Mettā Pāramī (Merciful Conduct). Another Paramita is loving-kindness. Tomorrow, we will learn this method, love for all sentient beings, compassion for all beings. From childhood, we are taught to love our neighbors. On the surface, we keep saying, “May you be happy. OH! My neighbor friend. I wish you happiness.” But I have a lot of grudge against this neighbor, in my heart I say, “May your family fall to hell. Hey, my neighbor. May your family fall to hell, your house is so evil." There is no use, this is not a Pārami. Inwardly, our unconscious mind is much stronger than the surface layer of our mind. When we just scatter Mettā to others outwardly, it has no effect at all, it does not become a Pārami. When doing this method, During the nine days, we continue to purify the mind and break down the barrier that separates the surface of the mind from the interior. Then tomorrow, the tenth day, we learn how to practice this Mettā. May all beings be happy, may all beings share my happiness, my harmony. Then there will be no negativity left, and we will learn the real Mettā. This parami will be recorded in my merit. Upekkhā Pāramī (Equanimity of mind, equanimity) With all that we experience here is equanimity, equanimity, balance of mind. Whatever sensations you experience, pleasant, unpleasant, neither pleasant, nor unpleasant, remain equanimous. Here we have the wonderful opportunity to practice this Pārami. Usually, when life's ups and downs happen, we can remain calm, but that equanimity is only on the surface. Now, We are experiencing things at the depth of the mind. Feelings are experienced at the deepest level of the mind. And we're practicing keeping the innermost layers of the mind balanced. This practice becomes my Pārami. Dāna Pārami (The conduct of giving) And the next perfection is the quality of giving. It is difficult for the layman to reach the final destination. Why so? The main difficulty is that lay people are not allowed to go out for alms. A monk or nun has to go for alms but a layperson has to work very hard. Lay people must work honestly to earn a living, to support themselves, to feed those still under their protection, and to support others. That is the responsibility of a layperson. When we work and start making money, the ego is easily inflated: “Look! I am a very intelligent person, clever, wise. So that's how I succeeded. Others don't succeed and make that much money." By making a lot of money, people inflate their egos. As long as conceit is there, we are far from the ultimate goal of complete liberation. Now how to stop this conceit? on the one hand one has to earn money, on the other hand earned money gives rise to conceit. This is why the Saints, the Enlightened Ones have advised: "Whatever money you make, understand that you don't just earn it for yourself". Of course, we make money to keep for ourselves and the people who depend on us, but we also make money to help others: “Others must have a share in what I earn.” That way, that conceit becomes less, that ego will no longer be so strong. Coming to a meditation course like this, We practice non-stop for 10 days. Practice eliminating ego and purifying the mind. Then when 10 days are up, we contribute and donate according to our ability, more or less insignificant. People give with a pure heart, without expecting anything in return. Even this Dāna item will become very impure, when we expect something in return. Our love becomes very impure, when we expect it to be reciprocated. Our merit in serving others becomes impure, when we expect to be rewarded. In the same way the Dāna that is donated becomes impure, when one expects something in return. “I have contributed many Dānas there, so there is a special little house for me. Whenever I come, I have to be there with full facilities. When I'm not there, that's fine, let someone else use it, that's okay. But when I come, I have to be there, it has to always be my priority.” All of these are expectations that pay off. Or: “I have given many Dānas. Therefore, on this little house or building, it must be labeled Donated by Goenka, Great Goenka.” All that madness happens because people don't understand what Dhamma is, this is what we've been doing all our life. Practicing for 9, 10 days here, I eliminate my ego and I feel, “Oh! Whatever I donate is for the benefit of others, just as I get many benefits. Because someone donated to me, someone donated these things, I have this wonderful Dhamma, which is very helpful to me." Likewise, may more and more people benefit from this Dhamma. Therefore, philanthropic contributions come from a pure mind, the desire to help others, the desire for others to be free from suffering. This wish is recorded in my Pārami merit. On the contrary, when the ego is built up, this contribution is no longer Pārami. Coming to a meditation course like this one has a wonderful opportunity to develop all these 10 Pārami. I practice Zen, purify my mind, develop all 10 Pārami. People also come here to donate 10 days of service in these courses. Those who come here to serve are practicing the development of those 10 Pārami. They have the wonderful opportunity of serving here to add drop by drop in 10 bottles, large or two small, we grow those 10 Pārami. If one is going to become a Sammā Sambuddha, an omniscient Buddha, the bottle is very large, requiring a lot of time. Complete deliverance comes even the small bottle but all 10 of these bottles must be filled. All these 10 Pārami must be completed and to be like that, We have a great opportunity to come to a course like this. Take advantage of the opportunity you get! Next time you come to a Zen course, keep in mind that: “I will not come to a Zen course for a religious ceremony, but to complete a Pārami. I will make a difference in my life. , a change for the better”. Continue to apply Dhamma to your daily life. All these 10 Pārami will come to help us in our daily life, not just when we reach our final destination. All these 10 Pārami, always help us in daily life. When there are difficulties, we will find that without this Pārami, another Pārami will come to our aid. These are all good Pāramis, a pure mind, must have all these good qualities. And through meditation itself, we are developing these qualities. May all my 10 Pārami be developed and perfected. May I achieve the final goal, may I experience liberation from the bonds, the extravagance, the shackles of all unwholesomeness, so that I may enjoy real peace, real harmony, happiness. really.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST DHARMA-EYE TEMPLE.GOLDEN ZEN BUDDHIST MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.27/6/2023.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
