The body is sick but the mind is not sick. Being sick, of course, suffering, the suffering is multiplied in old age. Aging and sickness have been eating away at human life. This suffering is a fact that each person can personally experience and no one can avoid. Once, the Blessed One was living among the Bhayga people, the Bhesaka forest, the deer park. Then the householder Nakulapità went to pay homage to the Blessed One, saying, "World-Honored One, I am old, advanced in age, sick and sick all the time, I hope the Blessed One will teach me so that I can be happy and peaceful for a long time. long. - This is really the case, householder, the householder's body is diseased, ill, and covered by pollution. Hey homeowner, whoever carries this body, claims to be not sick, even for a minute; he must be a man without a mind! Therefore, householder, it is necessary to study as follows: Even if my body is sick, my mind will not be sick. Thus, householder, This is what homeowners need to learn. Disease of body, disease of mind and disease of karma should be treated like? But man's greatest suffering is not due to old age or sickness, but because of grasping at this body that is me, mine, and my self. T Comment: The most precious human life in the world is health, because having health means having everything. However, except for a few rare cases with full blessings of health, not knowing what sickness and medicine are, the rest most people carry many diseases. Sickness, sickness, and old age are attributes of human life, the law of life, and the condition of sentient beings. Being sick, of course, suffering, the suffering is multiplied in old age. Aging and sickness have been eating away at human life. This suffering is a fact that each person can personally experience and no one can avoid. So what should a child of Buddha do to overcome the fate of birth, old age, sickness and death? According to the Buddha's wisdom, we must first recognize the aging and illness of the body as a fact, the nature of this body of the four elements. The form, the body is only a transit station, a temporary stop for the four elements of earth, water, wind and fire which circulate endlessly. The four great conditionings are temporarily called healthy, if they are not, they are called diseases, but rarely are the four elements really harmonized. It is very important to recognize the fact that the body's aging and illness are inevitable in order to accept and be intimate with it. This is a wisdom. But man's greatest suffering is not due to old age or sickness, but because of grasping at this body that is me, mine, and my self. In fact, none of these four elements and five aggregates are really me. Since we are not self, we cannot force the four elements to function according to our own desires. We aspire to be healthy and long, while the four elements coldly operate in the direction of aging and death. One must observe to see clearly that not only the body but also sensations, perceptions, thoughts and perceptions have no subject, not me. By seeing clearly like this, when the five aggregates change, decay, and decay, the Buddha's son remains calm, free from sorrow, pain, and grief. This is the great insight that the Blessed One instructed the householder Nakulapità to practice in order to overcome suffering, old age and sickness, and it is also what all Buddhas must practice in order to attain peace, because the truth is that "even if my body is sick, my mind will not be sick”. longevity while the four elements coolly operate in the direction of aging and death.
