What is Hanh Dau Da? Dau Da practice is one of the ascetic practices in Buddhism, aimed at training the body and mind, eliminating worldly afflictions, and aiming for enlightenment. History: During the Buddha's time: Many monks and nuns practiced the 13 dhamma practices and achieved enlightenment. The most famous is Venerable Mahaca-lettuce, known as the "First Dao" in the Buddhist community. After the Buddha's time: Dau Da practice was transmitted and developed in different Buddhist sects. Content: 13 Dau Da Dharma: Fasting for a certain period of time (fasting for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, ...) Only eating one meal a day Not wearing nice clothes Staying in the forest Not bathing or washing Do not using scented oils Do not use jewelry Do not sleep on high beds Do not use vehicles Pick up leftovers Eat leftovers from others Eat food given by others Eat food left behind by others Purpose: Help practitioners practice willpower , restrain yourself, live in poverty, stay away from desires, and aim for liberation. Helps practitioners purify their body and mind, easily practicing meditation. Helps practitioners develop compassion and joy. Help practitioners dignify the precepts and live chastely. Note: Cultivation of Dau Da requires the guidance and permission of a reputable monk. You need to practice slowly, in accordance with your health and abilities. You should not get so caught up in the form of practice that you forget the main purpose of training your mind.
