Kevaddha Sutra. (Kevaddha sutta). 1. Thus I hear. At one time the World-Honored One was staying at Nalanda in the Pavarikampa garden. At that time the young layman Kevaddha came to the Blessed One's place, paid homage to him and sat down to one side. After sitting down to one side, the young layperson Kevaddha said to the Blessed One: - Blessed One, this Nalanda is prestigious and prosperous, the people are crowded and respectful of the Blessed One. World-Honored One, it would be good if the World-Honored One would instruct a monk to demonstrate superior human dharma and supernatural powers of transformation. Thanks to that, this Nalanda will gain more people to worship the World-Honored One. Hearing that, the World-Honored One said to the young layperson Kevaddha: - Kevaddha, I do not teach you this dharma: "Monks, you should show the superior human dharma, the supernatural powers of transformation to you." white-clothed layman". 2. The second time, the young layperson Kevaddha told the World-Honored One: - World-Honored One, I do not want to bother the World-Honored One. I just said: "World-Honored One, this Nalanda is prestigious and prosperous, the people are crowded and respectful of the World-Honored One. World-Honored One, it would be good if the World-Honored One would instruct a monk to demonstrate superior human dharma and supernatural powers of transformation. Thanks to that, this Nalanda will make more people believe in the World-Honored One." The second time, the World-Honored One said to the young layperson Kevaddha: - Kevaddha, I do not teach you this dharma: "Monks, you should show the superior human dharma, miraculous powers of transformation to you." white-clothed layman". 3. The third time, young layperson Kevaddha said to the Blessed One: - Blessed One, I don't want to bother the Blessed One. I just said: "World-Honored One, this Nalanda is prestigious and prosperous, the people are crowded and respectful of the World-Honored One. World-Honored One, it would be good if the World-Honored One would instruct a monk to demonstrate superior human dharma and supernatural powers of transformation. Thanks to that, this Nalanda will make more people believe in the World-Honored One." – Hey Kevaddha, there are these three magical powers that I have personally enlightened and proclaimed. What is three? That means transforming magical powers, transforming minds, teaching magical powers. 4. Hey Kevaddha, what is magical transformation? Hey Kevaddha, in this world there are monks who can attain miraculous powers: one body manifests into many bodies, many bodies manifest into one body; Appears, transforms, passes through a cliff, through a wall, through a mountain, as if passing through nothingness; burrowing up, passing through land as if in water, walking on water without sinking like walking on land; sitting cross-legged and walking in the air like a bird; with two hands touching and touching the sun and moon; Things with such great divine power and great majesty can fly to the Brahma world on their own. Some faithful people saw that Bhikkhu demonstrating magical powers: one body manifested many bodies, many bodies manifested one body: apparition, transformation, passing through walls, through walls, through mountains as if passing through space. ; burrowing up, passing through land as if in water, walking on water without sinking like walking on land; sitting cross-legged and walking in space like a bird, with hands touching and touching the sun and moon; Things with such great divine power and great majesty can fly to the Brahma world on their own. 5.That faithful person said to an unfaithful person: “Venerable sir, how marvelous it is! Venerable sir, how rare is the great supernatural power and great virtue of a monk! I myself have seen a monk witness supernatural powers, "one body manifests many bodies, many bodies manifest one body,... can fly to the Brahma world on his own". People who do not have faith can say to people who have faith: “Venerable sir, there is a spell called Gandhhàri. Thanks to the spell, many bodies appear, many bodies appear as one body... one can fly to the Brahma world." Hey Kevaddha, what do you think? Can someone without faith speak to someone with faith like that? – World-Honored One, it can be said like that. – Kevaddha, it is because I see the danger in the transformation of magical powers that I am bored, ashamed, and afraid of transforming magical powers. 6. Hey Kevaddha, what is the psychic ability to forgive others? Hey Kevaddha, in life there are monks who speak to the mind, speak to the mental factors, speak to the contemplation, speak to the contemplation of other sentient beings, of other people: "So is your intention." Someone with faith sees a monk speaking about mental factors, speaking about reflections, and speaking up about the thinking of other sentient beings and other people: "This is your idea, this is your idea." Yours, such is Your mind.” 7. That faithful person said to an unfaithful person: "Hey Venerable, how wonderful it is! Venerable sir, how rare is the great supernatural power and great virtue of a monk! I myself have seen the Bhikkhu speak to the mind, speak to the mental factors, speak to the contemplation and speak to the contemplation of other sentient beings, of other people: "This is your idea, this is your mind, such is your mind.” People who do not have faith can say to people who have faith: "Venerable sir, there is a spell called Maniko, thanks to this spell, a Bhikkhu speaks of the mind, speaks of mental factors, speaks of thinking. vision, and express the thoughts of other sentient beings, of other people... "This is your mind, such is your mind". Hey Kevaddha, what do you think? Can someone who is not faithful tell you if you have such faithfulness? – World-Honored One, can you say that? – Hey Kevaddha, I myself see the danger in the psychic powers of other minds. I am bored, ashamed, and afraid of other psychic powers. 8. Hey Kevaddha, what is the magical power of teaching? In life, there are monks who teach as follows: "Think like this, don't think like that; Think like this, don't think like that; Get rid of this, attain and abide in that.” Hey Kevaddha, this is called miraculous teaching.People who do not have faith can say to people who have faith: “Venerable sir, there is a spell called Gandhhàri.
