Buddhism: Tao is the way, Buddha is enlightenment.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
In the word Buddhism, "Tao" means the way, "Buddha" means enlightenment. Practicing the Buddha's teaching on the path to enlightenment and liberation is cultivation.
Awakening the potential "to become a Buddha"
The monastic is responsible for leading Buddhists, so the direction must be firmly grasped. Blurry understanding, inadequate practice, leading others astray, no merit, becomes a sin. Buddhists also need to know the right spiritual direction to benefit themselves, their families and society.
First, we realize that Buddhism is not a religion. This makes many people surprised, wondering why we also worship but not religion? Here, let's explain that "respect" is respect, "teach" is the teaching of a superior. The teachings of the Supreme Lord must be respected and obeyed indistinguishably. That's called religion. Disciples of the Buddha revere the Master because His guidance brings benefits now and in the future, not for favors or retribution. The two concepts are distinctly different.
Buddhists also need to know the right spiritual direction to benefit themselves, their families and society.
"For a long time, we think that sitting in meditation, suddenly one day, when a bright light shines, knowing the past and future is enlightenment. Such notions are wrong, not the right goal of a disciple. Buddha. The meaning of the word enlightenment is very clear: Misunderstanding the truth is delusion, knowing it as it really is is enlightenment. So the focus of Buddhism is to see the truth."
In our view, "Tao" is the way, "Buddha" is enlightenment. Practicing the Buddha's teaching on the path to enlightenment and liberation is cultivation. Delusion is the source of all suffering. If you want to end suffering, you must be enlightened, from there to the liberation of birth and death. The goal of Buddhism is to save suffering and bring sentient beings from the edge of delusion to enlightenment. If you are not enlightened, you cannot be liberated.
For a long time, we think that sitting in meditation, suddenly one day a bright light shines, knowing the past and the future is enlightenment. Such a conception is wrong, not the right goal of a Buddhist disciple. The meaning of the word enlightenment is very clear: Misunderstanding the truth is delusion, knowing it as it really is is enlightenment. So the focus of Buddhism is to see the truth.
Buddhism cures heart disease
Ask enlightenment what is paramount? Buddhism is aimed squarely at people. Seeing the real body, dear is love. Knowing it's not real, fake temporarily called enlightenment. The monastic shaves his hair badly, wears clothes a bit more ugly, eats frugally, and doesn't pay too much attention to taking care of his body. Therefore, you must be enlightened to have the courage to leave home. Even so, it is only an external enlightenment.
At the beginning of the temple, we could not fully realize what the Buddha taught, we were still very confused. Because the very essential place we do not dare to admit. This life, this life is not real, but people think it is real. Like in a family where a loved one died, the rest of them mourned heavily, they couldn't accept it. This has always been like that, whoever does not accept it suffers. Those who understand that truth are normal before everything is lost or changed.
Therefore, when the wise see their loved ones pass away, they know that it will always be their turn. Elderly people go first. I will go later. Sometimes the younger people go first, the more we wake up, the more we wake up, remembering that when people are fake, we can't be real. That is awareness. If you always remember that, then leaving home and practicing at home will benefit.
People in the world think that their body is real, so they fight for fame and fortune, and cause them to sin and endure eternal life. If it is fake, the things that hurt and trouble others will definitely not be done. Yes, the practice is very easy and fast. On the contrary, if you mistakenly think that the body is real, even though you want to practice it, you still want to enjoy it, and in the end you won't get anywhere.
Because of our enlightenment of temporary life, we should leave home to seek liberation from birth and death. The road has been mapped out, obstacles and obstacles are bound to be overcome. As a matter of fact, as long as you are present, you must make efforts to cultivate. Always be aware of fake body, fake speech, fake life, how easy it is to practice. Praise and criticism is just a game. Nothing worth worrying about, bothering.
The Buddha's Prajnaparamita Sutra teaches that Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva reflects on the five aggregates that do not necessarily bring suffering and yoke, that is to say, the Bodhisattva contemplates the body from nothingness, the combination of false and unreal, and then overcomes all suffering and yoke. . So being poor is not miserable, you can spend as much as you can, live every day. It doesn't matter if it's a little unsightly. The body is not real, beautiful or ugly, it's not real, there's nothing sad. Only one verse we can understand, if we apply the practice, all sufferings will pass.
Buddhism specifically instructs practitioners to be enlightened, not to believe blindly. Understanding the Buddha's teachings, applying in life to gain benefits, is knowing how to cultivate. Realizing the body is not real, fake exists, we have realized the truth about the body.
Next mind. For a long time, people have misunderstood a lot about the mind, most people accept thinking as their own mind. Enlightenment about the body seems difficult, but analyzing it is easy. Enlightenment about the mind is very deep, hard to see. Like in our heads we never get five minutes of silence without thinking. From thinking about this to thinking about that, continuously without stopping. The continuous stream of thoughts like water disappears and disappears, and there is no place to be attached to your mind.
Lay people should not beg for blessings, just follow the Buddha's teachings and practice, the results will come by themselves. That is my reminder for monks and nuns and Buddhists on the occasion of the retreat season.
The Buddha's golden sayings about the 4 types of people
Practicing meditation forced to sit dignified, leg pain near death still had to endure for an hour and a half, two hours. It is to overcome the hardships on the body by oneself. A miserable body is still easier to overcome than a mind. In my head, I wanted to stop, but I kept running, grasping this, it slipped through that, never stopping. The illusion is the shadow of the ceiling inscribed deep in the store consciousness, ready to appear at any time, unstoppable, preventable. If you really want to win over your mind, you must first conquer your body. Only successful self-defense can conquer the mind. The body is a little hard to bear, it will never be able to subdue the mind.
For a long time we have been slaves to our wandering mind. A whole life was restrained by it restlessly. Now stopping to be silent is called concentration. The true mind is the one that knows hope. Only the real can see the fake. The gossip is fake, suddenly lost can't see the real thing. So while practicing, we skillfully tame the body and mind, applying the teachings of the Buddha, the cultivation has results.
Here I explain the chant chanting meditation so that Buddhist monks and nuns can apply the practice properly. The first verse of the day begins with two sentences:
Watch a dignified sitting meditation.
The spirit of euthanasia is corrupt.
Stopping silence is called "chinh". Quietly knowing is called "projection". When the mind wanders in peace, the true mind manifests quietly, lucidly, pervading space. Thoughts arise and disappear continuously. The mind is silent, clear, immense.
For aeons up to now, there is no birth and death,
Where is the need for birth and destruction?
The true mind has been projected from eternity to now and has never been born and killed. The patriarch taught to sit quietly, when the mind is quiet, the mind is bright, from which to live again with their own inherent nature. But how to stop the crazy delusions?
Many people misunderstand sitting meditation as the cessation of hope. Truth, false hope, it's not real to destroy, so I advocate "Knowing hope". Seeing that it's fake, just don't follow, don't be led. When the mind appears a false shadow, knowing the fake does not want to follow, it quiets itself, returns to its essence. The verse awakens the meditator not to mistake seeing the hope that it immediately disappears, not the echo trying to find and destroy it. Echoing silence, the foot appears, fully without searching.
Contemplating all dharmas as illusory,
Self-nature is not used except.
Those who are aware of the worldly dharmas see emptiness, existence, temporary, and illusory conditions, so they are not afraid to want to eliminate them. That is knowing with wisdom. Like a sane person never stabs himself with a knife to death. Only fools who don't know the shadow is fake will try to destroy the shadow. Knowing illusory dharmas, memories of sadness, joy, and hatred arise, we just laugh, it's naturally quiet.
If you know the nature of mind without appearance,
Silence does not move automatically like.
All appearances of deluded mind are deceptive. True mind nature has no form but is eternal. Let go until the mind is quiet, as it is. Mindfulness is always there, so once all delusions are cleared, it will be fully displayed.
At the end, we ask the Blessed One to show us the way, follow his teachings to reach the goal of enlightenment and liberation. That is the way of Buddhism. Monks and nuns must know how to meet the Buddhadharma, being ordained is a great blessing, should not be underestimated. Try to cultivate a healthy seed every day, each day it grows. We should not take the form of a cultivator but have a worldly soul, so we are not worthy of being in old age, accepting donations. Lay people should not beg for blessings, just follow the Buddha's teachings and practice, the results will come by themselves.
