a. Meaning of sitting meditation:
Meditation is a method to help us refine our thoughts and focus our minds on an object. Sitting meditation leads to peace of mind and promotes wisdom. Therefore, sitting meditation is not a quiet dream but a method to cultivate the mind for purity and is a positive activity that unleashes the mysterious loving energy that is asleep within us.
Our mind is so important, it is the center of life, the universe and contains the group of all things. It is the hidden fortress of all bad habits, but also the fertile land of the birth of an enlightened seed. It is the mind that creates happiness and also the mind that creates suffering. Meditation is aimed at transforming, controlling and developing the goodness of that mind.
Meaning while practicing meditation has two parts. The first is to gather a mind, let go of the thoughts and bring the mind back to a state of calm and calm. This is called Only, is to stop all thoughts, contact and discrimination. The second part is to use the tranquil energy of the mind to observe things and see all the variables of things, that is, to see things in the light of three characteristics: impermanence, suffering and non-self.
Gather mind is Just call Samatha. Watch the mind and see on the right side the phenomenon of things that are Quan or Vipassana. Just to suspend all thoughts, the shop is contemplating things as true to its generals. Only by studying the mind training method, can we remove all suffering and achieve true state of peacefulness.
Mindfulness or meditation are the principles that lead to awakening, to observe, to know reality and to live in the present moment. Only the present moment is the true moment of life. All external objects such as color, sound, taste, touch ... come to the senses of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind are all recorded. All these objects are contemplative objects and increase awareness.
Because of the constant awareness, we can see the true nature of things so we do not be lustful, immersed. The nature of man and all things is composed of five hypothetical aggregates, which do not have a true and unchanging true truth. The more mind-centered, the more intellectually we will see people, the universe is only related relationships and dependent to be born or destroyed. Thus, we can see the combination of the five aggregates, ie the mental and physical phenomena such as form, feeling, thought, mind and perception which are not real. Thanks to that, we are peaceful and leave all obstacles and delusions; attain the truth of mystery, shake off negativity and evil psychology.
b. How to meditate:
When practicing meditation we have to choose a subject to focus on. Breath is often chosen as the main subject. We should monitor the breath and acknowledge the entry of the breath.
We can base on the following breath test to practice meditation in the beginning:
Breathe into a calm mind
Breathe out and smile Smile
stay in the present
Beautiful moment.
Breathe in, silently recite the silence, exhale and smile and really smile. Then breathe in, recite the present, and exhale great thoughts, and really feel relaxed. Watching such breaths gradually control the mind. Meditation must have a guidance teacher to make progress. Learn and practice according Breathe out and smile Smile
stay in the present
Beautiful moment.
to the Buddhist Mindfulness of Breathing with experienced and possessive teachers.
Please summarize a few basic ways to help people begin to practice meditation.
1 / There are many people meditating together, practice is much easier. This is very easy to recognize for yogis who have gone through meditation sessions with many fellow practitioners. The meditation power of a group is very large and very special impact on the concentration of each person. If both a family or a Sangha meditate together at certain times of the day, the effect of meditation will be achieved very quickly.
2 / A quiet place, mountain forest and nature is a great grace for meditators. It is difficult to meditate if it is nearby, a large television or radio broadcast with exciting songs. Arrange and respect the tranquility during meditation.
3 / Meditation hours will be decided jointly by people who meditate. Which time is convenient for everyone, and when a certain time has been decided, always keep on time. Meditate for a long time or as long as we decide. If you want to sit every 15 minutes, keep it for 15 minutes and always start and end at the same time. Beginners should sit about every 15 minutes, then increase it for another 15 minutes after about 5 weeks or two months of practice. If sitting 45 minutes or 1 hour, twice in each day is best.
4 / There should be a tool that makes the sitting comfortable and comfortable. Shop for a soft seat, medium height. The instrument depends on the position of each person, how to sit comfortably. People with arthralgia are not able to sit on the floor, can sit on a chair or a suitable wooden blow.
5 / The sitting position depends on our choices and efforts. The Buddha sat in the lotus position for 49 days and attained enlightenment. We should sit cross-legged, ie sit like a lotus flower. Squeeze your left foot over your right leg's thigh, and your right foot rests on your left thigh. Straight back, eyes looking forward or closed, lips smile. This sitting position is the most stable, because the weight of the body is placed on three points, that is the table, and the two heads. The image of the top standing on three feet, firm, unshakable. If you can't sit cross-legged, then sit in the old half. The left foot is placed on the right leg, or the right foot is placed on the left leg. In both the old and the half-century, the hands of the letter, the fingers overlapping, the thumbs touch each other lightly. If you don't sit with your old or semi-aged body, you can sit the most comfortable way for us. If you sit on the floor, you cannot sit on a chair, your back is held straight, not leaning against the chair. The back and the table are made into a 90 degree angle. The head and the two hands are like sitting in a lotus position or half-old.
6 / Eating well, pure and sleeping enough, also helps us a lot in meditating. Do not eat too full, do not eat difficult to digest foods such as meat of animals. Absolutely alcohol, cigarettes, gambling; gradually reducing sexuality, hatred and struggle than losing, meditation is effective and fast.
7 / Should the mind take refuge in the Three Jewels and maintain the five precepts if they are Buddhists at home. The precepts need to be learned and practiced seriously. The precepts are not bindings but the key to unleashing the encounters of all lustful roots, anger, bigotry, and wrong knowledge. Practicing meditation always takes the first part of the world, taking the precepts for the freshness of mind and body and mindfulness. Mindfulness is both a beginning and a function and a result of meditation.
8 / If you are not a monk in the monasteries, you should enroll in meditation courses to learn how to meditate directly with the Zen masters, yogis have the basis of the Bible. study experience. The teacher and the meditator have the depth of peace, stability, and relaxation are the greatest, best works that transmit to us the flexible and practical principles and techniques of meditation.
9 / Going to monasteries, monasteries and meditation centers to stay in the monastery for a few weeks, months or at least 10 days a year is essential for developing your meditation skills. In places where there are many monks, practicing almond and liberation practices, that place and scene has pure energy, and has a great spiritual power that blesses our meditation practice. So our wisdom and compassion improve very easily.
10 / Believe in your ability and the place where you practice meditation consistently, sustainably, without being outside and hoping to dominate. Gender is a teacher, and is a teacher, which is our ability to control our body, mind, feelings, thoughts and perceptions. The coming state and the first achievement of meditation are to master the three karmas, mouths and minds in the present moment. Body, mouth, mind do not let go of the lung, do not create bad things as a result of reality, the mystery of the supernormal ability of meditation.
c. Breath control:
Control breathing by counting breaths. Counting breath is the most basic but basic practice method. Breathe in and count 1, breathe out and count 1; breathing in and counting 2, breathing out to count 2 to 10 is back. Our mind will only focus on counting the breath. When counting breaths well, we just need to watch the breath in the abdomen. Vipassana Meditation teaches the recognition of bloated, flat movements of the abdomen. The first step should be to try to understand exactly the nature of psychological phenomena that are happening inside the body, such as feeling light, healthy, happy, smiling. Just practice, you can watch the breath out, enter each of the three breaths instead of watching the ten-count count. Breathing in and breathing out silently counted one; breathing in and breathing out and counting two; breathing in and breathing out and counting three. Practicing the three breaths steadily we can follow the mind in the present moment. The mind in the present moment is mindful and the lamp of wisdom is lit. There is wisdom that we will see the true face of life and of the arising and arising conditions. Thanks to that, we are not bound, we will free all delusions and obstacles.
Before starting to practice breathing, controlling breathing, we should recite the following verse three times:
Sitting firmly on the high mountain
Breathing light bar into the Center of
mind by breath
Counting every three breaths .
d. MeditationBreathing light bar into the Center of
mind by breath
Counting every three breaths .
diseases : The common diseases of new meditators are depression and delusions. Depression is when sitting in meditation, our mind is dreaming about a membrane, not feeling awake. Dysfunction is when meditating, good thoughts, evil thoughts wandering through our minds without stopping. For cultivators, bad thoughts are not good, but they must also remove good thoughts. At some point, we will clearly understand that we want to be liberated, we have to remove unwholesome thoughts as well as good thoughts, that is, to be able to attain equality and equality, separate from discrimination.
e. Controlling thoughts with recognition, awareness:
When the mind is dreaming, be aware that we are dreaming. This medicine is a concept: the province. Wake up to stop the low-lying state. When we are disturbed, we are aware that our mind is in disarray. This medicine is silent. How provincial, how quiet, it is up to our clear attention.
One day the Buddha used divine eye, he saw a great disciple sleeping and snoring while meditating. On that occasion the Buddha pointed to ways of overcoming depression:
* Opening his eyes
* Looking up at the sky
* Standing up and walking
* Deep, long and slow
breathing * Holding his breath to wake up
* Going to wash his face
* A few episode relaxation movements.
* Reflecting on a person suffering, death.
* Send the mind from mindfulness to a dying person.
* Send compassionate energy to a person who is angry and has a lot of resentment.
* Think of a person who is blind and amputated on both legs, how miserable he is.
* Exhausted, too sleepy, lie down and sleep comfortably.
* When you are awake, continue to meditate and control your breath.
As for the disorder of mental disorder, be aware that you are thinking about something and recite it. For example, we are thinking about a person with heart disease, please recite heart disease, heart disease. When you expect this mind to end, return to counting the three breaths again. The Dharma has birth, then there is death. Hope is no different, meaning that hope has been born, then all will have to kill. We just need to be aware of that and naturally the concept of whirring will vanish. Gradually, after much practice, our body and mind will be easy to calm down and we will step through the deeper reflection to develop compassion and wisdom.
To meditate we have to keep the precepts. Without holding the precepts, there is no way to have power. As we have taken three refugees and have vowed to keep the five precepts, we must be determined to preserve the precepts, not let go of the lung and turn away. If you want to be determined, you must keep the precepts. If you want to have wisdom, you must have concentration first. People who go to the monastery have many precepts and dread, but in the world of not killing, not stealing, not having sex, not having great hope about acquiring and not drinking are the five important precepts that we need to receive.
f. Meditation benefits:
Meditation is to make the mind and body become calm, clear, out of sickness and to get rid of all worries. Meditation is the best way to make the spirit rich, have a lot of patience, listen, open and help us succeed in all areas of life.
If you are passionate about sex, sitting meditation will be less passionate about sex. If you are a person who is angry, meditating will help us to eliminate anger. If a person lacks confidence, meditation will help us to be confident. If a person is full of afflictions, boredom, sitting meditation helps us to be peaceful and awake.
Farther away, the meditators who have been practicing for a long time and who practice the method of practice will be enlightened like Buddha, no longer suffering from miserable passages, no longer wandering in the sea to die and fall in love. Meditation is ultimately to see that our true nature, of man and of all things is equal, pure and harmonious. We are present in all things, in the unborn, and in all things, there is our reincarnation.
Through meditation, we transform all the roots of suffering, attain true state of peacefulness now and tomorrow. Meditation develops the wisdom and compassionate energy to be able to resolve the suffering and hatred of those around us.
The benefit of meditating to the level of maturity and maturity, we will attain the state of immortality between the flow of life and death.

Praying Buddha makes the body, mouth, and mind clean. Farther away, bow to the Buddha to bring about concentration and wisdom. That is when we bow to the Buddha to attain the ritual of non-natural ritual, ie when bowing to the Buddha, we must let go of our own self, the mind will enter into the self nature of the Buddhas and all things in absolute terms. Lord Buddha in mindfulness.
The nature of all things, beings and the nature of the Buddhas which are quiet and equal. So when you start bowing to the Buddha, you must bring your heart earnestly, not accepting and not treating you. Praying to the Buddha but "believing" that I have bowed to the Buddha, meditating and "pity" I have meditated is before the general. Everything that has generals and generals is deceitful, incapable of revealing true wisdom and true nature. Still known as a form, a means, is a necessity for the initiation of Buddhist practice.
Usually we bow to the Buddha to commemorate the deep and profound virtue of the Buddha, to live according to the goodness of the Buddha, to vow to renounce evil deeds. Lord Buddha is vowing to practice Buddha's great compassion and altruistic mind, in order to transform suffering itself and vow to benefit many people.
By entering the Dharma course to worship the Buddha but the general people residing at Kim Son Monastery have very good health, the joy of being present, the body and mind of each person becomes fresh, solid and relaxed.

In a mass of people, we should divide each person in charge of initiating a title of Buddha or the name of a Bodhisattva. Each title, we can initiate 5 to 10 times. If we practice bowing to the Buddha alone, we can also use this method to write down the number of Lord's offerings for ease of memorization.

Masses at Kim Son Monastery use the Dharma meditation method to worship Buddha as the basic and essential practice principle in the daily life of monastics. After each sitting meditation, reciting sutras we can leave for over 30 minutes to bow to the Buddha. Prostrate to the Buddha as well as to meditate, when bowing to the Buddha, we are in contact with the deep, firm and unity of the body and mind in the present moment. We can experience the easy peacefulness through the Dharma-door to worship Buddha. Just practice is that we have peace, disengaged immediately, without waiting for time.
In practical terms, after bowing to the Buddha for about 30 bowels, we see the warmth of the whole body, blood circulation regulating air, gentle breathing, the sound of the Buddha's voice is elegant, the mouth is fresh and we have the feeling Extremely pleasant feeling. Spiritually, the miraculous supernatural power of bowing to the real Buddha is vast. Diseases that are difficult to cure and difficult to eliminate, such as anger, bad karma, let the incurable diseases of a doctor heal, equal to the method of prostrating to the Buddha to dedicate, repenting errors, healing karma very effectively . The new person who practices meditation, keeps the mind solid, and settles on the unfinished subject, the Buddha's supplement to the peace of mind and concentration is very good, very mysterious.
3. The practice of walking meditation
One of the methods for growing mindfulness is practicing walking meditation. Walking meditation is a practice of mindfulness while walking. In the United States, Canada and other European and American countries, tens of millions of people practice meditation on a daily basis.
Going leisurely in silence, we can go alone or with many people at the same time. The meaning of silence here is not only quiet in words, but quiet in mind. That is to go without thinking, just watch the breath out, enter and stay in the body and mind in the present moment. Going without looking for a destination, the destination is right in the body and mind, right in the present moment. Many of us have many worries, fears, sorrows and suffering because our minds are often wandering about past stories or future stories. We lose happiness, lose loved ones, lose the beautiful meaning of life, because we don't know how to look, contact with beauty and what we have in the present moment. Walking meditation helps us establish calmness, calmness and regulate the heart's breathing. It is very scientific and necessary to use consciousness to breathe in the hard work of the heart, lungs, spleen, liver, bile, kidneys and all parts of our body. There are many people in the world today who believe and practice according to the walking meditation method of Buddhism, because the practice of walking meditation is easy to practice for all levels and ages. It is very easy to practice and the results are fresh, peaceful for body and mind, so today's walking meditation method has become a universal practice for all Buddhists and not Buddhists everywhere. in eastern and western societies. Before going on a walking meditation we can begin to recite the verse:
Step by step, light up the light breeze
Step by step, arouse the joy
Step by step, follow the breaths
Step by step, we return to us.
Should be conscious of every step so that our mind can easily stay in the present moment. The left leg starts first, the right foot follows and mentions: left, right, left, right. We can also control the footstep with the in and out breath: left, right, breathing in; Left, right, exhale. Just like that we control every step and every three breaths regularly on the walking meditation path. Step by step, arouse the joy
Step by step, follow the breaths
Step by step, we return to us.
When meditating, go slowly, leisurely and keep quiet if you go with many people. However, when traveling on a long road and for young people with a lot of active energy, we can also go faster than normal, but remember to always control the out breath, follow each step .
When we go we feel light, strong, relaxed, arousing joy and freshness in our souls that we have been more or less exposed to elaborate walking meditation. Walking meditation is not going to go but to go back to the breath, with a smile, to our well-being in the moment we are going, the present moment. The moment is the moment we are truly present with life. If we practice contemplation and awareness in the present moment of successful walking meditation, we can also contemplate and observe in the present moment of all objects and other activities in our lives. me.
Kim Son Monastery has many winding trails on thirty acres of land. The landscape here is green, quiet and beautiful, so it is very convenient for practicing walking meditation. Friends, yogis and visitors come to the Monastery, almost everyone likes to attend the practice meditation sessions. On the walking meditation paths, sometimes we can stop and rest to practice meditation songs beside the rocks, on the banks of the stream stream, or at the lake's edge. Thanks to the walking meditation paths and the pure and natural heavenly framework at this Monastery, the abbot and the masses have helped many people overcome suffering and catastrophes; heal the breakdowns in a couple's lives, bringing joyful happiness to families and groups.
We can begin to practice walking meditation right in our lives on holidays or on weekends. We can go alone or with relatives. I took a leisurely stroll in the empty parks, on the banks of the stream, on the coast or on the mountains with freshly landscaped trees and fresh air.
In the Buddhist tradition recorded is when Prince Siddhartha just born and smiled and walked seven steps. The footsteps of the crown prince come where there is a lotus blooming there. That is the meaning of walking meditation. Go without worry, not like being chased by attempts and expectations. Go with the mind of peace. Where to go is to bring beauty, joy and love to it. It is the walking meditation step of the Buddha in the past, in the present and in the future. When you return to Kim Son Monastery, remember to attend Buddhist studies, practice walking meditation to have more awareness, mindfulness and happiness.
