. This is one of the dishonest, unrighteous ways of saying it, and it is a lie. Actually, just need money for goods, doing business is not necessarily lying. I have a friend who has been in business for many years, he revealed the secret of success is that, when talking to any customer, he is sincere, speaks truthfully, and lets the other party know his position. . He said, in addition to the cost of materials and other expenses to complete the product, he definitely needs to collect a reasonable profit. He said that, just to ensure the necessary revenue of the business owner, he did not like to make a profit by raising the cost of products, making a profit at any price. So doing business is not necessarily lying. The secret of long-term success is "you get what you pay for" so that customers can choose products according to their pocket, need to keep their credibility, which is professional ethics and ethics in the marketplace. In daily life, we not only need to practice "don't lie", "don't say fake words", "don't say double-tongue", "don't speak harsh words" but also have to practice speaking the truth, say words of respect, say words of encouragement and praise, say words of comfort to others. If you purify your words, your life will definitely avoid rumors and rumors.
