A good physician (Herbalist) is like a good mother (From mother). A physician who is not "good" cannot be a "gentle" mother. The gentle mother probably does not want her children to get sick ... to take care of, but on the contrary, always wishes for a small child, to quickly grow up.

The good physician, too, must have always dreamed like Lan Ong - wishing that everyone could be healthy and happy so that they could be ... unemployed, writing poems in the bay, traveling in the water ...

The "good" physician, in addition to the technical expertise - a "cool hand" physician - must be good at the psychology of contact, diagnosis not only disease but also understand the "human response" ”(Human response) of patients in the social and cultural context in which they live. There is a maxim in medicine: "There is no disease, only the sick". That is, the same disease that each person will "sick" differently, due to their location and environment (natural and social environment), so their disease will "show" ”Different, different behaviors and therapies will therefore have to be different as well. Healing according to a mechanical "treatment regimen" does not require the presence of a physician. The "physician" not only sees the disease but also sees the disease ,    not only the pain but also the suffering of the patient. Medical profession is a special profession. Two people who did not know each other, just met, told each other a few sentences that one (patient) was ready to reveal all his private secrets, ready to shed his clothes for the other person (physician) ) physical examination of his body without hesitation. If there is no absolute trust that will be kept in secret, will be healed of suffering, who dare? That is why people always choose "medical input" very carefully. In addition to knowledge, you must also consider attitudes, behaviors, motivations ... through tests and direct interviews to know what the "medical" person who wants to study medicine has or "just a" investment "?

Then during that long learning process, medical ethics (ethics) are taught very carefully, through and through, to form an attitude, a life like the flesh of a physician . It is the absolute respect for the lives and dignity of the client (patient) because they have "entrusted their lives" to the hands of a "stranger" they trust. These principles were laid down in Hippocrates, 400 BC, which became the indispensable principles of medical ethics and later became concretized by the Déontologie médicale. ) teaching at
medical ethics schools is based on the "respect for human life", so first of all do not do anything more harmful (Premum non nocere!) , always think and do things to benefit the sick. Then respect the dignity and rights of patients. Must strictly keep professional secrets.
Do not discriminate. Fair and honest. Respect the autonomy (Autonomy) on both patients and teachers. This is the basis  for  informed consent, provided that the physician is truthful, clear and appropriate. Except for emergencies, first aid is required, and in addition, there must be the consent of the patient in all activities related to testing, examination, hospitalization, surgical intervention ... to all types of care. as well as using teaching records, etc. ... Since then, the issue of physician-patient relationship, communication and therapy issues has been raised.
The physician just stood before his conscience. Maybe people don't know it but with conscience they know it. And so they must be personally responsible. They need to have sufficient capacity and ethical qualities to fulfill the mission that society has entrusted through training and social control training. The capacity of a physician is the result of continuous study, research, improvement from professional training courses, regular training, updates on science and technology and new practices. Capacity must be suitable with equipment and material facilities. No matter how advanced equipment and facilities, weak capacity will also be a serious harm to the medical industry, causing loss of confidence and causing additional costs.
In the old days, when the physician was powerful, every patient had to obey, that paternalism relationship was over! With consumerism (Consumerism) recently, the physician is considered as a health care provider (health care provider) and the patient becomes a customer, a consumer (consumer). Patients are pampered, encouraged, even "scare" to ... consume, use services, technology as much as possible. The hospital is no longer a "hospital" but a business. Director is a businessman, making a profit. Doctors are employees. People have recognized this kind of unhappy relationship and there have been demands for reform. Nowadays, a third trend is more fair, more rational, has two-way interaction, dialogue and cooperation. Medical ethics is therefore increasingly concerned.
Medical students today have many good conditions to study. Medical technology is getting better. Information technology development. Medical students want to become a "physician" is not difficult. The problem is that in addition to their expertise, they will have to train themselves more in the social and humanistic fields to balance in life, and for the "physician" to become "from the mother". END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH,AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY,1/1/2020.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.
