Buddha taught about one's cultivation career. A person's cultivation career, in order to eliminate the contraband or reach liberation, needs to follow a certain sequence. This process is illustrated by the Blessed One as water flowing downstream from the top of a mountain to the sea. On one occasion the Blessed One was staying at Sàvatthi, at Jetavana, and taught the bhikkhus: These four times, bhikkhus, if skillfully cultivated, skillfully carried out, gradually lead to the cessation of taints. how is four? Listen to the Dharma at the right time, discuss the Dharma at the right time, just at the right time, and contemplate at the right time. Suppose, bhikkhus, it rains on the top of a mountain, and water flows down the ravine and fills the valley, then floods the ponds and lakes, fills the rivers and streams, and then spills into the ocean. In the same way, these four times, bhikkhus, if skillfully cultivated, skillfully carried out, gradually lead to the cessation of defilements. Comment: One's cultivation career, In order to get rid of the contraband or, to reach liberation, it is necessary to follow a certain order. This process is illustrated by the Blessed One as water flowing downstream from the top of a mountain to the sea. Listening to the Dharma is the first important factor. If you don't listen to lectures, study, study and learn about the scriptures, you will definitely "cultivate blindly". Listening to the Dharma is one of the ways to cultivate wisdom. The study of the scriptures must be timely, that is, to go in sequence, in order from low to high, from secular to ultimate. After hearing the Dharma, not everyone fully understands, grasps the essence of the Dharma. Therefore, it is necessary to think, contemplate and discuss to deepen the meaning. Dharma talk is an extremely necessary method of studying Buddhism. Thinking and discussing the Buddhadharma will help practitioners absorb the Dharma more deeply and accurately (Wisdom). Literature and Wisdom are very important, as the foundation for Tu wisdom. Only and contemplation or in other words the practice of concentration and wisdom is the basis for all dharma doors. It's just concentration, ie concentration, condensing and quieting all thoughts. Contemplation is to investigate, to see clearly the true nature of all things. Pointing and contemplating at the right time is to use only contemplation smoothly, compatible with the reality of body and mind to destroy defilements, achieve right wisdom, attain liberation, and Nirvana. Thus, learning, thinking and practicing Dharma, if applied in a hierarchy, is a factor leading to success in practice. Timely practice is something that should be kept in mind for anyone who wants to practice effectively. Today, although many cultivators have attained the Saints, are not many, are we not really "smart in practice" as taught by the World-Honored One?
