Samyutta Demon. Thien Contains Verses I. First Chapter I. Suffering and Karma (Ignorance, 103) 1) Thus have I heard. At one time, the World-Honored One was at Uruvela on the banks of the Neranjara river, under the Ajapàla Nigrodha tree, when he had just attained enlightenment. 2) Then, while the World-Honored One was meditating in solitude, the following thought arose: "Truly I am liberated from that austerity. How good it is that I am truly liberated from that unconnected asceticism! How good it is, I persevere, am mindful, and attain Bodhi!” 3) Then the Evil Demon, with his thoughts, knew the thoughts of the World-Honored One, immediately went to the World-Honored One, and after coming spoke this verse to the World-Honored One: Abandoning asceticism, Helping the young man to be pure, Impure , thinking that he is pure, Going against the pure path. 4) Then the World-Honored One, knowing: "This is the Evil One", immediately recited a verse to the Evil One: Knowing the ascetic Dharma, Considered immortal, That Dharma is not beneficial, Does not bring any benefit, As Oars and rudder, A boat on dry land. Precepts, concentration and wisdom, The path towards enlightenment. I practice that practice, Achieve the ultimate purity. Hey, Dead Demon, You have been defeated. 5) Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One has known me, the Good One has known me", sadness and disappointment, and immediately disappeared at that place. II. Elephant (Si,103) 1) Thus I hear. At one time, the World-Honored One was staying at Uruvelà, on the banks of the Neranjarà river, under the Nigrodha Ajapàla tree, when he first attained enlightenment. At that time, the World-Honored One was sitting outside, in the dark, and it was raining drop by drop. 2) Then the Evil One, wanting to make the World-Honored One afraid and frightened, making his hair stand on end, immediately transformed into a huge king elephant and went to the World-Honored One. 3) And the elephant's head is like a big black stone (aritthako), its tusks are like pure white silver, its trunk is like the head of a big plow. 4) The World-Honored One knew: "This is the Evil One", and immediately recited a verse to the Evil One: He reincarnates for a long time, Form is pure, impure. Just now, Devil, you have been defeated. 5) Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One knows me, the Good One knows me", sadness and disappointment, immediately disappeared from that place. III. Pure (Si,104) 1) Reside in Uruvelà. 2) At that time, the World-Honored One was sitting outside, in the dark, and it was raining drop by drop. 3) Then the Evil One, wanting to make the World-Honored One afraid and frightened, making his hair stand on end, immediately went to the World-Honored One. 4) After arriving, appearances, high and low, pure and impure, appeared, not far from the World-Honored One. 5) Then the World-Honored One knew: "This is the Evil One", and immediately recited a verse to the Evil One: He reincarnates for a long time, Form is pure, impure. Just now, Devil, you have been defeated. Those who skillfully protect and control the body, speech, and mind, these Evil Ones, are like that, not controlled by you, not your disciples. 6) Then the Devil knew... and immediately disappeared on the spot. IV. Falling Trap (Si,105) 1) Thus I hear. At one time the World-Honored One was staying at Barànasi (Ba-la-nai), Isipatana (land of fallen Immortals), Deer Park. Then the World-Honored One called out to the Bhikkhus: — “Hey Bhikkhus.” — “Yes, Venerable One.” Those monks replied yes to the World-Honored One. 2) The World-Honored One said as follows: - Monks, it is through right intention, it is through right diligence. I attained Supreme liberation.I realized Supreme liberation. So, monks, you too must, with right intention and right diligence, attain the Supreme liberation, realize the Supreme liberation. Then the Evil One went to the World-Honored One, and after coming, recited a verse to the World-Honored One: He was still bound, In the devil's trap, By the strings of sensual pleasures, Both the Heavenly World and the Human World. He is tied tightly, In the curse of demons. This monk, you have not yet escaped me. 4) (World-Honored One): I have been liberated, From the trap of demons, From the strings of sensual pleasures, Both the Heavenly world and the Human world. I have been liberated, From the demon's curse, Hey you Demon of Death, You have been defeated. 5) Then the Devil... disappeared on the spot. V. Trap (Si,105) 1) At one time the World-Honored One lived in Baranasi (Ba-la-nai) in Isipatana, Deer Park. There the World-Honored One called out to the Bhikkhus: "Hey, Bhikkhus." “– Yes, World-Honored One.” Those Bhikkhus replied yes to the World-Honored One. 2) The World-Honored One said as follows: — Monks, I have been freed from all traps in the Heavenly World and the Human World. Monks, you are also freed from all traps in the Heavenly World and the Human World. Monks, travel for the happiness of the people, for the peace of the people, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, for the happiness, for the peace of Gods and humans. Don't go two people in one place. Monks, preach the Dharma that is good in the beginning, good in the middle, good in the end, meaningful and well-written. Proclaim the Brahma Hanh to be completely perfect and pure. There are sentient beings who are born with little dust in the world. If they do not listen to the Dharma, they will perish. They will become those who deeply understand the Dharma. Monks, I will go to Uruvelà, Senà town to preach the Dharma. 3) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he spoke a verse to the World-Honored One: He was still bound, In the trap of demons, By the strings of sensual pleasures, Both the Heavenly world and the Human world. He is tied tightly, In the curse of demons, This monk, He has not yet escaped from me. 4) (World-Honored One) I have been liberated, From the trap of demons, Escaped from the strings of sensual pleasures, Both the Heavenly world and the Human world. I have been liberated, From the demon's curse, Hey you Demon of Death, You have been defeated. BECAUSE. Snake (Si,106) 1) At one time the World-Honored One was in Rajagaha, Veluvana, where he raised squirrels. 2) At that time, the World-Honored One was sitting outside, in the dark, and it was raining drop by drop. 3) Then the Evil One, wanting to make the World-Honored One afraid and frightened, making his hair stand on end, transformed into a great snake king and went to the World-Honored One. 4) Its trunk is as big as a boat carved from a tree trunk. Its gills are like a winemaker's woven tray. Its eyes are like the copper plate of Kosala water; Its tongue protrudes from its mouth like a flashing arrow when it rains, winds, and thunders; The sound of its inhalation and exhalation is like a blacksmith's blowing platform. 5) Then the World-Honored One knew: "This is the Evil One", and immediately recited this verse to the Evil One: How precious is the Muni, Who lives in a house without passing away, Knows how to control the ego, There he resides. Live in renunciation of all, With appropriate practice, Many kinds of passing animals, Many terrible things,Many flies and mosquitoes have poisonous snakes, Not the slightest bit shaken. The hair of a Muni lives in a house without passing away. Even though the sky cracks, the earth shakes, Even though all kinds of creatures are terrorized, Even if spears, swords, and arrows are thrown at His chest, Buddhas cannot create, The bases of birth. 6) Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One knows me, the Good One knows me", and immediately disappeared on the spot. VII. Thuy Mien (Si,107) 1) At one time the World-Honored One was in Rajagaha, Veluvana, where he raised squirrels. 2) Then the World-Honored One, after having walked in the open air for a large part of the night. When the night was almost over, he washed his feet, entered the monastery, and lay down on his right side in the lion's position, with his legs placed on top of each other, mindfully aware and thinking about the time to wake up. 3) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he recited a verse to the World-Honored One: Why are you still sleeping, Why are you still sleeping, Why are you sleeping like that, like a dead person curled up? Thinking that the house was empty, He slept like that, Why did He sleep like that, When the sun had already risen? 4) (World-Honored One): When there is no longer desire, With the net of hindrances and venom, He is thus liberated, Not being led anywhere. Evil! The Enlightened One, All living things are destroyed. If he sleeps, what can you do? VIII. Joy (Si,107) 1) Thus I hear. At one time the World-Honored One was at Sàvatthi, Jetavana, in Anathapindika's garden. 2) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he recited this verse in front of the World-Honored One: The father is happy because of his son, The herdsman is happy because of the cow, He is happy because he gives birth to a robe, If he does not give birth to a robe, he is not happy. (World-Honored One): Fathers grieve because of their children, Shepherds grieve because of cows, People grieve because they give birth to robes, If they do not give birth to robes, they do not grieve. Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One knows me, the Good One knows me," and immediately disappeared on the spot. IX. Longevity (Si,108) 1) Thus I hear. At one time the World-Honored One was in Rajagaha, at Truc Lam, where squirrels were raised. 2) There, the World-Honored One called the Bhikkhus: "Monks" — "Yes, Blessed One." Those Bhikkhus replied yes to the World-Honored One. 3) The World-Honored One said as follows: - Monks, how short is the human lifespan in this life, and then must go in the future! Do good. Let's live a holy life. There is nothing that is born that does not die. Monks, a person's lifespan is only one hundred years, or less, or more. 4) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he recited a verse to the World-Honored One: Humans have a long life span, good people should not worry, drink enough milk, live. Death will not come. 5) (World-Honored One): Humans have a short life span, Good people have to worry, Like burning their heads, let's live, Death will come. 6) Then the Evil One, knowing "The World-Honored One knows me...", immediately disappeared on the spot. X. Longevity (Si,108) 1) At Rajagaha (Vuong Xa). Here, the World-Honored One said as follows: - Monks, how short is the lifespan of humans in this life, and then must pass away in the future! Do good. Let's live a holy life. There is nothing that is born that does not die. Monks, a person's lifespan is only one hundred years, or less, or more. 2) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he recited this verse to the World-Honored One: Day and night do not pass, Life span does not end, Life span rotates like a rim following the axle of a vehicle.3) (World-Honored One): Day and night do pass, Life span comes to an end, A person's life must dry up, Like a small stream at the beginning of a mountain. 4) Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One has known me, the Good One has known me", sadness and disappointment, and immediately disappeared at that place. II. Chapter Two I. The Stone (Si,109) 1) At one time the World-Honored One lived in Ràjagaha, on Mount Gijjhakuta. 2) At that time, the World-Honored One was sitting in the middle of the sky, in the dark of night, and it was raining drop by drop. 3) Then the Evil One, wanting to make the World-Honored One afraid and frightened, making his hair stand on end, immediately went to the World-Honored One. After arriving, he pushed down large rocks that fell not far from the World-Honored One. 4) Then the World-Honored One knew: "This is the Evil One", and immediately spoke a verse to the Evil One: Even if he shook the entire Vulture Mountain, it would not shake the Enlightened, Liberated One. 5) Then the Evil One learned: "The World-Honored One knows me, the Good One knows me", sadness, disappointment, and immediately disappeared on the spot. II. The Lion (Si,106) 1) At one time the World-Honored One lived in Sàvatthi, Jetavana, in Anathapindika's garden. At that time, the World-Honored One was surrounded by a large crowd, preaching the Dharma. 2) Then the Evil One thought: “This monk Gotama is surrounded by a large assembly, preaching the Dharma. So let us go to Samana Gotama and blind the public." 3) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; after arriving, recited this verse to the World-Honored One: Why do you roar, roar like a lion, fearless and fearless, in front of a large assembly? Now He has an opponent, Don't think He wins the battle! 4) (World-Honored One): The Great Hero roared, Fearless in front of the crowd, Tathagata attained ten powers, Overcame craving in life. 5) Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One has known me, the Good One has known me", sadness and disappointment immediately disappeared at that place. III. Tablet of Stone (Si,110) 1) Thus I hear. At one time the World-Honored One was at Rajagaha, at Maddakucchi, the Deer Park (Migadaya). 2) At that time, the Buddha's foot was injured by a stone slab. The World-Honored One's emotions were fierce, his whole body was in pain, throbbing, intensely aching, unpleasant, and unsatisfactory. And the World-Honored One was mindful, alert, and patient, not letting his mind become depressed. 3) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he recited this verse to the World-Honored One: Why are you lying lazily, often looking for poetry, looking for luck, Is there something different, not waiting for you to do it, must be alone, alone, on the bed, lying, sitting? , With a sleepy face, Why do you sleep like that? (World-Honored One): I do not lie down lazily, I do not seek poetry or fortune, I have achieved my goal, There is no sadness! I lie down and sit alone, On a deserted chair and bed, Quietly I lie down to rest, Compassionate heart, loving sentient beings. Those whose chests were stabbed, panting and their hearts pounding, still found sleep, despite being seriously injured. Why don't I sleep, When I'm not injured, When I'm awake I'm not worried, When I sleep I'm not afraid, Day and night don't arise, Troubles bother me? I see no harm, Nowhere in the world, Therefore, I lie down to rest, Compassionate, loving sentient beings. 5) Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One has known me, the Good One has known me", sadness and disappointment immediately disappeared at that place. IV. Adaptation of Samyutta (Ignorance, 111) 1) At one time the World-Honored One was residing in Kosala,in a Brahmin village named Ekasàlà. At that time, the World-Honored One was surrounded by a large assembly of lay people, preaching the Dharma. 2) Then the Evil One thought: “This monk Gotama, surrounded by a large assembly of lay people, is preaching the Dharma. So let us go to Samana Gotama and blind this public.” 3) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he recited a verse to the World-Honored One: It is not at all suitable for Him to teach people, Between those who are favorable and those who are against, Do not practice standing in the middle. 4) (World-Honored One): With compassion and compassion, the Enlightened One teaches people, Between those who are favorable and those who are against, the Tathagata is truly liberated. 5) Then the Evil One realized: "The World-Honored One knows me..." and immediately disappeared from that place. V. Idea (Si,111) 1) Thus I hear. At one time the World-Honored One was staying at Sàvatthi, Jetavana, in Anathapindika's garden. 2) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, he recited a verse to the World-Honored One: Every action of the mind is a trap in the air. With that trap, I bound him. This monk, he has not yet escaped from me. 3) (World-Honored One): Sight, sound, taste, smell, touch, Make the mind like it, I do not desire them, I am beyond them, O Demon of Death, You have been defeated. 4) Then the Evil One realized: "The World-Honored One knows me..." and immediately disappeared at that place. BECAUSE. The Bowl (Si,112) 1) Abiding in Sàvatthi. At that time, the World-Honored One was preaching to the monks about the five aggregates of clinging, encouraging, exciting, and joyful. And those monks paid close attention, paid close attention, concentrated all their thoughts, and turned their ears to listen to the Dharma. 2) Then the Evil One thought: “This monk Gotama is preaching to the monks about the five aggregates of clinging, encouraging, exciting, making happy, and those monks are paying close attention. , pay close attention, concentrate all your thoughts, listen to the Dharma. So let's go to Samana Gotama and blind those monks." 3) At that time, many alms bowls were placed outside to dry. 4) Then the Devil transformed into a bull and went to the alms bowls. 5) Then a Bhikkhu said to another Bhikkhu: — Bhikkhu, Bhikkhu, this bull will break the bowls. 6) When he heard that, the World-Honored One said to those monks: — Monks, it is not a bull. It is the Devil who wants to blind your eyes. 7) And the World-Honored One knew: "This is the Evil One", and immediately recited the verse to the Evil One: Form, feeling, perception, mental formations, consciousness, That is not me, That is not mine, Such is the separation. Greed, Free from such greed, peace of mind, All fetters will be freed, Even if you search in all lands, the Devil cannot find you. 8) The evil demon knew: "The World-Honored One knows me..." and immediately disappeared from that place. VII. Place (Si,112) 1) At one time the World-Honored One lived in Vesali (Vi-xa-ly), Dai Lam, in the lecture hall. 2) At that time, the World-Honored One was preaching to the monks about the six senses of contact, encouraging, exciting, and joyful. And those monks paid close attention, paid close attention, concentrated all their thoughts, and listened attentively to the Dharma. 3) Then the Evil One thought: “This monk Gotama is preaching to the monks about the six senses of contact, encouraging, exciting, and joyful. And those monks were very attentive, very attentive, concentrating all their thoughts,listen to the Dharma. So let's go to Samana Gotama and blind those monks." 4) Then the Demon went to the World-Honored One; After arriving, the Devil let out a loud, terrible, terrifying scream, like the ground cracking. 5) Then a Bhikkhu said to another Bhikkhu: — Bhikkhu, Bhikkhu, it seems that this earth is cracked. 6) When he heard that, the World-Honored One said to that monk: — Monk, it is not the ground that is cracked. That is the Devil coming to blind your eyes. 7) Then the World-Honored One knew: "This is the Evil One", and immediately recited the verse to the Evil One: Sight, sound, taste and smell, Together with all the senses and dharmas, Are terrifying worldly things, Causing confusion in the world. The disciple who is fully enlightened and mindful is beyond them, beyond the forces of evil, like the bright sun. 8) Then the Evil One realized: "The World-Honored One knows me..." and immediately disappeared from that place. VIII. Doan Thuc (Si,113) 1) At one time the World-Honored One lived in Magadha, in a Brahmin village called Pancasàlà. 2) At that time, in a Brahmin village called Pancasàlà, a gift exchange ceremony between young men and women was taking place. 3) Then the World-Honored One put on his robes, in the morning, took his bowl and robe and went to the Brahmin village of Pancasàlà to beg for alms. 4) At that time, the Brahmin homeowners in Pancasàlà were invaded by the Evil One and decided: "Do not let the recluse Gotama receive alms food." 5) Then the World-Honored One went to the Brahmin village named Pancasàlà to beg for alms with a clean bowl, and returned with the same washed bowl. 6) Then the Evil One went to the Blessed One, and after coming said to the Blessed One: — Monk, did you receive the alms food? 7) — Demon, are you causing me to not receive alms? 8) — Yes, World-Honored One, please go to the Brahmin village of Pancasàlà a second time. And I will do so that the World-Honored One will receive alms-food (World-Honored One): The Evil One does evil, To attack the Tathagata, Why, Evil One, could you think, Your evil will harm Me, Will no result. We live happily, People who have nothing, Like the Heavenly Lights, Like the Heavenly Lights, With bright aura, Taking joy as food. 9) Then the Evil One realized: "The World-Honored One knows me..." and immediately disappeared from that place. IX. The Farmer (Si,114) 1) Cause and effect in Sàvatthi. At that time, the World-Honored One was preaching to the monks on matters related to Nirvana, encouraging, exciting, and joyful. And those monks paid close attention, paid close attention, concentrated all their thoughts, and listened to the Dharma. 2) Then the Evil One thought: "This monk Gotama is preaching to the monks on matters related to Nirvana... Then let us go to monk Gotama to blind the monks." stilts.” 3) Then the Devil transformed into a farmer, carrying a large plow on his shoulder, holding an ox stick in his hand, disheveled hair, wearing linen, muddy feet, and arrived. , said to the World-Honored One: 4) — Monk, have you seen the bull? 5) — But Devil, what is a bull to you? 6) — Monk, the eyes are mine, the form is mine, the sense-base touched by the eyes is mine. Monk, where can you go to escape me? Monk, the ears are mine, the voice is mine... Monk,the nose is mine, the scent is mine... Monk, the tongue is mine, the taste is mine... Monk, the body is mine, the touch is mine... Monk, the mind is mine, The dharma is mine, the base of consciousness touched by the mind is mine. Monk, where can you go to escape me? 7) — Demon, the eyes are yours, the form is yours, the sense-base touched by the eyes is yours. And, Evil One, wherever there is no eye, no form, no sense-base of touch, then there is no place for you, Evil Demon. 8) Evil One, the ears are yours, the voice is yours, the sense-base touched by the ears is yours. And, Evil One, where there is no ear, no sound, no sense-base touched by the ear, then there is no place for you, Evil Demon. 9) Demon, the nose is yours, the scent is yours, the sense of consciousness touched by the nose is yours. And, Evil One, where there is no nose, no scent, no sense-base touched by the nose, then there is no place for you to practice, Evil Demon. 10) Demon, the tongue is yours, the taste is yours, the sense-base touched by the tongue is yours. Evil Demon, where there is no tongue, no taste, no sense-base touched by the tongue, then there is no place for you to practice, Evil Demon. Hey Evil One, the body is yours, the contact is yours, the sense-base touched by the body is yours. And, Evil One, wherever there is no body, no contact, no sense-base touched by the body, then there is no place for you to practice, Evil One. 11) Demon, the mind is yours, the dharma is yours, the sense-base touched by the mind is yours. And, Evil One, where there is no mind, no dharma, no consciousness touched by the mind, then Evil One, there is no place of your practice, Evil One. 12) — The thing He said: “This is mine.” And those who said: “This is mine.” If there is a thought here, Regarding that thing, then, monk, he cannot escape me. 13) (World-Honored One): You said about things: "This is not mine." And those who said: "They are not me". Hey Evil One, do you know that, until you don't see the path I take? 14) Then the Devil... immediately disappeared at that place. X. Domination (Si,116) 1) Once the World-Honored One was in Kosala, at the foot of Snow Mountain, in a small hermitage in the forest. 2) While the World-Honored One was meditating in solitude, the following thought arose: "Is it possible to rule without killing, without allowing others to kill?" do not conquer, do not make conquerors; not sad, not making people sad in a legal way? 3) Then the Evil One, knowing the Blessed One's thoughts, immediately went to the Blessed One; After arriving, he said to the World-Honored One: — World-Honored One, World-Honored One, please rule. Good Oath, please rule without killing, do not cause people to kill; do not conquer, do not make conquerors; not sad, not making people sad in a legal way. 4) — Hey Evil One, what do you see that makes you say to me like that: “World-Honored One, please rule. Good Oath, please rule without killing, without causing people to kill...,... in a lawful way"? 5) — World-Honored One, the four like-sufficiencies of the mind have been practiced by the World-Honored One, made full of them, made like a vehicle, made like a base, steadfast, accommodating,Apply wisely. And World-Honored One, if the World-Honored One wants Snow Mountain, the king of all mountains, to become gold, the World-Honored One can make such a decision, and the mountain can become gold. 6) (World-Honored One): Even if the entire mountain were to become pure gold, even if it were doubled, it would still not satisfy one person's ambition. Knowing that to practice, Who clearly sees suffering, And the cause of suffering, How can such a person, have a tendency to desire? After knowing that birth is a bondage in life, one who knows that should learn to release all constraints. 7) Then the Evil One knew: "The World-Honored One has known me, the Good One has known me", sadness and disappointment, immediately disappeared at that place. III. Chapter Three (Five more sutras) I. The Most (S,i.117) 1) Thus I hear. At one time, the Blessed One was among the Sakkà monks, at Silàvatii. 2) At that time, many Bhikkhus lived not far from the Blessed One, not heedless, enthusiastic, diligent. 3) Then the Devil transformed into a Brahmin, with a big bun, dressed in antelope skin, old and weak, stooped like a beam, panting, holding an udumbara wooden stick in his hand, walking. to those monks; After arriving, he told the monks: - Venerable monks left home too young, in their youth, their hair was still jet black, in their youth, in the childhood of their lives, they did not enjoy sensual pleasures. Venerable monks, please enjoy human desires, do not abandon the present and follow things controlled by time. 4) — Brahmin, we do not abandon the present and follow what is controlled by time. And Brahmin, we abandon what is controlled by time and follow the present. Brahmin, the World-Honored One said that desires are influenced by time, there is more suffering, more affliction, and more disasters there. This dharma belongs to the present, is not influenced by time, comes to see, has the ability to move upward, and only the wise can understand for themselves. 5) Upon hearing that, the Devil bowed his head, stuck out his tongue, three wrinkles appeared on his forehead, walked away with his cane. 6) Then those Bhikkhus went to the Blessed One, and after bowing to the Blessed One, sat down to one side. Sitting down to one side, the monks said to the Blessed One: 7) — Here, Blessed One, we live not far from the Blessed One, not careless, enthusiastic, diligent. Then the World-Honored One, a Brahmin, with a big bun, dressed in antelope skin, old and weak, with a back as stooped as a beam, panting, holding an udumbara wooden stick in his hand, came to them. children; After coming, he told us as follows: "— Venerable monks left home too young, in their youth, their hair was still jet black, in their youth, in the childhood of their lives, they did not enjoy sensual pleasures. Venerable monks, please enjoy human desires, do not leave the present to chase after things controlled by time." 8) When we heard that, World-Honored One, we said to that Brahmin: "Hey Brahmin, we do not abandon the present and follow what is controlled by time. And Brahman, we abandon what is controlled by time to follow the present. Brahmin, the World-Honored One said that desires are controlled by time, there is more suffering, more affliction, and more disasters here. How can, World-Honored One, your disciple, who rejoices in the teachings, does not attain the knowledge of learning, and still wants to take his life? After arriving, he recited a verse to the World-Honored One: With a sad mind, he meditated in the forest, Because of the loss of wealth, Or because of craving for property? Maybe in the village, He committed a crime. Why don't you become friends with your neighbors? Why can't He be friends with anyone? 4) (World-Honored One): All roots of sorrow are eradicated, No crime, I meditate, No sorrow, I meditate. All craving for existence is cut off, without outflows, I meditate, Hey, heedless people! 5) (Evil): The thing He said: "This is mine". And people who said, “This is me.” If the intention here is, Regarding that thing, then, monk, he cannot escape me. 6) (World-Honored One): The things you said: "This is not mine" And the people who said: "They are not me". Understand thus, O Evil One! Until you don't see, My path goes. 7) (Evil): If you can attain enlightenment, the path is safe and immortal, then go alone. Why teach others? 8) (World-Honored One): People go to the other shore, They ask about the immortal water, When asked, I answer, The realm has no residue. 9) — World-Honored One, like a lake not far from a village or town. There is a crab there. Then, World-Honored One, many boys and girls came out of that village and went to that lake. After arriving, they pulled the crab out of the water and placed it on land. World-Honored One, whenever that crab sticks out its claws, those boys or girls will use a stick or a piece of ceramic to cut off, break or smash that claw. Thus, World-Honored One, that crab, with all its claws cut off, broken, and crushed, could no longer crawl into that lake. For example, in the past, there were some confusions, contradictions, and distortions that the World-Honored One cut off, broke, and smashed. And now, World-Honored One, in the hope of finding fault, I cannot approach the World-Honored One. 10) Then the Evil One, in front of the World-Honored One, in despair, recited this verse: Like a crow thrown into the void, Seeing a stone like a piece of fat, Thinking he would find it,The pieces are soft and delicious.
