Introduction to The Buddhist Sutras Like That.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
(Itivuttaka)
T stormed Buddhist theory as such (Itivuttaka), under the State Ministry of Economics (Khudaka Nikaya), is a collection of 112 short texts, titled derived from the phrase "Buddha preached like this" (Itivuttam). The Sutra is divided into four chapters: chapter one, chapter two, chapter three, and chapter four.
This collection of sutras was put together by a laywoman named Khujjuttara after narrating the teachings of the Buddha, to Queen Samavati and other concubines of King Udena, of Kosambi. The Queen could not leave the palace to go to the Buddha's residence to listen to the Buddha's preaching, so the queen sent Khujjuttara to listen to the lecture, memorize it, and then return to the palace to narrate it to her and 500 other concubines. Ms. Khujjuttara has an extraordinary memory and is very intelligent, skillful in teaching the Dharma, so the Buddha once praised that she was the First Thanh Van among female lay disciples (Anguttara Division I.14). She was also an excellent teacher to guide the queen and other concubines in Dharma practice. When the inner palace caught fire, killing the queen and all the concubines,
The name "Itivuttaka" is also used in the first classification of the nine canonical texts of Buddhism (*), a classification that predates the arrangement of the Pali Tripitaka as we know it today. It is difficult to know for sure whether the present-day Itivuttaka Pali is exactly the Itivuttaka mentioned in that classification. The Chinese Canon contains a translation of Itivuttaka, often attributed to Xuanzang. This translation contains many passages like the Pali Itivuttaka. The main difference is that Xuanzang's translation does not contain many of the suttas in Chapter III and does not contain Chapter IV at all. It is possible that these sections were collected later in the Pali canon, but not in the Sanskrit canon for translation into Chinese.
The original history of the Buddhist Sutras Thus, there are many complicated problems because in the beginning, the sutras were only passed down through the centuries before they were written down on paper. However, this is one of the most popular Pali Canons because it includes the teachings of the Buddha on many basic doctrinal topics - from the simple to the profound - in a clear format. clear, concise and direct.
